To reasonably select the composition of molten slag for efficient enrichment of rare earth elements therein, the viscosity and melt structure of mixed rare earth slag under different binary basicity conditions were explored using rotating cylinder method, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectronic spectroscopy. The results show that with the binary basicity of 0.50, 0.86, 1.00, and 1.20 respectively, the corresponding viscosity of the slag system at 1 550 ℃ is 1.30, 0.87, 0.60, and 0.36 Pa·s, and the activation energy of the viscous flow unit is 268, 220, 216, 202 kJ respectively; the area fractions of Q1 (Si) and Q2 (Si) in the molten slag are all more than 24%. As the binary basicity increases, the area fraction of bridging oxygen (O0) decreases, and the area fractions of non-bridging oxygen (O-) and free oxygen (O2-) decrease, and the K value representing the polymerization degree of slag gradually decreases from 0.53 to 0.10. It is found that the structure system of molten slag tends to be simple with the increase of binary basicity, which is the main reason for decrease in the viscosity of a mixed rare earth slag.

为合理选择熔渣成分以服务于含稀土熔渣高效富集稀土,采用旋转柱体法和红外光谱、拉曼光谱、X射线光电子能谱研究了不同二元碱度条件下混合稀土渣系的黏度和熔体结构。结果表明:二元碱度为0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20时,1 550 ℃下渣系对应的黏度分别为1.30、0.87、0.60、0.36 Pa·s,对应的活化能分别为268、220、216、202 kJ;Q1(Si)和Q2(Si)在熔渣中的面积分数均在24%以上;随着二元碱度增加,桥氧(O0)面积分数减少,非桥氧(O-)和自由氧(O2-)面积分数增加,代表熔渣聚合度的K值逐渐从0.53降至0.10。随着二元碱度增加,熔渣结构体系趋于简单化是混合稀土渣系黏度降低的主要原因。

为合理选择熔渣成分以服务于含稀土熔渣高效富集稀土,采用旋转柱体法和红外光谱、拉曼光谱、X射线光电子能谱研究了不同二元碱度条件下混合稀土渣系的黏度和熔体结构。结果表明:二元碱度为0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20时,1 550 ℃下渣系对应的黏度分别为1.30、0.87、0.60、0.36 Pa·s,对应的活化能分别为268、220、216、202 kJ;Q1(Si)和Q2(Si)在熔渣中的面积分数均在24%以上;随着二元碱度增加,桥氧(O0)面积分数减少,非桥氧(O-)和自由氧(O2-)面积分数增加,代表熔渣聚合度的K值逐渐从0.53降至0.10。随着二元碱度增加,熔渣结构体系趋于简单化是混合稀土渣系黏度降低的主要原因。

To reasonably select the composition of molten slag for efficient enrichment of rare earth elements therein, the viscosity and melt structure of mixed rare earth slag under different binary basicity conditions were explored using rotating cylinder method, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectronic spectroscopy. The results show that with the binary basicity of 0.50, 0.86, 1.00, and 1.20 respectively, the corresponding viscosity of the slag system at 1 550 ℃ is 1.30, 0.87, 0.60, and 0.36 Pa·s, and the activation energy of the viscous flow unit is 268, 220, 216, 202 kJ respectively; the area fractions of Q1 (Si) and Q2 (Si) in the molten slag are all more than 24%. As the binary basicity increases, the area fraction of bridging oxygen (O0) decreases, and the area fractions of non-bridging oxygen (O-) and free oxygen (O2-) decrease, and the K value representing the polymerization degree of slag gradually decreases from 0.53 to 0.10. It is found that the structure system of molten slag tends to be simple with the increase of binary basicity, which is the main reason for decrease in the viscosity of a mixed rare earth slag.

从熔渣中提取低含量有价组分的常用方法是选择性结晶后再分离。该方法通常首先研究渣系成分变化对渣系基础物理化学特性如黏度、结晶物相种类的影响规律,然后调控合适温度及冷速使有价组分选择性地富集于某一结晶相中,最后再利用重选、浮选等传统分离技术富集得到有价组分的结晶相或采用湿法冶金方法直接浸出回收有价组元。二元碱度不仅可以直接改变结晶相的类型,还可通过影响渣系黏度间接影响结晶相的长大过程,进而控制有价组元的富集结晶行为。
白云鄂博矿中稀土资源利用率不高。在含稀土渣的研究方面,已有研究多聚焦于单一稀土氧化物精炼渣或保护渣[1-4],对含稀土渣结晶富集方面有关黏度的关注不多。本文基于改变二元碱度以调控含稀土渣系黏度从而服务于富稀土相结晶析出的目的,开展二元碱度变化对复合稀土氧化物体系黏度及熔渣结构影响的研究,以期提高白云鄂博矿的稀土资源利用率。
文献[5]研究了碱度对CaO-SiO2-15%La2O3-CaF2渣中结晶相的影响,但结晶相种类偏多,应该与其较高的CaF2含量有关。本课题组前期通过调控渣系合适碱度能够获得单一富稀土结晶相[6],单一富稀土相的结晶析出无疑对后续选矿更有利。另外,考虑到白云鄂博矿中稀土主要以Ce、La配分为主,本文选择CaOSiO2-Al2O3-CeO2-La2O3渣系作为研究对象,实验渣系的化学成分及碱度如表1所示。实验原料中的CeO2和La2O3由各自的碳酸盐于1100 ℃马弗炉中焙烧2 h得到;配料前,分析纯试剂CaO、SiO2和Al2O3先在马弗炉中1 000 ℃下焙烧2 h以去除试剂中的水分及部分挥发性杂质。
表1比例配制每个渣样180 g(考虑料损失),混匀后装入Φ45 mm×80 mm钼坩埚,在氩气气氛下放入管式炉中预熔,水淬后破碎研磨成粉,用于黏度检测。重新配制每个渣样4 g,装入Φ15 mm×25 mm钼坩埚,在氩气气氛下升温至1 550 ℃后保温30 min以便熔渣完全熔化,取出后立即水淬获得玻璃态熔渣,随后将水淬渣烘干、破碎、研磨至0.074 mm以下,用于熔渣结构检测。所获得的玻璃态熔渣XRD分析结果如图1所示。
采用旋转柱体法,利用RTW-16型熔渣物性综合测试仪测定熔渣在不同温度下的黏度,得到黏度-温度曲线。利用傅里叶变换红外光谱(FTIR)、拉曼(Raman)光谱和X射线光电子能谱(XPS)研究熔渣结构。
图2为不同碱度条件下CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-CeO2-La2O3渣系的黏度-温度曲线。可以看出,所有样品的黏度均随着温度下降逐渐升高。值得注意的是,碱度1.20时出现明显的拐点,为碱性渣特点;其他碱度时没有明显拐点,表现为酸性渣。温度高于1 370 ℃后,随着碱度增加,样品黏度逐渐降低。碱度从0.50增加到0.86时,黏度降低幅度增大,且随着温度降低,黏度降低幅度逐渐增大,1 550 ℃时,碱度0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20渣系对应的黏度分别为1.30、0.60、0.51、0.36 Pa·s。
黏度与温度的关系通常用阿伦尼乌斯公式表示:
式中:η为熔渣黏度,Pa·s;A为指前因子;Ea为活化能,指流动单元由一个平衡位置跃迁到另一个平衡位置所需克服的能垒,kJ/mol;R为摩尔气体常数,R=8.314 J/(mol·K);T为绝对温度,K。
对式(1)两边取对数,得:
活化能计算拟合结果如图3所示。碱度0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20条件下拟合的活化能分别为268、220、216、202 kJ,说明随着碱度增加,活化能逐渐降低。
硅酸盐熔渣中对熔渣结构影响最大的是硅氧四面体,而硅氧四面体主要有5种结构单元,可以用Qi(Si)(i=0,1,2,3,4)来表示,其中i表示连接两个四面体的氧的数量,分别对应的是单体Q0、二聚体Q1、链状Q2、片状Q3及完整四面体Q4,其结构如图4所示。
图5为不同碱度条件下CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-CeO2-La2O3渣系的FTIR分析结果。从图5可以看出,在FTIR图中主要分为低频区(400~600 cm-1)、中频区(600~800 cm-1)和高频区(800~1 100 cm-1)。一般而言,高频区主要反映的是硅氧四面体的伸缩振动,中频区与铝氧四面体和Si—O伸缩振动有关[7-9],低频区反映的是T—O—T(T代表Si、Al等元素)的弯曲振动[10]。从高频区看,随着碱度增加,波谷变得不明显且逐渐向低波数段偏移;中频区也有类似的变化规律,波峰逐渐向低波数段偏移;低频区呈现相反的变化规律,波峰逐渐向高波数段偏移。以上现象表明,随着碱度增加,硅氧四面体和铝氧四面体数量减少,T—O—T结构数量增加。
尽管FTIR分析已经从一定程度上反映了碱度对熔渣结构的影响规律,但还不能详细阐释熔渣中各结构单元的具体变化。采用Raman光谱进一步分析。图6为不同碱度条件下实验渣系的Raman光谱,熔渣中硅氧四面体的Raman光谱范围汇总于表2中。可以看出,随着碱度增加,800~1 200 cm-1范围内的波峰逐渐向低波数段偏移。
Al2O3为两性氧化物,其对熔渣结构的影响存在两面性[15]。本实验渣系中含有Al2O3,因此尚需分析Al2O3对本渣系熔渣结构的作用。图7表3是对各样品的拉曼光谱解谱结果及各结构单元的面积分数统计。
图7可以看出,熔渣中Q2(Si)和Q1(Si)是硅氧四面体的主要存在形式。结合表3数据可见,随着碱度增加,片状Q3(Si)和链状Q2(Si)面积分数下降,二聚体Q1(Si)和结构更简单的Q0(Si)面积分数增加。由拉曼分峰拟合结果可知,渣中的Q3(Si)和Q2(Si)生成了结构更简单的Q1(Si)和Q0(Si),熔渣聚合度降低,黏度随着碱度增加而降低。
在硅铝酸盐熔渣中,氧主要以桥氧(BO)、非桥氧(NBO)和自由氧(FO)类型存在。非桥氧和自由氧数量增加代表熔渣聚合度降低,桥氧数量增加代表熔渣聚合度升高。桥氧、非桥氧和自由氧在O1s的XPS结合能分别位于532、531.2和530 eV附近[16]图8为CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-CeO2-La2O3渣系O1s的XPS分峰拟合结果。可以看出,随着碱度增加,桥氧数量逐渐降低,非桥氧和自由氧数量逐渐增加。说明随着碱度增加,渣系结构变得简单,这与黏度随着碱度增加而降低的变化规律相吻合。
CaO在本实验渣系中提供O2-并发挥网络修饰体作用,因此存在3种类型氧的相互转化:
文献[17]指出,熔渣的聚合度可以用平衡常数K[K=c(O0)·c(O2-)/c(O-2]来表示。计算得到本实验渣系碱度0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20对应的样品K值分别为0.53、0.18、0.11、0.10,可见,随着二元碱度增加,熔渣聚合度降低,熔渣结构变得更简单。
1)二元碱度0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20时,1 550 ℃下渣系黏度分别为1.3、0.6、0.51、0.36 Pa·s,对应的活化能分别为268、220、216、202 kJ,渣由酸性渣逐渐转变为碱性渣。
2)碱度增加,结构相对复杂的Q3(Si)和Q2(Si)面积分数下降,结构简单的Q1(Si)和Q0(Si)面积分数增加,且Q2(Si)和Q1(Si)在熔渣中占比超过24%,熔渣中Q3(Si)和Q2(Si)逐渐形成结构简单的Q1(Si)和Q2(Si)。
3)CaO在本渣系中发挥网络修饰体作用,二元碱度0.50、0.86、1.00、1.20时,代表熔渣聚合度的K值分别为0.53、0.18、0.11、0.10,熔渣聚合度降低。
