For recovering the cobalt in a sulfur-cobalt concentrate mainly occurring as isomorphism in pyrite and magnetite, an experimental study was carried out by adopting roasting and leaching process. The results show that the sulfur-cobalt concentrate, at the fineness of -0.074 mm 80%, was firstly roasted at 620 ℃ for 3 h by adding sodium sulfite as an aid at an amount of 5% of the mass weight of sulfur-cobalt concentrate, and then leached for 2 h at 90 ℃ with sulfuric acid at an amount of 20% of the mass weight of sulfur-cobalt concentrate, liquid-solid ratio of 2∶1, leading to a cobalt leaching rate of 85.85%. It is found that sulfur-cobalt concentrate is transformed into hematite after oxidizing roasting, and cobalt in the roasted ore mainly exists in the form of cobalt oxide and cobalt sulfate.

For recovering the cobalt in a sulfur-cobalt concentrate mainly occurring as isomorphism in pyrite and magnetite, an experimental study was carried out by adopting roasting and leaching process. The results show that the sulfur-cobalt concentrate, at the fineness of -0.074 mm 80%, was firstly roasted at 620 ℃ for 3 h by adding sodium sulfite as an aid at an amount of 5% of the mass weight of sulfur-cobalt concentrate, and then leached for 2 h at 90 ℃ with sulfuric acid at an amount of 20% of the mass weight of sulfur-cobalt concentrate, liquid-solid ratio of 2∶1, leading to a cobalt leaching rate of 85.85%. It is found that sulfur-cobalt concentrate is transformed into hematite after oxidizing roasting, and cobalt in the roasted ore mainly exists in the form of cobalt oxide and cobalt sulfate.

钴作为一种重要战略金属元素,具有独特物理、化学和机械性能,在电池材料、高温合金、硬质合金、催化剂、磁性材料及玻陶制备等领域有着广泛应用[1-3]。世界钴资源主要分布在刚果(金)、古巴、赞比亚、澳大利亚等少数国家,这些国家的钴储量总和占到了世界钴总储量的95%以上[4]。国内钴矿资源极为贫乏,独立钴矿床极少,钴通常以伴生元素形态存在于铜镍铁等矿床中,平均品位低,导致钴资源回收率低且生产成本高[5-8]。因此,加强钴回收利用技术研究,提高钴资源回收利用率,降低对国外钴资源依赖具有重要意义[9]
冀中南某硫钴精矿主要成分为黄铁矿,含少量磁铁矿、磁黄铁矿,非金属矿物主要为石膏、石英及透辉石等,未发现钴的独立矿物。钴元素主要以类质同象赋存于黄铁矿中,质量分数44.21%~61.30%;黄铜矿和磁黄铁矿中钴元素占比约19%和12%;脉石矿物中普遍含有钴元素,但十分微量,占比2.89%。本文针对该硫钴精矿性质特点,采用焙烧-浸出的方法提取其中钴元素,为实现硫钴精矿综合利用提供技术依据。
硫钴精矿取自冀中南某铁矿选矿厂,矿样呈浅黑色,带有金属光泽。硫钴精矿化学多元素分析结果见表1,X射线衍射分析图谱见图1。硫钴精矿中主要矿物为黄铁矿、石英、金云母,含有少量石膏、绿泥石。
试验设备包括马弗炉、电子恒温水浴锅、电动搅拌器、电子天平、循环水式真空泵、红外光谱仪、X射线衍射分析仪、扫描电镜等。
试验试剂包括浓硫酸和亚硫酸钠,均为分析纯。
试验方法:将硫钴精矿和焙烧助剂亚硫酸钠混合均匀后置于焙烧碗中,然后将焙烧碗放入马弗炉进行焙烧。焙烧完成后,焙烧矿用硫酸溶液在恒温水浴锅中进行搅拌浸出,浸出结束后用循环水式真空泵进行固液分离,用清水洗涤浸出渣,滤液和滤渣分别进行化验分析,计算钴浸出率。
试验原理:硫钴精矿添加助剂氧化焙烧后,焙烧矿中钴主要以可溶性钴形式存在,当局部温度过高及存在大量氧化铁矿物时,氧化钴将生成亚铁酸钴。采用硫酸作为浸出剂时,钴矿物主要发生如下化学反应[10]
焙烧助剂亚硫酸钠用量为硫钴精矿质量的10%、硫钴精矿细度为-0.074 mm粒级占70%、焙烧时间3 h、硫酸用量为硫钴精矿质量的20%、浸出液固比3∶1、浸出温度90 ℃、浸出时间2 h时,焙烧温度对钴浸出率的影响见图2。从图2可以看出,钴浸出率随着焙烧温度升高先增加后快速下降,焙烧温度620 ℃时钴浸出率达到峰值85.41%。确定适宜的焙烧温度为620 ℃。
焙烧温度620 ℃,其他条件不变,焙烧助剂亚硫酸钠用量对钴浸出率的影响见图3。从图3可以看出,随着亚硫酸钠用量增加,钴浸出率迅速提高,亚硫酸钠用量为硫钴精矿质量的5.0%时,钴浸出率为84.33%;再增加亚硫酸钠用量,钴浸出率增幅很小。确定适宜的亚硫酸钠用量为5.0%。
亚硫酸钠用量为硫钴精矿质量的5.0%,其他条件不变,硫钴精矿细度对钴浸出率的影响见图4。从图4可以看出,随着硫钴精矿细度增加,钴浸出率逐渐升高,-0.074 mm粒级占80%时,钴浸出率为85.93%。再提高硫钴精矿细度,钴浸出率反而小幅下降。确定适宜的硫钴精矿细度为-0.074 mm粒级占80%。
硫钴精矿细度-0.074 mm粒级占80%,其他条件不变,焙烧时间对钴浸出率的影响见图5。从图5可以看出,增加焙烧时间有利于提高钴浸出率。焙烧时间3 h时,钴浸出率为85.87%;再增加焙烧时间,钴浸出率下降。确定适宜的焙烧时间为3 h。
焙烧时间3 h,其他条件不变,浸出硫酸用量对钴浸出率的影响见图6。从图6可以看出,随着硫酸用量增加,钴浸出率快速提高。硫酸用量为硫钴精矿质量的20%时,钴浸出率为85.35%;再增加硫酸用量,钴浸出率变化不大。确定适宜的硫酸用量为硫钴精矿质量的20%。
硫酸用量为硫钴精矿质量的20%,其他条件不变,浸出液固比对钴浸出率的影响见图7。从图7可以看出,随着浸出液固比增加,钴浸出率逐渐提高。浸出液固比为2∶1时,钴浸出率为85.85%;再提高浸出液固比,钴浸出率增加很少。确定适宜的浸出液固比为2∶1。
根据单因素实验结果,在硫钴精矿细度为-0.074 mm粒级占80%、焙烧助剂亚硫酸钠用量为硫钴精矿质量的5.0%、焙烧温度620 ℃、焙烧时间3 h、硫酸用量为硫钴精矿的20%、浸出温度90 ℃、浸出液固比2∶1、浸出时间2 h条件下进行了优化条件试验,钴浸出率为85.85%。
硫钴精矿及焙烧矿红外光谱和形貌分析结果分别见图8图9。硫钴精矿红外光谱分析结果表明,矿石中主要成分为含硫铁矿,1 143、1 115、1 015 cm-1处为各类FeSO4、FeS、FeS2的特征振动峰,说明矿石中含有这3种成分,其中1143 cm-1处更接近FeS、1 114 cm-1处更接近FeSO4、1015 cm-1处更接近FeS2。焙烧矿红外光谱分析结果表明,539、467 cm-1处为Fe2O3中Fe—O特征峰,说明矿石中含有赤铁矿(Fe2O3)。
黄铁矿焙烧过程中,随着焙烧温度升高,黄铁矿发生如下氧化反应:
当温度升高到610 ℃左右时,式(4)中硫化铁继续发生氧化反应[12],生成Fe2O3
1)硫钴精矿中钴元素主要以类质同象形式赋存于黄铁矿中,质量分数44.21%~61.30%,黄铜矿和磁黄铁矿中钴元素占比分别为19%和12%。
2)硫钴精矿在细度为-0.074 mm粒级占80%、焙烧助剂亚硫酸钠用量为硫钴精矿质量的5.0%、焙烧温度620 ℃、焙烧时间3 h、硫酸用量为硫钴精矿质量的20%、浸出温度90 ℃、液固比2∶1、浸出时间2 h条件下,钴浸出率为85.85%。
