The dissolution characteristics and mechanism of heavy metal ions (As, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb) and Na+, K+ in red mud were studied in a simulated natural environment. The results show that the dissolution of heavy metal ions, Na+ and K+ out of red mud can be promoted by reducing pH value, increasing contact time, raising leaching temperature, and increasing liquid-solid ratio. After dissolution, the characteristic peak values of calcite, magnesium chlorite, gosilicate and triploidite significantly become lower, and elements of As, Cr, Ni, Cu, Mn, Na and K, after dissolution out of red mud, exist in the forms of As2O3, Cr3+, NiO, CuO, MnO, Na+ and K+.

模拟自然环境,研究了赤泥中重金属离子(As、Cr、Cu、Mn、Ni、Pb)和Na+、K+的溶出特性和机制。结果表明,降低pH值、增加接触时间、升高浸出温度和增大液固比,可促进赤泥中重金属离子和Na+、K+的溶出;溶出后方解石、镁绿泥石、戈硅钠铝石、磷锰铁矿等矿物的特征峰显著减弱,溶出赤泥中As、Cr、Ni、Cu、Mn、Na、K元素以As2O3、Cr3+、NiO、CuO、MnO、Na+、K+形式存在。

The dissolution characteristics and mechanism of heavy metal ions (As, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb) and Na+, K+ in red mud were studied in a simulated natural environment. The results show that the dissolution of heavy metal ions, Na+ and K+ out of red mud can be promoted by reducing pH value, increasing contact time, raising leaching temperature, and increasing liquid-solid ratio. After dissolution, the characteristic peak values of calcite, magnesium chlorite, gosilicate and triploidite significantly become lower, and elements of As, Cr, Ni, Cu, Mn, Na and K, after dissolution out of red mud, exist in the forms of As2O3, Cr3+, NiO, CuO, MnO, Na+ and K+.

铝土矿是生产氧化铝进而制备金属铝的主要原料。我国铝土矿资源禀赋差[1],每生产1 t氧化铝,产生赤泥约1~1.8 t[2]。赤泥是一种重要的次生矿物资源,其中包含大量铝、铁、钛、硅及一定数量铬、锰、铅等重金属元素[3]。赤泥物相组成复杂、粒度小、比表面积大、碱性高、重金属含量较高,制约了其大规模应用[4]。赤泥堆存,既占用土地,又浪费资源,且与雨水接触会导致重金属等有毒组分释放到地下水以及周围土壤中,对当地生态系统造成严重破坏[5]。研究自然环境下赤泥中重金属的释放特性和溶出机制对污染控制具有重要意义。
以往对赤泥的研究主要集中在有用元素的回收利用[6]和赤泥改性制作胶凝材料[7]等方面,关于在自然环境下赤泥中重金属离子和钠、钾元素的释放特征和化学形态转化的研究较少。本文以露天堆放的赤泥为研究对象,模拟不同自然环境下雨水pH值、液固比、温度对金属元素溶出的影响,分析重金属元素及Na+、K+的释放特征及其化学形态转变,探究赤泥在模拟自然环境下的金属离子溶出量及溶出机制。
试验用赤泥样品在室温下风干至恒重,然后研磨粉碎至1 mm以下,备用。
赤泥原始pH值为9.95,呈碱性。赤泥原样化学组成见表1,XRD图谱见图1。赤泥原样中含量较高、对环境有危害的重金属元素为Cr、Mn、Pb、Ni、Cu、As、Zn、Cd,此外还含有大量Na+、K+等碱金属离子。
图1可知,赤泥主要由三水铝石Al(OH)3、针铁矿FeO(OH)、锐钛矿TiO2、石英SiO2、方解石CaCO4、钙霞石Na6(Al6Si6O24)(CaCO3)(H2O)2等物相组成,此外还含有镁绿泥石(Mg2Al)(AlSiO5(OH)4)、戈硅钠铝石Ca0.6Na2.6K2.2Al6Si10O32、绿泥石(Mg4.715Al0.694Fe0.269-Cr0.128Ni0.011)(Si3.05Al0.944)O10(OH)8、磷锌铜矿(Cu0.5-Zn0.52ZnPO4(OH)3(H2O)2等衍生矿物存在。镁绿泥石和方解石具有尖锐特征峰、结晶度好。Na、K元素的溶出主要与硅酸盐矿物戈硅钠铝石有关,Ni和Cr等元素的溶出主要与绿泥石有关,Cu元素的溶出与磷锌铜矿相关,Pb、As元素的溶出与赤泥中磷锰铁矿有关。
试验用主要试剂包括硫酸、硝酸、盐酸、高氯酸、氢氟酸、氢氧化钠等,均为分析纯试剂。
以硫酸∶硝酸(4∶1)配置模拟酸性雨水,并以此为浸出剂[8],在恒温磁力搅拌器中进行分批浸出试验。根据贵州省气象局发布的《贵州省2022年度气候影响评价》以及相关文献[9],确定主要影响因素为浸出时间、液固比、浸出温度和模拟酸雨pH值等,并设计了试验参数,详见表2。其中pH=3.1对应强酸雨,pH=4.6对应临界酸雨,pH=5.1对应典型雨水,pH=7.0对应中性雨水。所有试验均使用同一批赤泥。每次分批浸出试验后以真空抽滤机过滤,浸出渣冲洗干净后于60 ℃烘干,分析其中重金属及Na+、K+离子含量。
通过全量消解方法消解后使用ICP-AES测定浸出渣中各元素(Cr、Mn、Pb、Ni、Cu、As、Na和K)含量;通过XRD鉴定原样和溶出后赤泥物相组成;使用SEM-EDS鉴定原样和溶出后赤泥微观结构形态;使用XPS分析获得浸出前后所研究元素的组成和价态信息。
按液固比10∶1配加浸出剂(酸雨)和赤泥,置于聚四氟乙烯烧杯中,25 ℃下,在恒温磁力搅拌器中以1 600 r/min搅拌,不同pH值和接触时间条件下赤泥浸出渣中重金属离子与Na+、K+含量的变化如图2所示。由图2可知,浸出残渣中各离子浓度随着浸出剂pH值升高而增加,随着浸出时间延长而降低。H+破坏了赤泥的矿物表面,进而溶解并最终释放出重金属离子和Na+、K+。低pH值条件下浸出渣中重金属剩余量低于高pH值条件。浸出剂pH值越低,说明可与其他阳离子交换的H+越多。赤泥在低pH值酸雨中会释放重金属离子和Na+、K+,污染下伏土壤和地下水。另一方面,金属阳离子溶出量在接触时间360 min时基本达到峰值,说明露天堆放的赤泥受到雨水长期侵蚀后会导致下伏土壤和地下水中重金属和碱金属离子浓度增加。
按液固比10∶1配加浸出剂(酸雨)和赤泥,置于聚四氟乙烯烧杯中,调整溶液pH=5.1,在恒温磁力搅拌器中以1 600 r/min搅拌,不同浸出温度下赤泥浸出渣中重金属离子与Na+、K+含量的变化如图3所示。由图3可知,随着浸出温度升高,赤泥浸出渣中重金属离子及Na+、K+浓度逐渐降低,其中Na+、K+浓度变化程度更大。总体而言,高温能显著促进重金属离子和Na+、K+的溶出。这可能与高温可以极大地促进扩散、传质反应进程,导致各溶解度增加有关。但由于不同重金属元素在赤泥中的分布形态不同,温度对不同形态重金属元素溶出的影响也不同[10]
浸出温度25 ℃,pH=5.1,在恒温磁力搅拌器中以1 600 r/min搅拌,不同液固比下赤泥浸出渣中重金属离子及Na+、K+含量的变化如图4所示。由图4可知,浸出渣中重金属离子与Na+、K+浓度随着液固比增加而降低。当液固比从5∶1增加到10∶1时,浸出渣中重金属离子及Na+、K+浓度显著降低。这是因为液固比较低时,溶液黏度大、流动性差,离子浓度更高,不利于各离子的溶解和扩散。较高的液固比能降低溶液黏度、增强流动性,大大促进了液固界面的传质作用,离子更容易溶出。
pH=5.1,液固比10∶1,浸出温度25 ℃,接触时间360 min,在恒温磁力搅拌器中以1 600 r/min搅拌浸出,浸出前后赤泥的SEM图谱如图5所示。由图5可知,浸出前赤泥原样多为块状、层状颗粒,经过模拟酸雨浸出后赤泥颗粒变得松散,一些块状颗粒消失,转变为小颗粒,层状结构转变为薄层状。浸出前颗粒大小形状各不相同,浸出后多为相似大小的细粒。这表明,模拟酸雨浸出过程可以溶解赤泥颗粒,从而破坏矿物表面,使重金属离子及Na+、K+等溶出。
赤泥原样中重金属离子和碱金属离子的SEM-EDS面扫图谱见图6。由图6可知,Cr、Ni、Mn在赤泥原样中的分布是大量且均匀的,As、Pb、Cu、Na、K的分布是大量而不均匀的,但分布相似。这表明含有Cr、Ni、Mn元素的物相分布在一起,含有As、Pb、Cu、Na、K的物相分布在一起。
浸出前后赤泥XRD光谱见图7。由图7可知,与赤泥原样相比,浸出后赤泥样品各相组分及其峰位强度发生了显著变化。例如,赤泥中方解石、镁绿泥石、戈硅钠铝石和磷锰铁矿等矿物的峰值强度明显减弱。这表明矿物受到H+的攻击,削弱了它们的化学键。因此,化学键的溶解可能导致重金属离子及Na+、K+的释放,从而在酸性条件下表现出高浓度浸出。
赤泥中As2p、Cr2p、Ni2p、Pb4f、Cu2p、Mn2p、Na1s和K2p的详细XPS光谱见图8。浸出前赤泥As2p5/2结合能出现在43.88 eV,这与As在As2O3中的结合能相匹配。浸出后As2p5/2结合能出现在43.83 eV,与原样结合能相似,表示在浸出过程中As的价态没有改变。浸出前赤泥Cr2p结合能出现在577.98 eV和587.88 eV,浸出后Cr2p结合能出现在576.53 eV和585.63 eV,对应于Cr2O3(Cr3+)。酸性溶液可以加速氢氧化物和硅酸盐相的溶解,导致Cr的释放。
浸出前Ni2p结合能出现在862.93 eV和880.08 eV,与Ni(OH)2结合能相匹配;浸出后,Ni2p3/2和Ni2p1/2结合能分别出现在857.63 eV和876.18 eV,与NiO的结合能相符。说明浸出后赤泥中部分氢氧化镍可能会转变为氧化镍。赤泥原样的Pb4f结合能出现在138.18 eV和143.38 eV,与Pb在PbSO4中的结合能相匹配;浸出后赤泥Pb4f5/2和Pb4f7/2分别出现在137.83 eV和142.73 eV,与原样中观察到的非常相似,表明Pb价态没有改变,这可能归因于PbSO4在酸性条件下的溶解度有限。
赤泥原样Cu2p结合能出现在933.28 eV和954.08 eV,与Cu在CuO中的结合能相匹配;浸出后赤泥Cu2p1/2和Cu2p3/2结合能分别出现在934.58 eV和955.33 eV,表明Cu价态没有改变,但可能发生氧化物与氢氧化物的转变。赤泥原样Mn2p结合能出现在639.78 eV和650.63 eV,与MnO光谱数据一致;浸出后赤泥Mn2p1/2和Mn2p3/2分别出现在643.48 eV和654.38 eV,与MnO2结合能相匹配,说明浸出后原样中Mn2+可能会被氧化成Mn4+。pH=3.1时,MnO成为控制Mn溶解度的矿物相。
浸出前Na1s结合能出现在1 071.93 eV,浸出后Na1s结合能出现在1 072.03 eV。浸出前K2p结合能出现在293.13 eV和296.13eV,浸出后K2p结合能出现在293.13 eV和295.88eV,与钾盐结合能相符。浸出前后Na、K结合能无明显变化,说明浸出前后无价态转变。通过图像可以看出,浸出前后峰面积有明显变化,可能与硅酸盐矿物(戈硅钠铝石)在酸性条件下易溶解有关。
浸出后赤泥中Ni、Mn元素结合能均发生了明显的峰位置变化,表明Ni、Mn在赤泥与酸雨接触过程中发生了物理化学反应,改变了它们原有的价态和配位环境。As、Cr、Cu、Pb、Na、K元素浸出后无价态变化,表明它们在浸出过程中发生了复分解反应。
1)模拟赤泥在自然环境下的溶出试验结果表明,重金属离子和Na+、K+的溶出量与雨水pH值、温度、液固比和接触时间高度相关,且随着pH值降低、接触时间增加、温度升高与液固比增大,赤泥中各离子溶出量总体呈上升趋势。
2)浸出后赤泥形态结构发生了明显变化,矿物表面被破坏,导致重金属离子和Na+、K+的溶出;浸出后赤泥方解石、镁绿泥石、戈硅钠铝石和磷锰铁矿等物相的峰值强度显著减弱;此外,浸出后赤泥中As、Cr、Ni、Cu、Mn、Na、K可能以As2O3、Cr3+、NiO、CuO、MnO、Na+、K+形式存在。赤泥中各元素含量、赋存状态和存在形式的差异性造成了其在自然环境下溶出特性的差异。
