Effects of quenching and tempering at different temperatures on the microstructure and hardness of annealed W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel were studied by means of OM, SEM, XRD analysis and hardness test. The results show that the microstructure of quenched W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel is mainly composed of martensite, MC carbide rich in V, W and Mo, and M6C carbide rich in W and Mo, as well as residual austenite. As tempering temperature rises, the carbide in the microstructure of W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel grows in size, and the hardness decreases after an initial increase. After quenching at 1 160 ℃ plus three times of tempering at 540 ℃, W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel has its carbide become smaller and evenly distributed, and its residual austenite almost eliminated, showing the hardness up to 64.2HRC.

采用OM、SEM、XRD分析,硬度测试等手段研究了不同温度下淬火、回火对退火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织与硬度的影响。结果表明,淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织主要为马氏体,富含V、W、Mo的MC碳化物,富含W、Mo的M6C碳化物和残余奥氏体;随着回火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中的碳化物尺寸增大,硬度先升高后降低;1 160 ℃淬火+540 ℃回火(3次)的W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中碳化物尺寸细小、分布均匀,残余奥氏体基本得到消除,硬度达到64.2HRC。

采用OM、SEM、XRD分析,硬度测试等手段研究了不同温度下淬火、回火对退火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织与硬度的影响。结果表明,淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织主要为马氏体,富含V、W、Mo的MC碳化物,富含W、Mo的M6C碳化物和残余奥氏体;随着回火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中的碳化物尺寸增大,硬度先升高后降低;1 160 ℃淬火+540 ℃回火(3次)的W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中碳化物尺寸细小、分布均匀,残余奥氏体基本得到消除,硬度达到64.2HRC。

Effects of quenching and tempering at different temperatures on the microstructure and hardness of annealed W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel were studied by means of OM, SEM, XRD analysis and hardness test. The results show that the microstructure of quenched W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel is mainly composed of martensite, MC carbide rich in V, W and Mo, and M6C carbide rich in W and Mo, as well as residual austenite. As tempering temperature rises, the carbide in the microstructure of W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel grows in size, and the hardness decreases after an initial increase. After quenching at 1 160 ℃ plus three times of tempering at 540 ℃, W6Mo5Cr4V2 steel has its carbide become smaller and evenly distributed, and its residual austenite almost eliminated, showing the hardness up to 64.2HRC.

高速工具钢又称高速钢,是经过特殊热处理后兼具高硬度和高耐磨性的耐热耐磨钢种,多用于制造机加工刀具。当前我国通用的高速钢以W系和W-Mo系为主,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢作为典型的W-Mo系高速钢,碳化物均匀性好,力学性能优良,已成为当前我国广泛应用的高速钢种之一[1-2]。合适的热处理工艺不但可以降低W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中残余奥氏体含量,避免残余奥氏体转变为脆性较高的马氏体,同时还对W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中碳化物数量、尺寸和分布等有重要影响,通过热处理可以改善W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的综合力学性能,提升其使用寿命。近年来一些学者对W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的热处理工艺进行了较多研究,并取得了一些成果[3-4]。硬度高和耐磨性好是W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的显著优点,合适的淬火工艺可使W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中的碳化物稳定分布在基体中,从而提高其硬度,合适的回火工艺可以使W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中的合金碳化物弥散析出,消除组织中的残余奥氏体,形成稳定的组织,提升材料的综合性能。本文研究了淬火、回火工艺对W6Mo5Cr4V2钢微观组织与硬度的影响规律,研究成果可为W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的实际生产应用提供参考依据。
试验用钢为退火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢棒材,实测其化学成分如表1所示。
合适的淬火既要保证W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中粗大的碳化物充分溶入基体,又要保证其晶粒不发生粗化。后续的回火可使W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中析出细小、弥散的碳化物,使W6Mo5Cr4V2钢具有更高的硬度和更优的耐磨性。结合文献[3]、[5]的相关研究成果设计本次W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的淬火、回火试验,具体工艺为:采用高温箱式电阻炉将退火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢试样分别加热到1 140、1 160、1 180、1 200 ℃并保温30 min,再油淬,得到淬火态样品,取样测试其硬度并对其微观组织进行观察;采用箱式电阻炉将淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢分别加热到510、540、570、600 ℃,均回火处理3次,每次回火保温1 h,空冷,得到回火态样品,最终通过微观组织观察和硬度测试确定W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的最佳回火工艺。
采用THR-150DX洛氏硬度计测试淬火态和回火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度,每种试样测量7个硬度点,取平均值为测试结果,加载载荷150 kg,保荷时间30 s。在Axiover-200 MAT光学显微镜和Sirion 2000型扫描电子显微镜上观察W6Mo5Cr4V2钢淬火态和回火态试样的微观组织形貌,并用EDS能谱仪分析淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中碳化物成分。采用Empyrean型X射线衍射仪分析W6Mo5Cr4V2钢试样物相。
图1为淬火温度对W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度的影响。由图1可见,随着淬火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度先升高后降低。淬火温度1 160 ℃时,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的硬度最高,为66.5HRC。1 140 ℃淬火时,由于淬火温度较低,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中的碳化物溶解有限,固溶不充分,所以W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的硬度较低。淬火温度升高到1 160 ℃时,元素的扩展能力增强,C与合金元素更充分地溶入基体,固溶效果较好。淬火温度继续升高到1 180和1 200 ℃时,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中碳化物大量溶解,对晶界钉扎效果减弱,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的晶粒开始长大粗化,最终使得W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度开始下降。因此,确定W6Mo5Cr4V2钢适宜的淬火温度为1 160 ℃。
图2为1 160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的SEM组织。由图2可见,淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织主要为马氏体、残余奥氏体和碳化物,结合文献[5]结果可确定,钢中的碳化物主要为MC、M6C。对1 160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中MC、M6C碳化物进行EDS能谱分析,结果见图3。由图3可见:W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中MC碳化物中V元素含量极高,W元素、Mo元素含量次之;M6C碳化物中W元素含量极高,其次是Mo元素。
回火温度对1 160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度的影响见图4。由图4可见,随着回火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度先升高后降低。回火温度540 ℃时,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢硬度最高,为64.2HRC。
图5为不同回火温度下W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的显微组织。由图5可见,1 160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢经过回火处理后组织中析出了大量弥散碳化物。在510~600 ℃区间,随着回火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中碳化物含量逐渐提高,碳化物尺寸增大,540 ℃回火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中碳化物尺寸细小、分布均匀。
图6为1 160 ℃淬火和1 160 ℃淬火+540 ℃回火(3次)W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的XRD图谱。由图6可见,1 160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的XRD图谱中残余奥氏体衍射峰较为明显,而回火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的XRD图谱中已基本无奥氏体衍射峰,由此可知,回火后,淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢中的残余奥氏体基本得到消除[6-9],转变为马氏体。
1)淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织主要为马氏体,富含V、W、Mo元素的MC碳化物,富含W、Mo元素的M6C碳化物和残余奥氏体。W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的最佳淬火温度为1 160 ℃,此时其硬度为66.5HRC。
2)随着回火温度升高,W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中碳化物含量逐渐提高,碳化物尺寸增大,540 ℃回火的W6Mo5Cr4V2钢组织中碳化物尺寸细小、分布均匀。
3)1160 ℃淬火态W6Mo5Cr4V2钢经过3次540 ℃回火处理后,其组织为马氏体、MC和M6C碳化物,硬度为64.2HRC。W6Mo5Cr4V2钢的最佳热处理工艺为:1 160 ℃×30 min淬火+540 ℃×1 h回火(3次)。
