Platinum group metals (PGMs) occurs as associated elements in Jinchuan copper-nickel ores and are always recovered together with copper and nickel by flotation. Nevertheless, substantial amounts of PGMs are still lost into tailings, leading to tailings containing 0.07 g/t Pt, 0.06 g/t Pd, alongside 0.074 5 g/t Au and 5.54 g/t Ag. It is found that platinum and palladium mainly exist in the forms of michenerite, merenskyite, and Pd- and Pt-bearing bismuthotelluride minerals, finely disseminated and mostly encapsulated by silicate gangue, valleriite, pyrrhotite and other minerals. With those features taken into consideration, experimental investigations on PGM enrichment were carried out by multi-cycle gravity concentration with fabric-lined sluice. The results show that after five cycles of gravity concentration via fabric-lined sluice followed by grinding and re-concentration, the final tailings are obtained with the grades of Pt and Au decreased to 0.02 g/t and 0.05 g/t at recoveries of 74.48% and 53.04%, respectively. A combined separation process consisting of gravity concentration with fabric-lined sluice, shaking table concentration and low-intensity magnetic separation can lead to Pd primarily enriched into magnetic products, while Pt and Au concentrated in shaking table concentrates. This provides a feasible technical idea and research direction for the efficient recovery and utilization of PGMs in this type of tailings.

金川铜镍矿中伴生铂族金属，浮选铜、镍时一并回收铂族金属，但仍有大量铂族金属损失于尾矿中，尾矿中Pt、Pd品位分别为0.07、0.06 g/t，还含有Au 0.0745 g/t，Ag 5.54 g/t。铂、钯主要以铋钯矿、铋碲钯矿、含钯或含铂铋碲矿物赋存，嵌布粒度极细，多被硅酸盐脉石、墨铜矿、磁黄铁矿等包裹。针对该尾矿特性，进行了多次循环铺布溜槽富集回收铂族金属的试验研究，结果表明，经铺布溜槽5次循环重选后磨矿-再选，最终尾矿中Pt、Au品位分别降至0.02、0.05 g/t，Pt、Au回收率分别为74.48%、53.04%。铺布溜槽重选-摇床重选-弱磁选联合选别结果表明，Pd主要富集于磁性产品中，Au主要富集于摇床精矿中，这为该类尾矿中铂族金属高效回收利用提供了可行的技术思路与研发方向。
