The museums have been featured two core functions as transmission of civilization and education. In summary, this paper argues contemporary museum as a heritage of human history and culture, a place to reproduce the development of social civilization in addition to exhibition, research, leisure, more importantly rich in historical interpretation of the whole society, education, promotion and social responsibility. The concept of museum should focus on promoting national awareness and enhance national unity; interest in science and technology education.

古往今来，博物馆作为文化圣地，一直在围绕传承文明和教育大众这两个核心功能不断演化。当代博物馆的社会教育价值越来越被决策者们从其他功能中提炼出来，引导其成为未来博物馆重点开发的核心价值。当代博物馆作为传承人类历史文化、重现社会文明发展的场所，除丰富的展览展示内容、研究、休闲等功能外，更重要的是赋有在全社会进行历史诠释、教育推广、思想传递的社会责任和使命。而科技类博物馆的教育理念应围绕普及特色专业知识，扩大受众认知领域；宣传国家意识，增强民族凝聚力；关注科技兴趣教育，吸引未来人才进入等方面深入挖掘。同时，未来博物馆应充分实现与学校教育资源的融合、建立稳固的合作关系；策划和实施一系列高效有趣、具有针对性的科普活动方案；充分发挥老师及家长在辅助教育中的能动作用，以推动博物馆社会教育功能的实现。
