By sorting out historical documents, this paper studied the scientific communication mode of the first private scientific research institute in Western China from 1930 to 1938. Research shows that science institutes in western China brought about significant effects of science communication in Beibei of Chongqing city and other areas in Chongqing city and Sichuan province in such a short period of time, the reason is that science institutes there applied diversified and multi-layered ways for popularization of science in a from top to down manner from its starting days, a science center which radiated across the region thus came into being. Thanks to those efforts, a strong and radiating nexus of science communication, with Beibei as its center, was established, which provides reference for science communication currently.

通过整理史料，对我国第一家民办科学研究机构——中国西部科学院从1930年成立到1938年这一时期的科学传播方式进行了研究。研究表明，西部科学院之所以能在短时期内对当时的重庆北碚乃至川渝地区都产生了显著的科学传播效果，是因为西部科学院从成立开始就至上而下采用多样化和多层次的科学传播方式传播科学知识，形成了具有较强辐射效应的科学传播中心，以北碚为中心构建了强有力的科学传播网络，对当今的科学传播工作提供了有益的借鉴与启示。
