To some extent, officials' level of understanding modern science and technology could have influence on their decision-making process. Therefore, officials have been one of the most important groups of audiences of science popularization. However, as it is difficult to arrange the schedule, the scale of science popularization activities targeting officials is usually small. But “The Series of 100 Lectures Given by 100 CAS Members” in 1996, which was organized by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) was a big activity. This paper investigated the historical process of the activity in order to make suggestions to the future science popularization activities.

领导干部对现代科学技术的了解能够在一定程度上影响决策的科学化程度，因此领导干部一直是科普活动的重要受众群体，也是科普工作的重点人群之一。但由于领导干部一般较难协调，因此面向领导干部的科普活动往往规模较小。但在1996年，由中国科协、中国科学院、中国工程院联合举办的“百名院士百场科技系列报告会”却是一个少见的大规模面向领导干部的科普活动。本文较为系统地梳理了这一活动的过程，希望能够为今后更好地开展科普活动提供经验与借鉴。
