To address the issues of accuracy degradation and computational delay in extracting small spot centers in the field of industrial high⁃speed visual measurement, a high⁃speed real⁃time spot localization method for small⁃sized spots is proposed. A Region of Interest (ROI) extraction algorithm based on sliding window brightness consistency is designed and implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to improve detection speed. A small spot center extraction algorithm combining distance⁃weighted least⁃square fitting and a Signal⁃to⁃Noise Ratio (SNR)⁃based adaptive weight adjustment mechanism is introduced to enhance the localization robustness of small spots under varying lighting and noise conditions. Experimental results show that the proposed method has achieved a spot center localization error of not more than 0.05 pixels, with a frame rate of 160 frames per second, significantly outperforming traditional methods in processing speed. This method to a great extent meets the high⁃precision real⁃time localization requirements of small spot centers in industrial high⁃speed visual measurement.

为解决工业高速视觉测量领域中提取微小光斑中心时存在的精度下降和计算延迟问题,提出一种面向小尺寸光斑的高速实时光斑定位方法。在现场可编程逻辑门阵列中设计并构建基于滑动窗口亮度一致性的感兴趣区域提取算法,提升检测速度。设置距离加权最小二乘拟合法和基于信噪比的自适应权重调节机制相结合的微小光斑中心提取算法,提升微小光斑在光照变化和噪声条件下的定位鲁棒性,实现快速且高精度的小尺寸光斑中心定位。实验结果表明:利用该方法进行小尺寸光斑提取时,光斑中心定位误差不超过0.05 pixels,帧率达160 帧 / 秒,相较传统方法处理速度明显提升。该方法能够有效满足工业高速视觉测量领域的微小光斑中心高精度实时定位需求。

为解决工业高速视觉测量领域中提取微小光斑中心时存在的精度下降和计算延迟问题,提出一种面向小尺寸光斑的高速实时光斑定位方法。在现场可编程逻辑门阵列中设计并构建基于滑动窗口亮度一致性的感兴趣区域提取算法,提升检测速度。设置距离加权最小二乘拟合法和基于信噪比的自适应权重调节机制相结合的微小光斑中心提取算法,提升微小光斑在光照变化和噪声条件下的定位鲁棒性,实现快速且高精度的小尺寸光斑中心定位。实验结果表明:利用该方法进行小尺寸光斑提取时,光斑中心定位误差不超过0.05 pixels,帧率达160 帧 / 秒,相较传统方法处理速度明显提升。该方法能够有效满足工业高速视觉测量领域的微小光斑中心高精度实时定位需求。

To address the issues of accuracy degradation and computational delay in extracting small spot centers in the field of industrial high⁃speed visual measurement, a high⁃speed real⁃time spot localization method for small⁃sized spots is proposed. A Region of Interest (ROI) extraction algorithm based on sliding window brightness consistency is designed and implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to improve detection speed. A small spot center extraction algorithm combining distance⁃weighted least⁃square fitting and a Signal⁃to⁃Noise Ratio (SNR)⁃based adaptive weight adjustment mechanism is introduced to enhance the localization robustness of small spots under varying lighting and noise conditions. Experimental results show that the proposed method has achieved a spot center localization error of not more than 0.05 pixels, with a frame rate of 160 frames per second, significantly outperforming traditional methods in processing speed. This method to a great extent meets the high⁃precision real⁃time localization requirements of small spot centers in industrial high⁃speed visual measurement.

在图像识别领域,小尺寸光斑一般指直径在10 pixels以内的光斑,多出现在激光测量、长距离测量、微小目标识别等领域1-5。精确测量小尺寸光斑参数是精密测量领域的核心需求之一。本文所研究的小尺寸光斑具体指小尺寸近圆形光斑,其存在因光学系统像差、环境扰动等因素导致的轻微形态偏差。以长距离测量中的合作靶标测量为例,合作靶标的测量距离多为1 ~ 20 m,光斑的尺寸、亮度变化剧烈,此外受相机和镜头的分辨力限制、散斑效应、噪声干扰、长距离传输的光能量衰减、气流扰动等因素影响,小尺寸光斑的边缘信息、灰度分布存在模糊变形问题,导致测量精度降低。常规图像处理算法主要应用于近距离测量或者大尺寸目标测量,不适用于长距离测量中的高精度光斑定位。因此,需要研究小尺寸光斑中心坐标高精度定位算法。
目前主流的高精度光斑定位算法可以分为灰度类算法6-8、边缘拟合类算法9-12和深度学习算法13。灰度类算法主要包括灰度质心法、二维高斯拟合法等,此类算法的核心原理是寻找目标灰度梯度变化最平缓的位置坐标,适用于灰度不饱和的目标定位14。边缘拟合类算法包括圆拟合法、椭圆拟合法等,此类算法的核心原理是在边缘检测算法的基础上结合形状拟合算法以寻找规则形状的中心点,适用于形状规则的目标定位15。灰度类算法与边缘拟合类算法属于传统数字图像处理方法,原理清晰,容易实现嵌入式部署,但单一算法的应用要求苛刻,若想实现复杂图像中的目标准确定位,通常需要多种算法结合应用,加剧了运行硬件的计算负担。深度学习算法是近些年的热门研究领域,但理论基础尚未完全解析明确,算法复杂度高、泛化能力差。目前深度学习算法主要用于测量分布在自然场景中的中大型目标,基于该类方法进行小目标检测时,一般以常规检测模型为基础,通过添加网络层数、优化复杂特征融合过程等方式,提升模型对小目标的检测性能16-18
无论是传统算法还是深度学习算法,若想实现高精度的目标定位,算法结构均较为复杂,且运行实时性较差。为兼顾定位精度与运行速度,研究人员一般将嵌入式开发平台作为高效研发硬件的首选。嵌入式开发平台具有逻辑结构简单、功耗低、实时性高等优点,广泛应用于消费电子、物联网等领域19。适用于图像处理的嵌入式开发平台主要包括异构系统芯片(System on Chip, SoC)、图形处理单元(Graphics Processing Unit, GPU)、现场可编程门阵列(Field Programmable Gate Array, FPGA)。FPGA是一套可编程的硬件电路系统,具备极高的并行处理能力、极低的信号延迟,近年来已有诸多研究团队利用FPGA实现高性能图像处理。
PANOUSOPOULOS V等人20基于Zynq-7020 FPGA平台设计了一套星敏感器处理架构,其采用快速高斯拟合策略实现数据流高效处理,系统吞吐率达到1.9 Gbit / s,单帧处理时延控制在26 ms以内。张旭等人21基于质心计算的分解特性设计了分解质心计算方法,实现了光斑质心的无存储计算,避免了对原始图像数据的全局存储需求。但文献[20-21]的方法在进行小直径光斑定位时难以保障解算精度。于文波等人22提出了一种面向多路输入的快速星点质心提取算法,并在FPGA平台上进行了验证,该算法能够显著提升大幅面图像的最大帧率,同时降低片上存储资源的消耗,但不适用于对定位精度要求较高的场景。MENG X S等人23将平方加权质心方法与插值策略结合,实现了基于FPGA的硬件部署,有效提升了系统的检测精度,但该方案在稳定性方面仍有改进空间,且仅适用于单光斑场景。
现有研究在提升图像处理速度和资源效率方面取得了积极进展,但在小尺寸光斑提取精度及测量实时性方面仍存在局限。针对小尺寸光斑高精度实时定位难题,本文基于FPGA平台设计了一套完整的光斑中心高速提取系统,该系统通过滑动窗口检测与邻域非极大值抑制技术实现光斑区域的快速粗定位,结合简化卡尔曼滤波完成帧间轨迹预测与感兴趣区域(Region of Interest, ROI)动态生成,并利用异步先进先出(First⁃In⁃First⁃Out, FIFO)实现跨时钟域数据传输,最终采用自适应加权高斯拟合方法实现亚像素级定位。开展仿真图像处理实验与实测图像处理实验,对该系统的应用效果进行验证。
对于经滤光成像后前景背景对比度较高且中心处过曝的光斑图像,其实际形状可能偏离理想圆形,呈现局部饱和或畸变。在此情况下,若采用灰度质心法进行图像处理,过曝区域和非对称分布易引入显著的计算偏差,导致质心偏移。相比之下,高斯拟合法通过建立二维高斯函数模型对光斑能量分布进行连续拟合,能够更好地适应光斑形态变化和中心饱和现象,通过提取能量中心实现光斑精确定位。然而,该方法涉及大量矩阵运算与迭代优化,计算复杂度远高于灰度质心法,对实时处理系统提出严峻挑战。
进行高速视觉测量时,高速相机图像传感器以极高频时钟输出像素流,传输至FPGA开发板时,单时钟周期内常需接收多个像素。若采用串行处理机制,难以避免数据丢失与时序紊乱。因此,必须充分发挥FPGA的硬件并行处理与流水线架构优势,实现多像素数据的同步接收、实时调度与复杂算法的高效计算,从而满足高斯拟合等高精度方法的实时性要求。针对上述需求,设计基于FPGA的实时光斑定位算法,结构框图如图1所示。
以每时钟周期8 pixels的高吞吐率输入为例,图像数据首先经过数据解包模块,将并行到达的像素流解析为规整的像素矩阵。解包后的数据被写入同步FIFO中缓存连续2行图像,以构建行间连续的窗口采样环境。依托高度并行架构,系统同步生成多个3 × 3像素邻域矩阵。针对图像中存在的稀疏小尺寸光斑,首先判断每个3 × 3窗口内所有像素的灰度值是否均超过预设阈值,以此初步识别潜在光斑区域。为避免同一光斑被多个窗口重复检出,引入邻域抑制机制,仅保留局部响应最大的区域作为有效目标。完成1帧图像的全幅扫描后,即可实现光斑区域粗提取。
为实现帧间光斑轨迹的平滑与预测,采用简化卡尔曼滤波算法,估计下一帧光斑预期区域。由于光斑尺寸较小且无粘连现象,可将关注区域限制于较小邻域内。为协调高速像素流入与低速处理间时钟域,保障系统帧率,引入异步FIFO进行跨时钟域数据传输,完成ROI裁剪。随后对该区域像素进行基于距离加权的二维高斯拟合,通过矩阵构建与求解、梯度零点计算等步骤,迭代优化光斑中心位置,最终输出亚像素精度的光斑中心坐标。
图像预处理部分主要完成数据解包以及光斑区域的初步筛选,以配合后续ROI操作,因此只需达到像素级提取精度即可满足需求。为提升系统运行时钟频率,采用基于滑动窗口亮度一致性检测的光斑粗提取算法,通过在全图范围内扫描并选取亮度显著的连通区域,实现光斑候选点的初始定位。
光斑区域粗提取示意图如图2所示。将输入图像表示为二维灰度矩阵I0(x,y)I0(x,y),其大小为H × W。对于每个像素位置(x,y)(x,y),构建一个大小为3 × 3的滑动窗口Ωx,yΩx,y,并对其中所有像素的亮度值进行一致性检测,如果满足式(1)所示的条件,则认为该窗口对应的中心像素为光斑候选点。

式中:(u0,v0)(u0,v0)为点位置坐标,T为全局亮度阈值。
为获取每个像素对应的3 × 3邻域窗口,通常需缓存连续2行图像数据。该操作通过同步FIFO实现。当前像素流输入时,将传输至后续处理单元并同步写入FIFO进行缓存。当第2行像素逐拍到达时,FIFO依次输出第1行中对应位置的像素,系统可在同一时钟周期内并行获取来自连续3行(当前行、缓存第1行及上一缓存行)的像素数据,进而实时组合出多个3 × 3像素矩阵。
针对行内数据,每个时钟周期输入多位像素,以此并行生成多组3 × 3矩阵。行内及行间矩阵生成示意图如图3所示。
图3可知,在1个周期内同时完成8组领域像素判断,根据当前所在第M行、所属第N组及组内偏移量ΔiΔi,输出中心对应坐标(Xpeak,Ypeak)(Xpeak,Ypeak),计算公式如式(2)所示。

在光斑粗提取过程中,滑动窗口检测可能导致同一光斑区域被多次标记,进而引起重复计算和特征点顺序不稳定的问题。为解决上述问题,引入一种基于邻域一致性约束的非极大值抑制策略,用于确保每个光斑仅被标记1次,同时保持其位置估计的平滑性。

式中:r为邻域半径,本研究中取r = 2(对应5 × 5邻域)。当(xi,yi)(xi,yi)与CtCt中任意点(xj,yj)(xj,yj)符合式(4)所示的关系时,则认为该点属于已标记光斑区域,不再新建条目,而是根据式(5)进行加权更新。

式中:ωoldωold和ωnewωnew分别为原有坐标与新检测坐标的置信度权重,本研究中取归一化后的亮度值。若不存在满足条件的点,则将该候选点作为新的光斑中心加入CtCt。
获取平滑的光斑区域初值后,为实现高精度中心定位,需采用高斯拟合法进行亚像素级位置估计。然而,高斯拟合过程涉及大量浮点矩阵运算与迭代优化,若直接应用于全幅图像,将显著增加计算负荷,限制系统可运行时钟频率,最终降低整体帧率。为兼顾处理精度与系统实时性,本文提出一种基于帧间预测的区域剪裁方法:首先依据当前帧与历史光斑位置,预测下一帧中光斑出现的区域,进而将处理范围限制于该邻域内,大幅减少待处理像素数量。
为实现上述区域提取,需引入一种能够适应时序变化的预测机制。首先采用简化的卡尔曼滤波算法对光斑运动进行建模,实现下一帧光斑位置的鲁棒预测,预测结果将用于指导ROI的动态生成。
卡尔曼滤波是一种基于状态空间模型的递推最优估计方法,其原理是:基于系统的状态方程与观测方程,在高斯噪声假设下,通过最小化均方误差实现对真实状态的最优估计。对于某一系统,时刻k时的状态量为xkxk,控制输入为uk-1uk-1,观测向量为ωk-1ωk-1(服从均值为0、协方差为Q的高斯分布),实际观测值为zkzk,观测噪声为vk噪声vk噪声(服从均值为0、协方差为R的高斯分布),状态转移、输入及观测矩阵分别为ABH。系统满足线性状态空间模型

标准卡尔曼滤波具有严格的最优性,但需要进行大量的矩阵运算(包括矩阵乘法和逆运算),在嵌入式硬件环境下运算与存储消耗较大,故对其进行化简。本研究中,卡尔曼滤波的核心预测过程可化简为位置与速度的线性外推,更新阶段则采用固定增益更新方式,从而避免矩阵求逆运算。使用二维状态表示单个轴,即

式中:zk1zk1为测得的像素坐标,KpKp及KvKv为确定常数增益。为了进一步减少资源占用,使用移位操作代替增益。FPGA简化卡尔曼滤波流程如图4所示,其中,e为差值,e=zk1-pk | k-1e=zk1-pk | k-1。
采集200帧图像,以某一固定光斑为例,卡尔曼滤波前后xy方向中心坐标变化如图5所示,滤波后数据波动峰峰值降低63.3%,初值稳定性得到明显提升。
由于图像传感器输出像素流处于高速时钟域,而后续拟合处理模块工作在较低时钟频率,需通过异步FIFO实现跨时钟域数据传输。该架构中,“写”操作依据像素流入的快时钟进行,仅当像素坐标位于预测区域内时才执行写入;“读”操作则以慢时钟速率进行,实现数据缓冲与速率适配,最终输出指定大小的图像区域。
对于单像素周期输入8 pixels的高速相机,会出现目标领域分布在2个周期内的情况,针对该问题,设计像素拼接模块,基于拼接检测、写满判断以及数据写出状态等,利用光斑尺寸小且稀疏的特点完成状态切换及转移,最终由异步FIFO读出,得到参考初值对应的6 × 6邻域。像素拼接模块结构示意图如图6所示。
经过异步FIFO跨时钟域传输与ROI提取后,系统获得了以光斑预测坐标为中心的像素图像区域。为实现亚像素级别的特征提取,基于加权二次曲面拟合求取光斑中心坐标,并基于信噪比自适应调整高斯权重参数,以提高拟合精度和鲁棒性。

对于高速输入图像,2帧间图像变化幅度较小,通过上一帧对应区域的灰度标准差确定σσ,以实现自适应调整。相关数学表达式为

同时,任一ROI邻域内点到预设参考点间距离固定,在FPGA中直接通过查找表(Look Up Table, LUT)映射用像素行列索引作为地址,直接读取对应[un,vn,un2,vn2,unvn][un,vn,un2,vn2,unvn],大幅降低资源占用及计算量。
设计高斯拟合完整流水架构,输入数据两路并行,一路用于结合上一帧输出σσ生成矩阵并求解得到当前中心坐标,另一路用于累加计算下一矩阵权重。高斯拟合求解光斑中心架构如图7所示。
为验证本文提出的光斑定位方法的有效性,开展仿真实验与真实实验。在仿真实验中,合成带有高斯噪声及不同饱和程度的光斑图像,并以均方根误差作为评价指标评估目标定位精度。在真实实验中,利用高速相机采集真实光斑序列,对比本文方法与传统灰度质心法的重复性精度。在FPGA实现层面,通过时序约束优化关键路径,评估资源占用与最大可达时钟频率,并计算单帧图像处理耗时TframeTframe。以系统帧率FFPS=1 / TframeFFPS=1 / Tframe衡量算法在实际部署中的实时处理能力。
生成半径为6 pixels的模拟光斑图像,该光斑基于二维高斯分布模型构建,以模拟真实光学系统中常见的能量扩散特性。在此基础上,通过引入不同强度的高斯随机噪声,生成一系列具有不同信噪比的测试图像集;之后开展仿真实验,考察算法针对不同信噪比图像的目标定位适应性与稳定性。噪声叠加前后理想高斯光斑对比图像如图8所示。
利用本文提出的小尺寸光斑高速亚像素定位算法对该图像集进行亚像素定位仿真,计算得到不同信噪比条件下的标准差,结果如表1所示。不同信噪比条件下传统算法处理结果标准差如表2所示。对比分析结果显示:本文算法相较高斯拟合法的精度鲁棒性提升率约为51.8%;本文算法相较灰度质心法的精度鲁棒性提升率约为58.4%。在不同信噪比条件下,本文算法误差分布更稳定;在高噪声条件下,本文算法表现出更强的抗干扰能力。
工业现场中周期性光源闪烁等典型干扰会导致光斑图像特征失真,生成一组中心亮度随机的光斑图像并对其添加高斯噪声,以贴合实际工业环境中光斑亮度的不确定性特征。不同中心灰度值光斑对比图像如图9所示。利用本文算法和传统算法分别对该图像集进行光斑目标定位,模拟光源闪烁场景下各算法处理结果标准差如表3所示。
仿真结果显示:在中心处光斑亮度不稳定的情况下,小尺寸光斑高速亚像素定位算法仍能够实现光斑目标准确定位,该算法相较高斯拟合法的精度鲁棒性提升率约为52.39%;该算法相较灰度质心法的精度鲁棒性提升率约为61.14%。
采用CMOS高速相机搭配54° × 42°视场角光学系统,针对主动发光的红外靶标开展多基线成像实验。本实验在室内环境中开展,维持稳定、均一的光照条件,实验过程中采用精确校准方法,在相机与靶标相距10 m的校准位置处,启动图像采集设备,连续采集1 000帧图像;完成该距离下的采集后,按照预设流程移动相机至20 m校准位置,再次进行距离校正以保证位置精度符合要求,随后在该位置重复1 000帧图像的采集操作。在不同距离条件下,靶标光斑在成像平面中的直径分布于4 ~ 7 pixels。选取10、20 m两个经过精确校准的标定距离,连续采集各位置1 000帧图像。随着拍摄距离增加,光斑尺寸逐渐减小、图像信噪比相应降低、目标边缘轮廓趋于模糊,对光斑定位精度带来一定挑战。测量环境及实测单个光斑与靶标成像图像如图10所示。
对每帧图像中的光斑进行亚像素级定位,获取其坐标序列,并计算各位置定位结果的标准差,作为评价重复性精度的依据。实测实验10 m距离标记点重复性验证结果如表4所示,可以看出:12个标记点的xy标准差均不超过0.032 pixels。实测实验20 m距离标记点重复性验证结果如表5所示,可以看出:12个标记点的xy标准差均不超过0.040 pixels。上述结果表明:本文提出的光斑定位方法稳定性良好。
为评估本文提出的基于FPGA的多光斑中心提取方法在真实工业环境中的实时处理能力,开展基于实测图像的端到端处理延时实验。选取多幅尺寸为2 432 pixels × 2 048 pixels的实际采集图像,模拟高速相机输出时序,以每像素周期8 pixels的连续数据流形式输入FPGA开发板。同步提供帧有效与行有效等图像控制信号,构建与真实视觉系统等效的图像采集与传输链路,在近似实际工业应用的场景中对处理延时进行可靠评估。算法综合后部署于Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA平台,约束满足建立时间和保持时间要求,系统时钟频率设定为100 MHz。
在输入连续2帧图像的仿真过程中,系统处理总延迟可根据式(20)估算。

算法硬件加速处理用时对比如表6所示,可以看出:部署在FPGA上的区域选择高斯拟合法单帧图像处理耗时仅为6.2 ms,相较部署在个人计算机(Personal Computer, PC)端的区域选择高斯拟合法处理效率提升约36倍,帧频达到160 帧 / 秒。
提出了一种基于FPGA的高速小尺寸多光斑亚像素定位方法,重点解决了在高帧率、低延迟条件下小尺寸光斑的精确定位与实时处理问题。构建粗提取与精提取相结合的混合架构,通过基于滑动窗口与邻域抑制的实时粗定位方法、简化卡尔曼滤波预测光斑运动轨迹、异步FIFO实现跨时钟域数据传输与ROI生成,以及基于加权最小二乘的高斯拟合优化实现高精度快速光斑中心提取。实验结果表明:本文提出的光斑定位方法具有良好的鲁棒性,相较传统光斑定位方法鲁棒性提升50%以上。FPGA平台的硬件并行化与流水线设计使系统数据更新率显著提高,帧频达到160帧 / 秒。本研究为嵌入式光斑定位系统设计提供了一种兼顾高实时性与高精度的解决方案,未来该方法可进一步与多种传感器数据相结合,并应用于更复杂的多目标动态跟踪场景,为促进精密测量、目标跟踪等技术发展提供有力支撑。
