The IS350 rail is medium strength rail in the American AREMA—2019 standard, which is mostly used for laying busy freight railways in North America and with a broad application prospect. Its industrial trial production is carried out combining with the requirements of American standard and the equipment conditions of universal rolling mill of rail. The results of trial production showed that its composition design was reasonable, the smelting, external refining, rolling and online heat treatment processes were proper as well as its general and special performances were in line with the requirements of American AREMA—2019 standard and with sufficient surplus so that a new way was explored for adjusting the product mix of rail of Baotou Steel and developing new markets.

IS350钢轨为美国AREMA—2019标准中的中等强度钢轨,多用于北美地区繁忙的货运铁路的铺设,应用前景较为广阔。结合美标要求和钢轨万能轧机设备条件,开展了IS350钢轨的工业试制。试制结果表明,IS350钢轨成分设计合理,冶炼工艺、炉外精炼工艺以及轧制工艺、在线热处理工艺得当,试制钢轨常规性能及特殊性能均符合美国AREMA—2019标准要求,均具有充裕的富余量,为包钢钢轨产品结构调整、开拓新市场探索出新路。

The IS350 rail is medium strength rail in the American AREMA—2019 standard, which is mostly used for laying busy freight railways in North America and with a broad application prospect. Its industrial trial production is carried out combining with the requirements of American standard and the equipment conditions of universal rolling mill of rail. The results of trial production showed that its composition design was reasonable, the smelting, external refining, rolling and online heat treatment processes were proper as well as its general and special performances were in line with the requirements of American AREMA—2019 standard and with sufficient surplus so that a new way was explored for adjusting the product mix of rail of Baotou Steel and developing new markets.

北美洲是重载铁路建设发达地区,在铁路重载运输技术方面位居世界前列。北美铁路运输以货运为主,铁路车辆轴重多为32.4 t,随着重载运输要求的提高,铁路车辆轴重不断增大,目前最大轴重可达35.7 t[1]。美国铁路工程和保养协会(AREMA)工程师手册中的货运重载铁路标准被钢轨制造厂视为进入美洲钢轨市场的门槛,其2019版标准根据钢轨踏面硬度不同,将碳素钢轨分为标准强度钢轨SS310级、中等强度钢轨IS350级和高强度钢轨HH370级。包钢2015年成功开发标准强度SS310钢轨并批量出口美国上万吨[2]
IS350钢轨为美国AREMA—2019标准中的中等强度钢轨,规定轨头踏面硬度(HB)不低于350,热处理状态交货。美国AREMA标准对钢轨性能要求主要体现在常规力学性能指标上,比我国铁标增加了屈服强度的要求。表1表2分别给出了美标AREMA—2019[3]IS350钢轨与铁标TB/T 2344—2020[4]U75VH、欧标EN 13674—2011[5]R350HT钢轨成分与性能指标的对比情况。由表2可知,不同标准的三个钢轨硬度级别相近,IS350钢轨的抗拉强度要求低于铁标U75VH和欧标R350HT。
铬、钒在钢中的应用十分普遍。铬加入钢中有很多益处,它固溶于铁素体中,提高铁素体强度,增加基体的强度和硬度,而且铬能显著增加钢的淬透性和提高抗氧化能力,但需将铬元素控制在0.30%以下,否则会增加回火脆性倾向。而且钒与钢中的碳、氮构成难熔的碳化物和氮化物,小而硬的碳氮化合物能够起到细化晶粒、沉淀强化的作用,从而提高钢的强度、韧性和耐磨性。
工业试制前,在实验室开展了钢种成分、工艺模拟与组织性能之间关系的试验。通过实验室试验,基本确定了C、Si、Mn等主元素含量水平,对比了钢中添加Cr、V、Nb后力学性能、硬度方面的变化情况。
由于V、Nb属于价格较高的合金元素,对比试验结果表明单独添加Cr元素,无需添加V、Nb元素即可满足要求。综合考虑实验室和工业生产之间的差异,按照美标要求确定了IS350钢轨工业试制成分控制范围,设计成分详见表3
IS350钢轨工业试制工艺流程:脱硫预处理铁水→150 t顶底复吹转炉冶炼→LF精炼→VD真空脱气精炼→方坯连铸(280 mm×380 mm)→加热→高压水除鳞→BD1粗轧→BD2粗轧→万能轧机轧制→在线热处理→矫直→探伤→加工→检查入库。
工业试制1炉(转炉公称容量150 t)。铁水预处理采用镁基喷粉脱硫,入炉铁水ω(S)≤0.030%。转炉冶炼终点控制ω(C)>0.08%,出钢温度T>1 610 ℃,控制ω(P)≤0.120%,出钢加入硅锰、锰铁和硅铁合金进行罐内脱氧合金化。
LF精炼采用硅钙钡脱氧,加入硅铁和铬铁合金,脱硫和微调化学成分。LF炉就位温度为1 545 ℃,加热时间为22 min,离位温度为1 580 ℃。VD真空度不大于0.10 kPa,深真空处理时间不低于15 min,真空处理结束后软吹时间保证15 min以上,软吹全程钢液表面无裸露。
浇注铸坯尺寸为280 mm×380 mm。大方坯连铸机中间包覆盖剂采用钙镁质颗粒,结晶器采用低铝保护渣,全程保护浇注,同步开启结晶器电磁搅拌和凝固末端轻压下模式。试制钢轨液相线温度为1 464 ℃,过热度(ΔT)控制在29 ℃。全程恒拉速操作,拉速0.65 m/min。
铸坯送轨梁厂2#万能轧制线轧制钢轨,钢轨轧制断面为60 N。连铸坯经三段步进式加热炉加热3.5 h后,在2#线共轧制13道次,压缩比为13.1,轧制道次分配:BD1开坯3道次,BD2粗轧7道次,万能轧机轧制3道次,BD1开轧温度为1 090~1 150 ℃,终轧温度为940~950 ℃。
轧制后的钢轨进入淬火机组进行全长热处理,热处理工序的控制要点是钢轨入、出淬火机组的温度区间和钢轨头尾温差,保证钢轨入口温度不高于850 ℃、出口温度不高于700 ℃,头尾温差要求不大于50 ℃,实际温差在35 ℃,淬火风压为12 kPa。待钢轨温度降至60 ℃以下进行全长矫直,超声波探伤合格后入库。
在铸坯上取样分析化学成分,结果显示成分控制理想,各元素均满足目标要求,见表4。铸坯硫印检验结果表明低倍质量良好,见表5
铸坯取样检测气体含量,结果为H含量为0.000 142%,O含量为0.001 8%,N含量为0.004 2%。
为查验成分偏析状况,分别沿铸坯横断面长度、宽度和对角线三条线等间隔钻取粉末分析C、Mn成分,图1为铸坯成分取样点位置,图2为C、Mn偏析指数分布图。由图2可见,铸坯横断面上C元素的偏析程度略大于Mn元素,二者偏析情况相对同步,总体上看C、Mn成分偏析情况良好,各点位置含量波动较小。
以上检验结果表明,铸坯成分、气体控制理想,铸坯内部质量良好。
分别在2支热轧钢轨成品上取样作热酸低倍质量检验,见图3。检验未发现白点、缩孔、偏析、内裂、翻皮、分层以及肉眼可见的夹杂物等缺陷,说明钢轨成品低倍质量良好。
在钢轨成品上作全断面C、Mn成分偏析检测,取样部位如图4所示,轨头取6个点,密度比轨腰、轨底大。成分偏析指数结果见图5。由图5可见,钢轨全断面上C、Mn元素含量波动小,两个元素在全断面上的分布较为均匀。与铸坯成分偏析情况相比,钢轨C、Mn元素偏析程度减轻,进一步说明轧制变形有利于改善化学成分的偏析程度。
分别对热轧钢轨和风淬钢轨的力学性能进行检验,检验项目包括力学性能和轨头踏面硬度。在风淬钢轨成品上每隔25 m取样,以验证钢轨热处理后的通条性能。
检测结果分别见表6表7。2支热轧钢轨的屈服强度、抗拉强度分别为675 MPa、1 073 MPa和588 MPa、1 065 MPa;2支钢轨踏面硬度(HBW)分别在313~315和309~311范围内均匀分布。由表6表7可知,对于风淬钢轨来说,强度和硬度在全长上的检测数值变化不大,1#钢轨的屈服强度平均为859.3 MPa,抗拉强度平均为1 273.5 MPa、延伸率为平均为11.2%,踏面硬度(HBW)平均为368.8;2#钢轨的屈服强度平均为846.2 MPa,抗拉强度平均为1 273.1 MPa,延伸率平均为10.5%,踏面硬度(HBW)平均为370.2。结果显示屈服强度、抗拉强度有一定的富余量,轨头踏面硬度控制良好,全长踏面硬度均匀,基本都在370左右,说明淬火工艺恰当,参数设计合理,钢轨淬火后的性能满足要求。
检验淬火钢轨全断面金相组织,每隔25 m在轨头、轨腰、轨底、轨底角分别取样,取样检测结果一致性强,无明显差异,显微组织晶粒度为8级,以细小珠光体为主,其余为微量的铁素体,未发现异常组织,脱碳层深度最大0.25 mm(见图6)。
利用扫描电镜观测热轧钢轨轨头和淬火钢轨轨头的珠光体片层间距。从轨头珠光体片层间距观测结果来看,热轧钢轨轨头片层间距平均值为0.22 μm,淬火钢轨轨头片层间距则更细,平均值为0.18 μm,见图7。珠光体片层间距的减小极大改善了钢轨各项性能,使得钢轨的强度和硬度得以提高,从数值上看强度提高幅度较大。
通过前期一系列的试验研究,成功开发出满足AREMA—2019标准的中强度钢轨,并进行了工业试制。该强度钢轨品种的增加,为包钢出口美洲钢轨市场提供了产品储备。
在成分设计过程中,设计出不添加V、Nb等价格较高合金元素的低成本化学成分,通过调整C、Si、Mn元素含量,添加碳化物形成元素Cr,提高钢轨的淬透性,由此获得了符合标准的热处理性能。
