The inheritance mechanism of rare earth element lanthanum in baiyuneboite during process of blast furnace ironmaking is studied by taking rare earth lanthanum as the object. The microscopic behaviors of lanthanum from slags to iron during process of blast furnace ironmaking are analyzed by thermodynamic calculations and experimental characterization. The results indicated that La2O3 in blast furnace slags could be reduced to LaC2 during process of blast furnace ironmaking, and then LaC2 is dissolved in molten iron and La is adsorbed by the oxygen functional groups on porous graphite so that the rare earth could be inherited to subsequent steelmaking processes, which makes up for the problem in traditional view that the rare earth oxides in blast furnace slags are difficult to be reduced during process of blast furnace ironmaking and cannot be inherited to subsequent processes.

文章以稀土镧为对象,研究了白云鄂博矿中稀土元素镧在高炉炼铁过程的传承机理。通过热力学计算和实验表征分析了高炉炼铁过程中镧元素在渣-铁之间的微观行为。结果表明,高炉渣中的La2O3在高炉炼铁过程中可以被还原成LaC2,随后LaC2溶于铁水中且镧被多孔状石墨上的含氧官能团吸附,从而使稀土能够传承到后续的炼钢工艺过程中。弥补了传统观点认为的高炉渣中稀土氧化物在高炉炼铁时很难被还原,无法继续往后续流程传承的问题。

文章以稀土镧为对象,研究了白云鄂博矿中稀土元素镧在高炉炼铁过程的传承机理。通过热力学计算和实验表征分析了高炉炼铁过程中镧元素在渣-铁之间的微观行为。结果表明,高炉渣中的La2O3在高炉炼铁过程中可以被还原成LaC2,随后LaC2溶于铁水中且镧被多孔状石墨上的含氧官能团吸附,从而使稀土能够传承到后续的炼钢工艺过程中。弥补了传统观点认为的高炉渣中稀土氧化物在高炉炼铁时很难被还原,无法继续往后续流程传承的问题。

The inheritance mechanism of rare earth element lanthanum in baiyuneboite during process of blast furnace ironmaking is studied by taking rare earth lanthanum as the object. The microscopic behaviors of lanthanum from slags to iron during process of blast furnace ironmaking are analyzed by thermodynamic calculations and experimental characterization. The results indicated that La2O3 in blast furnace slags could be reduced to LaC2 during process of blast furnace ironmaking, and then LaC2 is dissolved in molten iron and La is adsorbed by the oxygen functional groups on porous graphite so that the rare earth could be inherited to subsequent steelmaking processes, which makes up for the problem in traditional view that the rare earth oxides in blast furnace slags are difficult to be reduced during process of blast furnace ironmaking and cannot be inherited to subsequent processes.

白云鄂博矿是世界上最大的稀土资源储量的共伴生矿,同时也是包钢铁矿石的主要来源之一[1-3]。在铁精矿选矿过程中由于稀土元素难以与铁精矿完全分离,从而伴随铁精矿进入到钢铁冶金流程中。20世纪90年代末,余宗森先生等研究了中国铁矿石留在钢中的残留痕量元素,最后发现在白云鄂博铁矿作为炼铁原料的生产过程中,在最后钢材产品中稀土镧和铈的总量为0.000 5%~0.001 0%[4]。但是,铁矿石中的稀土在钢铁冶金过程是如何残留到最终的钢铁产品中,这种行为过程受哪些因素的影响及影响规律,整个过程能否控制等,直到2014年内蒙古科技大学和包钢共同合作对其进行了系统的研究,其中采用白云鄂博矿选出的铁精矿经过球团或烧结工艺造块后,稀土元素在其中的存在状态主要为氧化物和少量未分解的独居石[5]。根据高炉炼铁原理可知,铁精矿中的稀土氧化物不能被C或CO还原成单质态进入到铁水中。因此,传统观念认为,在高炉炼铁阶段来自于铁矿石中的稀土元素已无法在钢铁冶金的主流程中继续传承下去,而是全部进入了高炉渣中。
但是,基于实际对高炉生铁中稀土含量的检测和余宗森先生等对包钢生产的钢材产品中稀土残留量的研究报道,仍有微量的稀土元素在钢铁冶金主流程传承。本文以稀土镧为研究对象,结合高炉炼铁的实际工况,从热力学计算和显微表征的角度分析了白云鄂博矿中稀土镧在高炉炼铁过程的传承机理。研究结果为开发具有包钢特色的稀土钢产品和更加高效地利用好白云鄂博矿中的稀土资源提供了一定的理论支撑与参考,具有较为重要的理论和实际意义。
利用熔渣分子-离子共存理论模型[6-7],通过热力学计算分析了高炉熔渣中镧的还原行为以及稀土镧元素在渣-铁之间的传递过程。同时,结合实验表征验证了热力学计算结果的准确性。
参考了包钢现场高炉渣成分,配置了高炉渣,其化学成分如表1所示。首先,将高炉渣破碎成粉过200目筛,称取5 g高炉渣和2 g焦炭粉均匀混合后放入盛有15 g高炉生铁的石墨坩埚中。在高温管式炉中通入氩气作为保护气体,在1 500 ℃保温30 min后,将石墨坩埚迅速取出转移至冰盐水中迅速冷却。将冷却后上部的渣块取出,在扫描电镜下利用背散射探头观察富集稀土镧的区域,使用EBSD分析出富集镧元素区域的菊池衍射花样,标定衍射花样,即可得到富集稀土镧区域物相的晶体结构,从而得出经过还原反应稀土镧在高炉渣中的存在状态,即可以分析出渣相中镧还原反应的微观机理。利用盐酸消解生铁的铁基体,将溶液中不溶物质分离出来,再利用XRD和扫描电镜进行结构和形貌分析。随后采用NaOH+Na2O2(2∶1)与上述不溶物质在镍坩埚中混匀并放入750 ℃的马弗炉中保温30 min后取出,再用1% HCl溶液将坩埚中的熔融物质浸出至烧杯中,加入浓盐酸将烧杯中的悬浮物消解成清亮的溶液并转移至容量瓶中定容。采用电感耦合等离子质谱仪(ICP-MS)测出溶液中镧离子的浓度,再利用公式(1)计算出生铁的铁基体和上述不溶物中稀土镧的含量。最后,利用傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)测出上述不溶物中所含的官能团。

式中:w是稀土含量,10-6;V是电解后稀土La溶液定容体积,mL;C是通过质谱仪检测出的溶液中镧离子浓度,ng/mL;M是消解前称取生铁的质量,g。
查阅关于CaO、SiO2、Al2O3、MgO、La2O3、CaF2等相图[8]可知,CaO-SiO2-Al2O3-MgO-CaF2-La2O3六元渣系的熔渣中存在下列结构单元:

然后由熔渣的结构单元建立反应的平衡常数方程,最后根据质量守恒建立方程组计算熔渣各组元的活度。

设∑n为炉渣平衡时各结构单元总的物质的量,m1m2m3m4m5m6分别为反应前CaO、SiO2、Al2O3、MgO、CaF2、La2O3的物质的量,Ni(i=1,2,3…30)为平衡时熔渣中各组元的作用浓度,在此定义为活度。模型涉及的化学反应方程式使用文献中所列结果[5]

联立式(2)~(8)建立方程组,采用Newton下山法迭代计算出上述非线性方程组,即可得到各结构单元的活度。将表1中高炉渣的成分代入后的计算结果如表2所示,不难看出在高炉熔渣中稀土镧的主要存在状态为可以自由移动的La2O3
参考La2O3和C反应的相关文献[9]可知,C元素在一定条件下可以将熔渣中La2O3还原成La或者LaC2,如下所示:
若C元素将熔渣中La2O3还原成La:

由于高炉内为C饱和环境,高炉煤气的主要成分为CO,因此,高炉内CO的分压PCO接近1,由表2可知,高炉渣中稀土镧的活度 ${a}_{\left(\mathrm{L}{\mathrm{a}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{3}\right)}$为10-3数量级,因此,式(10)的最后一项为正值,又因为在高炉内1 450~1 550 ℃范围内,ΔGθ>0,所以,ΔG>0,还原反应不能进行。因此,在高炉炼铁过程中,高炉熔渣中的稀土镧的氧化物不能被C直接还原成金属镧。
若C元素将熔渣中La2O3还原成LaC2:

由式(12)可知,决定反应能否进行是由温度T、CO气体的分压PCO和熔渣中La2O3的活度决定。假设高炉内CO的分压为1,则高炉渣中的稀土镧被C还原为LaC2的开始反应温度(ΔG=0)为1 405 ℃,在高炉炼铁的温度范围内,因此,高炉渣中的La2O3能够在高炉中被还原成LaC2。杜挺等研究得到LaC2的溶解标准吉布斯自由能为[10]:

假设高炉内CO的分压为1,通过对表1中高炉渣的La2O3被C首先还原为LaC2,然后LaC2再溶入铁水里形成[La]直至平衡的热力学计算,得到溶入铁水中的ω[La]=0.008 6%。因此,从热力学计算的结果来看,高炉渣中的稀土镧可以被碳还原成LaC2,然后LaC2能够通过熔渣-铁水界面溶入铁水中,从而完成传递过程。
图1为碳热还原反应后渣相中的还原产物及其EBSD下的菊池花样,通过标定可知,位置1为La2O2C2,位置2为LaC2。任存治等[11]采用了单一La2O3与石墨粉进行热还原反应,研究了碳热条件下稀土镧的还原行为,最后得到还原产物及顺序为:La2O3→LaCO→La2O2C2→LaC2,与本实验的观察结果一致。结合上述热力学计算的结果可以得出,在碳热还原条件下,碳能够将高炉渣中的La2O3还原成LaC2
经过XRD衍射发现生铁试样中经过盐酸消解后不溶物质为石墨,如图2所示。结合扫描电镜的观察结果可以看出,生铁中的石墨相有两种类型,一种是多孔状的石墨相,另一种类型是鳞片状石墨,如图3所示。通过能谱分析发现,多孔状石墨中除了存在C和O之外,还存在着Ca、Si、Al等元素,而鳞片状石墨中只存在C、O两种元素。
通过ICP-MS测量并经过公式(1)计算可知,铁基体和多孔状石墨相中的镧含量分别为0.000 126%和0.000 436%。由此可见,镧元素主要富集在多孔状石墨相中。图4(a)为高炉生铁中萃取出的多孔状石墨相、焦炭粉末和鳞片状石墨相的傅里叶变换红外光谱图。
图4(a)可知,焦炭粉末和高炉生铁中多孔状石墨相的试样,在波长为617 cm-1、1 122 cm-1、1 400 cm-1、1 630 cm-1和3 432 cm-1附近都会出现振动峰。查阅相关文献可知,617 cm-1附近的峰主要是由于石墨表面吸附的CO2分子伸缩振动引起的[12],1 122 cm-1附近的峰是由于C—O—C键伸缩振动引起的[13],1 400 cm-1附近的峰是因为羟基结构中C—OH官能团弯曲振动导致[14],1 630 cm-1附近的峰是由于石墨结构中氧化区域与未氧化区域处C=C拉伸振动引起[15],3 432 cm-1附近的峰是因为O—H键拉伸振动导致[16]
因此,多孔状石墨相和焦炭粉末上都含有含氧官能团,而鳞片状石墨上则没有这些含氧官能团。由于焦炭在受热过程中会逐渐由无定形态向石墨态转变,因此,含有含氧官能团的多孔状石墨来自于焦炭的石墨化,而这些存在于铁水中的带有含氧官能团的多孔状石墨会将溶质中还原至铁水中的镧原子吸附至其官能团上,如图4(b)所示,从而完成在高炉炼铁过程中的传承。
(1)铁精矿中的氧化镧在高炉内部不能直接还原成金属镧,全部以氧化物的形式参与造渣反应,进入到熔渣中,在熔渣中主要以自由移动的La2O3形式存在。
(2)高炉炼铁过程中熔渣中可以自由移动的La2O3可以被碳逐渐脱氧,最终还原成LaC2,部分LaC2可以溶入到铁水中,在铁水中的La被铁水中的多孔状石墨上的含氧官能团吸附,最终以石墨相的形式存在于铁水中,从而完成稀土镧在高炉炼铁过程中的传承。
