The effects of riser brick for casting ingot mould used in the smelting equipment of laboratory, vacuum induction furnace on quality of steel ingot are greater. The molten steel in vacuum melting furnace is poured into ingot mould through riser brick and steel ingot is formed after cooling. The flow velocity and angle of the molten steel flowing through riser brick, inclusions in molten steel and inner wall of ingot mould all affect quality of steel ingot. In the paper, the optimization design for structure of riser brick is introduced, which is to add a diversion platform. On the one hand, the scouring force of molten steel to inner wall of ingot mould is reduced so that the service life of ingot mould and surface quality of steel ingot are improved; on the other hand, the retention time of molten steel in riser brick is increased so that the inclusions in molten steel float to be removed and internal quality of steel ingot is improved. The practices prove that the design of riser brick with optimization and transformation is reasonable as well as application effects are good.

实验室冶炼设备真空感应炉使用的钢锭模浇注浇口砖对钢锭质量影响较大。真空熔炼炉内的钢水经浇口砖倾倒入钢锭模,冷却后形成钢锭,流经浇口砖钢水的流速和角度、钢水中夹杂物、钢锭模内壁情况都会影响钢锭质量。文章针对浇口砖的结构进行优化设计,增加导流平台,一方面降低钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲刷力度,提高钢锭模使用寿命和钢锭表面质量;另一方面增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,使得钢水内部的夹杂物上浮去除,提高钢锭内部质量。实践证明,优化改造后的浇口砖设计合理,应用效果较好。

实验室冶炼设备真空感应炉使用的钢锭模浇注浇口砖对钢锭质量影响较大。真空熔炼炉内的钢水经浇口砖倾倒入钢锭模,冷却后形成钢锭,流经浇口砖钢水的流速和角度、钢水中夹杂物、钢锭模内壁情况都会影响钢锭质量。文章针对浇口砖的结构进行优化设计,增加导流平台,一方面降低钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲刷力度,提高钢锭模使用寿命和钢锭表面质量;另一方面增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,使得钢水内部的夹杂物上浮去除,提高钢锭内部质量。实践证明,优化改造后的浇口砖设计合理,应用效果较好。

The effects of riser brick for casting ingot mould used in the smelting equipment of laboratory, vacuum induction furnace on quality of steel ingot are greater. The molten steel in vacuum melting furnace is poured into ingot mould through riser brick and steel ingot is formed after cooling. The flow velocity and angle of the molten steel flowing through riser brick, inclusions in molten steel and inner wall of ingot mould all affect quality of steel ingot. In the paper, the optimization design for structure of riser brick is introduced, which is to add a diversion platform. On the one hand, the scouring force of molten steel to inner wall of ingot mould is reduced so that the service life of ingot mould and surface quality of steel ingot are improved; on the other hand, the retention time of molten steel in riser brick is increased so that the inclusions in molten steel float to be removed and internal quality of steel ingot is improved. The practices prove that the design of riser brick with optimization and transformation is reasonable as well as application effects are good.

熔炼炉作为中试试验中不可或缺的重要设备,是科研人员课题研究的重要手段。在熔炼炉中,浇口砖作为引导液体金属进入钢锭模的关键部件,其性能的稳定性和使用寿命的长短,对熔炼炉的运行具有重要影响。浇口砖位于钢锭模的最上方,其形状通常为喇叭形,材质多为耐火材料。它的主要作用是容纳浇入的熔融金属液,并缓解液态金属对钢锭模的冲击,使其平稳地流入直浇道而进入钢锭模中[1],从而保证熔炼炉的正常运行。浇口砖具有高温稳定性好、抗热震性能好、强度高、耐冲刷、抗渣蚀和耐高温腐蚀等特点,使其能够适应熔炼炉复杂的工作环境。
目前,实验室的浇口砖在实际使用过程中,存在一些问题,浇注后会对钢锭模造成损伤,还会对钢锭质量造成影响。因此,对熔炼炉用浇口砖进行优化改造显得尤为重要。本文对浇口砖存在的问题进行深入分析,通过优化结构,合理配合熔炼炉使用,减缓钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲击,增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,熔炼时产生的熔渣、杂质实现有效上浮,从而提高了试验钢的质量。
目前,实验室真空熔炼炉配套使用的浇口砖采用耐火材料制作,形状为漏斗形,见图1。浇口砖底部的水口直径较大,而且漏斗面较陡,钢水流入浇口砖内时,会沿内表面形成较大的水平涡流,进入钢锭模的钢水冲击力变大,对钢锭模内壁造成较大的冲刷,在钢锭模内壁和底板上形成大小不一的麻坑(见图2),使冷却后的钢锭与钢锭模容易粘在一起,给后续的脱模带来极大的困难。脱模后的钢锭模内壁受损,使用时必须进行修复,严重影响钢锭模的连续使用。
钢水在进入钢锭模后飞溅较大,飞溅起来的钢液遇到温度低的钢锭模发生凝固并附于钢锭模内壁,由于钢液在钢锭模内壁凝固后所余热量较少,已不足以将附着在钢锭模内壁凝固的钢液重新熔化,在钢锭模内表面形成“冷豆”,浇注完成的钢锭表面形成小凹坑,见图3。在热轧时,凹坑压入钢板表面,影响试验钢板表面质量。同时,由于钢水流速较大,会将冶炼时产生的熔渣、杂质带入钢锭内部,影响钢锭的内部质量,甚至影响轧材的力学性能。
为了解决上述问题,通过查阅文献,从结构、尺寸等方面对浇口砖进行优化改造,解决钢水流速过大以及对钢锭模内壁冲刷的问题。
在进行钢水浇注时,坩埚炉口与浇口的高度差较大,钢水进入漏斗形的浇口砖后,极易形成水平涡流,钢水进入钢锭模后,对内壁的冲刷力度加大,造成内壁出现不同程度的损坏,钢锭与钢锭模粘在一起。
由于坩埚和钢锭模在真空炉内的位置已经固定,无法调节,只有将浇口砖的浇口位置提高,降低高度差,降低钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲刷力度。鉴于以上原因,提出以下设计思路。
为了降低坩埚炉口与浇口的高度差,将现有的漏斗形浇口,改造成水池形的浇口,在浇口砖内部增设一个导流平台,导流平台高度在30~40 mm之间,如图4所示。将底部的水口直径减小,降低钢水流量,使钢水平稳地进入到钢锭模中[2-3],减缓钢水对锭模内壁的冲刷。由于增设了导流平台,增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,熔炼时产生的熔渣、杂质可有效上浮,残留在浇口内部,提高了试验钢的内部质量。
为了制作平稳坚固的浇口平台,需要选取一种耐火度高、化学稳定性好的材料。电熔镁砂因其纯度高、杂质少,性能优于普通冶金镁砂,常用于制备真空炉坩埚的原料。因此,选用性能较好的电熔镁砂制作浇口平台。制作平台的材料有电熔镁砂、硼酸、水玻璃等,其中电熔镁砂采用0~1 mm、3~5 mm两种粒度。
利用现有的浇口砖,采用湿法打结的方法,捣制导流平台的过程如下。
(1)将粗、细两种粒度的电熔镁砂、2%的硼酸、水搅拌均匀,最后加入少许的水玻璃搅拌,将电熔镁砂混合料黏合在一起。
(2)为了使钢水平稳地进入到钢锭模中,将直浇水口直径改为20 mm。选取Φ20 mm的圆钢芯棒,插在浇口中央,在其周围填充预制好的电熔镁砂混合料,进行捣制。
(3)将制作好的浇口砖在室温下放置一周,将电熔镁砂中的水分蒸发干净,方可使用。
浇口平台打结质量的好坏直接影响使用寿命。打结平台时,粗细镁砂混合料保证搅拌均匀,加料打结后混合料层与层严密结合,提高平台致密度,干燥后平台的硬度、强度高,平台产生裂纹的倾向较小。如手工打结时捣制不实,导致平台不致密或局部疏松,在使用过程中会开裂,降低使用寿命。
(1)钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲刷力度减小。在浇注过程中,由于有平台的存在,有效控制了钢水的流量。钢水进入浇口砖以后液面缓慢升高,钢水缓慢进入直浇口,平稳地流入钢锭模中,均匀填充钢锭模,大大降低了钢水对钢锭模内壁的冲刷力度,减少钢锭模内壁修复的频率,提高了钢锭模的使用寿命。在浇口砖改造前,每次冶炼浇注前必须对钢锭模进行修复,否则无法使用;在浇口砖改造后,钢锭模可以连续使用5炉以上,减少了修复频次。图5为浇口砖改造后浇注效果。
(2)有效去除熔渣、杂质。通过在浇口砖内增设一个小平台,减小直浇水口直径,增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,熔炼时产生的熔渣、杂质有效上浮,浇注完成后残留在浇口内部,提高了试验钢的内部质量。对试验钢的夹杂物进行检测,夹杂物级别不大于2.5级,符合试验要求,见表1
(3)钢锭表面质量改善。浇口砖改造前,钢水进入钢锭模后飞溅较大,高温钢液飞溅遇到温度低的钢锭模,在钢锭模内壁形成冷豆,最终在钢锭表面形成许多小凹坑,使钢锭表面不光滑。使用改造后的浇口砖,钢水在钢锭模中的飞溅程度减小,钢锭模表面形成的冷豆数量大大减少,最终在钢锭表面形成凹坑的数量减少,钢锭表面较为光滑,钢锭表面质量得到有效改善,热轧后的钢板表面质量也较好,见图6
(1)通过对现有浇口砖进行优化改造,增设浇注平台,水平涡流力度减小很多,钢水能平稳地流入钢锭模。钢水对钢锭摸内壁的冲刷力度大大减小,钢锭与内壁粘连的几率减小,增加了钢锭模连续使用的次数,提高了钢锭模的使用寿命。
(2)通过增设平台,减小水口直径,增加钢水在浇口砖内的停留时间,熔炼时产生的熔渣、杂质有效上浮,浇注完成后残留在浇口内部,提高了试验钢的内部质量。
(3)钢水在钢锭模中的飞溅程度减小,钢锭表面形成凹坑减少,钢锭表面较为光滑,有效改善了钢锭表面质量,轧制的钢板表面质量也较好。
