The IF (Interstitial Free) steel plate is welded into steel pipe for manufacturing condenser pipe of household appliances by a user. There are local spot defects on the surface of steel pipe when it is subjected to conventional hydrostatic test. Such tests on chemical compositions, microstructure of defect and non-metallic inclusions of spot defects as well as mechanical properties and metallographic microstructure of the steel plate with base metal are carried out with such means as metalloscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that there were abnormal microstructures at the spot defects. The abnormal microstructures contain such alloying elements as Cr and Ni, which are different from the chemical compositions of matrix. When foreign matter is pressed into welded pipe, its local stress is concentrated. During hydrostatic test, the leak points of pressuring are at the foreign matter which is weakly combined with matrix. In order to avoid such surface defects, it is necessary to strengthen quality monitoring during the whole production and processing processes of welded pipe to prevent foreign matters from pressing into matrix to destroy its continuity so that the steel quality is reduced.

某用户将IF钢板焊接成钢管用于制作家电冷凝管,在对焊管进行常规水压试验时,钢管表面局部出现点状缺陷的情况。使用金相显微镜、扫描电镜等手段,对点状缺陷进行化学成分分析及缺陷处微观组织、非金属夹杂物等检测,并对母材钢板进行力学性能及金相微观结构检测。结果表明,点状缺陷处有异常组织,异常组织含有Cr、Ni等合金元素,与基体化学成分不同。外来异物压入使焊管局部应力集中,水压试验时,从与基体结合薄弱的异物处产生打压漏点。为了避免此类表面缺陷的产生,应加强焊管整个生产过程、加工过程的质量监控,防止异物压入破坏基体的连续性,造成钢材质量下降。

某用户将IF钢板焊接成钢管用于制作家电冷凝管,在对焊管进行常规水压试验时,钢管表面局部出现点状缺陷的情况。使用金相显微镜、扫描电镜等手段,对点状缺陷进行化学成分分析及缺陷处微观组织、非金属夹杂物等检测,并对母材钢板进行力学性能及金相微观结构检测。结果表明,点状缺陷处有异常组织,异常组织含有Cr、Ni等合金元素,与基体化学成分不同。外来异物压入使焊管局部应力集中,水压试验时,从与基体结合薄弱的异物处产生打压漏点。为了避免此类表面缺陷的产生,应加强焊管整个生产过程、加工过程的质量监控,防止异物压入破坏基体的连续性,造成钢材质量下降。

The IF (Interstitial Free) steel plate is welded into steel pipe for manufacturing condenser pipe of household appliances by a user. There are local spot defects on the surface of steel pipe when it is subjected to conventional hydrostatic test. Such tests on chemical compositions, microstructure of defect and non-metallic inclusions of spot defects as well as mechanical properties and metallographic microstructure of the steel plate with base metal are carried out with such means as metalloscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that there were abnormal microstructures at the spot defects. The abnormal microstructures contain such alloying elements as Cr and Ni, which are different from the chemical compositions of matrix. When foreign matter is pressed into welded pipe, its local stress is concentrated. During hydrostatic test, the leak points of pressuring are at the foreign matter which is weakly combined with matrix. In order to avoid such surface defects, it is necessary to strengthen quality monitoring during the whole production and processing processes of welded pipe to prevent foreign matters from pressing into matrix to destroy its continuity so that the steel quality is reduced.

IF(Interstitial Free)钢通过在超低碳钢中添加一定量的碳、氮化物形成元素,固定钢中的碳、氮间隙原子,使钢中基本上无间隙原子,以提高IF钢的深冲性能[1-2]。IF钢因其具有良好的深冲性能和成型性能,被广泛应用于汽车、家电等制造产业中。
某用户使用IF钢板制作家电冷凝管,水压试验时发生漏点(表面点状缺陷)现象。使用金相显微镜、扫描电镜及能谱仪对点状缺陷进行检测分析,找到缺陷产生原因,反馈用户和生产单位,并提出预防措施。
IF钢板生产工艺:铁水深脱硫→转炉→LF精炼→RH真空处理→连铸→加热炉均热→粗轧→精轧→层流冷却→卷取→酸洗→冷轧退火→平整→剪切→成品。
用户对IF钢板的加工工艺:钢板开平→焊接成管→拉拔→退火→表面镀铜→水压试验。
DC04焊接钢管成品壁厚为0.7 mm,用户在做最后一道工序水压试验时,出现打压漏点,即钢管出现表面点状缺陷。
图1为焊管表面点状缺陷宏观形貌。钢管表面随机分布着小坑状缺陷(直径0.5~1 mm),无规律性,缺陷率为1%。宏观观察,缺陷呈浅凹坑状,无擦、划伤痕迹,有手感。
在焊管正常位置和母板上分别取样进行化学成分分析,使用碳硫红外分析仪(美国生产,碳硫-444)测定C、S含量,化学法测定P含量,等离子体光谱仪(ICP,美国PE公司生产,5300)测定其他合金元素含量,结果见表1。结果表明,化学成分均在技术协议要求范围内。
使用拉伸试验机对母材钢板进行拉伸试验,结果见表2。结果表明,力学性能均在技术协议要求范围内。
在缺陷处取一块金相试样,磨至钢管横截面。抛光后在金相显微镜(德国蔡司生产,Axio Observer D1m)下观察,缺陷处可见一条与表面约呈30°角的裂纹斜向伸入钢基体,裂纹根部可见红色的铜,裂纹附近未见异常夹杂物,如图2所示。采用4%硝酸酒精溶液腐蚀后在显微镜下观察,裂纹两侧组织不同,一侧为基体正常组织铁素体,另一侧显微组织不受腐蚀,如图3所示。
使用扫描电镜及能谱仪(德国蔡司生产,Sigma 500)分析,裂纹靠近表面一侧异常组织内含有Cr、Ni等合金元素,见图4。但是,焊管基体里未添加此类合金元素,见图5。采用扫描电镜能谱仪对两处化学成分进行分析,结果见表3。含量高的合金元素使得异常组织未受4%硝酸酒精溶液侵蚀。
为了排除偶发性因素,取另一块表面点状缺陷试样进行检测,检测条件相同,结果与第一块的相同,缺陷处可见一条与表面约呈90°角的裂纹伸入钢基体。采用4%硝酸酒精溶液腐蚀后,靠近表面一侧组织异常,裂纹的微观形貌如图6所示。异常组织处含有Cr,见图7。而基体不含有Cr,见图8。扫描电镜能谱仪对两处化学成分进行分析,结果见表4
焊管化学成分检测结果符合技术协议要求,焊管力学性能符合技术协议要求。焊管表面点状缺陷在金相显微镜下观察是一条起源于表面的裂纹,裂纹的根部可以看到红色的铜,表明裂纹产生于镀铜之前。裂纹两侧组织不同,靠近表面的一侧为不同于基体的异常组织,扫描电镜及能谱仪分析异常组织含有Cr、Ni等合金元素,裂纹沿着基体组织与异常组织的交界面扩展。
通常,IF钢板〔ω(C)<0.01%〕成分设计时会加入微量Nb或Ti,通过析出相、细晶强化等方式最终得到等轴铁素体组织以提高钢的强度,获得优良的深冲性能[3-5]。含有Cr、Ni等合金元素的异常组织使钢局部力学性能不同于基体,不受4%硝酸酒精溶液腐蚀已表明这一点。局部的高含量的Cr、Ni合金元素使材料的强度和塑性变形性能不同于基体,破坏了基体组织的连续性,材料在轧制、拉拔作用下变形时,异常组织与基体组织变形出现不一致,同时,异常组织导致材料局部产生应力集中,微裂纹在异常组织与基体组织交界处萌生,随着变形力的作用,微裂纹沿着基体组织与异常组织的交界面扩展长大,最终形成肉眼可见的表面点状缺陷。
由以上原因分析得知,IF钢表面点状缺陷是由含有Cr、Ni等合金元素的异物压入引起的。为了避免此类表面缺陷的产生,应加强焊管整个生产过程、加工过程的质量监控,防止异物压入破坏基体连续性,造成钢材质量下降。
(1)焊管表面点状缺陷处含有Cr、Ni等合金元素组成的异常组织。
(2)异常组织引起钢材基体局部应力集中,裂纹在异常组织和基体的交界处产生并扩展。
(3)加强焊管生产过程、加工过程的质量监控,防止异物压入。
