In the paper, the typical rollover defect at edge on surface of stainless steel plate is studied. The morphology, microstructure and composition of cross section for rollover at edge are analyzed by metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope. It is found that the rollover defect at edge has formed on hot rolled intermediate billet as well as micro morphology is the crack with opening pointing to edge and there is delamination for subscale, which is caused by uneven transverse deformation of metal in rolling process under high temperature condition. According to this, a type of formation mechanism of the defect is proposed. This defect could be reduced or even eliminated through effective prevention measures so that the impacts of it on yield of finished products could be reduced.

文章对典型不锈钢钢板表面边部侧翻缺陷进行了研究。利用金相显微镜和扫描电镜对边部侧翻缺陷横截面形貌、组织、成分等进行了分析。通过检测分析发现边部侧翻缺陷在热轧中间坯上已经形成,微观形态为开口指向边部的裂纹且内部氧化物存在分层现象,成因是在高温条件下,在轧制过程中金属横向变形不均匀导致的。据此提出了缺陷的一种形成机理,通过有效的防治措施可以减小甚至消除这种缺陷,降低其对成品成材率的影响。

文章对典型不锈钢钢板表面边部侧翻缺陷进行了研究。利用金相显微镜和扫描电镜对边部侧翻缺陷横截面形貌、组织、成分等进行了分析。通过检测分析发现边部侧翻缺陷在热轧中间坯上已经形成,微观形态为开口指向边部的裂纹且内部氧化物存在分层现象,成因是在高温条件下,在轧制过程中金属横向变形不均匀导致的。据此提出了缺陷的一种形成机理,通过有效的防治措施可以减小甚至消除这种缺陷,降低其对成品成材率的影响。

In the paper, the typical rollover defect at edge on surface of stainless steel plate is studied. The morphology, microstructure and composition of cross section for rollover at edge are analyzed by metallographic microscope and scanning electron microscope. It is found that the rollover defect at edge has formed on hot rolled intermediate billet as well as micro morphology is the crack with opening pointing to edge and there is delamination for subscale, which is caused by uneven transverse deformation of metal in rolling process under high temperature condition. According to this, a type of formation mechanism of the defect is proposed. This defect could be reduced or even eliminated through effective prevention measures so that the impacts of it on yield of finished products could be reduced.

不锈钢由于其优异的耐腐蚀性能被广泛应用于建筑、机械、家电和汽车等领域[1]。随着行业的发展,对不锈钢带钢的需求不断增加,同时对材料表面质量提出了更为严格的要求。边部侧翻缺陷是带钢生产过程中常出现的表面缺陷,其发生率高,形成原因复杂,影响因素多,出现的随机性较大,是热轧板带钢生产中较难治理的表面缺陷之一,目前常用的方法就是通过裁边来消除缺陷对产品质量的影响[2,3]。因此,改善乃至消除热轧过程中产生的边部侧翻缺陷一直是一个重点研究课题。杨文[4]等对Q345B热轧钢板表面长条线状缺陷进行了研究,发现长条状缺陷为折皱,认为其源自连铸坯中的角横裂纹,形成于轧制过程。徐海卫[5]等观察了IF钢热轧薄板边部深度约40 μm的微裂缝缺陷的微观组织与晶界状态,认为IF钢热轧薄板边部微裂纹缺陷主要是中间坯边角部温度过低、热轧过程中发生不均匀变形导致的。喻海良[6]等通过有限元的方法研究了多道次立-平辊轧制轧件角部金属流动状态,发现采用孔型立辊时,轧件角部金属保留在轧件水平面与侧面的交线上,对边部侧翻缺陷具有改善作用。
边部侧翻缺陷的深入研究对于提升产品质量具有重要的意义。目前,人们对不锈钢热轧带钢边部侧翻缺陷的研究相对较少,尤其是对热轧中间坯的表面侧翻缺陷情况不清楚,未明确具体形成阶段和演化过程。因此,本文基于对工业热轧中间坯的宏观表面状态和微观组织进行分析,初步探索了不锈钢热轧过程中边部侧翻缺陷的形成过程及演化机理。
试验材料为不锈钢热轧中间坯,厚度为42 mm。通过线切割切取试样的横截面(靠近表面的1/3处)进行实验分析,对实验材料进行抛光打磨,并使用V(硝酸)∶V(盐酸)∶V(乙醇)=1∶1∶1的溶液进行腐蚀,腐蚀时间60~90 s。采用光学显微镜观察试样金相组织形貌,采用ZEISS扫描电镜结合能谱仪观察截面组织及成分,分析检验,并找出热轧中间坯边部侧翻缺陷。
一直以来,侧翻缺陷都是热轧带钢的主要表面质量缺陷之一。图1是工业生产的不锈钢不同轧制状态下表面产生的边部侧翻缺陷宏观形貌。分析热轧中间坯和经过酸洗后的热轧带钢的表面不难发现,边部侧翻缺陷均表现为边部直线状,集中分布于边部一定范围内,并沿着轧制方向不断延伸。对比发现,侧翻缺陷在铸坯经过五道次可逆热轧后的中间坯表面已经产生,经过后续热连轧工艺得到的不锈钢带钢,酸洗后的表面侧翻缺陷则更加明显,且缺陷宽度进一步增大,这严重影响不锈钢带钢的表面质量和成品成材率。
通过对热轧中间坯侧翻缺陷区域横截面进行显微形貌观察发现,表面侧翻缺陷的微观形貌为一道距离表面清晰可见、深度大约为400 μm的裂纹状缺陷,该缺陷的扩展方向与表面存在一定的倾斜角度,同时裂纹的开口方向指向轧材的侧面,该开口位置宏观表现为延轧向的线状缺陷,不锈钢热轧中间坯侧翻缺陷区域横截面微观形貌如图2所示。如图2(b)所示为侧翻缺陷SEM微观形貌,在扫描电镜下对裂纹内部分析,发现缺陷内部氧化物之间存在较为明显的分层现象。
图3为裂纹内部EDS能谱分析结果,表1为裂纹内部的能谱分析结果,结果显示裂纹内部为氧化铁。此现象与文献[7]结果相近,初步判断这种裂纹缺陷形成于高温条件下。
图4可见,裂纹内部的主要元素有Fe、O、Cr、C,故裂纹处析出物主要为氧化铁,并未出现其余成分,故这种裂纹缺陷在高温条件下形成。同时,分层现象表明在高温环境下,裂纹原始表面在没有形成裂纹之前就已经发生氧化。
从以上结果分析来看,沿轧制方向的宏观直线状表面侧翻缺陷在微观状态下是一种开口指向侧面、与表面存在一定夹角的裂纹状缺陷,该裂纹的开口部分表现为宏观表面侧翻缺陷;裂纹内部SEM观察,成分元素有Fe、O、Cr、C,内部主要为氧化铁。因此可以认为这种裂纹缺陷在高温轧制时已经形成,同时表明在高温环境下,裂纹的原始表面在没有折叠成裂纹之前就已经发生氧化。
结合文献[8-10]研究判断,造成不锈钢热轧中间坯产生侧翻缺陷的原因为高温轧件在轧制过程中与轧辊之间的接触摩擦导致的金属横向流动不均匀,在轧制变形过程中,产生了侧面金属向轧件表面的演化,进而形成侧翻表面。同时,由于轧制过程中轧件角部金属的温度下降严重以及变形应力结构复杂,角部附近的微小区域极易形成相对变形凹陷。在轧件减薄的过程中,变形凹陷的表面相互接触形成堆叠型裂纹并伴随侧翻变形上翻到轧件表面,因此,该裂纹的两个面即为原始铸坯的侧面演化而来。铸坯在加热过程中因氧化而产生氧化层,文中分析的粗轧中间坯侧翻缺陷中的分层状氧化层即由此演化而来。该裂纹在向表面演化的过程中轧材的原始角部首先翻转到轧材表面上来,同时裂纹的开口端也随之进行上翻,而靠近裂纹尖端的位置最后翻平,因此裂纹在侧翻到轧件表面时出现倾斜,开口指向轧件边部。随着轧制道次的增加,轧材厚度被不断压缩并且伴随着侧翻变形,侧翻量随着轧制道次的增加而增大,侧翻缺陷也伴随侧翻量的增大而向宽面中心移动,但在整个变形过程中侧翻缺陷的长度并未发生变化,沿轧制方向呈直线分布。
轧材继续减薄直到轧制成型,转移到轧材表面的裂纹缺陷深度随着轧材的变薄也逐渐降低,同时开口逐渐闭合,最终热轧侧翻缺陷位于边部一定范围内,主要沿轧制方向延伸、具有一定方向性且开口方向指向轧材侧面的闭合型裂纹缺陷。不锈钢热轧中间坯边部侧翻缺陷形成过程示意图及结果对比如图5所示,计算结果中的缺陷位置以及形态和开口方向均与工业热轧结果一致。
上述分析表明,不锈钢热轧中间坯的边部侧翻缺陷主要与金属的横向不均匀流动有关。在不锈钢生产过程中,通过减小轧辊和轧件之间的摩擦、改善铸坯形状以及调整立辊变形量,尽量使铸坯轧制横向变形均匀。在产线无法实现过多减小轧制摩擦力时,对于轧制不锈钢带钢,采用优化铸坯横截面形状,调整边部直角为内凹圆弧状,抵消轧制过程中产生的横向不均匀变形,同时配合设置合理的立辊压下量,对不锈钢热轧中间坯的边部侧翻缺陷位置与严重程度有一定的改善效果。
(1)边部侧翻缺陷是一种表面裂纹缺陷,在热轧中间坯上已经产生,形成于高温条件下,内部夹杂物主要以Fe、Cr氧化物为主;
(2)边部侧翻微观形态为开口指向边部的裂纹且内部氧化物存在分层现象,成因是由于轧制过程中金属横向变形不均匀导致的;
(3)可以通过优化铸坯横截面等方式有效的防治措施减小侧翻缺陷对于成品成材率的影响。
