In the article, the influences of changes of vanadium (V) content on microstructure and properties of high carbon steel are studied. The high carbon test steels with different technologies and V contents are tested and analyzed with the tensile test and hardness test as well as observation with metalloscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that there were influences of changes of V content on mechanical properties of high carbon steel. All the strength, hardness and ductility of high carbon steel could be slightly decreased with lower V content under conventional process conditions. Moreover, there are influences of heat treatment process on high carbon steel with different V contents. The ductility of low V test steel is better than that of high V test steel as well as the changes of strength and hardness for test steel are smaller through reasonably optimizing heat treatment process. Furthermore, it is found in the study that the influences of moderately reducing V content on microstructure of high carbon steel are smaller so that the changes of mechanical properties associated with microstructure are not obvious.

文章研究了钒(V)含量变化对高碳钢的组织和性能影响。采用拉伸、硬度测试以及金相显微镜和扫描电镜观察,对采用不同工艺和不同V含量条件下的高碳试验钢进行了测试和分析。结果表明,V含量变化对高碳钢的力学性能存在影响,常规工艺条件下,较低的V含量会使高碳钢的强度、硬度和塑性出现轻微下降。热处理工艺对不同V含量的高碳钢存在影响,通过合理优化热处理工艺,低钒试验钢的塑性优于高钒试验钢,且试验钢强度、硬度性能变化较小。此外,研究还发现适量降低钒含量对高碳钢显微组织影响较小,因此与显微组织相关的力学性能变化不明显。

文章研究了钒(V)含量变化对高碳钢的组织和性能影响。采用拉伸、硬度测试以及金相显微镜和扫描电镜观察,对采用不同工艺和不同V含量条件下的高碳试验钢进行了测试和分析。结果表明,V含量变化对高碳钢的力学性能存在影响,常规工艺条件下,较低的V含量会使高碳钢的强度、硬度和塑性出现轻微下降。热处理工艺对不同V含量的高碳钢存在影响,通过合理优化热处理工艺,低钒试验钢的塑性优于高钒试验钢,且试验钢强度、硬度性能变化较小。此外,研究还发现适量降低钒含量对高碳钢显微组织影响较小,因此与显微组织相关的力学性能变化不明显。

In the article, the influences of changes of vanadium (V) content on microstructure and properties of high carbon steel are studied. The high carbon test steels with different technologies and V contents are tested and analyzed with the tensile test and hardness test as well as observation with metalloscope and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that there were influences of changes of V content on mechanical properties of high carbon steel. All the strength, hardness and ductility of high carbon steel could be slightly decreased with lower V content under conventional process conditions. Moreover, there are influences of heat treatment process on high carbon steel with different V contents. The ductility of low V test steel is better than that of high V test steel as well as the changes of strength and hardness for test steel are smaller through reasonably optimizing heat treatment process. Furthermore, it is found in the study that the influences of moderately reducing V content on microstructure of high carbon steel are smaller so that the changes of mechanical properties associated with microstructure are not obvious.

高碳钢以其卓越的机械性能和广泛的应用潜力成为金属材料研究领域的重要对象。高碳钢的主要特性是具有良好的硬度、强度和耐磨性,因而在工具制造、机械零部件及铁路轨道等多个领域广泛应用。然而,随着各行业对钢铁材料性能要求的不断提高,现有材料性能已难以满足使用需求。钒作为一种重要的合金元素,在金属材料中被广泛应用,尤其是在高碳钢的研究中,由于其出色的强化作用,逐渐受到重视。
钒(V)元素作为“现代工业的味精”,在钢中可起到细化晶粒和析出强化作用,能显著改善钢的强度、硬度和塑韧性[1-2]。此外,钒的加入还能够提高钢材的淬透性,使得在热处理过程中可获得均匀的硬化效果,从而提高钢材的整体性能。目前,V微合金钢已广泛应用于厚板、热轧带钢、长型材以及无缝钢管等产品,在改善产品性能上效果突出。
由于V微合金钢具备优良的强韧性能,也使其在部分高碳钢轨钢中得到了应用。钢轨作为保障铁路稳定、安全运行的关键因素之一,其强度、塑韧性及耐磨性等指标备受关注。目前,高碳珠光体钢轨(碳含量为0.65%~0.82%)因其良好的强韧性匹配成为铁路建设主要使用的钢轨。极少量的V元素在高碳钢中便能表现出较好的强化作用,因此含V高碳钢强度、硬度等力学性能得到提高,但V元素的最佳添加量及其含量变化对高碳钢性能影响并未得到充分研究。鉴于此,本文在现有高碳钢轨钢成分基础上,通过基础力学性能测试与数据统计分析,综合考虑材料强韧性改善以及资源有效利用,对高碳钢V含量的控制及其对组织和性能的影响进行了研究。
试验用高碳钢的组成元素主要包括碳(C)、硅(Si)、锰(Mn)、钒(V),其余为铁(Fe)及杂质元素如硫(S)和磷(P)等。C是钢的基本强化元素,能促进珠光体组织的转变,从而保证钢材具有良好的强度和硬度。然而,过高的碳含量会降低钢的塑韧性,并影响焊接性能。Si元素在钢中以固溶形式存在,主要提高钢的强度、硬度和屈强比,但同时也会降低钢的塑韧性及可焊性。Mn既是固溶强化元素,又是碳化物形成元素。Mn固溶在钢基体内,可以提高铁素体强度,进入渗碳体后可部分代替Fe原子,提高钢的强度和硬度,同时Mn也可以降低珠光体转变温度,提高钢的淬透性,减小珠光体片层间距。但Mn含量过高会增加异常组织和白点形成的可能性以及铸坯偏析的敏感性,还会大幅降低钢的焊接性能,粗化晶粒尺寸。V在钢中为析出强化元素,在冷却过程中形成V(C,N)化合物,可阻碍晶粒长大,增强钢的强韧性。V含量较低时,析出强化及阻碍晶粒长大效果不明显;V含量较高时,对钢性能提高效果不显著,且增加成本。国内部分钢厂V强化的U75VH高碳钢轨钢化学成分及对应的力学性能见表1
表1数据来看,成分方面,几家钢厂C、Si、Mn、P、S元素含量控制基本一致,仅V含量控制存在较大差别,最低为0.040%,最高可达0.072%;但在力学性能方面,不同钢厂所生产的钢轨钢之间抗拉强度、伸长率和硬度(HBW)却没有明显差别。这表明在一定V含量范围内,钢的力学性能并不会随着V含量的增加而提高。为进一步确定V含量对高碳钢性能的影响,在严格控制C、Si、Mn、P、S含量条件下,通过冶炼、轧制,并采用常规U75VH热处理工艺制备出不同V含量的高碳试验钢,对其力学性能进行测试和分析。表2为U75VH钢轨钢化学成分。
根据上文所设计的成分,在忽略除V元素以外其他元素含量以及生产工艺波动对钢的细微影响,仅考虑V含量变化对性能的影响,对高碳钢的力学性能与V含量的关系进行分析,如图1所示。由于实际冶炼过程中存在波动和误差,所得样本数量并不是均匀分布在各个V含量数值上,在分析时忽略样本个数较少的成分点,因此仅分析V含量为0.042%~0.050%、0.065%~0.076%时(图中标有箭头的成分范围)钢力学性能的变化。
根据图1所示结果可以看出,V含量变化对强度、伸长率及硬度带来了不同的影响。抗拉强度方面,当V含量在0.042%~0.050%区间时,平均抗拉强度呈现先升高后平稳的趋势,处于1 239~1 259 MPa范围内,最小值为1 239.4 MPa(V含量0.042%),最大值为1 258.6 MPa(V含量0.048%);当V含量在0.065%~0.076%区间时,平均抗拉强度处于1 255~1 267 MPa范围内,最小值为1 255.0 MPa(V含量0.076%),最大值为1 266.2 MPa(V含量0.067%)。值得注意的是,当V含量为0.065%时平均抗拉强度为1 256.3 MPa,与V含量为0.048%时的平均抗拉强度值相近,但当V含量增加到0.066%时,平均抗拉强度得到一定程度的提高,达到1 265.7 MPa,随后V含量继续增加,平均抗拉强度没有显著变化。
伸长率方面,当V含量在0.042%~0.050%区间时,平均伸长率总体在10.7%~11.0%范围内,呈先下降后升高趋势,最小值为10.73%(V含量0.047%),最大值为10.98%(V含量0.044%);当V含量在0.065%~0.076%区间时,平均伸长率处于11.0%~11.5%范围内,呈先下降后升高趋势,最大值为11.49%(V含量0.073%),最小值为10.95%(V含量0.067%)。
硬度方面,当V含量在0.042%~0.050%区间时,平均硬度(HBW)处于356~361范围内,呈先升高后降低趋势,最小值为356.7(V含量0.042%),最大值为360.2(V含量0.048%);当V含量在0.065%~0.076%区间时,平均硬度(HBW)处于360~364范围内,呈先升高后平稳趋势,最小值为360.5(V含量0.076%),最大值为363.2(V含量0.066%)。同时,该区间内平均硬度(HBW)走势与平均抗拉强度相近,即当V含量为0.065%时平均硬度(HBW)为359.5,与V含量为0.048%时的平均硬度(HBW)相近,但当V含量增加到0.066%时,平均硬度(HBW)得到一定程度的提高,达到363.2,随后V含量继续增加,平均硬度(HBW)没有显著变化。
综合上述分析,可以看出高碳钢在低钒(0.042%~0.050%)和高钒(0.065%~0.076%)两个成分区间呈现不同的力学性能。对于低钒试验钢,V含量控制在0.048%时综合力学性能最好,此时平均抗拉强度为1 258.6 MPa,平均伸长率为10.80%,平均硬度(HBW)为360.2。对于高钒试验钢,V含量控制在0.066%时综合力学性能最好,此时平均抗拉强度为1 265.7 MPa,平均伸长率为11.32%,平均硬度(HBW)为363.2。同时,根据图1试验钢力学性能曲线的走势,可以发现相较于低钒(0.042%~0.050%)试验钢,并不是所有的高钒(0.065%~0.076%)试验钢力学性能得到提高,观察可知在V含量为0.066%时试验钢平均抗拉强度和平均硬度(HBW)存在拐点,性能得到提高,而当V含量为0.065%时平均抗拉强度和平均硬度(HBW)与低钒试验钢保持在同一水平,仅平均伸长率得到改善。当V含量高于0.066%时,继续提高V含量,高钒试验钢力学性能没有显著改善。
进一步对比低钒和高钒成分范围最优力学性能值(分别对应V含量为0.048%和0.066%),可以发现相比高钒试验钢,低钒试验钢的平均抗拉强度降低7.1 MPa,平均伸长率降低0.52个百分点,平均硬度(HBW)仅降低3.0,降幅分别为0.6%、4.6%和0.8%。除伸长率降幅较为明显外,强度、硬度降幅并不显著。从图1中V含量各点对应实测力学性能数据纵向分布位置来看,同一成分所对应的试验钢强度、伸长率和硬度值均呈一定范围分布,因此对比不同成分之间的力学性能实测数据值,可以发现低钒试验钢的力学性能部分实测值高于高钒试验钢,这种差异是由V含量以外的成分波动、热处理工艺等因素导致的,意味着通过改善这些因素,有机会改善低钒试验钢的力学性能,使其达到高钒试验钢的水平,这样便可在维持钢力学性能的同时,有效提高钒资源的利用率。依据该思想,试验选择控制C、Si、Mn等元素含量不变,设置低钒试验组和高钒试验组,结合V含量控制优化以及改善热处理工艺两个方面进一步研究V含量对高碳钢的性能影响。
为改善工艺不合理、不稳定的影响,试验以改进热处理工艺为出发点,通过合理设计各阶段冷速及停留时间,在相同生产工艺以及不改变其他元素含量的基础上,分别试制生产高碳钢低钒试验组10炉和高钒对照试验组10炉。两试验组设计时V含量按上文最优成分设计(低钒为0.048%,高钒为0.066%),但由于试验条件所限,不能达到完全准确,低钒试验组V含量为0.045%~0.054%,高钒试验组V含量为0.065%~0.071%。各试验组V含量及其对应的力学性能如图2所示,由于20炉试验钢所检测出的V含量有的相同,有的不同,故若图示某V含量仅对应一炉试验钢,取该炉试验钢力学性能的实测值为该V含量对应的平均值。表3为两试验组各项指标的总平均值。
表3可以看出,两试验组平均V含量相差0.018个百分点,经过热处理工艺调整后,低钒试验组在平均抗拉强度和平均硬度(HBW)方面略微低于高钒试验组,分别相差6.5 MPa和0.6,降幅分别为0.5%和0.2%。但在伸长率方面,低钒试验组明显较高,平均伸长率较高钒试验组提高0.95个百分点,增幅达到9.1%。这表明优化后的热处理工艺对低钒试验钢的力学性能有明显的改善作用,不仅缩小了低钒和高钒试验钢抗拉强度和硬度(HBW)的差距,还使得低钒试验钢的伸长率提高,并超过了高钒试验钢。
结合图1图2对比热处理工艺调整前后综合力学性能最优的低钒和高钒试验钢,V含量及对应的力学性能数据见表4。可以看出,V含量为0.048%的低钒试验钢在调整工艺后,其力学性能与性能最优的高钒试验钢(调整工艺前,V含量0.066%)基本一致,甚至在抗拉强度和伸长率方面略高于高钒试验钢,这表明通过改善热处理工艺,可以使低钒试验钢力学性能到达高钒试验钢的水平。
为进一步确认V含量对高碳钢组织的影响,从两试验组中各随机抽取一块试验钢,进行晶粒度评级以及珠光体片间距测量。原奥氏体晶粒照片如图3所示,珠光体片层照片如图4所示。
晶粒度评级采用截点法,两个试验钢各取三个视场进行评级,低钒试验钢平均晶粒度等级为6.73级,平均截距为31.1 μm;高钒试验钢平均晶粒度等级为6.94级,平均截距为28.9 μm,两者晶粒度评级相差不超过0.25级,考虑到测量误差及取样位置等影响,这种差别并不显著,表明在本试验条件下,适当降低钒含量(平均降低0.018%)对高碳钢晶粒度无显著影响。
珠光体片间距测定,在两个试验钢距表面10 mm处各取6个点位,每点位进行10组以上的珠光体片间距测量并求得平均值,所得平均珠光体片间距低钒试验钢为0.113 μm,高钒试验钢为0.110 μm,两者基本一致,表明适量降低钒含量对高碳钢珠光体片层间距无显著影响。
一般而言,微合金化元素(如Nb、V、Ti等)在钢中的作用为析出强化和抑制再结晶。研究表明[1],对于V微合金钢而言,高温固溶状态下的V溶质拖拽作用与Nb相比非常微弱,而其析出相约在850 ℃(析出温度与化学成分相关)时开始出现,对要进行热处理的高碳钢而言,析出相粒子的钉扎作用对原奥氏体晶粒大小的影响有限。因此推断本试验条件下V含量的变化对钢的再结晶影响较小,从而使得低钒试验组和高钒试验组原奥氏体晶粒度差别较小,力学性能相近。
影响珠光体片间距因素包含冷却速度、合金元素含量以及奥氏体晶粒大小等因素。在本试验中,在热处理工艺相同和奥氏体晶粒大小相近的条件下,低钒试验组与高钒试验组统计平均值差别仅为0.003 μm,仅从合金元素方面考虑,表明两试验组V含量的变化对珠光体片层间距影响非常小,进而可以推断试验设定的V含量变化对试验钢的强度、硬度和塑性影响较小。
微合金元素的析出强化作用会提高钢的强度和硬度,降低塑性和韧性,因此较高的添加量不仅不会带来进一步的性能增强,反而还可能带来不利的影响。本试验条件下,通过热处理工艺调整,低钒试验钢在抗拉强度、伸长率和硬度(HBW)方面基本与高钒试验钢持平,并且伸长率略微高于高钒试验钢,这表明高钒试验钢的V含量已有冗余,并且其析出强化作用已经开始影响到材料的塑性,这对伸长率本来就很低的高钒试验钢是非常不利的,而且也造成了V金属资源的不必要浪费。
(1)常规热处理工艺条件下,与V含量为0.065%~0.076%的高碳钢相比,V含量为0.042%~0.050%的高碳钢强度、硬度和塑性均出现下降。
(2)热处理工艺对不同V含量的高碳钢存在影响。通过合理优化热处理工艺,低钒试验钢的塑性优于高钒试验钢,且强度、硬度性能变化较小。
(3)适量降低钒含量对高碳钢显微组织影响较小。由于低钒和高钒试验钢晶粒度及珠光体片间距差距并不显著,因此与显微组织相关的力学性能变化不明显。
