In this paper, the continuous cooling transformation (CCT) behavior of undercooled austenite and hardenability at different quenching temperatures of 770 MPa grade steel for crane boom are systematically studied. The critical transformation points of test steel are determined and evolution rules of metallographic structure for test steel at different cooling speeds are analyzed through thermal simulation test. The results showed that complete martensitic structure could be obtained when cooling speed reached above 30 ℃/s. The depth of hardening layer corresponding to 50% of martensitic structure content was 30 mm when hot quenching was at 920 ℃, which showed that test steel was with good hardenability.

In this paper, the continuous cooling transformation (CCT) behavior of undercooled austenite and hardenability at different quenching temperatures of 770 MPa grade steel for crane boom are systematically studied. The critical transformation points of test steel are determined and evolution rules of metallographic structure for test steel at different cooling speeds are analyzed through thermal simulation test. The results showed that complete martensitic structure could be obtained when cooling speed reached above 30 ℃/s. The depth of hardening layer corresponding to 50% of martensitic structure content was 30 mm when hot quenching was at 920 ℃, which showed that test steel was with good hardenability.

随着现代工业技术的快速发展,恰当的热处理工艺可以消除钢材热加工产生的各种缺陷,降低内应力。此外,热处理还能为后续的钢材加工和表面处理提供良好的金相组织,从而确保产品的整体性能和安全使用。在起重机臂架管等关键结构件的生产过程中,热处理是保障产品性能优异、延长使用寿命的关键技术之一[1]。对于起重机臂架用钢而言,通过合理控制过冷奥氏体的转变过程,可以实现材料组织和性能的精准调控,从而获得理想的硬度、强度和韧性组合,确保起重机臂架用钢在复杂工况下的稳定性和耐久性。其中,淬透性是衡量钢管在淬火过程中获得均匀组织和保证性能的重要指标。
770 MPa级起重机臂架用钢采用Cr+Mo+V+Ni的成分设计,本文通过研究其淬透性,为指导现场制定热处理工艺制度提供理论支撑。
取两支300 mm长的770 MPa级起重机臂架用钢坯,分别轧制成厚度为20 mm和35 mm的钢板,其中厚度为20 mm的钢板加工成Φ3 mm×10 mm的圆棒试样,并在试样一侧横断面的中心位置加工一个Φ2 mm×2 mm 的小孔,试样数量为25个,用于过冷奥氏体连续冷却转变试验。厚度为35 mm 的钢板制成6个Φ25 mm×100 mm的试样,用于淬透性试验。试验材料的化学成分见表1
钢的过冷奥氏体连续冷却转变曲线(CCT曲线)表征过冷奥氏体在连续降温条件下的转变行为规律,不仅揭示了连续冷却过程中奥氏体如何演变及其产物的组织结构与性能特性,也是制定热处理工艺不可或缺的参考依据,对于优化材料性能、控制转变产物的显微组织及预测材料最终性能具有重要意义[2]。本文依据YB/T 5127—1993《钢的临界点测定方法》[3]和YB/T 5128—2018《钢的连续冷却转变曲线图的测定方法》[4],采用日本Formastor-F快速热膨胀相变仪测定了770 MPa级起重机臂架用钢的CCT曲线,研究该钢种在不同冷却速率下过冷奥氏体的组织转变规律。
以10 ℃/s的速率将试样加热至880 ℃,保温10 min后,分别以30 ℃/s、20 ℃/s、10 ℃/s、5 ℃/s、3 ℃/s、1 ℃/s、0.5 ℃/s、0.2 ℃/s的冷却速率降至室温,测定试样的临界温度Ac3Ac1,并在显微镜下观察不同冷却速率条件下生成的金相组织形貌。
淬透性是指经过奥氏体化后的钢在淬火时获得马氏体的能力。钢的淬透性可通过淬透层深度来评估,淬透层深度通常被定义为从淬火工件表面至马氏体组织含量达到50%的距离。淬透层深度越大,意味着钢的淬透性能越好[5]。对于合金钢而言,合适的淬火温度一般比普通碳钢高,这是因为大部分合金元素形成的碳化物在高温下不易溶解,所以为了使奥氏体中碳元素和合金元素充分溶解和均匀化,应该适当提高淬火温度,获得更好的淬火效果。针对此钢种,淬火加热温度应高于Ac3以上50~150 ℃,保温时间为40 min。依据GB/T 225—2006《钢淬透性的末端淬火试验方法》[6]进行不同淬火温度的淬透性试验。将淬火后的试样按照GB/T 230.1—2018《金属材料洛氏硬度试验第1部分 试验方法》[7]的规定,磨制出两个相互平行的平面,采用洛氏硬度计测量试样硬度,测量位置分别为距淬火端面1.5 mm、3 mm、5 mm、7 mm、9 mm、11 mm、13 mm、15 mm、20 mm、25 mm、30 mm。
过冷奥氏体转变是热处理过程中的一个关键环节,它涉及到奥氏体在不同冷却速率下的相变行为,包括珠光体转变、贝氏体转变和马氏体转变等。这些相变过程不仅影响材料的最终性能,还直接决定了热处理工艺的选择和优化。对于起重机臂架用钢而言,通过合理控制过冷奥氏体的转变过程,可以实现材料组织和性能的精准调控,确保起重机臂架用钢在复杂工况下的稳定性和耐久性。图1图2分别是试验钢的CCT曲线和不同冷速下的金相组织。
图1可知,试验钢的Ac3为795 ℃,Ac1为656 ℃。冷却速率从左到右依次是30 ℃/s、20 ℃/s、10 ℃/s、5 ℃/s、3 ℃/s、1 ℃/s 、0.5 ℃/s、0.2 ℃/s。在冷却过程中,不同转变温度下发生的相变有珠光体(P)、铁素体(F)、贝氏体(B)和马氏体(M)。由图1图2可知,当冷却速率低于1 ℃/s时,冷却曲线经过了先共析铁素体、珠光体与贝氏体的相变区。此过程中,奥氏体晶界首先析出先共析铁素体和粒状珠光体,随着温度的继续降低,进入贝氏体转变区,最终在室温下获得包含先共析铁素体、珠光体及贝氏体的混合组织。当冷却速率在1~30 ℃/s的范围内时,冷却曲线跨过了贝氏体相变区和马氏体相变区,在贝氏体转变完成后,剩余的奥氏体部分转变为板条状马氏体。因此,室温下得到的组织由贝氏体与马氏体组成,且随着冷却速率的提高,马氏体的含量显著增加,而当冷却速率达到30 ℃/s时,冷却过程仅发生马氏体转变,此速率被定义为马氏体转变的临界冷却速率,最终的组织完全由马氏体构成。
根据CCT曲线测试结果,试验钢的Ac3为795 ℃,设计试验钢的淬火温度分别为880 ℃、900 ℃和920 ℃。表2给出了三种不同淬火温度下,距离淬火端面不同深度处洛氏硬度的检测结果。结果显示,在距淬火端面1.5~5 mm的范围内,各淬火温度下的洛氏硬度值相对稳定,基本维持在一个稳定水平,表明试验钢经淬火后形成了均匀一致的组织结构。在距淬火端面7~30 mm的范围内,三种淬火温度下的试验钢硬度值均呈现下降趋势。
马氏体的硬度主要取决于马氏体的碳含量,已有学者得出了不同马氏体含量的硬度与碳含量的关系,当试验钢的碳含量为0.16%时,50%马氏体组织含量的硬度(HRC)为28[8-9]。由此判断,920 ℃淬火后,试验钢对应50%马氏体组织含量的淬透层深度为30 mm,900 ℃和880 ℃淬火后,试样钢对应50%马氏体组织含量的淬透层深度为20 mm。
图3为试验钢不同淬火温度下的淬透性曲线。由图3可知,920 ℃高温淬火后的淬透性最好,在距淬火端面7 mm范围内,920 ℃淬火试样的淬透性曲线与900 ℃淬火试样的淬透性曲线基本重合。上述结果表明,随着奥氏体化温度的升高,奥氏体晶粒逐渐变大,钢的成分更加均匀,从而提高了钢的淬透性。
(1)当冷却速率低于 1 ℃/s时,试验钢在室温下获得先共析铁素体、珠光体及贝氏体的混合组织。当冷却速率在1~30 ℃/s的范围内时,试验钢在室温下得到的组织由贝氏体与马氏体组成。当冷却速率大于30 ℃/s时,试验钢在室温下的组织完全由马氏体构成。
(2)试验钢在900 ℃和880 ℃淬火后,对应50%马氏体组织含量的淬透层深度为20 mm,在920 ℃淬火后,对应50%马氏体组织含量的淬透层深度为30 mm,表明770 MPa级起重机臂架用钢在920 ℃高温淬火后表现出更好的淬透性。
