In this paper, it is introduced the determination of oxygen content in lanthanum-iron alloy with the pulse melting-infrared absorption method. The preparation method and optimal analysis conditions are determined by studying the preparation methods of sample as well as analyzing the effects of power, weighing sample and flux on determination results of oxygen content. The standard deviation is less than 5% and recovery rate is 95%~105% for this method, so it is with good precision and accuracy.

In this paper, it is introduced the determination of oxygen content in lanthanum-iron alloy with the pulse melting-infrared absorption method. The preparation method and optimal analysis conditions are determined by studying the preparation methods of sample as well as analyzing the effects of power, weighing sample and flux on determination results of oxygen content. The standard deviation is less than 5% and recovery rate is 95%~105% for this method, so it is with good precision and accuracy.

近年来,随着稀土在钢中的应用研究不断深入,对炼钢过程中加入稀土铁合金品种及加入工艺有了更全面的认识。在炼钢过程中加入稀土铁合金可以变质夹杂物,净化钢液,还可以起到微合金化的作用。加入稀土后,钢中夹杂物粒径会变小,分布更加弥散,从而提高钢材抗疲劳性能及冲击性能,还会推迟上贝氏体的形成和抑制焊接过程中奥氏体晶粒的长大,从而改善钢的焊接性能[1]。由于稀土镧铁合金成本较低,因此在稀土钢开发与应用方面使用较广泛。钢中稀土夹杂物主要以氧化物、硫化物和氧硫化物形式存在,为了保证稀土加入量和控制稀土夹杂物,除了对加入方式、加入工序位置进行研究外,还需对稀土合金中的氧含量进行准确检测以保证加入稀土铁合金后发挥正向作用。
目前,钢中的氧含量主要采取国家标准GB/T 11261—2006进行测定[2]。采用该方法分析时,由于镧铁合金样品经过高温熔融后极易挥发,形成金属镧,从而与稀土合金中的氧和石墨坩埚中的碳发生化学反应生成的一氧化碳中的氧再次结合为氧化物,导致最终到达红外检测器的一氧化碳急剧减少,使得镧铁合金中的氧含量的检测值偏低,对镧铁合金的质量验收造成影响。目前,国内对稀土合金中的氧含量测定的研究也有报道,稀土合金中的氧含量普遍采用国家标准GB/T 2146.5—2022[3]进行测定。该方法在样品制备方面要求严格,需在惰性气体氛围制备成2~4 mm的屑状样品,因此在实际操作中很难完成。文献[4]报道试样采用锉刀打磨出新鲜表面,深度剥离后制成0.10~0.20 g块状样品,在超声波作用下,用四氯化碳清洗3 min,干燥备用。在实际操作中,由于镧铁样品具有较高延展性、韧性和硬度,制备过程也存在困难。
本文主要通过研究样品制备方法和仪器分析功率、称样量、助熔剂对镧铁合金中的氧含量测定结果的影响,确定样品制备方法和最佳的分析条件,实现对镧铁合金中的氧含量的准确测定,为镧铁合金验收提供质量保证。
实验使用仪器为ON836氧氮分析仪(美国LECO公司),载气为高纯氦气(纯度≥99.99%),动力气为氮气。试剂为丙酮(AR)、无水高氯酸镁、钢中氧标准物质。助溶剂为高纯镍囊、锡片。
样品置于石墨坩埚,经脉冲电极炉加热到3 000 ℃,在氦气氛围保护下,样品中的氧元素与石墨坩埚本身的碳元素反应生成一氧化碳与二氧化碳混合气体,混合气体被载气带入红外检测器,一氧化碳直接被检测,或经加热催化转化成二氧化碳被检测,最终经软件处理得到氧含量。
氧氮分析仪的载气流量为450 mL/min,脱气功率为5 500 W,脱气时间为20 s,分析功率为5 000 W,延迟时间为45 s,积分延时为2 s;带锯线速度为25 m/min,给进速度为25 mm/min,主轴转速为900 r/min。
稀土元素具有很强的活性,在空气中极易与氧发生化学反应,从而影响检测结果的精密度和准确度。因此,在测定稀土铁合金的氧含量的过程中,科学、合理的制样方法是保证检测结果准确的重要条件。本文采取直接钻取、手工剪切和机械加工三种方式制样。
工业生产中,镧铁合金成品以方锭的形式供货,制样环节一般采用钻床直接钻取屑状样品,或者通过液压机破碎后,采用断线钳进行剪切制备。机械加工方法制备样品流程为:从镧铁合金方锭中间位置截取试样,采用高速锯床切割成柱状,经过车床制成直径为5 mm、长约10 cm的棒状试样,最后通过外圆磨床进行抛光,使用砂带机在低转速下打磨样品至外观光滑、出现金属光泽后,立即用气体剪切机剪切成长约1 cm的若干段作为待测试样,剪切后样品直接落入盛有丙酮的窄口瓶中保存。实验结果见表1
表1数据可得出,采用直接钻取试样的方法,稀土元素被氧化,导致结果明显偏高;采用手工制样和机械加工制样,氧含量测定结果相近。采用液压设备进行破碎、手工剪切方法制样,在制备过程中,分析人员需要不断地用断线钳进行修剪,获得合适的分析样品,从而增加了分析人员的工作强度和难度。采用机械加工制样方法可以获得标准样品尺寸,保证分析样品的一致性,因此选择机械加工方法制样。
在分析过程中,称样量过小会导致称量误差增大,从而影响测定结果。而称样量过大会导致稀土在熔融过程中挥发加剧,同时需要的助熔剂量也相应加大,从而导致熔融过程中熔体溅出坩埚的现象发生,出现氧含量测定结果波动较大。选择称样量为0.2~0.4 g、0.4~0.6 g、0.6~0.8 g进行3次平行测定,取平均值,结果见表2。根据表2中氧含量的平均值、相对标准偏差、熔体变化及氧的释放峰形,确定合适的称样量为0.4~0.6 g。
红外吸收法测定氧含量的原理是基于被测物质中含氧的化学物质受热分解后与碳结合生成CO,通过红外检测池测定氧的含量,因此加热单元电极炉功率直接影响氧化物的分解与氧的释放。研究表明,氧化镧(La2O3)与碳在高温加热过程中的化学反应分阶段进行,温度越高,La2O3的碳化越彻底[5]。分析功率与加热温度的对应关系见公式(1)。

式中:T为加热温度;P为分析功率;ABC为不同坩埚对应的系数。
试验以500 W为增量,设计7个功率梯度,对同一镧铁合金试样测定3次,取平均值,结果见表3
随着分析功率的增大,电极加热炉温度升高,氧含量测定值逐渐上升,当分析功率为4 500~5 000 W时,氧释放达到峰值,当分析功率为5 000 W时,测定结果相对标准偏差值最小,精度最好。随着加热功率进一步升高,出现熔体飞溅,影响氧含量的均匀释放。综合考虑分析结果的稳定性及样品熔融情况,仪器分析功率选择5 000 W。
镧属于活泼金属,具有较低的氧化势,镧铁合金熔融后,随着稀土金属的挥发,附着在电极炉内壁上残留的稀土挥发物极易捕捉一氧化碳中的氧而干扰氧的检测,使氧的测定值偏低,因此需要选择适宜的助熔剂来准确测定氧含量。
通常分析金属材料中的氧含量常用的助熔剂有铂、锡、镍等金属,其能使金属材料合金化,从而降低熔点,有利于金属材料中氧的释放,提高测定结果的准确度。铂是最好的助熔剂,但其价格昂贵,不常采用;镍在助熔过程中产生的粉尘较大;锡的熔点较低,除不与石墨浸润外,还可增加流动性,同时,锡还具有防止金属挥发、减少吸气的能力。
综合以上因素,采用不加助熔剂及单一镍囊、单一锡囊、镍囊+锡片助熔剂进行熔融实验。考察氧的释放情况、观察样品的熔化状态、石墨坩埚的污染情况、测定结果等综合因素,结果见表4
不加助熔剂,测定结果明显偏低;采用单一镍或锡作助熔剂,结果也偏低;而采用镍囊+锡片二元浴料作助熔剂对应的氧释放峰对称,无拖尾,熔体光滑,具有金属光泽,排污较少,效果最佳,因此选择镍囊+锡片作助溶剂。
在5 000 W的分析功率下,使用石墨坩埚作载体,以氦气为载气,采用高纯镍囊+锡片作助熔剂,连续十次测定氧含量空白值。氧含量空白值为0.000 35%,标准偏差为0.000 12%。以空白实验标准偏差的3倍计算得到氧含量的检出限为0.000 36%,以空白实验标准偏差的10倍计算出氧含量的测定下限为0.001 2%。
设置分析功率为5 000 W,称取样品质量约为0.5 g,采用镍囊+锡片二元浴料作助熔剂,分别对1#、2#镧铁合金试样的氧含量进行6次测定,测定结果的相对标准偏差均小于5%,具有良好的精密度,测定结果见表5
在1#和2#镧铁合金试样中加入钢铁标准物质GBWE(E)020083,每个样品测定2次,在最佳分析条件下完成加标回收实验,实验结果见表6。回收率在95%~105%之间,满足加标回收实验要求,说明该方法的测定结果准确可靠。
采用机械加工制样方法可以获得标准样品尺寸。通过分析称样量、仪器分析功率及助熔剂对镧铁合金中的氧含量测定结果的影响,得出最佳实验条件为称样量为0.4~0.6 g,仪器分析功率选择5 000 W,助溶剂选择镍囊+锡片。采用脉冲熔融-红外吸收法测定镧铁合金中的氧含量,测定结果的相对标准偏差小于5%,回收率在95%~105%之间,方法的精密度和准确度满足标准要求,为镧铁合金中的氧含量测定提供了可靠的分析方法。
