A compressor outlet tube is a transmission component of sound power, and its sound power loss directly affects the performance of pulse tube cryocoolers. Flexible bellows can adjust the relative positions of compressors and cold fingers in applications compared with traditional rigid smooth tubes. This study analyzed the flow characteristics of two types of connected pipes by simulation, and the influence of different types of connected pipes on the performance of the entire machine was verified experimentally to determine the influence of flexible bellows on the cryocooler. The simulation results demonstrated that mixed flow appears at the ripple of the bellows, resulting in greater resistance loss, when compared with a rigid smooth pipe. Under the same inlet parameters, the outlet mass flow and pressure amplitude were lower, and the sound power loss was greater. The experimental results demonstrated that the input power required by the bellows was higher when the cooling capacity was the same. When the cooling temperature was 37.5 K and the cooling capacity was 0.5 Wthe input power of bellows and smooth tubes was 119 W and 112 W, respectively; when the cooling capacity was 3.0 W, the input power of bellows and smooth tubes was 279 W and 259 W, respectively.

压缩机出口连管作为声功传输部件,其声功损失直接影响脉管制冷机性能。柔性波纹管相比于传统刚性光滑管在应用中可以调整压缩机和冷指相对位置。为研究柔性波纹管对制冷机的影响,采用模拟仿真分析了刚性光滑管和柔性波纹管连管的流动特性,并通过实验验证了两种类型连管对整机性能的影响。模拟结果表明:与刚性光滑管相比,波纹管波纹处出现混合流,产生更多阻力损失;相同入口参数下,出口质量流与压力波幅值更低,声功损失更多。实验结果显示:相同制冷能力时,波纹管所需输入功更多,当制冷温度为37.5 K,制冷量为0.5 W时,波纹管和光滑管输入功分别为119 W和112 W;制冷量为3.0 W时,波纹管和光滑管输入功分别为279 W和259 W。

压缩机出口连管作为声功传输部件,其声功损失直接影响脉管制冷机性能。柔性波纹管相比于传统刚性光滑管在应用中可以调整压缩机和冷指相对位置。为研究柔性波纹管对制冷机的影响,采用模拟仿真分析了刚性光滑管和柔性波纹管连管的流动特性,并通过实验验证了两种类型连管对整机性能的影响。模拟结果表明:与刚性光滑管相比,波纹管波纹处出现混合流,产生更多阻力损失;相同入口参数下,出口质量流与压力波幅值更低,声功损失更多。实验结果显示:相同制冷能力时,波纹管所需输入功更多,当制冷温度为37.5 K,制冷量为0.5 W时,波纹管和光滑管输入功分别为119 W和112 W;制冷量为3.0 W时,波纹管和光滑管输入功分别为279 W和259 W。

A compressor outlet tube is a transmission component of sound power, and its sound power loss directly affects the performance of pulse tube cryocoolers. Flexible bellows can adjust the relative positions of compressors and cold fingers in applications compared with traditional rigid smooth tubes. This study analyzed the flow characteristics of two types of connected pipes by simulation, and the influence of different types of connected pipes on the performance of the entire machine was verified experimentally to determine the influence of flexible bellows on the cryocooler. The simulation results demonstrated that mixed flow appears at the ripple of the bellows, resulting in greater resistance loss, when compared with a rigid smooth pipe. Under the same inlet parameters, the outlet mass flow and pressure amplitude were lower, and the sound power loss was greater. The experimental results demonstrated that the input power required by the bellows was higher when the cooling capacity was the same. When the cooling temperature was 37.5 K and the cooling capacity was 0.5 Wthe input power of bellows and smooth tubes was 119 W and 112 W, respectively; when the cooling capacity was 3.0 W, the input power of bellows and smooth tubes was 279 W and 259 W, respectively.

脉管制冷机包含线性压缩机、连管和冷指[1],压缩机通过连管将声功传输至冷指[2],管内的损失直接影响制冷机性能。M. Dietrich等[3]选择了一根6 m长的连管,但造成了压缩机和冷指之间38%的声功损失,这是因为较长的连管产生较大的摩擦损失。段超祥等[4]采用气库型连管来代替传统细长型,可以极大减小声功的传输损失。Ding Lei等[5]以仿真模型为辅助,从理论和实验方面对压缩机连接管在线性压缩机输出性能方面进行了定量研究,发现在管径为3 mm和4 mm时,压缩机最大输入功随管长的增加而减小。Zhang C. Q.等[6]研究了连接管软管特性对80 K斯特林制冷机的影响,发现制冷机制冷功率的降低和压缩机输入功率的增加是由于软管中压力波相位滞后和振幅衰减。Tong Zhengming等[7]采用CFD和实验相结合的方法分析了不同正弦波纹管的流动特性,给出了摩擦因子f在不同雷诺数Re下的下降趋势。A. R. Al-Obaidi[8]利用数值模拟对不同几何形状波纹管内的流动特性、压降和强化传热进行了分析,最后总结出了fRe的关联式。
压缩机连管的研究及应用多数集中于刚性光滑管,对连管的阻抗匹配特性和流动阻力损失进行研究[9-11],使制冷机性能得到有效提升。并且由于流体在柔性波纹管内的扰动增强从而增加了换热,对于柔性波纹管的研究多数集中于流动与换热方面[12-15]。随着深低温技术的发展,对小型低温制冷机的需求逐渐增加[16-17],在实际运行中冷指与探测器耦合,探测器随时移动,压缩机固定,因此需要采用柔性波纹管来实现冷指的灵活应用。但目前对压缩机柔性波纹管的声功传输研究较少,亟需开展相关研究。本文基于一台单级同轴型脉管制冷机,通过模拟仿真方法研究了柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管的流动特性,分析了管内的声功损失;并通过实验对比了采用柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管连管制冷机的性能,得到了在相同入口参数时柔性波纹管声功损失更大,导致制冷机整机性能相对较低的结论。
利用CFD软件FLUENT对压缩机与脉管制冷机冷指相连接的刚性光滑管和柔性波纹管进行模拟研究。图1所示为两种连接管的轴对称示意图,波纹管由波纹管段(52.4~227.6 mm)与两端直管段组成,柔性波纹管的几何特征包括波纹管长度L、直管段长度E、内径R、波距a、波厚b1、波厚b2和壁厚T,两种连接管长度、内径和壁厚相同,具体几何参数如表1所示。
该模型中工质气体的流动为交变流动[18],采用质量流入口边界条件:
同样有压力出口边界条件:
式中:mapa分别为质量流幅值(kg/s)和压力波幅值(Pa);pm为平均充气压力,Pa;ω=2πf为角速度,rad/s;f为运行频率,Hz;θ为质量流与压力波之间的相位角,(°)。采用一维数值模拟软件计算压缩机连管的进出口参数,作为该模型的初始边界条件。
工作气体是氦气,用理想气体模型[19],其黏性、比热容和导热系数均为温度的函数[20],工作频率为45 Hz,充气压力为3.3 MPa。压力求解器用于求解可压缩交变流动,求解方式采用压力与速度耦合的PISO算法。考虑到在压缩机连管中流动为湍流,因此在模拟中采用k-ω(双能方程)湍流模型。在交变流动仿真过程中,收敛条件与定常流动不同,在周期性条件下,当所有重要参数(压力、质量流和温度等)在迭代周期之后,变化小于1%时[21],可以认为模拟已达到稳态。为了减少计算时间,可以在初始化时采用线性初始化[22]以加快收敛速度。
分别对两种连接管在不同质量流幅值入口条件下进行模拟,通过监测连管入口与出口处截面的面平均质量流与压力波以分析两种连接管在对应位置下的声功。模拟案例如表2所示,该参数值通过一维整机模拟软件在制冷量为0.5~3.0 W时计算所得。

以Case3为例,分析两种连接管的流动特性,对比连管损失。刚性光滑管和柔性波纹管横截面速度分布如图2所示(该位置为最后一段波纹的波峰处,即长度226.400 mm;该时刻为一个周期计算完成时)。由图2可知,两种连接管管壁附近均出现较大的速度梯度,刚性光滑管最大速度(vmax)为12.089 m/s,波纹管为11.514 m/s,这是由于因摩擦阻力引起的“边界层效应”,在柔性波纹管的近壁处尤为明显,边界层越厚流体黏度越大,反映出柔性波纹管具有较大的阻力损失。
图3所示为柔性波纹管最后两个波纹处在一个周期内的轴向截面局部速度矢量图。由图3可知,在波纹处附近出现流速降低的现象,这是由于在波纹处形成了漩涡和混合流,导致波纹处附近的流速降低,甚至降为0。回流的出现是因为流体具有黏性,相邻流体微元之间存在速度梯度,产生黏性力,速度梯度越大,黏性力越大。由式(1)可知,在1/4周期和3/4周期时刻质量流相对较大,流体速度较大,此刻在管壁处速度梯度较为明显,速度边界层较厚;这两个时刻波纹处的回流和扰动现象更加明显,波纹处的最小速度分别为0.354 m/s和0.252 m/s。1/4周期时刻和3/4周期时刻与2/4周期时刻和4/4周期时刻速度值不同是由于在周期刚开始质量流不为0(图7中小图)。2/4周期和3/4周期时刻质量流为负,流动方向相反。
图4所示为两种连管最后两个波纹处的轴向截面局部湍动能图(该时刻为一个周期计算完成时)。两种连管在管壁附近均出现较大的湍动能梯度,柔性波纹管最大湍动能(kmax)为1.756 m2/s2,刚性光滑管最大湍动能为1.607 m2/s2,这是由于湍流边界层的存在使近壁处湍动能大于主流区处,柔性波纹管主流区湍动能同样大于刚性光滑管,湍动能越大阻力越大。柔性波纹管波纹的存在使得扰动增强,湍动能大于刚性光滑管,导致柔性波纹管的能量损失大于刚性光滑管。
图5所示为柔性波纹管Case1~Case6最后两个波纹处的轴向截面局部湍动能图。由图5可知,随着入口质量流幅值的增加,湍动能增加,Case1最大湍动能为1.481 m2/s2, Case6最大湍动能为2.146 m2/s2,导致能量损失逐渐增加。由于Case1~Case6最大湍动能不同,因此图5(a)~(f)湍动能分布不同。
图6所示为两种连接管内质量流幅值变化。由图6可知,52.400 mm处柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管质量流幅值分别为6.290 g/s和6.300 g/s,在此之前同为直管部分的质量流幅值下降斜率几乎一致。227.600 mm处柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管质量流幅值分别为5.867 g/s和5.960 g/s,其中52.400~227.600 mm为波纹段。可见波纹的存在使柔性波纹管质量流幅值下降速率大于刚性光滑管。
由式(4)可知,制冷机性能与输入功成反比,在制冷量一定的情况下,输入功越小,制冷效率越高。由于当冷指入口声功相同时,在冷指结构不变的情况下可以认为制冷量大致相同。因此,通过分析两种连管内声功损失来考虑连管出口(冷指入口)声功相同的情况下连管入口(压缩机出口)声功变化,从而判断制冷机相对性能。式(3)说明声功与质量流幅值和压力波幅值有关。图7所示为不同入口参数下刚性光滑管与柔性波纹管出口质量流幅值之差和压力波幅值之差。由图7可知,Case1~Case6柔性波纹管出口质量流幅值与压力波幅值均小于刚性光滑管,Case1柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管出口质量流幅值分别为4.780 g/s和4.910 g/s,相差0.130 g/s;压力波幅值分别为238.525 kPa和239.762 kPa,相差1.237 kPa。Case6柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管出口质量流幅值分别为6.804 g/s和7.000 g/s,相差0.196 g/s,压力波幅值分别为314.221 kPa和319.734 kPa,相差5.513 kPa。图7中的小图为质量流与压力波出口处一个周期内的曲线图(负号代表运动方向相反),该图两种连管仅有幅值和相位角略有差异,可见质量流相位领先于压力波,两者之间存在一定的相位差。

通过式(4)计算声功,图8所示为不同入口参数下刚性光滑管与柔性波纹管出口声功之差。由图8可知,Case1柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管出口声功分别95.77 W和97.37 W,相差1.6 W。Case6柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管出口声功分别183 W和189.2 W,相差6.2 W。可见声功在柔性波纹管内的损失大于刚性光滑管,声功越大损失越大。图8中右下角小图表示连管出口声功之差。
综上所述,与刚性光滑管相比,柔性波纹管中波纹处具有漩涡和混合流,产生更多损失,使柔性波纹管出口质量流幅值、压力波幅值和声功均小于刚性光滑管。对脉管制冷机而言,在相同声功输入下,进入冷指声功越小,制冷机性能越差,因此在同一制冷温度获得同冷量采用柔性波纹管所需声功大于刚性光滑管。
实验在一台单级脉管制冷机上开展,制冷机的基本结构与实验装置简图如图9所示,该单级脉管制冷机采用同轴布置的方式,包括压缩机、连接管和冷指。
线性压缩机由交直流电源进行驱动,实现压缩机活塞正弦运动,连接管分别采用柔性波纹管和刚性光滑管,冷热端换热器采用线切割方式加工的狭缝式换热器,回热器填料为350#丝网和400#丝网混合填充,热端换热器的冷却方式为水冷,采用室温惯性管气库调相。在冷端换热器处安装电阻加热片通过热平衡的方式来测量冷量,使用Cernox薄膜电阻低温传感器来测量冷头温度,该传感器为负电阻系数,电阻值随着温度的降低逐渐增加,在低温度下测量更准确。充气压力为3.3 MPa,运行频率为45 Hz。
数值模拟研究重点在两种连接管内声功损失的对比,模拟定连管入口声功和实验定连管出口声功从两个角度进行研究,可以更好地反映出柔性波纹管内的声功损失。
测得了37.5 K温区下制冷机获得0.5、1.0、1.5、2.0、2.5、3.0 W所需输入功,如图10所示,与模拟Case1~Case6相对应,以及两种连接管在37.5 K获取1.5 W冷量下频率对制冷机性能的影响,如图11所示。用比卡诺效率rCOP(relative coefficient of performance)表征脉管制冷机的整机性能,rCOP的定义方式如式(5)所示。
图10可知,在制冷温度为37.5 K,制冷量在0.5~3.0 W之间,波纹管所需输入功大于光滑管,当制冷量为0.5 W时,柔性波纹管输入功为119 W,刚性光滑管为112 W,相差7 W(图中数字为两种连接管输入功之差),柔性波纹管rCOP为2.95%,刚性光滑管为3.11%,后者rCOP略高。当制冷量为3.0 W时,柔性波纹管输入功为279 W,刚性光滑管为259 W,相差20 W,柔性波纹管rCOP为7.52%,刚性光滑管为8.12%,后者rCOP略高。可知当制冷量增加时连管为柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管所需输入功之差和rCOP之差均逐渐增加。rCOP之差增加是由于当制冷量增加时制冷机对冷指入口声功需求增加,柔性波纹管的声功损失增加。

图11可知,在37.5 K获取1.5 W冷量时,随着频率的增加,两种连接管所需输入功均先减小后增加,均存在一个最佳频率45 Hz使制冷机性能最佳,柔性波纹管rCOP为6.26%,刚性光滑管rCOP为6.76%,后者略高,此时两种连接管输入功之差为9 W(图中数字为两种连接管输入功之差)。
该实验现象与模拟分析的结果相互对应,两种连管在同一制冷温度获得同冷量时,冷指入口声功相同,而柔性波纹管中的声功损失大于刚性光滑管,因此,柔性波纹管需要更多的输入功使制冷机达到与刚性光滑管相同的制冷量。由于制冷量的增加所需输入功增加,对应的质量流幅值增加,造成柔性波纹管中的损失增加,因此柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管所需输入功之差增加。
若在实际应用中不得不使用柔性波纹管,基于前人的研究,柔性波纹管虽具有更多的声功损失,但其具备强化传热的能力[12-15]。可以通过在波纹管处进行冷却使工质在进入冷指时温度降低的方法来优化热端换热器,从而使热端换热器内的压降和声功损失减小,以此达到提升制冷机性能的效果。
本文对柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管进行三维数值模拟研究,并在不同工况下进行实验验证,对比两种连接管下制冷机的性能,得到如下结论:
1)模拟结果显示柔性波纹管在波纹处会出现混合流,速度边界层较厚,近壁处速度梯度较为明显,产生更多的阻力损失。
2)相比于刚性光滑管,在相同的入口参数下,柔性波纹管出口质量流幅值与压力波幅值更低,出口声功更低,与刚性光滑管出口声功相差最小1.6 W,最大6.2 W,因此柔性波纹管声功损失更多。
3)实验结果显示在同一制冷温度获得同冷量时,柔性波纹管所需输入功大于刚性光滑管,同时随着制冷量的增加,柔性波纹管对制冷机的影响逐渐增强,柔性波纹管与刚性光滑管所需输入功之差逐渐增加。在37.5 K获取0.5 W冷量时,输入功最小相差7 W,在37.5 K获取3.0 W冷量时,输入功最大相差20 W。
4)在37.5 K获取1.5 W冷量时两种连接管均存在一个最佳频率45 Hz使制冷机的性能最佳,柔性波纹管rCOP为6.26%,刚性光滑管rCOP为6.76%。
该研究对后续采用柔性波纹管连管以在制冷机运行中调整压缩机与冷指相对位置的应用具有参考意义,并对日后使用柔性波纹管连管的脉管制冷机的优化提供了一个研究方向。
