Based on the requirements of space-based telemetry transmission of launch vehicle and the strict limitations of weight, space, and energy consumption on the vehicle platform, this paper designs a miniaturized, lightweight, highly integrated and low-power consumption S-band tile type active phased-array antenna system. The system includes antenna array module, T-module array module, power divider network module. beam controller and power unit module. The article elaborates on the working principle and integrated architecture of the system, and designs several key circuits such as antenna array, T-module, highly reliable power supply unit and beam controller, etc, according to the requirements. The developed antenna system prototype has been tested in a darkroom, and its major indexes such as beam width, axial ratio, ERIP within the beam scanning range of ±60°in the azimuth and elevation plane all meet the design requirements. Compared with brick phased array antenna systems with similar functions in the same frequency band currently on the market, its volume is reduced by 45%, weight is reduced by 25%, and the energy consumption is reduced by 15%, which is more in line with the phased array antenna from the arrow-carrying size, weight, and economic application demand. It also provides guidance for the development of phased array antenna in related fields.

基于运载火箭天基遥测传输的需求和箭载平台对重量、空间及能量消耗的严格限制,本文设计了一种小型轻量化、高集成、低能耗的S波段瓦式有源相控阵天线系统。该系统包括天线阵列模块、发射组件阵列模块、功分网络模块、波束控制器及电源单元模块。本文阐述了该系统的工作原理、组成架构,并根据要求设计了天线阵列、发射组件、高可靠电源单元以及波束控制器等几种关键电路。经暗室实测,本系统中所研制的天线系统样机其波束宽度、轴比、方位面俯仰面±60°波束扫描范围内的ERIP等指标达到设计要求,与目前市场上同频段功能相似的砖式相控阵天线系统相比,其体积减小45%,重量缩减25%,能耗降低15%,更贴合箭载相控阵天线从体积、重量、经济上的应用需求,同时也为相关领域的相控阵天线系统研制提供了指导。

基于运载火箭天基遥测传输的需求和箭载平台对重量、空间及能量消耗的严格限制,本文设计了一种小型轻量化、高集成、低能耗的S波段瓦式有源相控阵天线系统。该系统包括天线阵列模块、发射组件阵列模块、功分网络模块、波束控制器及电源单元模块。本文阐述了该系统的工作原理、组成架构,并根据要求设计了天线阵列、发射组件、高可靠电源单元以及波束控制器等几种关键电路。经暗室实测,本系统中所研制的天线系统样机其波束宽度、轴比、方位面俯仰面±60°波束扫描范围内的ERIP等指标达到设计要求,与目前市场上同频段功能相似的砖式相控阵天线系统相比,其体积减小45%,重量缩减25%,能耗降低15%,更贴合箭载相控阵天线从体积、重量、经济上的应用需求,同时也为相关领域的相控阵天线系统研制提供了指导。

Based on the requirements of space-based telemetry transmission of launch vehicle and the strict limitations of weight, space, and energy consumption on the vehicle platform, this paper designs a miniaturized, lightweight, highly integrated and low-power consumption S-band tile type active phased-array antenna system. The system includes antenna array module, T-module array module, power divider network module. beam controller and power unit module. The article elaborates on the working principle and integrated architecture of the system, and designs several key circuits such as antenna array, T-module, highly reliable power supply unit and beam controller, etc, according to the requirements. The developed antenna system prototype has been tested in a darkroom, and its major indexes such as beam width, axial ratio, ERIP within the beam scanning range of ±60°in the azimuth and elevation plane all meet the design requirements. Compared with brick phased array antenna systems with similar functions in the same frequency band currently on the market, its volume is reduced by 45%, weight is reduced by 25%, and the energy consumption is reduced by 15%, which is more in line with the phased array antenna from the arrow-carrying size, weight, and economic application demand. It also provides guidance for the development of phased array antenna in related fields.

航天技术的蓬勃发展,对运载火箭的测量、测控、通信等技术提出了更高的要求,依靠传统的地基测控技术已无法满足测控覆盖率和数据传输实时性等要求。我国中继卫星系统的建成与使用,为运载火箭采用天基测控技术奠定了坚实的基础,使其具备了全程测控的条件,利用中继星进行火箭测控已成为今后国内外航天测控领域研究与发展的重要方向[16]
有源相控阵天线以其波束的快速扫描能力、波束形状的快速变化能力、空间定向及空间大功率合成能力、低副瓣高可靠等特点在各通信领域得到青睐并被广泛应用,也成为运载火箭天基测控系统的重要组成部分[711]。随着我国航天发射任务的急剧增加,尤其是商业航天活动的迅猛发展,低成本高可靠的箭载相控阵天线发展需求潜力巨大。目前,我国中继卫星系统为运载火箭天基测控提供S频段和Ka频段两种返向链路。Ka频段数据传输速率高,但天线波束相对较窄,Ka频段的移相器、放大器等微波器件也更为昂贵。我国新一代中继卫星系统正在发展S频段相控阵多址(SMA)技术,以满足日益增长的利用中继卫星进行测控数传的需要[1216]。美国中继卫星系统配置运载火箭天基测控的传输链路也主要集中在S频段。综上分析,S频段相控阵天线有着广阔的市场化应用前景。
除了满足必须的波束扫描范围、波束宽度、发射功率以实现与中继星进行遥测数据传输之外,箭载相控阵天线在实际应用中还会面临一系列技术难点:搭载平台对重量、空间及能量消耗的严格限制,要求天线设计必须轻量化、小型化、低功耗,相控阵天线固定在火箭的外壁,飞行过程中的气动性及温度的骤变都迫使产品必须保持稳定性及可靠性。此外,模块化设计、低成本设计、故障快速诊断设计等等,这些既是技术挑战也是未来相控阵天线的技术发展趋势。
本文所述的研究设计了一种箭载S波段有源相控阵天线系统,它接收来自中继测控终端的射频激励信号和波束角度控制信息,将角度控制信息实时解算形成相应的波控码,使相控阵天线的波束主瓣始终指向中继星[17],通过天线单元、发射组件等关键电路的设计优化,使其在方位面和俯仰面这两个面的±60°扫描范围内的ERIP(等效全向辐射功率)和波束宽度达到与中继星稳定可靠通信的要求,同时实现设备小型轻量化、低功耗低成本、故障单元快速定位的设计目标。
箭载相控阵天线与中继星的遥测数据传输为单向发射链路。为了减少馈电网络的损耗,同时使移相器等元器件处于低功率工作状态,本设计采用了功率分布式合成技术,一方面可以灵活增加总的发射功率,另一方面多个中小功率放大器并联,单个器件的失效不会影响产品的整体性能,提高了发射系统的可靠性。
相控阵天线系统由四大模块组成,分别是天线阵列模块、发射组件阵列模块、功分网络模块、波束控制器及电源单元模块,其组成框图如图1所示。电源单元将火箭上电池提供的电压处理后转换为相控阵天线需要的电压。波束控制器接收中继测控终端发来的角度控制信息,完成相控阵天线单元的相位计算,形成波控码传输给发射组件。功分网络将中继测控终端提供的射频信号按需求分配给各个发射组件。发射组件按波控码执行射频信号的幅相控制,并将功率放大后的射频信号传输给天线单元,由天线单元辐射出去。根据方位面±60°,俯仰面30°~150°扫描范围内需满足有效覆盖性的要求,本相控阵天线采用了6×6阵列形式,共36个辐射单元。
图2所示,结构布局上采用瓦式架构[18]的分层模块化设计,上面第一层为背靠背形式的天线阵列模块和发射组件阵列模块。第二层是功分网络模块,采用Wilkinson微带结构形式实现36路等幅同相信号输出。第三层包含波束控制器和电源单元模块。各层之间的射频和低频信号均通过板间插座进行垂直互联[19]传输。瓦式架构是未来发展的重要方向,相比砖式结构能大幅度降低产品的厚度,减小体积和重量。
相控阵天线单元是采用中央馈点设计的单层微带贴片天线,辐射层结构简单,易于制造,其外形原理图如图3所示。该天线选用厚度为0.79 mm、介电常数为2.55、铜厚为0.5 oz的Taconic单面芯板,平面尺寸为45 mm×45 mm,具有低剖面易共形、小型化轻量化、成本低廉的特点。图4为方向图仿真结果,其中心频率处的法向增益为4.5 dB,满足组阵要求。
天线阵列采用了等间距平面设计方案,这种布阵可以使得天线之间的占用空间最优化,从而在有限的空间内安装更多的天线数量,增大阵列的增益。单元等距分布的平面阵列如图5所示。
X轴方向的间距为dx,相邻单元之间的相差为ϕxX方向的单元数为MY轴方向的间距为dy,相邻单元之间的相差为ϕyY轴方向的单元数为N。显然,假定扫描采用平面相位面时,原点的相位为零,则X轴方向第m单元的相位为xY轴方向第n个单元的相位为y。如果单元坐标为(mdx,ndy),则它的相位为x+y。为求得波瓣,先求参考单元的程差。
在等距面阵的基础上,通过坐标变换,将阵列的各个单元空间坐标分别表示出来。
令其每个有源单元所辐射的阵波瓣为f(αx,αy),并应用叠加原理求出阵列的波瓣为:
在满足系统增益和天线波束扫描范围的前提下,本系统采用了6×6阵列形式,如图6所示。从图7天线阵列仿真结果看,在工作带宽内增益大于14.5 dB,能够满足系统的中继星测控要求。
本系统中,天线单元采用方形微带贴片技术,具有低剖面轻量化、易于加工安装的优点。同时,天线单元的馈点设计在微带印制板的中央,印制板可以任意角度旋转,4个同样结构的天线单元围成一周,固定在金属结构表面,如图8所示,可以显著提升天线的轴比指标。该旋转排列布局的轴比仿真曲线见图9,可以看到,中心处轴向轴比仿真值为0.027 dB,±22.5°角度范围内曲线平滑且小于2 dB,与未旋转布局下轴向轴比的仿真值3.75 dB相比较,圆极化性能得到大幅提升。以上仿真分析证明在满足系统增益、扫描范围、轴比指标等条件下,采用6×6旋转等间距阵列形式,整体尺寸最小,满足箭载天线小型化轻量化的设计要求。
发射组件是有源相控阵天线的核心部件,其电性能、体积、重量直接关系整个系统的指标。本系统中发射组件包含数字处理和射频处理两部分,这两部分电路分别采用系统级封装SIP技术高度集成,其原理框图见图10所示,上方是射频电路,下方是数字电路。数字控制电路接收波控器传来的包含幅相控制、开关控制等代码的串行数据流,然后进行串并转换,为发射组件提供正确的逻辑控制信号;射频处理电路对S频段信号进行幅相控制,信号放大,功率检测,滤波后输出给天线。
本设计中每一个发射组件都具备独立开断功能,控制信号通过对各级功率放大器的供电电路进行电源管理来实现通断,在发射组件关断时功率放大器没有能量消耗,区别于一般电路在射频链路中串联开关的设计,降低了能量消耗。耦合信号的检波电压随火箭其他遥测数据一起实时反馈给地面控制中心,作为每一个发射组件是否正常工作的判据。图11是关闭四个角落发射组件时地面控制中心显示的发射组件阵列工作状态截图,指示灯绿色表示发射功率正常,红色则表示发射组件关闭或者出现了故障,解决了箭上单机的快速测试和故障定位问题。
发射组件阵列和天线阵列采用背靠背一体化结构设计,一侧安装天线单元,另一侧结构分割出36个独立小腔体安装发射组件模块,每个腔体尺寸为43 mm×43 mm×8 mm,发射组件间彼此隔离,如图12所示。每个发射组件通过一个板间垂直插座实现独立的供电数据接口,方便调试和拆卸。一个发射组件背面安装一个天线辐射单元,两者之间选用嵌在结构体内的射频绝缘子来实现信号的高性能高可靠的垂直互联,应用HFSS软件对绝缘子在工作频段内的传输性能进行了仿真,图13为建立的仿真模型和优化结果[20],满足设计要求。
本设计中发射组件模块具有独立的通道,可以单独自动化标校测试,降低人工成本;在满足信号放大、幅相控制等基本功能的基础上,通过电源管理实现单独开关通断的功能使得地面联试时可以根据所需辐射功率的大小自由选择发射组件的个数,减少能耗的同时降低产品的温升,提高产品的可靠性;反馈的检波信号能实时检测整个发射组件阵列的工作状态,尤其是火箭飞行状态时能对故障通道进行快速判断和定位,末级低通滤波器解决了高功率电磁干扰的问题,SIP技术的应用大大减小了产品的体积和重量,因此本发射组件具有高集成、低能耗的特点。
电源单元为相控阵天线内各有源电路提供工作电压,若出现故障将会导致整个产品加电失败,故设计重点在于可靠性。电源单元安装在相控阵天线的第三层,其原理图见图14所示,电路设计上采取了二极管防负压保护,TVS抗瞬态电压冲击,钽电容抗外供电源瞬态跌落,EMI滤波器防浪涌,双向抑制电源母线上的干扰等措施,保证了其工作状态的可靠性和稳定性。
电路里EMI滤波器为串联结构,其内部核心器件为一个横截面较大的线绕电感,电路里的四个钽电容,两个二极管都是体积较大的立式插装焊接器件,总体抗振性较弱。相控阵天线悬挂在火箭外壁的支架上,振动量级较大。为增加产品的可靠性,本设计对电源板采取了增加减振垫、将电源板夹在两个减振垫之间不与壳体硬接触的抗振措施。图15是通过电源板上粘接传感器实测的减振措施前后的振动响应曲线,图中绿色的“目标谱(f)”为输入的振动激励曲线,蓝色的“输入3(f)”为电源板上测试点响应曲线,对比可见,电源板上的响应量级由减振前的25.92 g降到了减振后的9.55 g,和输入量级几乎一致。
波束控制器作为相控阵天线的关键电路之一,其快速响应能力直接影响相控阵天线电扫描特性的发挥,关系到火箭与中继星之间的快速捕获和跟踪。本系统中波束控制器安装在相控阵天线的第三层,通过外部接口接收箭载中继测控终端发送过来的天线波束角度控制信息,通过坐标换算,快速准确地形成相位控制码传送给发射组件,同时根据发射组件反馈的检波电压的大小形成幅度控制码传送给发射组件。此外还具有检测和上报自身及发射组件工作状态信息,利用flash存储波控修正码支持算法调用的功能。波束控制器主要由FPGA、DSP、晶振及接口电路等组成,其对常规波束控制算法进行了分解和优化,提高了基于FPGA的移向码快速计算,具有集成度高、数据吞吐量大、运算速度快的特点,波束转换时间小于0.5 ms。波束控制器原理框图见图16
基于以上设计方案研制的S波段相控阵天线体积为280 mm×280 mm×35 mm,质量为4.5 kg,其驻波实测值如图17,中心频点驻波比小于1.3,整个工作带宽内驻波比最大值为1.6,略高于仿真的驻波最大值1.4,能满足使用要求。样机在暗室进行了性能测试,见图18,工作频段内36个发射组件辐射功率分别标校,一致性在0.3 dB范围内,保证了相控阵天线EIRP的稳定度和旁瓣的抑制量。天线带外谐杂波抑制50 dBc,轴向轴比通过测量的主极化和交叉极化电平值计算后小于2.9 dB,波束宽度大于30°。在方位面(α角平面)±60°、俯仰面(β角平面)30°~150°进行两维扫描的方向图见图19,通过标校天线测试的轴向(0,90)角度EIRP为29.7 dBW,波束两侧(60,30)、(300,150)角度EIRP超过26.9 dBW。由图7天线阵列仿真图可知,天线阵列增益介于15.2 dB~17.7 dB之间,加上后端发射组件阵列的总输出功率12 dBW,此相控阵天线的ERIP实测值与仿真设计值吻合,达到了设计要求。
本相控阵天线系统具有天线阵列小型轻量化设计,发射组件高集成低能耗设计,电源单元可靠性设计,波束控制器快速响应设计等关键技术,样机实测指标与仿真结果吻合,保证与中继星稳定可靠通信的基础上实现了产品的小型化低功耗;结构上采用瓦片式模块化设计,低频和射频信号均通过垂直对插插座替代电缆组件进行传输,降低了整机的厚度,减小了体积和重量,相较于市场上的同频段功能相似的砖式相控阵天线,其体积减小了45%,重量缩减了25%,能耗降低15%;各模块功能明确且相对独立,便于快速组装批量生产。另外通过模块重组可使设备满足不同的应用需求,易于升级优化,降低了制造成本,从体积,重量,经济等方面更加贴合箭载相控阵天线的应用需求,同时对相关领域的相控阵天线系统研制也具有指导意义。
