This paper introduces the composition, major function, and technical specifications of a high integrated eight-channel Ka-band low noise down-converter module. An eight-channel Ka-band low noise down-converter module is designed, and the imple-mentation method of the circuit is proposed. The isolation, amplitude imbalance, noise figure (NF), and combined frequency interfer-ence are also analyzed. The measured results of the module are as follows: NF is lower than 2.3 dB, the converter gain is more than 35 dB, and the amplitude imbalance is lower than ±0.5 dB. The isolation of multi-channel is more than 60 dB. The module has the advantages of a small size, high output power, high reliability, and good consistency. It has been successfully applied in TT&C.

本文介绍一种高集成八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件的功能和组成,研制了八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件,提出了组件的工作原理和电路实现方式,对组件的隔离度、通道一致性、噪声系数、组合频率进行了分析。该变频组件测试结果为:噪声系数≤2.3 dB,变频增益≥35 dB,通道间幅度一致性≤±0.5 dB,多通道间隔离度≥60 dB,具有体积小、可靠性高、一致性好等优点,在某Ka频段测控系统的多波束引导接收中得到成功应用。

本文介绍一种高集成八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件的功能和组成,研制了八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件,提出了组件的工作原理和电路实现方式,对组件的隔离度、通道一致性、噪声系数、组合频率进行了分析。该变频组件测试结果为:噪声系数≤2.3 dB,变频增益≥35 dB,通道间幅度一致性≤±0.5 dB,多通道间隔离度≥60 dB,具有体积小、可靠性高、一致性好等优点,在某Ka频段测控系统的多波束引导接收中得到成功应用。

This paper introduces the composition, major function, and technical specifications of a high integrated eight-channel Ka-band low noise down-converter module. An eight-channel Ka-band low noise down-converter module is designed, and the imple-mentation method of the circuit is proposed. The isolation, amplitude imbalance, noise figure (NF), and combined frequency interfer-ence are also analyzed. The measured results of the module are as follows: NF is lower than 2.3 dB, the converter gain is more than 35 dB, and the amplitude imbalance is lower than ±0.5 dB. The isolation of multi-channel is more than 60 dB. The module has the advantages of a small size, high output power, high reliability, and good consistency. It has been successfully applied in TT&C.

测控通信系统在各类飞行器试验和应用系统中有着广泛的应用,被要求有较高的抗干扰性和电子对抗能力。文献[1]中的Ka频段测控通信系统具有频带宽、波束窄、空间选择性好、抗干扰能力等特点,相对传统S频段测控,Ka频段测控在天线口径相同条件下,可提高信道的信噪比、系统ERIP(有效各向辐射功率)值、数传速率及系统抗干扰能力。文献[2,3]中的Ka频段相对较窄波束的特性使得捕获目标比较困难,因此需要优化Ka频段地面测控系统角引导和角捕获技术,采用偏馈多波束引导是对高动态飞行器角度捕获跟踪的引导方式之一。
Ka频段低噪下变频组件是Ka频段偏馈多波束角引导和角捕获系统中的重要组成部分,完成多个波束Ka频段射频信号的低噪声放大、变频、滤波等功能,其性能指标直接影响系统的跟踪能力和角捕获能力。为了适应测控系统高精度测距测速的需求,Ka频段低噪下变频组件需要具备噪声系数小、增益高、通道增益一致性好、杂散低等特点。针对以上系统需求,本文介绍了一种八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件,将Ka频段接收信号经过低噪声放大器、滤波器、混频器等一次变频为L频段,采用合理的电路设计,利用微组装工艺和电装工艺相结合,实现了一种高集成度、高可靠性、小型化的八通道低噪下变频组件,解决了放置于馈源筒内的体积要求和散热问题。该组件在Ka频段测控接收系统中得到成功应用,也可应用于其它雷达、通信及测控等系统中。
文献[413]在微波毫米波段变频组件或收发组件电路形式上,因用途不同会稍有不同,但在电路设计上,利用微组装工艺技术、采用单片微波集成电路(MMIC),向高集成、高可靠、小型化方向发展。文献[4]设计了一种Ku波段12通道下变频组件,通道间隔离度大于47 dB,噪声系数小于5 dB;文献[5]设计了一种Ka频段下变频组件仿真设计,变频组件的噪声系数为7.2 dB,杂散抑制在70 dBc以下;文献[6]研制一款小型化K频段五通道接收组件,通道增益为40 dB,镜频抑制大于40 dB,通道间隔离度大于40 dB。文献[7]设计了W波段收发组件,噪声系数小于6.5 dB,接收增益为30.2 dB~33 dB。
本文研制的Ka频段下变频组件,测试结果为:噪声系数≤2.3 dB,变频增益≥35 dB,通道间幅度一致性 ≤±0.5 dB,多通道间隔离度≥60 dB,杂散抑制≥70 dBc。
八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件由八路射频接收信道和本振功分网络组成,每路射频信道均由低噪声放大器、谐波混频器、滤波器、中频放大器等组成。对偏馈多波束天线接收到的Ka频段信号进行放大、滤波、混频、输出L频段中频信号后送往成像基带处理。本振功分网络主要功能是将输入的本振信号功分为8路信号后分别给8路变频信道提供本振信号。每路接收信号与本振信号经过混频后,输出中频信号,实现下变频功能。图1为八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件原理框图。
八通道Ka频段接收组件正面由8路Ka频段下变频信道和本振功分网络组成,采用小型化、一体化设计思路。为了保证设计指标和降低成本,在进行Ka频段低噪下变频组件设计时,采用多层微波PCB板、微组装工艺和电装工艺相结合。组件正面为微组装工艺,为了小型化设计,采用垂直互连的结构进行建模仿真及优化设计,降低芯片的布局及走线难度,减小损耗;组件背面由中频电路和电源板组成,电源板为Ka频段接收组件中有源器件供电,中频电路经过滤波放大后直接输出。
八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件作为测控接收链路的前端,其噪声温度的大小影响测控系统G/T值指标。当接收链路的等效噪声系数低时,可以降低接收分系统对系统噪声温度的贡献,从而改善系统G/T(增益/噪声温度)值。
多级级联系统中,整个系统的噪声系数表示为[14]
式中,NF表示系统的总噪声系数,NF1表示第一级噪声系数,NFn表示第n级噪声系数。G1表示第一级增益,Gn-1表示第n-1级增益。在级联系统中,第一级噪声系数对整个系统的噪声系数影响大。
从组件原理框图可见,影响噪声系数的通常是前三级,低噪声放大器、带通滤波器、低噪声放大器,带通滤波器是插损,其噪声系数就是插损。因此,在电路设计中,为了提高组件的噪声系数,第一级放大器选择噪声系数低、增益高的芯片,第二级放大器选用P1dB压缩点高的芯片。
本设计第一级放大器芯片选用0.15 μm栅长的PHEMT(砷化镓赝配高电子迁移率晶体管)芯片,增益为26 dB,噪声系数为1.7 dB。
第二级低噪声放大器选用GaAs PHEMT晶体管低噪声放大器芯片,工作频段覆盖26 GHz~34 GHz,增益为16 dB,P1dB(1 dB压缩点)为15 dB。经计算:该组件总噪声系数NF≈2.0 dB。
八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件采用偶次谐波混频的变频方式,可以有效降低对本振信号的频率,从而降低本振的设计难度。
混频器组合频率干扰的计算公式为[15]

其中,fmn为组合频率成分,包括中频信号和组合干扰信号,fs为信号频率,fp为本振频率,mn为谐波次数,mn=0,±1,±2××。
谐波混频器后小信号电流:

其中,g为电导,Vs为小信号电压,In(αVp)为n阶第一类贝塞尔函数,Vp为本振信号电压,ωs为小信号角频率,ωp为本振信号角频率,t为时间。
从式(3)中,混频电流中将出现2ωp+ωs,4ωp+ωs等谐波分量。由式(2)可得,混频电流谐波混频中,只存在m为偶数的项,没有基波的混频项,也没有三次谐波混频项。谐波混频成分比单管混频少了一半。
谐波混频器频率分量中的奇次本振谐波混频存在于二极管的内部,输出频率中干扰成分少,混频器电路的杂波信号少,所以谐波混频器具有稳定性较高、噪声系数较低与动态范围较大等优点。
八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件中射频输入频率为26 GHz~28.5 GHz,本振输入频率为12.1 GHz~12.35 GHz,经ADS软件仿真计算,没有10次以内的组合频率干扰落入带内。
在组件的设计中,采用GaAs PHEMT晶体管谐波混频器芯片HMC264,LO至RF隔离度高,无需加滤波电路。LO的输入功率要求为-4 dBm,这样对组件功分网络的本振(LO)输入功率要求低,减少了通道间干扰。由于HMC264芯片组合频率少,且均落入带外,可通过加带通滤波器滤除带外干扰。
Ka频段八通道低噪下变频组件放置于馈源筒内,由于多波束天线通道数多,对组件体积和散热提出了严苛要求。相邻信道间隔比较小,射频信号在传输中可能会发生串扰。
为了防止相邻通道间信号干扰,提高通道之间的隔离度,在电路和结构上进行了方案优化设计。电路设计上,在各个有源器件的电源上串联自谐振频率为工作频率的电感,以及并联自谐振频率为工作频率的到地电容,防止工作频率处的信号相互串扰。同时各通道的电源供电电路加滤波电路设计,降低电源信号在各通道间相互串扰。结构设计上,在相邻通道间加隔筋进行信号屏蔽。为了减少空间串扰,在盒体上面腔设计两层盖板,内盖板采用螺钉分别固定在隔腔上,隔断空间的串扰,外盖板激光封焊。
通道间幅度一致性指标对系统测距、测角精度有很大的影响。影响信道之间的幅度一致性的因素一般有:器件S参数一致性、装配工艺和调试状态。在器件的选型上,Ka频段器件选用同批次的芯片,尽可能地减小器件的寄生参数。在电路设计中,加入温补衰减器,PCB板布板、走线长短上保持一致性,在器件及芯片的装配时,组件盒体上腔为毫米波频段,采用微组装工艺。通过自动化装配保证芯片金丝键合高度、焊盘距离、金丝间距的控制来保证装配的一致性。
为满足八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件通用化、小型化设计和降低成本的需求,在电路、结构及工艺上进行了仿真及优化。
电路实现:根据电路特点选择不同介电常数的基板,Ka频段低噪声放大器和谐波混频器部分电路采用电磁辐射损耗小的RO-5880微波基板;为了减小电路体积,Ka频段带通滤波器采用相对介电常数为9.7,介质基板厚度为0.254 mm的AL2O3薄膜滤波器,中频电路部分采用FR4多层板。图2为八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件实物图。
结构实现:基于多个组件放置于馈源筒内,既要解决小型化设计,又要解决散热问题。在结构设计上,对组件进行了热仿真及优化设计,充分考虑散热及三防设计,对热源均匀分布,并对导热路径进行优化,提高变频组件的可靠性。在工作环境为60 ℃的情况下,对组件进行热仿真迭代优化,组件最高温度点的温升小于8 ℃。图3为八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件热仿真图。
工艺实现:高频部分为微组装工艺,盖板采用激光封焊,实现气密;中频和电源部分采用电装工艺,刷三防漆。
表1为八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件通道间隔离度测试表,图4~图6为八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件变频增益、噪声系数和杂散测试曲线图。
本文介绍了一款高集成度八通道Ka频段低噪下变频组件,结合低成本微波多层板,低损耗射频垂直互连,实现多通道、高度集成、小型化设计,具有噪声系数小、增益高、通道间隔离度高、通道增益一致性好、杂散低等特点。该性能指标满足Ka频段测控接收系统要求,并成功应用于测控系统中。
