The preparation of nickel, cobalt and manganese ternary precursors by coprecipitation method was studied. The effects of ammonia concentration, system pH, reaction time and reaction temperature on the properties of the precursors prepared by coprecipitation method were investigated. The results show that under the optimal conditions of ammonia concentration of 1 mol/L, pH=12, reaction temperature of 55 ℃ and reaction temperature of 28 h, the prepared precursor products have good particle size distribution, uniform spheroid shape and dense crystallization. The first discharge capacity of the cathode material after calcination is 169.14 mAh/g and the first efficiency is 88.32% under the charge and discharge system of 2.8~4.4 V and 0.2 C.

研究了采用共沉淀法制备镍钴锰三元前驱体,考察了氨水浓度、体系pH、反应时间、反应温度对所制备前驱体性能指标的影响。结果表明:在氨水浓度1 mol/L,体系pH=12、反应温度55 ℃、反应温度28 h最佳试验条件下,所制备前驱体产品粒度分布良好,呈均匀的类球形,结晶致密;混锂煅烧后的正极材料在2.8~4.4 V、0.2 C充放电制度下首次放电容量为169.14 mAh/g,首次效率为88.32%。

The preparation of nickel, cobalt and manganese ternary precursors by coprecipitation method was studied. The effects of ammonia concentration, system pH, reaction time and reaction temperature on the properties of the precursors prepared by coprecipitation method were investigated. The results show that under the optimal conditions of ammonia concentration of 1 mol/L, pH=12, reaction temperature of 55 ℃ and reaction temperature of 28 h, the prepared precursor products have good particle size distribution, uniform spheroid shape and dense crystallization. The first discharge capacity of the cathode material after calcination is 169.14 mAh/g and the first efficiency is 88.32% under the charge and discharge system of 2.8~4.4 V and 0.2 C.

锂离子电池作为一种绿色环保的新能源储能电池,因具有高电压、高容量、循环寿命长、安全性能好、无记忆效应等显著特点[1-4]被广泛应用于新能源汽车市场。随着对新能源汽车续航及安全性能要求不断提高,开发高性能电池材料逐渐成为了电池行业关注的重点。
作为三元正极材料技术核心,高性能三元前驱体的制备对提高正极材料性能至关重要。高性能三元前驱体通常具有粒径分布窄、振实密度高等特征,粒径分布窄可缩短制备正极材料的煅烧时间,晶体成长也较快;而振实密度高可使正极材料体积容量增大,电池体积变小。目前,制备前驱体的主流工艺为共沉淀法,该法的关键在于控制反应过程中各工艺参数的相对稳定[5-6],以便形成沉淀均匀、高振实密度的球形前驱体,从而确保正极材料性能。
为了解共沉淀过程中前驱体颗粒生长情况,通过单因素条件试验重点研究前驱体合成工艺路线中氨水浓度、pH、反应温度、反应时间对产品物理性能的影响[7-12],分析了反应体系中前驱体粒度分布、形貌特征及振实密度变化规律,优化了共沉淀合成工艺参数,以期为改善三元前驱体结构性能提供技术参考。
主要试剂:硫酸钴、硫酸镍、硫酸锰,国药集团化学试剂有限公司,分析纯;氢氧化钠、氨水,西陇科技股份有限公司,分析纯;去离子水,自制;氮气,99.99%,宜昌蓝天气体有限公司。
主要仪器设备:5 L反应釜,自制;蠕动泵,LLS PLUS-B146型,卡川尔流体科技(上海)有限公司;悬臂式电动搅拌器,LC-OES-200SH型,上海力辰邦西仪器科技有限公司;酸碱度氧化还原在线分析仪,U-PH6-LCCN3型,杭州联测自动化技术有限公司;电热鼓风干燥箱,101型,北京永光明医疗仪器有限公司;电子分析天平,HZ502A型,慈溪红钻衡器设备有限公司;实验室超纯水机,CS-08型,苏州市大洋净水设备厂。
共沉淀法合成三元前驱体反应由配合和沉淀2步反应组成,反应方程式为
$\frac{1}{3}$Ni2++$\frac{1}{3}$Co2++$\frac{1}{3}$Mn2++nNH3·H2O→[N${i}_{\frac{1}{3}}$C${o}_{\frac{1}{3}}$M${n}_{\frac{1}{3}}$(NH3)n]2++nH2O;

C${o}_{\frac{1}{3}}$M${n}_{\frac{1}{3}}$(OH)2+nH2O。
由于试验是基于化学式的反应过程,所得前驱体中元素物质的量比是由配比和反应过程中条件控制决定的,会有1∶1∶1、5∶2∶3、6∶2∶2、8∶1∶1等多种物质的量比,因此将NiSO4·7H2O、CoSO4·6H2O、MnSO4·H2O用去离子水配制成Ni、Co、Mn物质的量比6∶2∶2的2 mol/L硫酸盐溶液,配制4 mol/L NaOH溶液作为沉淀剂,氨水作为配合剂,反应釜中底液为适宜pH的氨水溶液。由于Co2+、Mn2+在碱性环境下极易被氧化,特别是Mn2+易氧化成羟基氧化锰,而羟基氧化锰又易分解成微细的二氧化锰,造成前驱体中金属组分的偏离或偏析。因此,反应釜应通入氮气保护避免与空气接触。通过蠕动泵加入盐溶液、NaOH溶液和氨水,在高速搅拌下合成三元前驱体。控制反应体系温度和pH进料,进料结束后陈化4 h,过滤、洗涤、烘干,得三元前驱体产品。利用激光力度分析仪测定其粒度分布,依据粉末产品振实密度测定通用方法(GB/T 21354—2008)[13]测定其振实密度。最后,按照锂金属物质的量比1.05∶1混锂焙烧,得正极材料,并测试其电化学性能。
控制共沉淀体系pH=11,在反应温度50 ℃、反应时间24 h条件下,氨水浓度对三元前驱体合成的影响试验结果如图12所示。可以看出,配合剂氨水用量会对所合成三元前躯体的形貌、粒径及振实密度有很大影响:不加入配合剂时,三元前驱体颗粒较为疏松,呈类球形,粒度分布较宽,振实密度很低,仅为0.65 g/cm3;前驱体粒度随氨水浓度升高而增大,粒度分布变窄,颗粒表面细小附着物减少,球形度和致密性逐渐变好,颗粒分散性好;氨水浓度升至1.0 mol/L时,D10为6.78 μm,D50为12.73 μm,D90为18.12 μm,振实密度增至2.01 g/cm3;继续升高氨水浓度,粒度呈缓慢增大趋势,振实密度保持相对稳定。这是由于随氨水浓度升高,溶液中游离态金属离子减少,共沉淀体系的饱和度相应降低,成核速率大大减缓,晶体成长速率则不断加快,使得所合成三元前驱体粒径也逐渐增大;同时,氨水浓度升高能促使微细沉淀离子在晶核表面沉淀,提高颗粒致密度与光滑度;但配合剂用量过多,前驱体中金属离子会被过多配合导致比例失调,造成浪费,且会增加后续废水处理难度。综合考虑,确定最佳氨水浓度为1.0 mol/L。
控制共沉淀体系氨水浓度1.0 mol/L,在反应温度50 ℃、反应时间24 h条件下,体系pH对三元前驱体合成的影响试验结果如图34所示。
图34看出:pH较低时,所合成三元前驱体颗粒为类球形团聚体,且团聚严重,颗粒粒径差别较大;pH升至12时,颗粒为较规整的类球形二次团聚体,粒度分布较窄,此时D10为6.24 μm,D50为11.82 μm,D90为19.89 μm,振实密度达2.04 g/cm3;随pH继续升高,颗粒间仍存在团聚现象,振实密度有所下降。这主要是因为pH较低时,金属离子配合速度较快,易形成大粒径前驱体,形貌难以控制;随pH升高,体系中氢氧化物饱和度增大,有利于晶核生长,并形成形貌良好的球形致密颗粒。综合考虑,确定最佳pH=12。
控制共沉淀体系氨水浓度1 mol/L,在体系pH=12、反应时间24 h条件下,反应温度对三元前驱体合成的影响试验结果如图56所示。
三元前驱体合成过程为轻微的放热反应,因此,体系温度过高会导致反应发生困难,体系温度过低反应速率相对较快,会导致生成的晶体较疏松。由图56看出,随反应温度升高,三元前驱体产品粒径不断增大,振实密度呈先升高后降低趋势,造成这种现象的原因是温度升高使得共沉淀反应体系分子动能增加,从而促进前驱体颗粒生长;但温度过高,锰的氢氧化物会优先生成锰的氧化物,直接影响前驱体产品性能;且体系pH也会随温度波动而发生变化,进而影响产品品质。因此,在试验过程中控制反应温度恒定相当关键。综合考虑,确定最佳反应温度为55 ℃,此时D10为6.79 μm,D50为12.66 μm,D90为19.97 μm,振实密度达2.06 g/cm3
控制共沉淀体系氨水浓度为1 mol/L,在体系pH=12、反应温度55 ℃条件下,反应时间对三元前驱体合成的影响试验结果如图78所示。
图78看出:所合成前驱体的粒度、振实密度和反应时间成正比,这是因为随反应时间延长,体系中盐与碱浓度增大,晶核不断长大,粒度分布也趋于良好,颗粒形貌向类球形或球形转变,结晶致密程度随之提高;继续延长反应时间,前驱体粒度仍保持增大趋势,振实密度呈小幅上升趋势,颗粒形貌变化不大,粒度分布反而有变宽趋势,对产品质量产生较大影响。综合考虑,确定最佳反应时间为28 h,此时D10为7.01 μm,D50为14.81 μm,D90为21.91 μm,前驱体振实密度达2.12 g/cm3
在氨水浓度1 mol/L、pH=12、反应温度55 ℃、反应温度28 h最佳条件下制备的三元前驱体的XRD图谱如图9所示。可以看出,产品特征衍射峰尖锐,强度较高,说明所合成的三元前驱体具有较好的层状结构。对三元前驱体进行化学多元素分析,结果见表1。可以看出Ni、Co、Mn总质量分数达62.35%,n(Ni):n(Co):n(Mn)≈6∶2∶2,杂质金属Al、Cu、Fe含量均较低,符合相关行业技术标准。所制备的三元前驱体的XRD图谱与其他文献[7,9]中Ni、Co、Mn物质的量比为6∶2∶2前驱体峰差异很小,而存在差异的原因可能是反应过程中被轻微氧化,从而导致产品中Ni、Co、Mn物质的量比不绝对为6∶2∶2。
将三元前驱体产品与锂源按物质的量比1.05∶1混合烧结,之后在2.8~4.4 V、0.2 C充放电制度下进行电化学性能测试,得首次充放电曲线,如图10所示。可以看出:首次放电容量为169.14 mAh/g,首次效率为88.32%,能满足电池产品需求。
采用共沉淀法制备三元前驱体工艺的影响因素较多,因此,要实现均匀的共沉淀获得合格的三元前驱体产品,必须严格控制体系各技术参数。在氨水浓度为1 mol/L、体系pH=12、反应温度55 ℃、反应温度28 h最佳条件下所制备产品的D10为7.01 μm,D50为14.81 μm,D90为21.91 μm,振实密度为2.12 g/cm3,粒度分布良好,产品呈均匀的类球形,结晶致密,杂质含量低,具有较好的层状结构。前驱体混锂煅烧后的正极材料在2.8~4.4 V、0.2 C充放电制度下首次放电容量为169.14 mAh/g,首次效率为88.32%,电化学性能良好。
