In order to develop a high efficiency, environmental protection, low energy consumption of heavy metal Cr (Ⅵ) adsorbent magnetic biochar (MBC) was obtained by co-precipitation reaction in a mixture of FeSO4·7H2O and FeCl3·6H2O with alkali modified biochar as the substrate. polyethyleneimine(PEI) was then used as an amination agent and glutaraldehyde was as a cross-linking agent to produce PEI-functionalized magnetic biochar composites(PEI/MBC) for Cr(Ⅵ) removal, PEI/MBC was characterized by SEM,XRD and FT-IR. The effects of solution pH, adsorbent dosage and competitive ions on the adsorption properties for Cr(Ⅵ) were investigated,the results show that the highest adsorption amount of 105.94 mg/g is achieved under the conditions of initial Cr(Ⅵ) concentration of 50 mg/L, an adsorbent dosage of 0.2 g/L, temperature of 30 ℃ and pH=2. The adsorption was affected by the changes of competitive anions and temperature, the quasi-second-order kinetic equation can well reflect the adsorption behavior of Cr(Ⅵ) on PEI/MBC, and the isothermal adsorption data is consistent with the Freundlich isothermal adsorption model, the adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) is a spontaneous endothermic process, with ΔG<0, ΔS=144.82 J/(mol·K) and ΔH=39.84 kJ/mol.

为了开发一种高效、环保、低能耗的重金属Cr(Ⅵ)吸附剂,研究了以碱改性生物质炭为基质,在FeSO4·7H2O和FeCl3·6H2O混合溶液中共沉淀反应赋磁制备磁性生物质炭(MBC),再以聚乙烯亚胺(PEI)为胺化试剂、戊二醛为交联剂,制备聚乙烯亚胺功能化磁性生物炭复合材料(PEI/MBC)并用于吸附溶液中的Cr(Ⅵ)。采用SEM、XRD、FT-IR对PEI/MBC进行了表征,考察了溶液pH、吸附剂投加量、竞争性离子浓度对PEI/MBC 吸附Cr(Ⅵ)性能的影响。结果表明:在溶液中Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L、吸附剂投加量0.2 g/L、温度30 ℃、pH=2条件下,Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量最高,为105.94 mg/g;竞争性阴离子浓度和温度均会影响吸附效果;PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附过程更符合准二级动力学模型和Freundlich等温吸附模型,吸附为自发的吸热过程,ΔG<0,ΔS=144.82 J/(mol·K),ΔH=39.84 kJ/mol。

In order to develop a high efficiency, environmental protection, low energy consumption of heavy metal Cr (Ⅵ) adsorbent magnetic biochar (MBC) was obtained by co-precipitation reaction in a mixture of FeSO4·7H2O and FeCl3·6H2O with alkali modified biochar as the substrate. polyethyleneimine(PEI) was then used as an amination agent and glutaraldehyde was as a cross-linking agent to produce PEI-functionalized magnetic biochar composites(PEI/MBC) for Cr(Ⅵ) removal, PEI/MBC was characterized by SEM,XRD and FT-IR. The effects of solution pH, adsorbent dosage and competitive ions on the adsorption properties for Cr(Ⅵ) were investigated,the results show that the highest adsorption amount of 105.94 mg/g is achieved under the conditions of initial Cr(Ⅵ) concentration of 50 mg/L, an adsorbent dosage of 0.2 g/L, temperature of 30 ℃ and pH=2. The adsorption was affected by the changes of competitive anions and temperature, the quasi-second-order kinetic equation can well reflect the adsorption behavior of Cr(Ⅵ) on PEI/MBC, and the isothermal adsorption data is consistent with the Freundlich isothermal adsorption model, the adsorption of Cr(Ⅵ) is a spontaneous endothermic process, with ΔG<0, ΔS=144.82 J/(mol·K) and ΔH=39.84 kJ/mol.

铬(Cr)离子在工业和制造业中应用广泛,但同时也存在环境污染风险。Cr在自然界中主要以Cr(Ⅵ)和Cr(Ⅲ)形式存在,其中Cr(Ⅵ)因具有较高的氧化性和流动性,毒性通常比Cr(Ⅲ)更大。Cr(Ⅵ)进入环境后不仅会对人类健康构成严重威胁,还可能对生态系统造成破坏[1-2]。吸附法因具有操作简便、成本低廉等优点,已成为一种有效的重金属污染修复方法[3-4]。由于该法的吸附过程可逆,通过解吸可使吸附剂再生,进一步减少二次污染[5]。在吸附法中,吸附剂的选择至关重要,因此开发绿色、环保的吸附剂对于该技术的可持续发展具有重要意义。
生物质炭作为一种环境友好型的吸附材料,能够有效去除水体和土壤中的重金属离子,减少环境污染,因此在重金属吸附领域越来越受到关注[6-7]。生物质炭具有吸附性良好、价格低廉、热稳定性优良、获取途径多样等优点,且可再生,能循环使用,符合绿色、环保、可持续的发展理念;但其对重金属离子的吸附能力有限,且在实际应用中难以回收。为了解决上述问题,研究人员提出将生物质炭赋磁后制得的磁性生物质炭(MBC)吸附剂的方法。该法是通过施加磁场,即可方便、快捷地实现吸附剂的分离,而无须依赖传统的离心或过滤操作[8]。为了进一步提高磁性吸附材料对重金属的吸附性能,研究人员还探索了通过引入带有大量氨基分子,如聚乙烯亚胺(PEI),对磁性生物质炭表面进行氨基改性,以增大其对重金属的吸附容量[9]。PEI作为一种线型大分子,其分子链上的大量氨基能与重金属形成稳定的配合物,从而显著提高吸附效率[10-11];但由于PEI具水溶性,将其直接用于吸附水中重金属离子会增加成本且不具有实用性。因此,为了提高吸附实用性和经济性,试验研究了以碱改性棉秆生物质炭为基质,通过共沉淀法赋磁后再进行PEI改性,制备PEI接枝磁性生物质炭吸附剂(PEI/MBC),并对PEI/MBC结构进行了表征,考察了溶液pH、吸附剂投加量、竞争性阴离子浓度等因素对其吸附性能的影响,分析了吸附动力学、吸附等温线,探究了PEI/MBC的吸附机制,验证了PEI/MBC的循环利用次数,以期为后续实际应用提供技术参考。
重铬酸钾(分析纯,99.8%)、聚乙烯亚胺(分子量约25 000 g/mol),购自阿拉丁生化科技有限公司;浓硫酸(分析纯,98%)、盐酸(优级纯,36%~38%),购自西陇化工有限公司;磷酸(分析纯,≥85%)、氢氧化钠(分析纯,≥96%),购自成都科隆化学品有限公司;六水合氯化铁(分析纯,≥99%),七水合硫酸亚铁(分析纯,≥99%),戊二醛(分析纯,25%),购自上海中泰化学试剂有限公司;棉花秸秆,取自于新疆省喀什市。
扫描电子显微镜(Sigma 300,德国蔡司公司);X射线衍射仪(Kratos Axis Ultra德国布鲁克公司);傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(TENSOR,日本岛津仪器有限公司);磁滞回线(Lake Shore7404);X射线光电子能谱(ESCALAB 250Xi,美国Thermo Scientific);双光束紫外可见分光光度计(UV-2550,上海元析仪器有限公司);真空干燥箱(DZF-6020,广东香山衡器集团股份有限公司)。
将剥皮后的棉秆粉碎过60目筛,干燥,之后放入管式炉,于600 ℃下热裂解制备生物质炭;将生物质炭加入到3 mol/L KOH溶液中浸泡12 h进行碱改性,之后用蒸馏水洗涤、烘干,得碱改性生物质炭;称取1 g碱改性生物质炭,浸泡在100 mL的FeSO4·7H2O和 FeCl3·6H2O(物质的量比为2∶3)混合溶液中,之后滴加NaOH溶液,调节溶液pH=11,在50 ℃下水浴搅拌反应2 h,洗涤后烘干,得磁性生物质炭(MBC)。
取1 gMBC加入50 mL 5%PEI甲醇溶液中,在室温下搅拌反应2 h后迅速转移至50 mL 2%戊二醛溶液中,继续搅拌5 h进行交联反应[4],过滤后用蒸馏水洗涤产物,于60 ℃下真空干燥12 h,得聚乙烯亚胺/磁性生物质炭复合材料(PEI/MBC)。
用重铬酸钾配制初始质量浓度为50 mg/L的含Cr(Ⅵ)模拟溶液,取50 mL置于锥形瓶中,调节溶液pH为2;加入一定量PEI/MBC吸附剂,将锥形瓶置于振荡器中,在30 ℃条件下进行多组振荡吸附试验,吸附540 min后采用二苯碳酰二肼分光光度法[12]测定Cr(Ⅵ)浓度,计算Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量。
PEI/MBC的XRD图谱如图1所示。可以看出:图谱中出现了Fe3O4的7个特征峰,分别对应Fe3O4的7个不同晶面[13],无其他杂质峰,表明生物炭赋磁成功,采用PEI改性MBC的过程中没有改变Fe3O4的原有晶相。
生物炭、Fe3O4、MBC和PEI/MBC的SEM照片如图2所示。
图2(a)看出,生物炭表面粗糙,呈多孔结构,可以为赋磁提供很多点位;由图2(b)看出:Fe3O4球形颗粒团聚现象明显;由图2(c)看出:在MBC中有很多微小的Fe3O4球形颗粒均匀分散在生物炭表面,团聚现象有所改善,表明生物质炭赋磁成功;由图2(d)看出:PEI对MBC改性后,PEI/MBC复合材料表面变得光滑,但孔隙结构仍较明显,较为蓬松,能为Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附提供丰富的吸附点位。
PEI/MBC吸附前、后的红外谱如图3所示。可以看出:3 423 cm-1处的峰是表面—OH峰,3 234 cm-1处的峰为N—H峰,说明—NH2成功接枝到MBC表面;618 cm-1处的吸收峰是Fe—O键振动吸收峰;此外,1 621 cm-1 处出现了C══N键伸缩振动峰[14],说明MBC和PEI分子之间通过戊二醛交联反应形成了C══N键,证明PEI改性成功并获得PEI/MBC。PEI/MBC吸附Cr(Ⅵ)后,PEI/MBC的红外光谱基本没有变化,表明吸附过程对吸附剂结构没有影响,说明PEI/MBC结构较稳定。
模拟溶液中Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L,吸附剂投加量0.2 g/L,温度30 ℃,吸附时间540 min,溶液pH对PEI/MBC吸附Cr(Ⅵ)的影响试验结果如图4所示。
图4看出:随溶液初始pH升高,PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量先增大后减小,在pH=2时,Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量最高,为105.94 mg/g,说明PEI/MBC在酸性条件下对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附效果优于中性和碱性条件。这是因为pH<6时,PEI/MBC表面的胺基会与溶液中游离H+发生质子化反应而带上正电荷,而Cr(Ⅵ)在酸性介质中主要以带负电荷的$\mathrm{HCrO}_{4}^{-}$离子存在[15],带正电荷的PEI/MBC可与带负电荷的$\mathrm{HCrO}_{4}^{-}$通过静电力的作用实现对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附;但当pH<2时,Cr(Ⅵ)在溶液中以H2CrO4中性分子形式存在,导致PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的静电吸引力减弱,对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附性能下降。因此,后续试验均在模拟溶液初始pH=2条件下进行。
模拟溶液中Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L,pH=2,温度30 ℃,吸附时间540 min,PEI/MBC投加量对吸附Cr(Ⅵ)的影响试验结果如图5所示。
图5看出:随PEI/MBC投加量增加,Cr(Ⅵ)去除率明显升高,而吸附量明显降低。这是因为随PEI/MBC投加量增加,活性吸附位点数目逐渐增多,使得Cr(Ⅵ)去除率升高,但PEI/MBC利用率降低,导致吸附量下降。综合考虑,确定PEI/MBC最佳投加量以1.0 g/L为宜。
Cr(Ⅵ)在酸性溶液中主要以$\mathrm{HCrO}_{4}^{-}$阴离子形式存在,当溶液中同时存在$\mathrm{SO}_{4}^{2-}$、Cl-和$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$等阴离子时,这些阴离子与$\mathrm{HCrO}_{4}^{-}$竞争PEI/MBC吸附位点,导致PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附量下降,因此考察这些竞争性离子对吸附影响很有必要。模拟溶液中Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L,pH=2,温度30 ℃,PEI/MBC投加量1.0 g/L,吸附时间540 min,溶液中竞争性离子$\mathrm{SO}_{4}^{2-}$、Cl-和$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$对PEI/MBC吸附Cr(Ⅵ)的影响试验结果如图6所示。
图6看出:随模拟溶液中竞争性离子$\mathrm{SO}_{4}^{2-}$、Cl-和$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$浓度增大,PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附量均逐渐减小,其中,$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$浓度对Cr(Ⅵ)吸附的影响最大,而Cl-浓度影响最小。这可能是因为PEI/MBC表面有很多活性点位,$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$带的电荷数目较多,Cl-带的电荷数目较少,带电荷数越多竞争效果越强,被吸附后占据的活性点位就越多,而且$\mathrm{PO}_{4}^{3-}$在水中会发生水解反应,导致溶液pH升高,不利于吸附反应进行[16]
在模拟溶液pH=2、温度30 ℃、PEI/MBC投加量1.0 g/L条件下,改变Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度,Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量随时间的变化曲线如图7所示。可以看出,在前30 min PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附速度较快,2 h后基本达到平衡。
分别采用准一级(式(1))、准二级(式(2))动力学模型[17]对试验数据进行拟合,拟合曲线如图8所示,拟合参数见表1

式中:qtt时刻的吸附量,mg/g;qe—平衡时的吸附量,mg/g;k1—准一级动力学速率常数,min-1;k2—准二级动力学速率常数,g/(mg·min);t—吸附时间,min。
表1看出:在不同Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度下,准二级动力学方程计算的理论平衡吸附量与试验值非常接近,且其拟合相关系数R2均明显大于准一级动力学模型,说明准二级动力学模型能更好地描述PEI/MCB对Cr(Ⅵ)吸附过程,吸附过程的速度受化学吸附控制[18-19]
在模拟溶液初始pH=2、温度30 ℃、PEI/MBC投加量1.0 g/L、吸附时间540 min条件下,调节Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度为20~70 mg/L,进行吸附等温线试验,结果如图9所示。可以看出,随Cr(Ⅵ)平衡浓度ρe增大,平衡吸附量qe增大。
分别采用Langmuir(式(3))和Freundlich(式(4))等温吸附模型[20]对试验数据进行拟合,拟合曲线如图9所示,拟合参数见表2

式中:ρe—平衡质量浓度,mg/L;qm—饱和吸附量,mg/g;kL—Langmuir平衡常数,L/mg;kF—Freundlich平衡常数,mg1-1/n·L1/n·g-1;1/n—吸附强度。
表2看出:Langmuir等温吸附模型的拟合相关系数R2=0.908,Freundlich等温吸附模型的拟合R2=0.992,后者明显优于前者,说明Freundlich等温吸附模型能更好地描述PEI/MCB对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附过程;kF=3.034、1/n=0.425,kF越大,表示材料吸附性能越好,1/n在0.1~0.5范围内,表示吸附性能良好,说明Cr(Ⅵ)易被PEI/MCB材料吸附,该材料的吸附性能较好,吸附较易进行。
模拟溶液初始pH=2,投加量为1.0 g/L,Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L,PEI/MBC吸附剂对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附量随温度的变化曲线如图10所示。可以看出,随温度升高,PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附量增大,表明升温有利于吸附进行。
根据式(5)~(7)[21]计算可得PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)吸附反应的热力学平衡常数kD,以及热力学常数吉布斯自由能(ΔG)、熵变(ΔS)和焓变(ΔH)。ln kD-1/T的关系曲线如图11所示,热力学参数计算结果见表3

式中:kD—热力学平衡常数,L/g;R—理想气体常数,8.314 J/(K·mol);T—热力学温度,K;ΔG—吉布斯自由能变,kJ/mol;ΔH—焓变,kJ/mol;ΔS—熵变,J/(mol·K)。
表3看出:在不同Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度下,ΔG均小于0,说明吸附为自发过程;ΔS>0、ΔH>0,说明PEI/MBC吸附为吸热反应,温度升高有利于反应进行。
在吸附试验中,采用磁铁回收PEI/MBC可快速实现固液分离,PEI/MBC的磁滞回线如图12所示。可以看出:PEI/MBC吸附剂的比饱和磁化强度为25.73 (A·m2)/kg,说明通过外加磁场方法可实现吸附剂快速分离。
为了测试PEI/MBC的循环使用效果,在模拟溶液中Cr(Ⅵ)初始质量浓度50 mg/L、初始pH=2、温度30 ℃、PEI/MBC投加量1.0 g/L、解吸剂NaOH浓度0.1 mol/L条件下,进行4次循环吸附—解吸试验,每次解吸24 h,结果如图13所示。可以看出:随吸附次数增加,PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附量不断下降,这可能是因为每次解吸都会对PEI/MBC复合材料造成一定损耗,导致解吸后PEI/MBC表面的吸附点位被弱化,从而降低了吸附性能;PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)进行4次循环吸附后,吸附量有所下降,但最低仍保持在30.05 mg/g,说明PEI/MBC可重复使用。
吸附Cr(Ⅵ)前、后PEI/MBC的全范围XPS分析结果如图14所示。可以看出:吸附前、后PEI/MBC均含有C、N、O和Fe元素,表明这4种元素是构成PEI/MBC的主要元素;PEI/MBC吸附后位于397.7 eV处N元素的吸收峰明显减小,说明胺基参与了吸附反应[22],这可能是因为PEI/MBC表面的—NH2在酸性条件下发生质子化,形成了带正电荷的—$\mathrm{NH}_{3}^{+}$,带正电荷—$\mathrm{NH}_{3}^{+}$通过静电作用力与带负电荷的$\mathrm{HCrO}_{4}^{-}$相互作用,实现对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附;吸附后PEI/MBC在580 eV附近出现了Cr 2p新峰,表明Cr(Ⅵ)被吸附在PEI/MBC表面。
PEI/MBC吸附Cr(Ⅵ)后的单扫描Cr 2p图谱如图15所示。可以看出:Cr 2p3/2轨道上的拟合峰分别在576.7、579.0 eV处出现了Cr(Ⅲ)、Cr(Ⅵ)特征峰[23],说明被PEI/MBC表面吸附的部分Cr(Ⅵ)被还原为Cr(Ⅲ)。
通过PEI/MBC的XPS表征及吸附试验结果推测PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附机制为:PEI/MBC复合材料通过物理吸附溶液中游离的Cr(Ⅵ),在酸性介质中,PEI/MBC表面活性基团胺基发生质子化反应带正电荷,与带负电荷的Cr(Ⅵ)产生静电吸附;部分被吸附在表面的Cr(Ⅵ)被还原为Cr(Ⅲ),生成的Cr(Ⅲ)可继续与吸附剂表面胺基反应生成配合物被去除。还原反应方程式如下:

以碱改性棉秆生物质炭为基质,通过共沉淀法赋磁后再进行PEI改性,成功制备了一种新型磁性吸附材料PEI/MBC。该法不仅能保留PEI对重金属离子的强吸附性,还能通过磁性生物质炭的磁性实现对重金属离子的快速分离与回收,大大提高了吸附剂的实用性和经济性。将PEI/MBC用于吸附废水中Cr(Ⅵ)时,随溶液pH升高,Cr(Ⅵ)吸附量呈先增大后减小趋势,pH=2时吸附效果最好。竞争性阴离子的存在会导致PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)吸附性能下降。PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附过程可用准二级动力学模型和Freundlich等温吸附模型更好地描述,吸附过程为自发的吸热过程,升温有利于吸附进行。PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)进行4次循环吸附后,其吸附性能略有下降。PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附机制包括物理吸附、静电吸引和还原反应。
PEI/MBC对Cr(Ⅵ)的吸附效果较好,在含Cr(Ⅵ)废水处理领域具有一定应用潜力;但其制备过程中所用部分试剂价格较高,这在一定程度上限制了其在大规模应用中的经济可行性,仍有待进一步降低和优化制备成本。
