Leaching of uranium, thorium and rare earth from the monazite selective solution residue were studied by conventional leaching—two-stage countercurrent leaching was studied. The effects of various factors on the leaching was investigated. The results show that the leaching rates of uranium, thorium and rare earth are 98.66%, 95.37% and 64.23%, respectively under suitable conditions using conventional leaching method. Using the two-stage countercurrent leaching method, the leaching rates of uranium, thorium and rare earth can be increased by 0.5%~1.0%, the residual acid of the leaching solution can be reduced by more than 50%, and the solid-liquid separation performance of the slurry can be improved to a certain extent.

针对某独居石优溶渣,研究了采用一段常规浸出—二段逆流浸出工艺浸出铀、钍、稀土。考察了各因素对浸出效果的影响。结果表明:采用一段常规浸出法时,适宜条件下的铀、钍、稀土浸出率分别为98.66%、95.37%、64.23%;采用二段逆流浸出法时,铀、钍、稀土浸出率均可提高0.5%~1.0%,浸出液余酸降低50%以上,矿浆固液分离性能得到了一定改善。

Leaching of uranium, thorium and rare earth from the monazite selective solution residue were studied by conventional leaching—two-stage countercurrent leaching was studied. The effects of various factors on the leaching was investigated. The results show that the leaching rates of uranium, thorium and rare earth are 98.66%, 95.37% and 64.23%, respectively under suitable conditions using conventional leaching method. Using the two-stage countercurrent leaching method, the leaching rates of uranium, thorium and rare earth can be increased by 0.5%~1.0%, the residual acid of the leaching solution can be reduced by more than 50%, and the solid-liquid separation performance of the slurry can be improved to a certain extent.

独居石是一种稀土矿物,富含稀土、铀、钍等宝贵资源,但很少有独立的矿床,通常与锆、钛、锡等有色金属矿物共生[1]。工业上常采用氢氧化钠碱煮分解法从独居石中提取稀土和磷元素,会产生大量优溶渣[2]。在提取稀土过程中,独居石精矿中约有10%的稀土及绝大部分的铀、钍元素,连同部分铁、钛等杂质进入到优溶渣中,其中铀质量分数为0.4%~1.0%,钍质量分数为14%~24%[3]。优溶渣中铀、钍元素的品位远高于当前开采过程中大部分矿石,具有一定回收价值。
目前,针对独居石优溶渣的浸出方法主要有硫酸法、盐酸法和硝酸法。硫酸法主要用于浸出优溶渣中的铀元素,浸出前须通过洗涤去除渣中的氯,以降低其对后续工艺和设备的影响,流程较繁琐,此外浸出产物硫酸钍的溶解度相对较低,须严格控制浸出液固体积质量比,才能减少浸出后铀钍综合回收的影响[4-6];盐酸法对优溶渣中多种有价元素同步浸出效果较好,但浸出余酸较低时,有价元素浸出率较低,余酸较高时,对有价元素综合回收和水循环利用影响较大[7-9];硝酸法较为成熟,但浸出条件苛刻,污染较大,后续有价元素综合回收工艺流程复杂冗长[10]。上述方法均存在浸出矿浆固液分离困难等问题。
针对独居石优溶渣浸出过程固液分离困难、浸出液余酸高和多种有价元素综合浸出率低等问题,试验研究了采用一段常规浸出—二段逆流浸出工艺[11-13]从某独居石优溶渣中综合回收铀、钍、稀土,考察了反应时间、液固体积质量比、反应温度等因素对优溶渣浸出效果的影响,确定了适宜浸出条件,以期改善独居石优溶渣浸出矿浆过滤性能,提高有价金属综合回收率,平衡浸出过程余酸需求与稀土回收过程碱耗矛盾,降低生产成本和试剂消耗。
试验原料:广东某稀土公司处理独居石精矿所产生优溶渣,含水率36.8%,于105 ℃下烘干,其主要元素组成见表1
试验试剂:盐酸(35%),分析纯,国药集团化学试剂有限公司;水。
试验设备及仪器:水浴恒温磁力搅拌器,SHT-6C型,金坛市美特仪器制造有限公司;精密电子天平,ME2002E/02型,梅特勒托利多科技有限公司;抗化学腐蚀三级隔膜真空泵,MPC601T型,德国伊尔姆真空泵制造有限公司;电热鼓风干燥箱,DHG-9245A型,上海圣科仪器设备有限公司;ICP-AES,5300DV型,美国Perkin Elmer公司。
独居石精矿中主要含有稀土、磷、铀、钍等有价元素,同时还存在硅、铁、锆、钛、铝等杂质,在氢氧化钠溶液中加热至140~160 ℃,通过“碱溶”的方法固液分离后得含稀土、铀和钍的“碱饼”,主要化学反应如下[14]:
REPO4+3NaOH═══════RE(OH)3↓+Na3PO4;
Th3(PO4)4+12NaOH═══════3Th(OH)4↓+4Na3PO4;
2U3O8+O2+6NaOH═══════3Na2U2O7↓+3H2O。
产生的“碱饼”用盐酸优溶,控制反应终点pH在4.5左右。优溶后通过固液分离得到氯化稀土溶液和含RE(OH)3、Th(OH)4、Fe(OH)3和Na2U2O7等不溶物的优溶渣,这些不溶物在盐酸体系中可能发生的化学反应为:
RE(OH)3+3HCl═══════RECl3+3H2O;
Th(OH)4+4HCl═══════ThCl4+4H2O;
Fe(OH)3+3HCl═══════FeCl3+3H2O。
在盐酸浸出过程中,Na2U2O7被分解,以U4+和$\mathrm{UO}_{2}^{2+}$形式存在于溶液中。盐酸浸出后,优溶渣中大部分铀、钍、稀土和铁、钛、铝、锆、硅等杂质一同进入溶液中,硅元素在高酸条件下溶出形成硅胶,导致浸出液黏度增大,浸出矿浆过滤性能降低;浸出液余酸浓度对优溶渣中铀、钍和稀土的浸出也会产生影响[15];同时浸出液余酸浓度的升高会增加后续稀土回收过程的碱耗。为改善浸出矿浆过滤性能,提高有价金属综合回收率,平衡浸出过程余酸需求与稀土回收过程碱耗矛盾,降低生产成本和试剂消耗,采用二段浸出工艺对独居石优溶渣进行浸出。
称取50 g(干质量)优溶渣样品置于500 mL玻璃烧杯中,利用浓盐酸和水配制成一定浓度的盐酸溶液(或二段浸出液和洗水)作为浸出剂,按照一定的液固体积质量比加入到玻璃烧杯中。再将玻璃烧杯置于恒温水浴锅中,在设定温度下开启搅拌,浸出反应一定时间。待浸出结束后,采用真空抽滤对浸出矿浆进行固液分离,采用电感耦合等离子体发射光谱法分析浸出液和尾渣中有价元素铀、钍和稀土及其他相关数据变化,考察浸出过程各因素对优溶渣浸出效果的影响。
优溶渣质量50 g,盐酸浓度6 mol/L,液固体积质量比2/1,反应时间4 h,反应温度对铀、钍和稀土浸出率的影响试验结果如图1所示。
温度是浸出过程的关键因素之一,除提供化学反应活化能,提高化学反应速率,推动反应向正向进行外,还对浸出过程的矿浆黏度及传质速率等物理因素有一定影响。由图1看出:随反应温度升高,铀、钍浸出率变化趋势较为平缓,这是由于优溶渣中的铀、钍元素主要是在稀土精矿氢氧化钠分解—盐酸优溶回收稀土过程中以氢氧化物形式产生的沉淀,其溶解过程受温度影响较小;稀土浸出率随反应温度升高而明显升高,这是由于优溶渣中的稀土元素除部分以氢氧化物形式存在以外,其余存在于未分解矿物中,升高反应温度有助于该部分矿物浸出,从而提高稀土元素浸出率。反应温度升至70 ℃时,铀、钍浸出率均大于95%,稀土浸出率大于60%;继续升高反应温度,铀、钍和稀土浸出率变化不大。故确定反应温度以70 ℃为宜。
优溶渣质量50 g,液固体积质量比2/1,盐酸浓度6 mol/L,反应温度70 ℃,反应时间对铀、钍和稀土浸出率的影响试验结果如图2所示。
图2看出:铀、钍和稀土浸出率均随反应时间延长而升高;反应3 h后,铀、钍和稀土浸出率变化趋于平缓;继续延长反应时间对各元素浸出率影响较小。故确定反应时间以3 h为宜。
独居石优溶渣盐酸浸出后,浸出液余酸在2 mol/L以上,其中大部分有价元素浸出到溶液中;该酸度下优溶渣浸出矿浆难以过滤,造成分离时间长、生产效率低、铀钍资源回收率低等问题[16]。通过提高液固体积质量比可改善浸出动力学条件,降低矿浆中各元素和颗粒物质浓度,从而提高资源回收率,降低矿浆黏度,改善过滤性能。
优溶渣质量50 g,浸出剂盐酸浓度6 mol/L,反应时间3 h,反应温度70 ℃,液固体积质量比对优溶渣浸出效果影响试验结果如表2图3所示。
表2图3看出:在浸出剂盐酸浓度不变条件下,液固体积质量比对铀、钍和稀土的浸出率影响较小;随液固体积质量比增大,浸出液余酸中H+浓度逐渐升高,浸出矿浆过滤速度加快,液固体积质量比为3/1时,矿浆过滤速度升至25 L/(m2·h)左右;继续增大液固体积质量比,矿浆过滤速度升幅趋缓。考虑到液固体积质量比过大,会导致浸出液中各元素浓度降低,同时使余酸浓度升高,增大后续多金属分离回收过程溶液处理量,降低萃取效率,从而增加酸度调节过程的碱耗。故确定适宜的液固体积质量比为3/1。
浸出剂盐酸浓度对优溶渣中铀、钍和稀土浸出率会有较大影响,浸出产生的余酸浓度也会对后期各元素分离工艺造成影响。
优溶渣质量50 g,液固体积质量比3/1,反应时间3 h,反应温度70 ℃,浸出剂盐酸浓度对铀、钍和稀土浸出率的影响试验结果如图4所示。
图4看出,增大盐酸浓度可有效提升铀、钍和稀土浸出率:盐酸浓度增至6 mol/L时,铀浸出率升至96.56%,钍浸出率升至95.36%,稀土浸出率升至62.72%;继续增大盐酸浓度,浸出液余酸浓度升高,铀、钍和稀土浸出率升幅较小。综合考虑,确定一段常规浸出的浸出剂盐酸浓度为6 mol/L。
根据上述试验结果可知,采用一段常规浸出法可有效浸出优溶渣中的铀、钍和稀土,但在高浓度盐酸浸出体系中,优溶渣中大量元素浸出易导致浸出矿浆黏度增大、离子浓度升高、余酸较高,造成后续矿浆固液分离、浸出渣洗涤和多金属元素综合回收工序困难,因此,试验对该优溶渣进行二段逆流浸出。先通过一段预处理降低一段浸出液中各元素浓度及余酸浓度,减小浸出矿浆黏度,改善其过滤性能;之后用高浓度盐酸对一段浸出渣进行二段强化浸出,提高铀、钍和稀土浸出率。二段浸出是以一段浸出渣作为对象,二段浸出液中各元素浓度远低于相同条件下一段浸出液,从而能使高酸浸出液黏度降低,有利于后续固液分离。
试验根据一段常规浸出试验结果,结合二段逆流浸出工艺需求优化试验参数。当浸出剂盐酸浓度为6 mol/L时,浸出液余酸浓度c(H+)为3.23 mol/L,与优溶渣单次浸出酸耗接近,二段浸出以一段浸出液作为浸出剂进行优溶渣预浸时余酸过低,不利于各元素氢氧化物的溶解和未分解矿物解离;当浸出剂盐酸浓度增至8.4 mol/L时,浸出液余酸浓度c(H+)为5.69 mol/L,优溶渣预浸后余酸浓度c(H+)仍可达2~3 mol/L,可满足预浸对余酸的需求,而此时,在适宜条件下,铀、钍和稀土浸出率分别为98.66%、95.37%和64.23%,更有利于铀和稀土元素的浸出。综合考虑,确定二段浸出剂盐酸浓度为8.4 mol/L。
综上设定二段逆流浸出试验条件。一段浸出:优溶渣质量50 g,液固体积质量比3/1,反应时间1.5 h,反应温度70 ℃;二段浸出:原料为一段浸出渣,反应时间1.5 h,反应温度70 ℃,浸出剂盐酸体积150 mL、浓度8.4 mol/L。二段浸出液和洗水返回一段浸出,用作浸出剂,二段逆流浸出工艺流程如图5所示,试验结果见表3
图5表3看出:一段预浸过程在控制盐酸浓度条件下进行,利用二段浸出液中的余酸对优溶渣中铀、钍和稀土的氢氧化物进行回收,可提高浸出剂盐酸利用率,降低浸出液余酸浓度和整体酸耗;预浸过程优溶渣未完全分解,会降低浸出液中各离子浓度,减少杂质溶出,提高矿浆固液分离性能。二段浸出将高浓度盐酸作用于一段浸出渣,可提高未分解难浸矿物浸出环境酸浓度,说明强化浸出条件有利于矿物进一步分解和铀、钍、稀土浸出率的提高;由于部分元素已在一段浸出过程浸出,从而使高酸条件下二段浸出液中各元素浓度降低,尤其是Si为主的杂质浓度降低,会使矿浆黏度降低,进而使过滤速度得以提升。在浸出率相近条件下(浸出剂盐酸浓度为8.4 mol/L),与一段常规浸出相比,二段逆流浸出液余酸浓度c(H+)由5.69 mol/L降至2.5 mol/L以下,矿浆过滤速度提高2~4倍,铀、钍、稀土浸出率均提高0.5%~1.0%。
1)采用一段常规浸出法处理独居石优溶渣,在浸出剂盐酸浓度8.4 mol/L、液固体积质量比3/1、反应时间3 h、反应温度70 ℃最佳条件下,铀、钍、稀土浸出率分别为98.66%、95.37%、64.23%。
2)采用二段逆流浸出法处理独居石优溶渣,难浸矿物浸出条件可得到进一步强化,铀、钍、稀土浸出率可分别提升至99.22%、96.60%、65.54%。
3)通过多次二段逆流浸出循环试验验证,一段浸出中采用二段浸出液余酸对优溶渣进行预浸处理,浸出液余酸浓度可降低50%以上,同时还可有效降低二段浸出矿浆黏度和各元素浓度,改善矿浆固液分离性能,提升矿浆过滤效率。
