Using molten salt as a heat medium to form a high-temperature molten salt heat exchange system, a set of molten salt heat storage and carbonization device was designed. The structure and rated working conditions of the molten salt-carbonization furnace were designed, and the Nu empirical formula was applied to calculate the composite surface heat transfer coefficient of the molten salt-cylinder wall, and the relevant small-scale carbonization tests were carried out. The results showed that the convective heat transfer coefficient hti of the molten salt in the pipeline was much greater than the convective heat transfer coefficient ho1 of the molten salt heating layer of the carbonization furnace. The theoretical thermal efficiency and the measured thermal efficiency of the biomass carbonization device increased with the carbonization temperature. With the increase in carbonization temperature, decrease in material handling capacity, and extension of carbonization time, the calorific value of the products increased, but the solid energy yield decreased. Compared with rice husks, the organic components of pine wood shavings were more likely to escape into tar and even the vapor phase during the carbonization process. The designed experimental device can realize the carbonization of biomass under the condition of storing molten salt as a heat medium, which achieves the purpose of energy saving and carbon dioxide emission reduction.

以熔盐充当热媒形成高温熔盐换热系统,设计了一套熔盐储热炭化装置。对熔盐-炭化炉进行结构和额定工况设计,将Nu经验公式应用于熔盐-筒壁的复合表面传热系数的计算,并开展相关小试炭化实验。结果发现:管道内熔盐的对流传热系数hti远大于炭化炉熔盐加热层的对流传热系数ho1;炭化炉理论热效率和实测热效率均随炭化温度的提升而升高;随炭化温度升高、物料处理量减少以及炭化时间延长,产物热值升高,固体能量产率降低;相较于稻壳,松木刨花在炭化过程中有机物组分更易逃逸至焦油乃至气相中。所设计的实验装置实现了以储热熔盐充当热媒条件下的生物质炭化,可达到节能并减少二氧化碳排放的目的。

以熔盐充当热媒形成高温熔盐换热系统,设计了一套熔盐储热炭化装置。对熔盐-炭化炉进行结构和额定工况设计,将Nu经验公式应用于熔盐-筒壁的复合表面传热系数的计算,并开展相关小试炭化实验。结果发现:管道内熔盐的对流传热系数hti远大于炭化炉熔盐加热层的对流传热系数ho1;炭化炉理论热效率和实测热效率均随炭化温度的提升而升高;随炭化温度升高、物料处理量减少以及炭化时间延长,产物热值升高,固体能量产率降低;相较于稻壳,松木刨花在炭化过程中有机物组分更易逃逸至焦油乃至气相中。所设计的实验装置实现了以储热熔盐充当热媒条件下的生物质炭化,可达到节能并减少二氧化碳排放的目的。

Using molten salt as a heat medium to form a high-temperature molten salt heat exchange system, a set of molten salt heat storage and carbonization device was designed. The structure and rated working conditions of the molten salt-carbonization furnace were designed, and the Nu empirical formula was applied to calculate the composite surface heat transfer coefficient of the molten salt-cylinder wall, and the relevant small-scale carbonization tests were carried out. The results showed that the convective heat transfer coefficient hti of the molten salt in the pipeline was much greater than the convective heat transfer coefficient ho1 of the molten salt heating layer of the carbonization furnace. The theoretical thermal efficiency and the measured thermal efficiency of the biomass carbonization device increased with the carbonization temperature. With the increase in carbonization temperature, decrease in material handling capacity, and extension of carbonization time, the calorific value of the products increased, but the solid energy yield decreased. Compared with rice husks, the organic components of pine wood shavings were more likely to escape into tar and even the vapor phase during the carbonization process. The designed experimental device can realize the carbonization of biomass under the condition of storing molten salt as a heat medium, which achieves the purpose of energy saving and carbon dioxide emission reduction.

生物质燃煤耦合掺烧是实现燃煤电厂碳减排的重要技术手段之一,生物质等固废如何进行减容化和资源化处理是亟待解决的环境问题。高温热解技术能够将低能量密度、低热值生物质经过炭化反应转换生成高品质的固体衍生燃料及可燃气、油等,大幅提升利用效率,是极具潜力的固废处理手段[1]。但是,传统炭化技术需要消耗天然气等外加燃料提供热源,在能源危机日益严重的当前,如何找寻新的可再生清洁能源用于替代传统燃料迫在眉睫,对碳减排具有积极意义[2]
太阳能光热发电技术为解决能源问题提供了重要思路,但光热电站面临在不利天气或夜间工作能力受限的难题[3],对此,研究者们将熔盐储热系统与新能源发电技术相结合,保证了能源利用的稳定性与连续性[4]。学者们针对熔盐储能技术进行了大量研究。西班牙的Gemasolar作为首个商业化中央塔式熔盐光热电站,装机规模高达19.9 MW,年发电量达到110 GW·h,被视为世界上最具创造性的光热发电站之一[5]。汪琦等[6]开发了熔盐蓄热储能循环系统的工艺流程,提出了防止熔盐管路凝固板结、贮罐内防固化等安全保护措施。王辉等[7]为新能源消纳寻找出路,提出了百兆瓦级熔盐储能技术,在锅炉和汽轮机之间增加了熔盐储热系统,实现了热电解耦,系统综合效率高达77.8%。刘春雨[8]针对目前光热电站中常见的双罐熔盐储能系统,采用混凝土和相变材料充当储能介质的方案研究了不同介质下的储能效果。
尽管前人对熔盐储能技术及相关设备进行了大量研究,但还未有研究者将其应用于固废的热解处理领域,因此如何设计一套熔盐储热炭化装置用于生物质的热解处理是具有科学及工程意义的。本文基于理论研究,以熔盐充当热媒形成高温熔盐换热系统,设计了一套熔盐储热炭化装置,对熔盐-炭化炉进行结构和额定工况设计,进而对熔盐系统在变工况下的炭化换热性能进行分析,以期为熔盐储能炭化技术的实际应用提供参考。
本研究所用的储热介质为质量比m(NaNO3):m(KNO3)=6:4的二元复合盐,所用熔盐和生物质原料的相关参数见表1
本套熔盐储热炭化装置的设计思路如下:在熔盐罐内添加二元复合硝酸盐,并通过内置电加热棒熔化熔盐,使熔盐在高温条件下实现储能。炭化炉结构如图1所示。该炭化炉创新性和优势在于:炭化炉内腔用于装填物料并设置了推进式搅拌刮刀用于摊平物料使其均匀受热和推进物料;通过熔盐泵自下而上将熔盐输送至炭化炉套筒夹层内,熔盐夹层和生物质物料发生间壁式换热,实现储热熔盐的热能回收利用。此外,分别在炭化炉装置熔盐夹层的各个点位以及炭化炉的进、出料口处设置热电偶用以监测熔盐及物料温度,在氮气气氛和高温条件下,炉内生物质发生热解炭化反应。
炭化炉内生物质裂解最终产生的气、油相产物被风机抽送至冷凝器及后端气体净化装置,而炭化后的固体产物则通过炉体底部的电动刀闸阀被排出并收集于不锈钢储料桶内,高温熔盐在“熔盐储液罐-电加热器-熔盐泵-炭化炉”之间循环往复,回流熔盐温度降低后经过储罐内设置的电加热器重新加热。熔盐流量则通过流量计计量,整个系统实物样式及工艺流程分别如图2图3所示。

生物质在炭化炉内发生分解反应需要吸收热量,热量包含生物质物料升温、水分的升温和蒸发、物料的反应热,炭化炉的热负荷QC计算公式为:

物料在炉内发生炭化反应所需热量由熔盐通过圆筒炭化炉炉壁的强制对流换热提供,将该工况简化为流体横掠单管的强制对流传热模型,在工程应用上常用努塞特数Nu的经验公式估算该工况下的传热系数ho[9]Nu是对流热传递相对于导热增强程度的度量,可由式(2)推导:

为确保生物质能够在炭化炉内完成反应,需要确定装置的需求传热系数Kreq

接触面积A与设备的物料填充率有关,且随着炭化反应的进行,物料的堆积密度和粒度也会发生改变,故A是动态变化的。
而炭化炉的实际传热系数Kact是由计算的炉体内、外传热系数和设备本体结构特性决定的:

式中:ho1为炉体熔盐夹层侧传热系数,W/(m2·K);hi1为物料侧传热系数,W/(m2·K);λS为金属不锈钢的导热系数,W/(m·K)。式(9)忽略了熔盐污垢热阻和炭化炉内筒壁潜在的结焦热阻,本系统筒体及管道材质均为304不锈钢。
为确保炉内的炭化反应能够完成,实际传热系数的设计需要保有裕量,裕量d的表达式为:

当高温熔盐介质在系统内循环运行时,热量会从管道、筒体的外表面损失,为减少系统散热,有必要对设备外表面进行保温。本系统保温材料采用硅酸铝针刺毯,其导热系数可近似看作温度的线性函数λ=0.034+0.000 2×T[9],炭化炉保温层厚度为150 mm,管道保温层厚度为100 mm,其中炭化炉的筒体截面示意如图4所示。
物料在筒内被倾斜旋转刮刀(未示意)逐步向前推进,夹层内的熔盐则在熔盐泵的作用下循环更替,熔盐向内会传递热量从而对生物质进行加热炭化,向外则经过保温层的热传递从而发生热损失。此外,炭化炉筒体两端的盖板会有热损。同理,管道内的熔盐在运动过程中通过热对流传热至管壁,经过保温层的导热也会发生热损失。综上,管道热损失QT、炭化炉筒体外侧壁热损失QW、筒体两端盖板热损失QF构成整个炭化炉系统用热端的全部热损失QA

其中,熔盐在管道段发生的热损失可通过圆形管槽内的强制对流传热模型进行推衍,其传热系数hT可通过Nu经验公式估算得到,而Nu可经过Dittus-Boelter公式[11]推导得到:

本研究优先核算了炭化炉熔盐夹层和供给熔盐管道的对流传热系数,结果如图5所示。在300~500 ℃的熔盐工作温度区间,管道内熔盐的对流传热系数hti的数值在7 961~10 756 W/(m2·K)区间,而炭化炉加热层对流传热系数ho1的数值在25.3~28.2 W/(m2·K)区间;hti远大于ho1,原因在于管道内熔盐流速ut远大于夹层内熔盐流速u,更高的流速增强了流体与筒壁间的对流换热效果。
为验证相关传热模型的可靠性,通过模型核算炭化炉保温系统的散热量进而折算炭化炉进、出口管道的理论温降,并在空载试机状态下待装置升温稳定后测量进、出口管道实际温降,结果如图6所示。实测值仅略高于理论值,说明模型具备一定参考性。
此外,考虑设备填充率,对反应传热面积A予以系数修正,并同步核算了在不同熔盐温度下炭化炉热解生物质时的工作热通量和系统的热损失。工作热通量、热损失与熔盐温度的相关趋势关系如下图7所示。
工作热通量是反馈系统对生物质炭化反应的加热功率,在300~500 ℃,炭化炉的加热功率范围为1.01~4.81 kW,热损失范围为0.95~2.09 kW。随温度升高,炭化炉的热损失和热通量都逐渐增高,这是因为升高温度提高了反应的传热温差推动力。随着温度提升,工作热通量的增幅比热损失增幅更高,说明提高温度能够提升熔盐和物料之间的换热效果。
以典型农业生物质稻壳和林业生物质松木刨花为研究对象,考查不同熔盐温度、处理量、物料及熔盐泵流量情况下生物质物料的炭化特性,测量产物热值(高位发热量),并计算固体能量产率ηp[12]

相关实验设计表格及实验结果见表4表7。根据表4表7的实验计划表开展工作,结果表明,炭化反应后生成的生物焦的热值显著高于原料,说明物料的能量密度有所提升。随着熔盐反应温度的升高,固体产物的热值逐渐增大,但是固体产率和固体能量产率逐步降低;随着物料处理量的增加,产物热值逐渐降低,而固体产率和固体能量产率逐步升高;随着反应时间的增加,固体产物的热值逐渐增大,但是固体产率和固体能量产率逐步降低;稻壳的原料和产物热值比松木刨花更高,最终稻壳的炭化固体能量产率也更高。
针对表7的实验,收集稻壳、松木刨花炭化产生的冷凝焦油并进行GC-MS的定性和定量分析,表征结果如图8所示。
经相似图谱检索显著特征峰对应类似化合物发现,稻壳热解焦油对应类似化合物为1-羟基-2-丁酮、3-呋喃甲醇、苯酚和愈创木酚,松木刨花热解焦油对应类似化合物为1-羟基-2-丁酮、糠醛、愈创木酚。不论是稻壳还是松木刨花,产生焦油中主要有机物组分都是呋喃类、酮类、酚类、醇类。其中,稻壳焦油中有机物的占比超过1%,而松木刨花焦油中主要有机物的占比超过5%,说明以松木刨花为代表的木质类生物质在炭化过程中,有机物组分更易逃逸至焦油相中,松木刨花炭化后固体能量产率比稻壳更低也侧面验证了这一观点。
在300~500 ℃范围内,炭化炉的实测热效率范围为38.34%~56.61%,系统理论热效率则从51.5%提升至69.7%,这是因为随着炭化反应温度梯度的升高,热效率逐步增大,炭化炉工作热通量的增量高于热损失的增量,这符合物料和熔盐之间的传热推动力随着温度提高而提升的客观规律,说明本文模型具备一定的可取性。
不同熔盐层温度下炭化炉热效率如图9所示。由图9可以看出,实测热效率和理论热效率随着熔盐层温度的升高呈现逐步上升的趋势,但是实测热效率比理论热效率数值低,究其原因:其一是系统保温层的施工过程与理论值有一定的偏差,存在一定程度的厚薄不均匀,且设备外表面不可避免地存在局部裸露,增加了系统的散热量;其二是随着炭化反应进行,物料与熔盐的温差逐步降低减少了传热推动力,且物料的堆积密度也有所下降,进一步减小了反应面积A,在供给熔盐参数不变的情况下,供给物料炭化反应的热量减少,而系统损失的热量增加,故熔盐炭化炉加热效率在反应末段降低。
以3 t/d生物质半炭化反应器为例,对比谷电加热熔盐储热炭化技术和常规炭化技术路线,包括常规电加热炭化技术、天然气燃烧炭化技术、生物质气化产可燃气炭化技术,结果见表8。可见,使用谷电储热的技术路线能够将能源成本降至92.12元/t生物质,低于市面常规其他技术路线。若扩大系统产能规模,使用光热储能罐直接储存太阳能,则在理论上能够进一步降低生物质炭化的能源成本。
1)Nu经验公式适用于熔盐-筒壁的复合表面传热系数的估算,针对管道内和筒体夹层内的熔盐传热,需使用不同的经验公式进行计算,管道内熔盐的对流传热系数hti远大于熔盐加热层的对流传热系数ho1
2)炭化炉热效率随炭化温度升高而增大,而实测热效率比理论热效率低18%~25%,说明炭化炉理论热通量的理论模型仍有优化空间。
3)随炭化温度升高、物料处理量减少以及炭化时间延长,产物热值更高,固体能量产率降低。
4)相较于稻壳,松木刨花在炭化过程中有机物组分更易逃逸至焦油乃至气相中。
5)以储热熔盐充当热媒的炭化炉能够实现生物质炭化,达到节能目的。
6)因为炭化反应是动态变化过程,建议后续研究对炭化反应过程中不同生物质物料的堆积密度ρ、炭化炉反应传热面积A、物料实际温度T进行动态拟合,并探究生物质物料堆积床在搅拌情况下的传热模型,同时考虑工程放大性试验,以修正热通量理论模型增加其可靠性。
