The efficient development of deep oil & gas has become a major demand for strategic resource replacement in China and constitutes an important part of the deep exploration of the earth, and the drilling and production technologies are the key to realizing the vision. In this paper, the development status of deep oil & gas drilling and production technologies in China was systematically summarized, and the gap between China and other countries in terms of the advanced level was analyzed, with the technological development trends in other countries discussed. According to the major technical problems and needs of deep oil & gas in China, the focus of research and breakthroughs in the three major directions of basic frontier technology, major key technology, and intelligent technology of deep oil & gas drilling and production were put forward from three aspects of technology promotion, technology innovation, and technology transformation. The research on these key technologies to build deep oil & gas drilling and production technology systems in China is of great significance for supporting major breakthroughs in deep oil & gas exploration, enhancing profits, and ensuring national energy security.

The efficient development of deep oil & gas has become a major demand for strategic resource replacement in China and constitutes an important part of the deep exploration of the earth, and the drilling and production technologies are the key to realizing the vision. In this paper, the development status of deep oil & gas drilling and production technologies in China was systematically summarized, and the gap between China and other countries in terms of the advanced level was analyzed, with the technological development trends in other countries discussed. According to the major technical problems and needs of deep oil & gas in China, the focus of research and breakthroughs in the three major directions of basic frontier technology, major key technology, and intelligent technology of deep oil & gas drilling and production were put forward from three aspects of technology promotion, technology innovation, and technology transformation. The research on these key technologies to build deep oil & gas drilling and production technology systems in China is of great significance for supporting major breakthroughs in deep oil & gas exploration, enhancing profits, and ensuring national energy security.
