As a way to achieve carbon neutrality, hydrogen energy is an important component of the future national energy system, and it is necessary for the selection of hydrogen technology routes and the formulation of hydrogen energy development plans. In March 2022, China issued the Medium and Long-term Planning for the Hydrogen Energy Industry (2021-2035), which makes strategic positioning and overall requirements for the development of hydrogen energy from the national level. On the basis of grasping the content and development direction of China’s hydrogen energy planning, through the collection and research of literature, combined with the situation of fuel cell demonstration cities and hydrogen energy power technology routes, this paper analyzes the development route of China’s hydrogen energy industry, the degree of localization of key materials and components, elaborates the application and status quo of hydrogen energy in the field of transportation, and gives reasonable suggestions.
