The application of digital projection technology promotes the intelligent development of automobile headlights. In order to explore the new generation of car headlight technology, this article outlines the development history of automotive headlights. By studying the current status of digital projection headlights, three digital projection headlight technology solutions, DLP, Mirco LED, and LCD display, are compared and analyzed. The development trend of array projection headlights is also discussed, in order to provide reference for related research.

在科技创新的驱动下,汽车产业进入以电动化、网联化、智能化和共享化为标志的新四化时代[1]。在此时代背景下,汽车大灯技术也实现了显著进步,从传统功能型大灯发展为智能大灯(基于功能),光源方面从卤素大灯发展为发光二极管(Light-Emitting Diode,LED)大灯(基于光源)[2]。目前,LED大灯已成为市场主流且其占有率仍在逐年上升。基于LED光源的大规模应用,由于防眩目方面的优势,自适应远光灯系统(Adaptive Driving Beam,ADB)大灯发展迅速,正在被越来越多车型搭载。而数字光处理(Digital Light Processing,DLP)智能大灯等数字投影大灯凭借其在智能化、分辨率、信息交互、安全性方面的优势,有望继ADB大灯之后成为汽车大灯技术的新趋势。
数字投影大灯作为智能车灯的核心发展方向,其相关研究近年来在技术突破与应用场景拓展上取得了显著进展。国内学者王琛等[3]2024年系统地研究了DLP大灯的设计原理,通过光学系统优化实现了高分辨率与低畸变投影,为智能照明提供了理论基础。为了提高系统光学能力,中国科学院长春光学精密机械与物理研究所研究人员[4]对投影车灯的自由曲面光学系统进行了研究,构建了基于自由曲面参数化建模的复合光学设计框架,通过非球面透镜组与双曲面反射镜的协同优化,成功解决了小投射角工况下的几何畸变问题。吉林大学卢革宇教授[5]构建了智能车灯控制算法验证系统,实现了DLP大灯路面标识投影畸变校正和防眩光功能。该系统通过相机-投影设备内外参标定、路面标识投影畸变校正算法以及防眩光功能的实现,提高了智能车灯的性能和应用前景。艾迈斯欧司朗与弗劳恩霍夫研究所联合开发的25 600像素Micro-LED矩阵突破了传统照明的被动调制局限,结合数字控制系统实现了能耗降低40%的主动分区照明,并赋予大灯雪花预警、路径指引等交互投影功能[6]。上述研究共同推动数字投影大灯向高精度、低功耗、多场景方向演进,为智能驾驶提供了更安全、更高效的光学解决方案。
本文首先从光源和智能化的角度概述了多种类型汽车大灯原理及其优缺点,进而阐述了数字投影大灯的发展现状,包括DLP、Mirco LED和液晶显示(Liquid Crystal Display,LCD)3种方案的技术原理、搭载情况,并对3种方案进行对比。最后,本文结合了数字投影大灯3种不同技术方案的优点和局限性,并对数字投影大灯的未来发展趋势进行了展望。
在汽车发展过程中,汽车大灯极具创新潜力,是汽车主机厂和车灯厂的技术创新焦点。如图1所示,在光源方面,汽车大灯实现了由卤素大灯、氙气大灯至LED大灯的跨越。在智能化方面,汽车大灯实现了由传统大灯、自适应前大灯系统(Adaptive Front-lighting System,AFS)大灯、ADB大灯至数字投影大灯的跨越。
汽车大灯光源的发展注重照明功能,本文将基于安全、节能、亮度和使用寿命等性能详细阐述各类汽车大灯光源的工作原理及性能表现。
卤素大灯作为汽车照明系统的重要组成部分,其工作原理是基于电流通过钨丝产生的热效应,将电能转化为内能,进而辐射光能。然而,与传统白炽灯相比,卤素大灯通过引入碘或溴等卤素气体,并利用卤钨循环原理,有效解决了白炽灯长期使用后灯泡外壳发黑的问题,从而延长了灯泡的使用寿命。当钨丝受热升华时,灯泡内的卤素气体将与钨蒸汽发生化学反应生成卤钨化合物。卤钨化合物在靠近高温的灯丝时将受热分解为钨和卤素气体。钨在灯丝上沉积弥补了升华造成的损失,形成了动态平衡,使卤素大灯与白炽灯相比具有更长的使用寿命,平均使用寿命可达500小时。然而,卤素大灯仍存在寿命相对较短,且亮度较低且体积较大的局限性。以常见的55 W卤素大灯为例,其光通量最大约为1 200流明。尽管卤素大灯具有成本优势,但其目前主要应用于国内低端车型,且市场份额呈逐渐下降趋势。
氙气大灯的工作原理为在灯泡内充入高压氙气,通过增压器将车辆提供的12 V直流电压提升至23 kV,从而引发氙气电离,在灯泡两极形成高亮度的电弧,产生高强度光照。在启动阶段完成后,为维持氙气大灯的稳定工作,所需电压降低至85 V[7]。氙气大灯具有更广的照射范围,寿命可达3 000小时以上。以常见的35 W氙气大灯为例,其光通量峰值可达4 500流明,且其高色温特性有助于减轻驾驶者的视觉疲劳。然而,尽管氙气大灯在寿命、亮度、能耗方面优于卤素大灯,但其在雨雾等恶劣天气条件下的穿透力较差,且制造成本较高[8]
LED大灯作为一种新型的汽车照明技术,其核心组件为发光二极管。当在其两端施加正向电压时,P-N结附近的电子将与空穴结合,向外辐射光能[9]。LED大灯可以将电能直接转化为光能,其发光效率显著高于传统光源。LED大灯的能耗仅为卤素大灯的1/20,寿命超过100 000 h,光通量高达6 200 lm。此外,LED大灯具有体积小、结构紧凑的特点,为其在汽车造型设计中的应用提供了更大的灵活性,能够匹配更多车型。从2018年至2024年,LED大灯的渗透率从23%提升至85%[10],呈现快速增长趋势,已成为当前汽车大灯市场的主流选择。另一方面,随着辅助驾驶技术的推广,汽车大灯正朝着兼顾驾驶安全、自适应、信息交互的智能化方向发展。
传统的汽车大灯具有近光和远光2种固定模式,存在不能自动调节、缺乏智能化以及产生眩目的缺陷,影响夜间行车安全。例如,在汽车转向时,存在照明暗区,影响驾驶员对路况的判断;雨雪天气,灯光照射到路面上会发生反射,反射光照射到对向来车产生眩目;夜间行车时,发生事故的概率是白天的2倍[12]。为解决上述问题,AFS大灯应运而生。其通过在汽车上安装传感器和摄像头,能够根据环境对照明光束进行调节,实现车灯智能化。AFS大灯不仅能根据转向盘的转动和车身俯仰情况调节前照灯的照射高度和角度,防止眩目并提供良好的视野,而且提供了城市、高速、弯道、雨天等多种照明模式[13],如图2所示。随后,ADB系统通过将多颗可独立控制的LED矩阵式排列,能够更精确地调节照明区域。如图3所示,除了具有AFS功能外,ADB大灯还能根据周围环境自动开启、关闭远近光灯。自动调整远光光型,实现分区照射,在为驾驶者提供良好照明的同时可以防止其他车辆驾驶员和行人产生眩目。ADB大灯的渗透率在2019年为2%,在2024年增长至24%[14]
ADB大灯采用矩阵式LED结构,其中LED数目最多仅达到百位级,像素数量少且照明精度低,使得ADB大灯无法在路面上投影高清的光学符号,信息交互能力欠佳。在车灯智能化的大趋势下,兼具高像素、自适应和交互功能的数字投影大灯是汽车大灯的发展方向。
数字投影大灯基于数字投影技术,对汽车大灯灯光进行数字化处理。一方面,数字投影大灯能够识别周围的车辆和行人,自动调节照明区域,防止行人和车辆产生眩目。另一方面,其能够在道路上投影高清的光学符号,不仅能向驾驶者提供信息,还能与周围的车辆和行人进行沟通。与AFS和ADB大灯相比,其在智能化、分辨率、信息交互、安全性等方面更具优势。目前,数字投影大灯包括了DLP方案,Micro LED方案和LCD方案。2022年DLP大灯的渗透率低于1%,主要应用于40万以上的高端车型中。而Micro LED方案和LCD方案在量产车型上的应用还非常少。3种不同方案的结构以及基本原理如表1所示。
DLP数字投影大灯的基本原理为先对影像信号进行数字处理,然后再进行投影,其核心元件是德州仪器(Texas Instruments,TI)公司研发的DMD芯片。该芯片集成高达百万个微米级反射镜,并且每一个反射镜均安装于精密的微型铰链结构上,在电信号的作用下可以实现12°的偏转。DMD芯片的工作原理如图4所示。芯片上每个反射镜存在3种可切换的物理状态。当无电信号输入时,其处于状态2;当施加特定电信号使反射镜处于状态1时,光束经反射后进入投影系统并照射至屏幕;当其处于状态3时,光束经过反射镜反射进入吸收模块[16]。由于DMD芯片上的每个反射镜相当于一个像素点,使得像素可以达到百万量级。并且,每个像素点的亮灭状态均可由电信号独立控制。因此,将DLP技术应用于汽车大灯,可以实现高分辨率照明,显著提升照明系统的成像质量与控制精度。
2018年3月,梅赛德斯-迈巴赫S车型首次搭载了由马瑞利AL研发的DLP数字投影大灯,标志着该技术在汽车照明领域的商业化应用开端。该系统单侧集成了130万像素的DMD芯片,具有高分辨率和优异的成像质量。除了具备传统ADB大灯的防眩目功能外,DLP技术能够根据驾驶环境投射多样化的动态图案。例如,当驾驶过程中遇到冰雪路面,DLP数字投影大灯能在前方路面投影类似雪花的警示图案;在驾驶过程中向路面上投影与前方车辆距离等信息,在车距过近时及时提醒驾驶者;当汽车经过狭窄路段时,可以在地面上投影车辆宽度相当的光带,帮助驾驶者快速判断车辆能否可以通行。此外,DLP数字投影大灯还支持盲区警示、车道偏离警示等投影功能。
DLP数字投影大灯技术受到广泛关注,国内外主流汽车品牌及一级供应商(Tier1)陆续投入研发。搭载DLP数字投影大灯的车型逐渐进入市场。2019年4月,长城汽车旗下的WEY VV6车型搭载了DLP数字投影大灯,费用为35 000元。虽然其像素仅为1 152×576,但是依然能够实现较高分辨率的照明,并且向路面投影多种图案。2021年,奥迪e-tron Sportback和A8车型均提供了可选配的数字矩阵LED大灯。数字矩阵LED大灯采用DLP技术,像素达到130万,每个像素每秒可以调节超过5 000次。2022年,智己L7、智己LS7等搭载DLP数字投影大灯的车型陆续进入市场,其像素均高达130万。此外,路虎揽胜也提供了具有120万像素的DLP数字投影大灯。2024年,问界M9标配华为xPixel智能大灯,具有130万像素,且支持车道级指引与礼让行人投影,极氪007搭载ZKW公司供应的DLP模组,是首款25万元级搭载DLP大灯的车型,奥迪Q6 e-tron升级数字矩阵大灯2.0,投影精度提升40%。DLP数字投影大灯的发展时间线如图5所示。目前,能够提供DLP数字投影大灯产品的Tier 1主要包括马瑞利AL、华域视觉、ZKW以及曼德光电。其中,马瑞利AL主要为梅赛德斯迈巴赫的供应商,华域视觉为智己的供应商,ZKW和曼德光电分别是路虎和长城WEY的供应商。
传统LED大灯通常由多片独立的LED芯片集成,其整体亮度通过外部驱动电源控制,实现统一开闭[17]。而ADB中采用的矩阵式LED大灯,则通过将LED芯片按矩阵排列,并对阵列中的每个单元进行独立控制,实现更精细的光线管理。受限于LED的体积,其像素最多仅能到达百位级。
与前面2种方案不同,Micro LED技术通过在LED芯片的硅衬底上集成矩阵式CMOS控制电路,结合经过矩阵微结构处理的发光芯片,实现了对芯片上每个微结构发光区域的独立开关及电流控制。Micro LED结构中,芯片上的每个微结构发光区域均构成一个单独的像素点,可以实现精确控制。该特性使得Micro LED的像素密度可以达到万级水平,从而在应用于汽车大灯时,能够实现高分辨率的照明效果。
目前,Micro LED数字投影大灯在量产车型中的应用比较少。然而,一些LED厂家以及Tier 1已经开始了对Micro LED芯片以及大灯模组的研究和开发工作。2016年,欧司朗推出了EVIYOS®1.0芯片,其大小为4 mm×4 mm,像素数量能够达到1 024个,单个像素的光通量可以达到3 lm。2023年,欧司朗又推出了EVIYOS®2.0芯片,如图6所示。其发光面积仅为40 mm2,集成了多达25 600个可以单独控制的像素点,像素间距仅为40 μm。基于EVIYOS®2.0芯片,马瑞利AL成功研发出了一款Micro LED数字投影大灯——h-Digi®Micro LED模组,目前已投入批量生产。同年7月,海拉与汽车制造商保时捷合作推出了一款基于Micro LED的高分辨率前照灯,其具有超过32 000个可单独控制的像素。目前,这款SSL|HD数字化前照灯系统已经作为全新保时捷卡宴的可选配置亮相市场。此外,星宇股份也对Micro LED数字投影大灯进行了相关的研究[18]
LCD技术的原理是在背光源与光学元件之间加入LCD液晶显示屏。通过调节LCD两端电压控制透过光线的偏振态,进而控制光线的通过或吸收[19],实现对每一个像素的单独控制。LCD数字投影大灯与普通LCD显示屏相似,需要背光源、偏光片及液晶面板等元件。LCD面板通过控制偏振光的偏振角度,由一个滤光片来吸收某一偏振态的光,进而控制单个像素的亮度。2019年,大众开发了一款LCD数字投影大灯,其具有超过3万可独立控制的像素[20]。然而到目前为止,LCD数字投影大灯还未被应用到量产车型当中。
3种不同技术方案的数字投影大灯综合情况对比如表2所示。在成像分辨率方面,DLP方案具有最高分辨率,能够超过100万像素,而Micro LED方案和LCD方案均处于万级像素。由于DLP方案的核心器件DMD芯片被TI公司所垄断,因此该方案成本明显高于其他2种方案。此外,DLP系统中主要包含聚光系统、DMD芯片以及投影系统3个部分,使得其体积较大,需占用更多空间。Micro LED方案结构紧凑,能够减少30%的安装空间和质量[21]。在光学效率方面,得益于较少的光学器件和简单的结构,Micro LED方案比其他2种方案具有更大的优势。DLP方案中需要的光学器件较多,系统结构较为复杂,而LCD方案中偏光片与液晶面板传输损耗较大,导致2种方案的光学效率都比较低。此外,LCD方案中液晶面板在长时间高温工作下将导致寿命衰减以及性能参数发生变化,车载方面技术成熟度较低,还未在量产车型上得到应用。DLP方案也被逐渐应用在一些高端车型当中,技术成熟度也比较高。
数字投影大灯在感知、照明效果、信息交互和安全性等方面具有较大优势,符合汽车大灯智能化的发展趋势,具有广阔的应用前景。数字投影大灯存在3种技术方案,各具特点和局限性。目前,汽车市场上应用较多的是DLP方案,但主要集中于高端车型。而LCD方案虽然技术相对成熟,但其依赖的偏光片及液晶显示屏存在较大的传输损耗,使得系统的光学效率大幅降低。而且从原理层面看,其效率提升潜力有限。此外,液晶显示屏在长时间高温工作情况下会导致寿命衰减以及各项参数变化,液晶显示屏需厂家特殊定制。因此,LCD方案要广泛应用具有较大的难度。未来,DLP和Micro-LED方案会成为数字投影大灯的主流。如图7所示,为了更广泛地应用到量产车型上,数字投影大灯还需要在以下4个方向发展突破。
由于数字投影大灯成本较高,其主要搭载于高端车型中。为了将数字投影大灯应用到更多中低端车型中,厂家需研发更多像素级别(从万级到百万级)的产品,丰富数字投影大灯的价格区间,以适配不同价位的车型。
DLP大灯的高成本主要源于前期技术研发投入较大,导致其市场价格偏高。然而,随着相关技术的持续进步,大灯的成本将呈现下降趋势,未来有望使价格更贴近中低端市场。目前,拥有核心器件DMD芯片的生产高度集中于TI公司,具有DLP大灯和Micro-LED大灯技术也的车灯制造商较少。未来,将有更多厂家加入竞争,数字投影大灯价格有望进一步降低。
目前,数字投影大灯中DLP方案包括散热系统、聚光系统、DMD芯片和投影系统,其结构复杂、体积较大,且光学效率较低。因此,未来需对光学系统进行优化,减少光学元件的数量(DLP方案投影系统的透镜数量已经从6元降到2元),在降低成本的同时也能使数字投影大灯的结构更加紧凑,为汽车造型设计提供更多自由度。在光学效率提高方面,更好的元件和更优的方案会不断被发掘,应用到数字投影大灯中。
现在搭载量产车型的数字投影大灯已经能提供防眩目以及在路面上投影高清光学符号等功能,旨在提高驾驶安全,增进人车与车车之间的信息交互。
