This paper proposes a fuzzy PID control strategy with start-stop function for the direct battery cooling systems of electric vehicle. A whole vehicle model is developed using AMESim and Simulink co-simulation, to simulate the battery heat dissipation process under different control strategies. The results indicate that compared with traditional PID control, the start-stop fuzzy PID control has advantages including faster response time, shorter overshoot duration and lower system power consumption. Furthermore, the effect of shortened overshoot duration and power consumption savings is more pronounced in scenarios with higher ambient temperatures or lower driving speeds.

针对电动汽车直冷系统,提出了一种具有启停功能的模糊PID控制策略,并利用AMESim和Simulink搭建了联合仿真整车模型,对电池在不同控制策略下的散热过程进行了模拟,结果表明:相比传统PID控制,启停-模糊PID控制具有响应时间快、超调时长短和系统功耗低的优点,且对环境温度较高或行车速度较低情况下的超调时长缩短和功耗节省效果更为明显。

针对电动汽车直冷系统,提出了一种具有启停功能的模糊PID控制策略,并利用AMESim和Simulink搭建了联合仿真整车模型,对电池在不同控制策略下的散热过程进行了模拟,结果表明:相比传统PID控制,启停-模糊PID控制具有响应时间快、超调时长短和系统功耗低的优点,且对环境温度较高或行车速度较低情况下的超调时长缩短和功耗节省效果更为明显。

This paper proposes a fuzzy PID control strategy with start-stop function for the direct battery cooling systems of electric vehicle. A whole vehicle model is developed using AMESim and Simulink co-simulation, to simulate the battery heat dissipation process under different control strategies. The results indicate that compared with traditional PID control, the start-stop fuzzy PID control has advantages including faster response time, shorter overshoot duration and lower system power consumption. Furthermore, the effect of shortened overshoot duration and power consumption savings is more pronounced in scenarios with higher ambient temperatures or lower driving speeds.

动力电池温度过高会对其寿命和容量产生重要影响,甚至引发安全事故[1]。因此,设计高效电池散热系统可使其在适宜温度下工作,显著提升电池性能和寿命[2]。当前,动力电池冷却方式主要有空冷、液冷、直冷、相变材料冷却等[3-4]。其中,直冷系统因其散热效率高、均温性好等优点,逐渐成为最具前景的动力电池冷却方案[5]
目前,国内外学者已对动力电池直冷系统开展了一定研究。杨世春等[6]提出混合制冷剂可在保持合适温度窗口的同时提高散热性能。Tang等[7]研究了直冷板布置形式和流道参数对冷却性能的影响,确定冷媒蒸发温度的边界。然而,现有研究多集中在系统部件优化,对其控制研究较少。研究表明,控制策略对电池散热性能及系统功耗均有重要影响[8],因此开展电池直冷系统控制策略的研究对提高其冷却性能具有重要意义。
当前,国内外对控制策略已有诸多研究。张文俊等[9]采用逻辑门限值法实现对电池组最高温度和电芯间最大温差的有效控制,但逻辑控制功能较为有限。林必超等[10]提出一种动态温度PID算法控制电池温度。然而,PID控制属于单反馈控制,无法综合考虑多个温度反馈信号[11],同时还存在响应时间慢、温度超调等问题[12]。Chen等[13]提出一种神经网络控制方法,实现对电池性能的动态控制,但该方法存在计算复杂等问题。相较而言,逻辑和PID控制仍是常用方法[14]。同时,模糊PID控制易实现,对非线性和时变性的系统具有较好的控制效果[15],使其实际应用逐渐增多。
综上,本文以直冷系统为研究对象,基于AMESim平台搭建电池直冷系统一维热模型,并联合Simulink建立控制策略。基于启停和模糊PID控制策略,设计出启停-模糊PID控制方法,并与传统PID控制方法比较。
图1所示为电动汽车动力电池直冷系统。在直冷系统工作时,制冷剂在压缩机中被压缩后进入冷凝器,在冷凝器中液化放热,经膨胀阀节流降压后,进入电池蒸发器,通过制冷剂蒸发相变与电池组进行热交换而实现电池冷却,最后通过储液罐进行气液分离后进入压缩机,完成一个工作循环。本文主要研究动力电池直冷系统部分,不考虑空调蒸发器部分。
图1可以看出,上述直冷系统的耗功元件主要为压缩机,其功耗计算公式如下:

本文对冷凝器中制冷剂的流动和换热简化为离散微元(空气/壁面、壁面和翅片以及制冷剂/壁面)进行建模。制冷剂与换热器壁面之间的单元对流换热量可表示为:

根据式(12),电池热量来源于3个部分,即欧姆热、极化热和熵变热。
动力电池开路电压是温度和电池荷电状态的函数,按照温度进行一阶泰勒级数展开后可表示为:

传统PID控制主要适用于单输入-单输出问题,对于具有时变性和迟滞性的动力电池冷却系统,在控制过程中存在响应时间慢、温度超调及能耗较高等问题[17]。为克服上述缺点,本文对传统PID控制方法进行改进,并对其控制效果与传统PID进行对比分析。
传统PID控制方法的工作原理如图2所示。
在传统PID控制系统中,将t时刻温度传感器测得的电池组实际温度y(t)与设定温度x(t)之间的误差e(t)输入到PID控制器中,求得当前对应状态下PID控制器的输出值u(t):

式中:KpKiKd分别为PID控制器的比例系数、积分系数和微分系数。
模糊PID相较于传统PID控制,增加了模糊推理的过程,其以当前值与目标设定值的偏差E和偏差变化率EC作为输入量,通过模糊规则对PID控制器参数进行动态调整,可实现PID参数的自适应调整,加快系统响应,控制原理如图3所示。
本文以EEC作为输入量,定义EEC、ΔKp、ΔKi和ΔKd的论域分别为[-8,8]、[-0.1,0.1]、[-0.6,0.6]、[-0.001,0.001]和[-0.005,0.005]。将输入、输出的模糊论域划分为7个模糊子集{NB(负大)、NM(负中)、NS(负小)、Z(零)、PS(正小)、PM(正中)、PB(正大)},进一步对式(15)中的控制参数进行修正,修正后的参数为:

式中:KpKiKd为校正后的参数,Kp1Ki1Kd1为初始参数,ΔKp、ΔKi、ΔKd为校正参数。
建立模糊控制规则:当偏差较大时,需要增大ΔKp和减小ΔKi,以便加快系统响应,避免超调,使动力电池温度快速达到目标温度,使用中等的ΔKd避免导数饱和;当偏差较小时,应减小ΔKp和增大ΔKi,保证系统稳定性,提高系统的抗干扰性能。基于以上模糊控制规则,设计ΔKp、ΔKi和ΔKd模糊规则如表1所式。
模糊PID相较传统PID在控制过程中虽加快了温度响应时间,减少了超调现象,但仍会出现温度超调现象,造成功耗的浪费。因此,设计一种具有启停功能的PID控制策略,在电池到达目标温度时关闭压缩机,超过工作温度上限再开启压缩机,从而避免PID控制下连续温度超调,其控制逻辑为:

式中:Noutput为PID输出控制信号;Tc为电池组实际温度;Tw为目标温度,本文设定为32 ℃。
当电池组实际温度大于等于Tw时,PID输出信号为Nset;当电池组实际温度小于Tw时,PID输出信号为0。
结合上述启停控制节省功耗及模糊控制温度响应快的优点,设计含有启停逻辑功能的模糊PID控制方法,其流程如图4所示。
在前述模型中,压缩机和冷凝器模型在AMEsim中已有相对成熟的模块,本文仅针对电池模型进行验证。在AMESim中搭建的动力电池直冷系统一维热仿真模型如图5所示,主要包括压缩机调节模块、电池冷却模型、动力总成模块、控制策略模块和材料参数模块。
本文直冷系统主要参数如表2所示[18],制冷剂选用R134a。
基于式(12)~式(14),在AMESim中构建动力电池集总参数模型,并利用电池充放电试验数据对模型进行验证。电池充放电试验平台如图6所示。设置环境温度为25 ℃,分别进行0.3 C、1 C和2 C放电试验,电池温度利用布置在其外表面中心位置的热电阻进行测量。电池在放电过程中温度和电压的仿真与试验结果如图7所示。经计算,电池在0.3 C、1 C和2 C放电过程中,其模拟温升和模拟电压绝对误差的平均值分别为0.18 ℃、0.13 ℃、0.25 ℃和0.018 V、0.021 V、0.017 V。引起上述误差的原因可能包括以下两点:一是为减少计算量,本文对电池模型进行了一维简化,未考虑电池几何空间上的参数分布特性;二是模型参数参考了相关文献中的数值,与电池实际参数可能存在一定误差。尽管如此,上述仿真结果仍与试验结果具有较好的一致性,可以用于动力电池直冷系统的评价分析。
本文控制策略目标温度为32 ℃,为方便比较,选定温度32.1 ℃为控制策略完成温度调节目标值。其中,动力电池组由3.1中所述电池组成,成组方式为90串1并,额定容量为26 A·h,电压为342 V,电池初始温度均设置为环境温度。为验证以上控制策略在实际行驶工况下的控制效果,拟定控制策略在世界轻型汽车测试循环工况(World Light Vehicle Test Cycle,WLTC)下运行,包括低速、中速、高速和超高速四个阶段,每个阶段均设置停车、制动、加速等不同的行车动作,可以较好反映车辆性能,如图8所示。
为验证上述控制策略在不同环境温度下的电池冷却效果,分别设定环境工况为40 ℃(工况1)、45 ℃(工况2)和35 ℃(工况3),在WLTC工况下进行放电试验。
图9为动力电池在不同环境温度下控制策略对比图。从图9a中可以看出,传统PID与启停PID、模糊PID与启停-模糊PID在未达到目标温度前,温度曲线一致,在达到目标温度后,由于启停逻辑的控制,温度曲线出现分支。表3为上述不同环境温度下不同控制策略的冷却效果对比结果。根据表3,传统PID和模糊PID的温度响应时间分别为124 s和106 s,模糊PID响应时间比传统PID快14.5%。模糊PID超调时长相较传统PID减少40.9%,两种控制方法的功耗基本相同。由此可见,相比传统PID控制,模糊PID控制在不增加系统功耗的情况下可显著缩短系统响应时间和超调时长。尽管如此,模糊PID仍存在与传统PID控制相同的温度连续超调及功耗较大的问题。为缓解该问题,进一步考虑了系统的启停控制。该方法在电池温度发生超调后,通过启停控制逻辑使压缩机关闭;当电池温度高于目标温度时,压缩机重启。由图9b可以看出,在含有启停功能的PID控制方法下,压缩机出现启停现象,从而引起电池温度在目标温度值附近波动,但能有效减少连续超调造成的功耗浪费。经计算,传统PID控制在增加启停功能后功耗减少9.8%;模糊PID控制在增加启停功能后功耗减少5.9%。由表3可看出,启停-模糊PID保留了模糊PID响应时间快及超调时长短的特点,其相较于传统PID控制,响应时间提升14.5%,超调减少57.1%,功耗减少5.9%。
图9c可知,启停-模糊PID控制相比传统PID控制方法,可使电池温度更好地在目标温度附近波动,从而给缩短超调时长;由图9d可知,启停-模糊PID控制下的电池温度相较传统PID可以更快到达响应温度,加快响应时间。由表4可知,随着环境温度的降低,启停-模糊控制方法下的响应时间缩短、超调时长和功耗均有减少,这是由于PID控制根据电池起始温度与目标温度的差值进行控制,当环境温度较高时,其与目标温度差值较大,导致PID输出的控制量较大,因此制冷系统产生的制冷量较大,电池温度更容易发生过量超调,压缩机功耗随之增大;与此同时,启停-模糊控制对传统PID控制超调时长和功耗的优化效果随温度的下降呈先增后减的趋势。引起这一现象的原因可能这环境温度越高导致PID积分环节较大,使得制冷量较大,在温度曲线回调后,又很快发生超调,随着温度降低,这一影响逐渐减小,因而启停-模糊控制对传统PID控制的优化呈增强趋势;但随着温度的进一步降低,整体超调减少,启停-模糊控制对传统PID控制的优化因而又呈下降趋势。当环境温度从45 ℃降低到35 ℃时,启停-模糊PID控制的响应时间从156 s缩短到52 s,超调时长从1 087 s缩短至78 s。在35 ℃、40 ℃和45 ℃的环境温度下,启停-模糊PID控制相比传统PID控制,超调时长分别缩短了3.7%、57.1%和24.8%,功耗分别降低了0.8%、5.9%和19.1%。
为验证在不同行驶速度下上述控制策略对电池冷却效果的影响规律,本文设定40 ℃以WLTC的功率行驶1 000 s的放电过程为工况5,将WLTC实际行驶车速提高一倍,设为WLTC-A。同理,将WLTC实际行驶车速减小50%,设为WLTC-B,同样在40 ℃行驶1 000 s,对应的放电过程分别为工况4(WLTC-A)和工况6(WLTC-B)。
图10为电池在工况4和工况6下运行时,启停-模糊PID控制和传统PID控制策略下的电池温度对比结果。对比图9a图10可知,随着实际行驶车速的减小,电池温度曲线逐渐趋于平缓,且在工况6下,温度曲线超调时长最长。表4为不同车速下启停-模糊PID控制和传统PID控制的冷却效果对比。由表5可以看出,随着行驶车速减小,超调时长增加,功耗减少,且启停-模糊PID控制对传统PID控制的优化效果越发明显。这是由于,在同一控制下,低车速下电池产热量小于高车速下产热量,因此,低车速更容易发生过量超调。在工况4下,传统PID响应时间较快,主要原因是,本文设置的响应温度为32.1 ℃,在第113 s前,工况4温度均比其余两种工况(工况5和工况6)温度高,但此刻其余两种工况温度未达到响应温度,且由于工况4较其余两种工况更恶劣,此时PID基于温度差值的控制量大于其余两种工况,因此在电池冷却循环中产生冷媒的温度低于其余两种工况,当汽车在第101 s停止时,其温度下降速度快于其余两种工况,并在第113 s温度低于其余两种工况,致使温度更早到达响应温度。启停-模糊控制相较传统PID的效果随着车速的降低,响应时间加快由6.0%提升到14.5%、超调时长缩短由30.1%提升到75.5%、功耗节省量由0.4%提升到4.7%。
本文基于PID控制和模糊逻辑控制设计了一种面向电动汽车动力电池制冷剂直冷系统的控制策略,并考虑的系统启停功能。随后,通过AMESim/Simulink联合仿真建立了整车动力电池热管理系统模型,进而研究了所提出的启停-模糊PID控制和传统PID控制在不同环境温度和汽车行驶速度下的电池冷却效果,结果表明:与传统PID控制相比,启停-模糊PID控制具有响应时间快、超调时间短及功耗小的优点。动力电池在较低环境温度下放电时,启停-模糊PID控制对响应时间的优化效果最好,在工况3下其响应时间仅为传统PID响应时间的16.9%;在较低车速条件下放电时,启停-模糊PID控制对超调时长的优化效果最明显,在工况6下其超调时长仅为传统PID超调时长的24.6%;在较高环境温度下放电时,启停-模糊PID控制对功耗优化最明显,在工况2下为其功耗仅为传统PID功耗的80.9%。
