In order to enhance the efficiency of the Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB) test scenarios for passenger cars, this study utilizes 183 highway accidents data from China In-Depth Accident Study (CIDAS) database to explore the construction of highway-based AEB testing scenarios. Static and dynamic factors are extracted from CIDAS database as clustering variables, and a K-means clustering approach is employed to perform a preliminary classification of the selected accidents. Based on the clustering results, 5 representative accident types are identified. Based on the identified typical accident scenarios, and with reference to existing evaluation standards, 5 highway test scenarios for passenger car AEB systems are developed. The findings of this study contribute to the development and performance optimization of AEB system.

为了提升乘用车自动紧急制动系统(AEB)测试场景的效能,基于中国交通事故深度研究(CIDAS)数据库中183起交通事故案例,探究高速公路AEB系统测试场景构建。从CIDAS数据库中选取静态与动态因素作为聚类参数,使用K均值聚类方法对事故数据进行初步分类,根据聚类结果得到了5类典型事故场景,在此基础上参考现有测评标准,设计了5类乘用车AEB系统的高速公路测试场景,为AEB系统的开发与优化提供参考。

In order to enhance the efficiency of the Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEB) test scenarios for passenger cars, this study utilizes 183 highway accidents data from China In-Depth Accident Study (CIDAS) database to explore the construction of highway-based AEB testing scenarios. Static and dynamic factors are extracted from CIDAS database as clustering variables, and a K-means clustering approach is employed to perform a preliminary classification of the selected accidents. Based on the clustering results, 5 representative accident types are identified. Based on the identified typical accident scenarios, and with reference to existing evaluation standards, 5 highway test scenarios for passenger car AEB systems are developed. The findings of this study contribute to the development and performance optimization of AEB system.

自动紧急制动系统(Autonomous Emergency Braking,AEB)作为驾驶辅助系统的一项主动安全技术,能够通过预警和自动制动降低事故发生风险[1]。据欧盟新车安全评鉴协会(European New Car Assessment Program,E-NCAP)统计,车辆配备AEB系统可避免27%的追尾事故[2]。2024年,《轻型汽车自动紧急制动系统技术要求及试验方法》起草意见,将AEB系统从现行的推荐性国家标准上升为强制性国家标准[3],AEB系统的测试与评估备受关注,基于场景的测试方法已得到广泛的研究与应用[4]
通过挖掘事故数据中危险工况的关键特征,构建测试场景,可直接验证AEB系统在应对危险工况时的有效性。Nitsche等[5]基于英国交通事故数据进行K-medoids聚类分析,提取13类T形路口和6类十字路口事故场景。Sander等[6]分析德国深度调查交通事故数据,根据不同事故类型提取了德国的AEB系统路口测试场景。
不同国家和地区的交通参与者类型、事故类型和典型场景存在明显差异[7],针对国内交通环境,廖静倩等[8]根据特定路段使用国家车辆事故深度调查体系(National Automobile accident in-depth Investigation System,NAIS),对路口机动车碰撞事故采用层次聚类法和运动学分析建模,得到3类丁字路口转弯危险场景下的危险碰撞域。根据事故类型,胡林等[9]基于中国交通事故深入研究(China In-Depth Accident Study,CIDAS)数据库中两轮车碰撞事故案例,使用聚类分析方法获得6类典型事故场景的测试场景。
由于现有研究鲜有提及高速公路场景下乘用车AEB系统的测试场景构建,本文基于CIDAS数据库中高速公路场景下乘用车碰撞其他参与方的事故数据,选择K-means聚类算法对事故数据进行初步分类,结合现有测评标准,构建该场景下乘用车AEB典型测试场景。
本文使用由中国汽车研究中心联合相关企业构建的CIDAS数据库,该数据库中每起事故案例通过约3 000个字段描述,主要包括事故现场信息、多种车型的车辆损坏信息和人员伤害信息,调查时间覆盖全天24小时,调查地区分布于东北、华中、西南等,覆盖平原、丘陵、盆地和高原等地形特征,涵盖城市道路、高速公路、乡村道路、山区道路等道路类型。
为了满足研究需要,通过道路分类字段筛选出高速公路场景下的事故案例,逐步剔除因无法判断车辆行驶状态的事故案例、商用车撞击乘用车或行人等的事故案例、车辆主动爆胎引发的事故和单方事故案例,最终得到183起高速公路乘用车与其他参与方碰撞的事故案例。
车辆AEB系统通过传感器检测前方道路信息,其性能极易受天气条件、目标尺寸等因素的影响。为了测试车辆的AEB系统效能,测试场景中变量的选取应符合AEB的工作原理和工作条件。根据文献[10]~文献[14],结合实际交通情况,AEB测试场景的特征要素分类如图1所示。
本文的聚类变量根据CIDAS中事故描述字段筛选,静态因素选取天气、事故现场道路环境、光照条件、路况等因素;动态因素选取事故的参与方类型和首次碰撞中参与方(A和B)发生碰撞前的运动轨迹、碰撞部位、横向运动状态。由于CIDAS对与光照条件未进行具体数值描述,所以本文将事故现场有/无路灯和时段组合为光照条件描述字段。为了进一步描述事故场景,在人工筛选后的案例中增加参与方相对运动的描述字段,其中,在参与方B的横向状态中,“其他”项为行人的横向运动状态。考虑到速度为连续变量,聚类中进行离散处理会导致数据分布特征丢失,所以本文未将速度划分为聚类变量。
使用SPSS(Statistical Product and Service Solutions)软件中K-means聚类对典型场景进行初步提取,通过欧式距离评估数据对象间相似度:

式中:X为样本点,Y为聚类中心,Xi,m为第i个样本中第m个变量值,为Yj,m为第j类聚类中心在第m个变量值,n为数据特征的总量。
通过K-means算法计算聚类中心为:

式中:Cj为第j类样本点的数量。
在聚类分析时,所有变量均需转换为数值形式。变量可分为连续变量和名义尺度变量,其中,连续变量表示数量或程度,例如车速、事故严重程度等;名义尺度变量具有多种类别且各类别间为离散变量,例如天气、参与方的类型等。
当名义尺度变量的类别数量大于2时,应避免离散类别间产生不合理的距离关系。例如,连续数字1、2、3对变量ABC进行编码,会导致变量A与变量B的距离为1,变量A与变量C的距离为2,实际中这些变量间并没有此类程度关系,所以此时不能直接使用连续数值进行编码,需要采取独立编码,变量转换方法如表1所示。
在K-means聚类中,可采用肘部准则(Elbow Method)确认最佳聚类数K。该方法采用簇内误差平方和(Sum of Squared Errors,SSE)计算所有样本的聚类误差,通过绘制SSE-K关系曲线(见图2),选取曲线的肘部位置对应的K值为最佳聚类数量,SSE可作为判断聚类结果的依据[15]

式中: X - Y j为样本X与聚类中心Y的距离。
图2可知,当K=4时,曲线下降趋势变缓,形似肘部;当K=8时,曲线出现明显拐点。考虑到当K>5时,聚类结果中会出现占比低于5%的场景,所以文本使用K=5。
聚类完成后,5类场景的相关参数分布情况如表2所示,其中,平直道路和干燥路面是所有场景的典型特征;第1类场景包含的案例数量最多,第3类场景包含的案例数量最少;在第2类和第4类场景中,光照条件为白天/夜晚的数量是相近;在第5类场景中,参与方A的碰撞部位为右部和后部的数量相近,其他变量的类别数量差异显著。
针对表2中各变量的参数,优先选择占比最高的参数作为该场景的代表性特征,若次高值与最高值的数值绝对差值不超过1,两者均可使用。基于上述原则,对聚类结果中5类场景的参数进行提取(见表3),得到高速公路场景下乘用车碰撞其他参与方的典型事故场景。
通过调整经聚类分析后的典型事故场景,将其转化为AEB系统的测试场景,所以本文参照现有测评标准,对初步分类的事故场景进行分析:
a. 第1类场景为晴天,在白天平直干燥的道路上乘用车追尾货车。如图3a所示,该场景与E-NCAP中乘用车与乘用车跟车场景[16](Car-to-Car Rear moving,CCRm)相似,考虑了重叠率,但前车的类型不同,且该场景车速可能高于CCRm场景的测试车速。
b. 第2类场景为晴天,白天或夜晚平直干燥的道路上乘用车碰撞横穿行人。如图3b所示,第2类场景与E-NCAP中乘用车与远端行人场景[17](Car-to-Pedestrian Far side Adult,CPFA-50)相似,该场景中行人与乘用车的相对运动方向垂直,预碰撞点为乘用车前部50%位置,光照条件包含白天和夜晚。如表3所示,第2类场景的光照条件与CPFA-50场景一致,但该场景中乘用车的速度会高于CPFA-50场景中车速(10~60 km/h),且乘用车与行人间无确切的碰撞点和相对运动方向。
c. 第3类场景为阴天,平直干燥的道路上乘用车追尾乘用车,该场景与第1类场景相似,但前车的类型不同。
d. 第4类场景为晴天,白天或夜晚平直干燥的道路上乘用车追尾静止的乘用车。如图3c所示,该场景与E-NCAP中的乘用车与静止乘用车场景(Car-to-Car Rear stationary,CCRs)相似,CCRs场景的范围为左侧50%至右侧50%,增量的重叠率为25%。第4类场景中后车车速可能会高于CCRs场景(10~50 km/h)。
e. 如表3所示,第5类场景为乘用车向右变道/偏移时,车辆右侧/后部与后方货车前部发生碰撞。在E-NCAP和C-NCAP中无此类AEB系统测试场景,但在E-NCAP针对货车或C-NCAP针对乘用车的紧急车道保持(Emergency Lane Keeping,ELK)测试中可以找到相似场景[18],如图4所示。
针对货车的ELK测试场景中,货车与乘用车保持相同车速;而针对乘用车的ELK测试场景中,测试方的速度低于目标方速度。第5类场景中参与方A乘用车的碰撞部位为右侧与后部,参与方B货车的碰撞部位为前部。
基于上述分析,对测试场景进行调整。通过查看第1类场景的事故数据发现,乘用车的平均宽度为货车的76.27%,碰撞点大致分布在乘用车前部右侧与货车后部左侧间,重叠率为88.93%,所以场景1暂不考虑对重叠率划分,此时定义参与方A为测试方,参与方B为目标方。
在第2类场景中,聚类结果中白天与夜晚的数量相同。将事故受伤与死亡人数作为评估事故严重程度指标,发现第2类场景在白天和夜晚的事故死亡和受伤人数无显著区别[19]。考虑到AEB系统会受到夜晚光照条件影响,所以未对第2类场景的白天和夜晚进行区分。
同时,行人与乘用车的碰撞点分布在乘用车前部中轴线两侧,且未达到中轴线两侧25%位置。由于现有测评标准中,包含行人横穿的测试场景中行人与乘用车的运动路径均为垂直,所以本文将场景2中参与方的相对运动方向设置为垂直,预碰撞点为车辆前部50%位置,并定义参与方A为测试方,参与方B为目标方。
第3类场景与第1类场景相似,因此参考E-NCAP的乘用车间跟车,前车制动场景(Car-to-Car Rear braking,CCRb)对第3类场景进行调整,如图5所示。第3类场景事故场景中,前车的碰撞速度与初始速度的差值中位数和平均值分别为20 km/h和21.76 km/h。考虑到高速公路场景中车辆制动至静止的情况较少,所以第3类场景的前车参考CCRb中目标方的减速度(-6 m/s2),速度减少量为20 km/h,此时定义参与方A为测试方,参与方B为目标方。
在第4类场景中,聚类结果显示白天的场景数量仅比夜晚多1例,且白天与夜晚的事故受伤人数相近,但夜晚事故的死亡人数是白天的2.67倍。因此,该场景中光照条件需设置为白天或夜晚。由于高速公路中静止车辆多位于道路最右侧的紧急停车带,所以可将第4类场景的重叠率设置为100%~右50%,步长为25%,并定义参与方A为测试方,参与方B为目标方。
由第5类场景的事故记录表明,该场景中乘用车因错过高速公路出口、避让前方或忽视后方车辆的速度而强行变道,最终与右后方车辆发生碰撞。乘用车碰撞部位为右侧和后部的数量相近,且乘用车首次碰撞的受力方向主要来自03~06方向(见图6),因此,将乘用车碰撞部位调整为右侧后部(右侧与后部相接处)[20]
结合AEB系统功能,鉴于第5类场景的参与方B中乘用车占比达到42.3%,本文设定参与方A为目标方,并根据研究需求,将参与方B调整为乘用车,属于测试方。AEB测试场景中包含参与方的运动状态和速度,根据聚类结果提取对应场景中各参与方的初始速度作为测试速度,其分布如图7所示。为了构造具有代表性的测试场景,将各场景中参与方的速度中位数作为该类场景的测试速度[21-22]。在提取速度时发现,在第2、4类场景中,无论是白天还是夜晚,参与方A和参与方B的速度无明显差异,因此,后文未对第2、4类场景进行细分。
因此,本文构建的高速公路场景下5类乘用车AEB系统测试场景,如表4所示。其中,5类事故场景分别为:晴朗白天,平直干燥道路上乘用车追尾货车;白天或夜晚,平直干燥道路上乘用车碰撞横穿行人;晴朗白天,平直干燥路面乘用车追尾突然制动的乘用车;白天或夜晚阴天,平直干燥道路上乘用车追尾静止乘用车;晴朗白天,平直干燥道路上乘用车直线行驶时,与左前方向右变道的乘用车碰撞场景。
本文基于CIDAS数据库的高速公路事故数据,筛选出天气条件、光照条件、参与方碰撞前的运动状态等事故因素还原高速公路乘用车交通事故场景,通过K-means聚类对事故数据进行初步分类。根据聚类结果获得基于高速公路场景的乘用车事故场景,参考现有测评标准并结合实际情况,构建了5类高速公路场景下乘用车AEB测试场景,为完善AEB系统的测试场景提供了技术支撑。
