Considering the application trend of lightweight car body design and the demands for cost reduction, this paper selects metal, CFRP, PC/ABS, PC/PET, PC/PBT, PBT-GF30 as examples, and applies and studies the basic physical properties of sealants and the performance of adhesive strength, substrate matching, aging (thermal aging, damp heat aging, high and low temperature alternation, water resistance, low temperature resistance). The results show that the selected sealant can meet the design requirements except for the poor matching for some plastic substrates (PBT-GF30) at a low temperature of -40 °C. By introducing surface treatment methods such as grinding and plasma, the problem of poor matching of PBT-GF30 in -40 ℃ is solved. Therefore, this paper develops a sealant and process that can adapt to the use of multiple substrates, which can be used in the vehicle design and production.

为应对车体设计轻量化应用趋势及降本需求,以钣金、碳纤维复合材料(CFRP)、PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT、PBT-GF30等金属、复合材料、塑料为例,针对聚氨酯体系密封胶基础物性及应对多材质粘接的连接强度、基材匹配性、老化(热老化、湿热老化、高低温交变、耐水性、耐低温性)等方面开展了应用研究。结果表明,选定的体系密封胶除-40 ℃低温下针对部分塑料(PBT-GF30)粘接的基材匹配性不良外,其他基材及性能均可满足设计要求。通过引入打磨、等离子等表面处理手段,解决了PBT-GF30低温匹配不良问题,验证了一种聚氨酯体系的密封胶能够适应多材质粘接密封的可行性及选型思路,可以进行整车选型搭载。

Considering the application trend of lightweight car body design and the demands for cost reduction, this paper selects metal, CFRP, PC/ABS, PC/PET, PC/PBT, PBT-GF30 as examples, and applies and studies the basic physical properties of sealants and the performance of adhesive strength, substrate matching, aging (thermal aging, damp heat aging, high and low temperature alternation, water resistance, low temperature resistance). The results show that the selected sealant can meet the design requirements except for the poor matching for some plastic substrates (PBT-GF30) at a low temperature of -40 °C. By introducing surface treatment methods such as grinding and plasma, the problem of poor matching of PBT-GF30 in -40 ℃ is solved. Therefore, this paper develops a sealant and process that can adapt to the use of multiple substrates, which can be used in the vehicle design and production.

在汽车新四化及低碳发展的趋势下,行业对汽车轻量化提出了更高的需求[1]。在轻量化应用的过程中,异种材料的连接存在大量的用胶需求[3],如结构连接、密封、减振及避免电化学腐蚀等。
汽车胶粘连接设计、胶粘剂选型开发过程中,连接强度、耐久可靠性及生产经济性都十分重要[4]。在轻量化设计中,若对每种材料均开发针对性的胶粘剂,将会给产线引入过多品类胶粘剂,造成设备、管理、试验等多方面的浪费。因此产线对开发适应多材质粘接的胶粘剂提出了迫切的需求。
为了研究适应多材质粘接的密封胶,从多材质特性、接头强度要求、服役环境、工艺要求等多方面进行分析,首先对胶粘剂体系进行选定,并选择2款该体系的牌号进行应用验证,对其多材质的粘接适用性进行评估。多材质粘接需要考虑不同材质的表面能差异、热膨胀系数(Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, CTE)引发应力对粘接的影响、粘接塑料等材质时固化温度等因素。因此,在匹配CTE差异较大的基材且需具备常温固化特性时,较低模量、较大延伸率的常温固化体系胶粘剂成为首选。在汽车行业中,中低模量的聚氨酯体系胶粘剂应用广泛,如玻璃胶、常温固化减振胶、车身密封胶等。研究表明,聚氨酯体系胶粘剂具有非常良好的基材适应性[5]
汽车用材选型开发应在“性能满足而不过度冗余”的前提下以经济性最优原则进行。验证2种聚氨酯体系胶粘剂用于汽车多材质(金属、塑料、复合材料等主要轻材料)粘接的可行性及选型思路,特别在应对小批量新结构粘接密封的车型时,适应多材质粘接的密封胶能够较为显著地提升其应用经济性。
使用的试验原料包括:异丙醇(Isopropanol, IPA),阿拉丁试剂(上海)有限公司;电泳钢板,自制;PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT、PBT-GF30、CFRP(其中PC为聚碳酸酯,ABS为丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯,PET为聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯,PBT为聚对苯二甲酸丁二醇酯,GF30指代塑料填充玻纤份数为30份), 密封胶#1、密封胶#2,#50达因笔,市售。
使用的试验仪器包括:万能材料试验机,美特斯工业系统(中国)有限公司;可程式高低温交变湿热试验箱,日本岛津;超级恒温槽,广州宏测电子科技有限公司。
测试基材为电泳钢板、PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT、PBT-GF30、CFRP,其中电泳钢板、PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT、PBT-GF30、CFRP剪切试验样片尺寸为100 mm×25 mm×2 mm,手拉试验样片尺寸为100 mm×75 mm×2 mm。
样品制备前,使用IPA进行表面擦拭清洁并干燥,然后刷涂配套底涂并干燥,制备剪切强度试样如图1所示,搭接长度为(25.0±0.05) mm,宽度为(12.5±0.05) mm,厚度为(2±0.2) mm。样品制备完成后,在室温下固化168 h(需进行打磨与等离子表面处理,按照一定工艺在清洁干燥前进行)。
密度按照GB/T 13354—1992 《液态胶粘剂密度的测定方法 重量杯法》测试,测试温度为(23±2) ℃。拉伸断裂强度和断裂伸长率按照GB/T 528—2009《硫化橡胶或热塑性橡胶 拉伸应力应变性能的测定》进行测试。剪切强度按照GB/T 7124—2008 《胶粘剂 拉伸剪切强度的测定(刚性材料对刚性材料)》测试,夹具移动速度为 50 mm/min。手拉试验参照GB 16776—2005 《建筑用硅酮结构密封胶》附录D中的D.1.2方法,手拉试验(非成品破坏法)测试,结果评价按照GB/T 16997—1997 《胶粘剂 主要破坏类型的表示法》进行。
通过剪切强度和手拉试验进行评估。本文基于以下条件对多材质粘接耐候性进行初步评估:
a.耐热老化:90 ℃试验箱168 h,室温24 h后试验;
b.耐湿热老化:50 ℃ 95%RH试验箱168 h,室温24 h后试验;
c.耐高低温交变:按照如图2所示程序进行5个周期,室温24 h后试验;
d.耐水性:40 ℃水浴 168 h, 室温24 h后试验;
e.低温强度(耐寒):-40 ℃试验箱3 h,取出后立即测试。
每个条件制备3个平行试样,试验结果取平均值。完整的胶粘耐候性评估应将老化试验持续更久时间,以满足汽车服役工况下的寿命要求。
胶粘剂基础物理性质测试主要用于材料质量管控,是快速评估胶粘剂是否存在显著质量问题的方法。胶粘剂基础物理性质主要包括外观、密度、硬度、拉伸断裂强度及断裂伸长率等,2种密封胶的基础物理性质如表1所示。
剪切强度试验的粘接搭接组合为漆面钣金与CFRP、塑料材质。如表2所示,密封胶#1与#2在各耐候条件下剪切强度均>4 MPa,满足设计要求。其中,在常态、耐热、耐寒和耐高低温交变等条件下,剪切强度均>5 MPa。然而在耐水及耐湿条件下,部分基材出现剪切强度<5 MPa的情况,主要因为在高湿条件下,水分子渗透进入聚氨酯本体内可能会出现增塑作用以及使酰胺键发生断裂,吸湿膨胀可能使粘接界面产生应力,在物理化学等综合作用下使强度降低。
整体趋势上,密封胶#2比#1的剪切强度稍高。由表1可知,密封胶#2具有更高的邵氏硬度及拉伸断裂强度,可推测其内聚强度比密封胶#1更高;在剪切强度测试过程中,由于破坏形式均为100CF,因此胶粘结构剪切强度主要取决于内聚力(测试剪切强度的结果与板材厚度、制样误差等均有一定关系),使得#2比#1具有更高的剪切强度。
密封胶一般通过手拉试验评估其基材匹配性,出现内聚破坏(Cohesive Failure, CF)及胶接处基材破坏(Cohesive Substrate Failure, CSF)均表明密封胶对粘接基材具有良好的匹配性。结果如表3所示,AF为界面破坏(Adhesion Failure,AF),标号前面数字代表面积占比,在常态下各基材均呈现100CF;各耐候条件下CFRP与漆面钣金均呈现100CF。
针对塑料基材,PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT在各耐候条件下均出现CF或CSF破坏类型,表明其粘接匹配良好。值得注意的是,塑料基材容易在粘接边缘处出现一定比例的CSF,如图3所示。
统计各基材、不同耐候条件下CF及CSF出现的概率发现,密封胶#2(31%)在手拉试验中出现CSF的机率比#1(11%)高。其原因推测是在耐候条件下,由于不同基材与胶粘剂材料的CTE及模量的差异较大,引起粘接边缘处塑料表面在界面应力作用下出现破坏。而对于硬度及本体强度更低的#1,其出现概率更低,可能的原因在于#1柔性比#2稍好,在吸纳应力、变形能力方面更具备优势。
对于塑料基材PBT-GF30,除耐寒条件下的试验粘接不良外,其他耐候条件均出现CF/CSF破坏类型。在耐寒条件下,密封胶#1和#2均出现了界面剥离现象,如图4。密封胶#1的测试结果为100AF;#2的结果为95AF+5CF。一般认为手拉试验出现界面剥离是一种粘接不良的表现,存在粘接失效风险。
从机理分析,出现CF与AF主要取决于界面粘接力与胶粘剂本体内聚力的竞争,当内聚力远大于界面力时,才可能出现100AF结果[6]。-40 ℃条件下,密封胶从橡胶态向玻璃态转变,胶条内聚强度明显上升;同时,低温下基材与胶粘剂CTE的差异以及胶粘剂分子链松弛速度降低提升了粘接界面的应力水平[7]。另外,基材表面能过低、存在油污、表面弱界面层等外部因素也会降低界面粘接力。
基于上述原理,要解决低温下粘接界面剥离的问题,有2个方向可以考虑:(1)更换玻璃化转变温度Tg更低的密封胶材料,从而使胶粘剂在-40 ℃下分子链松弛速度仍可以保持较高水平,可以较为有效地降低界面应力[8];(2)从提升界面粘接力的角度考虑,通过一定的处理手段提升界面强度。相比PC/ABS、PC/PET、PC/PBT,PBT-GF30具有更低的表面能,属于更难粘接的材料,表面前/后处理是有效的改善手段[9]。降低Tg可能会影响胶粘剂在高温条件下的强度性能[10], 同时与减少胶种品类的初衷相违背。因此,首先考虑通过提升界面粘接力,对PBT-GF30材质表面加入表面处理。
打磨是一种简便的表面处理方式,也是验证表面处理是否有效最直接的方法。如图5a所示,使用#50达因笔划涂打磨前、后的PBT-GF30界面,未进行打磨的界面出现液滴收缩,表明其达因值<50 dyn;而打磨后墨水能够很好地润湿表面。已有研究表明,打磨前处理不仅可以提升界面润湿能力,还有利于增大胶接面积,使基材与胶粘剂形成较强的机械嵌合作用,从而提升界面粘接力[7]。如图5b所示,通过在基材上不同部位对比打磨及未打磨区域试验结果可知,未打磨区域30AF,而打磨区域试验结果为100CF。因此,打磨处理后,PBT-GF30基材在低温下手拉试验通过,解决了前述问题。此外,本文还验证了等离子前处理的有效性,如图5c所示,PBT-GF30在等离子处理后,手拉试验结果也为100CF。
结果表明,通过一定的表面处理工艺(打磨、等离子处理)后,密封胶在-40 ℃下可由界面破坏转变为内聚破坏,证明了前述理论分析的合理性及表面处理方案的有效性。通过增加表面前处理,特别是等离子等可规模化表面处理设备的工艺下,可以通过增加较少的成本来规避部分基材在特定条件下的粘接失效问题,这也是在开发适应多材质粘接胶粘剂时应对部分低表面能材质/难粘材质存在粘接不良时,可以考虑的解决路径。
利用单组分聚氨酯体系密封胶对PC/ABS、PBT-GF30等多种塑料、漆面钣金及复合材料CFRP均可实现良好粘接,说明该技术方案总体可行且具备较好的应用前景。针对部分基材在特定条件下出现的粘接不良的问题,可通过基材的表面处理来解决及实现匹配。从多材质适应性考虑,本选型粘接体系使用了底涂剂,能否开发免底涂的聚氨酯胶或其他体系的密封胶来实现多材质粘接也是值得研究的课题。
综上所述,需要根据产线品类、管理成本、工艺成本、材料成本、开发成本、规模性等综合估算及开展胶粘剂选型,保证满足设计性能的前提下依据成本与生产经济性最优的原则来开展多材质粘接胶粘剂选型。
