In order to improve quality and performance of battery material, and address the battery safety issue, the contents of nickel, cobalt and manganese elements in the cathode materials of ternary lithium batteries are accurately determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and the uncertainty in the measurement process is systematically evaluated according to the standard of JJF 1059.1—2012 “Evaluation and Representation of Measurement Uncertainty”. The uncertainty factors that may be introduced in each part of the test are deeply analyzed, and these uncertainties are carefully quantified and calculated. When the nickel content of the sample is 5.521 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Ni)=0.013 1 mg/kg. When the content of cobalt is 3.566 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Co)=0.011 8 mg/kg; when the manganese content is 2.102 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Mn)=0.013 1 mg/kg. Finally, the synthetic uncertainty of nickel is u(Ni)=0.006 6 mg/kg, the extended uncertainty of cobalt is u(Co)=0.005 9 mg/kg, and the extended uncertainty of manganese is u(Mn)=0.006 5 mg/kg.

为提升电池材料质量和性能,解决电池安全问题,利用电感耦合等离子体光谱法(ICP-OES)对三元锂电池正极材料中的镍、钴、锰元素含量进行了精确测定,依据JJF 1059.1—2012《测量不确定度评定与表示》,对测量过程中的不确定度进行了系统性评估,并深入剖析了试验各环节可能引入的不确定度因素,针对各种不确定度进行了细致的量化和计算。当镍含量为5.521 μg/mL时,其扩展不确定度U95(Ni)=0.013 1 mg/kg;当钴含量为3.566 μg/mL时,其扩展不确定度U95(Co)=0.011 8 mg/kg;当锰含量为2.102 μg/mL时,其扩展不确定度U95(Mn)=0.013 1 mg/kg。最终计算得出镍的合成不确定度u(Ni)=0.006 6 mg/kg,钴的合成不确定度u(Co)=0.005 9 mg/kg,锰的合成不确定度u(Mn)=0.006 5 mg/kg。

In order to improve quality and performance of battery material, and address the battery safety issue, the contents of nickel, cobalt and manganese elements in the cathode materials of ternary lithium batteries are accurately determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and the uncertainty in the measurement process is systematically evaluated according to the standard of JJF 1059.1—2012 “Evaluation and Representation of Measurement Uncertainty”. The uncertainty factors that may be introduced in each part of the test are deeply analyzed, and these uncertainties are carefully quantified and calculated. When the nickel content of the sample is 5.521 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Ni)=0.013 1 mg/kg. When the content of cobalt is 3.566 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Co)=0.011 8 mg/kg; when the manganese content is 2.102 μg/mL, the extended uncertainty is U95(Mn)=0.013 1 mg/kg. Finally, the synthetic uncertainty of nickel is u(Ni)=0.006 6 mg/kg, the extended uncertainty of cobalt is u(Co)=0.005 9 mg/kg, and the extended uncertainty of manganese is u(Mn)=0.006 5 mg/kg.

锂电池材料的元素组成对锂电池的性能与安全至关重要,主量元素与杂质元素的含量是核心影响因素。而正极材料中镍、钴、锰的含量是影响电池性能的关键因素。镍元素可以提高电池的容量和能量密度,钴元素有助于提升电池的稳定性和安全性,锰元素能改善电池的循环性能和降低成本。因此,对锂电池正极材料的元素检测不仅是原材料质量把控的关键,也是确保产品性能与安全的必要环节。针对三元锂电池正极材料中镍、钴、锰元素含量进行不确定度评估,不仅关系到锂电池的性能和成本,更直接关联电池的安全性和使用寿命,对优化电池性能、提高产品质量至关重要。
为准确测定三元正极材料中的镍、钴、锰元素含量,实验室常用电感耦合等离子体光谱法(Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometer,ICP-OES)进行检测,该方法灵敏度高、准确度高、操作简便,广泛应用于元素分析领域。然而,任何测量方法均存在一定的不确定度[1-4],包括仪器误差、操作误差、样品误差等。因此,评估测量结果的不确定度是必要的。
根据JJF 1059.1—2012《测量不确定度评定与表示》[5],对ICP-OES法测定的三元正极材料中镍、钴、锰元素含量进行不确定度评估[6-9],以确定测量结果的可靠性程度,保证实验室的检测能力,为锂电池的性能优化和成本控制提供支持。
试验所需设备有电感耦合等离子体光谱仪、垂直双向观测系统、通道蠕动泵。
试验所用试剂材料为浓度分别为0.1 mg/L、0.5 mg/L、1 mg/L、5 mg/L、10 mg/L、20 mg/L的混合标准溶液(Ni、Co、Mn)。
采用ICP-OES试验原理对三元锂电池正极材料中镍、钴、锰元素含量进行测定,使用不同浓度的混合标准溶液绘制浓度-强度标准曲线,标准曲线的线性相关系数均高于0.999 5,标准曲线相关参数信息如表1所示。在完全相同的试验条件下,对同一正极材料试样进行11次重复测定,测试数据如表2所示。
各元素含量计算如下:

式中:W为待测样品中各元素含量,A为稀释倍数,C为仪器输出的样品中各元素浓度,V为溶液定容体积,m为称量试样的质量。
基于ICP-OES试验原理对三元锂电池正极材料中镍、钴、锰元素含量测定过程中的A类和B类不确定度进行分析,如图1所示。
A类不确定度通常采用标准偏差的方法进行计算,本研究主要针对标准曲线拟合和重复性偏差进行评定:
a. 标准曲线引入的不确定度分量,例如标准曲线的绘制过程中标准点的选取、曲线拟合的方法等;
b. 重复性偏差导致的不确定度分量,反映在相同条件下多次测量结果的离散程度,是评估测量稳定性的重要指标。
B类不确定度主要针对仪器、容量瓶和标准溶液进行评定:
a. 仪器引入的不确定度分量,仪器的测量精度、稳定性以及操作过程中的校准等因素导致;
b. 容量瓶引入的不确定度分量,主要由于容量瓶的精度、使用过程中的温度变化等因素导致;
c. 标准溶液引入的不确定度分量,包含标准溶液本身及其配制、储存和使用过程中可能产生的误差。
通过混合标准溶液的浓度和仪器输出的信号强度,运用最小二乘法拟合标准曲线的斜率和截距:

式中:y为仪器输出信号响应值,x为混标溶液浓度,a为拟合直线斜率,b为截距。
忽略标准溶液浓度值x引入的误差,但浓度值x对应的强度值y是随机的,以此拟合得到的标准曲线具有不确定性,回归标准偏差为:

式中:s(y)为标准偏差;(yi-b-axi)为当输入标液浓度为xi时,仪器输出强度值与拟合直线对应的强度值之差;n为自由度。
对正极材料样品共测量11次,测得试样中的镍含量为5.521 μg/L,钴含量为3.566 μg/L,锰含量为2.102 μg/L,则正极材料样品标准不确定度u(x)为:

式中:p=11为正极材料样品平行测量次数,x为样品测试浓度,$\stackrel{-}{x}$为不同标液的浓度平均值。
则标准曲线引入的相对标准不确定度urel(x)为:
${u}_{rel}\left(x\right)=\frac{u\left(x\right)}{x}$
Ni、Co、Mn的标准曲线拟合引入的相对标准不确定度如表3所示。
在完全相同的试验条件下,对同一份正极材料试样重复测定11次的结果构成了分析重复性偏差的基础数据,采用贝塞尔公式量化计算重复性测试引入的标准不确定度u(r):

式中:s(x)=$\sqrt{\frac{\sum _{i}^{n}{\left({x}_{i}-\stackrel{-}{x}\right)}^{2}}{p-1}}$为不同标准溶液浓度标准偏差。
重复性偏差导致的相对标准不确定度urel(r)与重复性测试引入的相对标准不确定度如表4所示,urel(r)计算如下:

ICP-OES引入的不确定度分量由仪器校准证书获知,包含因子k=2,相对扩张不确定度为u(d)=2%,则仪器引入的相对标准不确定度urel(d)为:
${u}_{rel\left(d\right)}=\frac{u\left(d\right)}{k}$
经计算,urel(d)=0.010 0。
样品定容在容积为100 mL的容量瓶中,按照JJG 196—2006《常用玻璃量器检定规程》,容积为100 mL的容量瓶最大允许误差为0.1 mL,按照均匀分布计算得到相对标准不确定度urel(v)为:
${u}_{rel}\left(v\right)=\frac{u\left(x\right)}{100\sqrt{3}}$
经计算,urel(v)=0.000 6。
使用标准溶液为镍、钴、锰标准溶液(1 000 mg/L),根据标准物质证书给出的包含因子k=2,不确定度为0.97%,计算得到标准溶液引入的相对标准不确定度urel(c)为:
${u}_{rel}\left(c\right)=\frac{u\left(c\right)}{2}$
经计算,urel(c)=0.004 85。
在电池材料的化学分析过程中,不确定度的评估至关重要,直接关系到分析结果的准确性和可靠性,各因素引入的不确定度分量如图2所示。
经分析,镍、钴、锰3种元素的标准曲线拟合所引入的不确定度尤为显著,对合成标准不确定度的贡献较大,并且计算得到正极材料样品镍、钴、锰的合成相对标准不确定度为:

设正极材料样品中的镍、钴、锰元素含量为W,则正极材料样品中镍、钴、锰3种元素含量的合成标准不确定度u=urel·W,包含因子k=2(置信概率近似95%),则扩展不确定度为U95=uk。其中,镍的合成不确定度u(Ni)=0.006 6 mg/kg,钴的合成不确定度u(Co)=0.005 9 mg/kg,锰的合成不确定度u(Mn)=0.006 5 mg/kg;计算得到ICP-OES测定正极材料中镍、钴、锰含量的扩展不确定度,其中,镍的扩展不确定度U95(Ni)=0.013 1 mg/kg,钴的扩展不确定度U95(Co)=0.011 8 mg/kg,锰的扩展不确定度U95(Mn)=0.013 1 mg/kg,如表5所示。
电池正极材料中各元素含量的测定结果Y=y$\pm $U95, 这表明被测元素的含量在(y-U95,y+U95)的概率区间内。依据11次平行测试结果,镍含量y=0.552 1 mg/kg,其扩展不确定度为0.013 1 mg/kg,则镍含量的测量结果为Y=(0.552 1+0.013 1) mg/kg,钴含量的测量结果为Y=(0.356 6+0.011 8) mg/kg,锰含量的测量结果为Y=(0.210 2+0.013 1) mg/kg。
本文采用电感耦合等离子体光谱(ICP-OES)仪对锂电池正极材料中的镍、钴、锰含量进行精确测定,量化评估了各种不确定度因素。试验结果显示,标准曲线拟合过程所引入的不确定度占据了主导地位,对最终测定结果的准确性具有显著影响。为降低不确定度,总结了如下措施:首先,保证仪器的测量精度、稳定性以及操作过程中的准确性,能有效地降低ICP-OES测定的不确定度;其次,应选用高纯度、稳定性好的标准物质,以保证标准曲线的准确性和可靠性。
