In order to efficiently realize the measurement of vehicle wheel brows, a non-contact vehicle wheel fender clearance measurement system is designed based on image processing technology, and corresponding measurement software is created with the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of MATLAB. The verification results show that for actual clearance of at least 15 mm, the error of the wheel fender clearance calculated by the system under different shooting distance conditions is controlled within 2%, which exhibiting a high degree of measurement accuracy.

为高效实现车辆轮眉测量,基于图像处理技术设计了一种非接触式车辆轮眉间隙测量系统,并利用MATLAB的图形用户界面(GUI)开发了相应的测量软件,验证结果表明,实际间隙不小于15 mm时,该系统在不同拍摄距离条件下计算得到的轮眉间隙误差均控制在2%以内,具有较高的测量精度。

In order to efficiently realize the measurement of vehicle wheel brows, a non-contact vehicle wheel fender clearance measurement system is designed based on image processing technology, and corresponding measurement software is created with the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of MATLAB. The verification results show that for actual clearance of at least 15 mm, the error of the wheel fender clearance calculated by the system under different shooting distance conditions is controlled within 2%, which exhibiting a high degree of measurement accuracy.

根据分类方式不同,测量技术可分为接触式与非接触式、近程与远程测量等多种类型。近年来,数字图像技术发展迅速,基于图像处理的非接触式测量技术已广泛应用于各类测量场景。韩晓勇[1]利用图像处理技术进行车辆焊缝间隙检测,并开发了相应检测软件。马嘉斌[2]利用图像处理技术对桥梁裂缝进行了智能识别与间隙测量。这说明图像处理技术可有效应用于工程测量。
汽车轮眉间隙指轮胎上点与轮眉间的距离。在汽车设计过程中,轮眉间隙的测量有利于选择合适的轮胎规格,并指导调整悬架姿态,从而提高行驶稳定性和舒适性。
传统的接触式车辆轮眉间隙测量方法易受到周围环境、人为操作等因素的影响,且测量效率较低。基于图像处理的非接触式测量技术可以采集被测量物体的图像,再利用相关软件获得理想的测量结果,具有精度高、效率高等优势。
综上,本文基于图像处理技术,利用MATLAB软件设计一种非接触式轮眉测量系统,通过计算拍摄图像中轮眉相关目标特征的像素距离,经软件标定得到实际轮眉间隙,并加以验证。
数字图像本质上是被量化的二维矩阵,可以利用计算机对图像进行预处理,并提取目标特征,从而计算目标特征间的像素距离,通过标定得到像素比例尺,从而获得实际距离[3]
图1所示为某车辆轮眉区域示意,其中,O为轮心,AB分别为地面垂线与轮眉和轮胎外缘的交点,C为轮胎接地点,AB间的距离即为轮眉间隙h1OB间的距离为轮胎的静载半径h2,在车辆静止状态和标准胎压条件下测量获得,为已知量。只需获得OA间的距离H,即可计算得到h1
该测量系统主要分为软件和硬件2个部分,如图2所示。图像采集模块选取电荷耦合器件(Charge Coupled Device,CCD)相机,测距模块选择激光测距仪,光源模块选择发光二极管(Light Emitting Diode,LED)照明灯。除测量环境特别昏暗外,测量过程中一般不需要额外照明。
该系统的工作流程为:图像采集模块利用CCD相机拍摄车辆轮眉区域,距离测量模块同时记录相机与被摄物的距离,光源模块根据拍摄环境光线判断补光需求并按需执行补光操作,如图3所示;对采集到的图像进行处理,使获得的图像清晰准确;距离计算模块利用预设软件计算获得车辆轮眉间隙。
图像采集模块采集到的图像在一定程度上受到相机质量、光照条件、拍摄角度、拍摄距离、快门速度等因素的影响,可能存在瑕疵。因此,有必要对其进行预处理,具体过程如图4所示。
图像上每个像素点对应不同的灰度值。彩色图像包含的信息较多,易对数据处理造成干扰,故先将其转换为灰度图像,转换公式为:
Gy(i,j)=0.3×R(i,j)+0.6×G(i,j)+0.12×B(i,j)
式中:Gy(i,j)为灰度转换后像素点(i,j)处的灰度值,R(i,j)、G(i,j)、B(i,j)分别为原始图像像素点(i,j)处红、绿、蓝色的亮度。
在MATLAB中,可采用rgb2gray函数进行灰度图像转换。以某车辆轮眉区域为例,转换效果如图5所示。
为获得更加明显可见的图像特征,通常对图像再进行一次灰度增强变换。图像增强处理方法主要包括空间域计算和频率域计算两种方法。空间域计算方法对图像本身的空间坐标进行系列处理分析,包括数学形态运算、数值运算、集合运算和逻辑运算;频率域计算方法从频率的角度分析图像函数,以时间为自变量、振幅为因变量,对图像信号进行频域分析,常以滤波方式过滤无关频域信号,从而实现图像增强[4]
本文采用空间域计算方法对初步获得的灰度图像进行增强处理。空间域是由像素组成的,这种增强方法能够对像素进行操作。空间处理过程可表示为:

式中:F(i,j)为增强后像素点(i,j)处的灰度值,T为灰度变换函数。
灰度变换函数T的形式较多,本文采用分段线性变换,突出车轮与轮眉,抑制其他特征,使目标图像更突出。在MATLAB中,imadjust函数可用于增强图像灰度,采用该函数对图5b所示的灰度图进行处理,结果如图6所示。
图像在拍摄、传输和后期处理过程中的噪声通常采用图像平滑技术去除。常见的图像平滑技术有邻域平均法、高斯平滑法和中值滤波。
中值滤波器是空间域中一种典型的低通滤波器,可在保留图像边缘的基础上消除噪声。中值滤波的原理是将数据图像或数字编码中一个点的值替换为该点的任一邻域中每个点的平均值,替换后使其周围像素的颜色接近真实值,从而消除孤立噪声点[5]
在MATLAB中采用中值滤波对图6进行处理,结果如图7所示。
图像在处理前由不同区域组成,这些区域主要根据像素的颜色划分。区域之间的边界主要表现为颜色灰度值的不同,灰度值相近的像素连接起来形成一个区域。位于不同区域之间的像素集合为边缘,即通过某一算法得到的具备一定特征像素点的集合。边缘检测通过对灰度跃变进行分析,从而识别区域边缘。轮眉、轮胎和轮毂装饰盖的边界分别为不同区域,故提取其边缘具备可行性。在测量过程中只需获得轮眉,以及轮毂装饰盖或轮辋中一个的边缘即可。
常用的边缘检测算子包括罗伯茨(Roberts)算子、索贝尔(Sobel)算子、普雷维特(Prewitt)算子、拉普拉斯高斯(Laplacian Of Gaussian,LOG)算子、坎尼(Canny)算子等。本文在MATLAB中采用不同算子对经图像处理后的图片提取边缘,结果如图8所示。
图8中可以看出:对噪声最敏感的是坎尼算子,但检测到的边缘较为清晰;罗伯茨、普雷维特和索贝尔算子对噪声的敏感性有所减弱,其中索贝尔算子检测获得的边缘相对较宽;拉普拉斯高斯算子检测得到的边缘较为连续,但清晰度较差。故去噪处理后建议采用坎尼算子进行边缘提取,以便获得较为清晰的图像边缘。
不同车辆的轮眉图像及相应的图像处理结果如图9所示。
为实现车辆轮眉间隙测量,以MATLAB为开发平台,根据所需实现的功能和相应代码,基于图形用户界面(Graphical User Interface,GUI)开发了测量系统软件,软件测量流程如图10所示。
软件界面如图11所示。该软件能够对采集到的图像进行预处理、提取边缘、捕捉边缘上的点求得圆心,并进一步取得交点,计算两点之间的像素距离,再经过坐标转换得到实际距离,保存测量结果。
轮辋边缘、轮毂装饰盖边缘较小,受图像质量影响,轮毂装饰盖边缘可能并不清晰,导致捕捉到的轮心不准确,所以一般采用轮辋边缘上一部分点捕捉轮心。在提取出的轮辋边缘上至少捕捉3个点,系统应用最小二乘法得到整个圆及其圆心,取得圆心坐标和圆的半径。选择清晰的边缘、增加采集点的数量可使测量结果更加精确。软件具体操作如图12所示。
过圆心作地面垂线获得垂线与轮眉边缘的交点A、过圆心作地面垂线获得垂线与轮胎边缘的交点BC,如图13所示。
根据捕捉获得的圆心O(x0,y0)、交点A(xA,yA)求解两点间的距离:

根据圆心和交点坐标,两点的像素距离可直接在软件中获得。
MATLAB中图形界面采用笛卡尔坐标系,图14所示为相机模型的坐标系关系。
在相机模型的4个坐标系中,假设点P在世界坐标系下的坐标为(Xw,Yw,Zw),对应的相机坐标系坐标为(XC,YC,ZC),对应在图像坐标系上的投影点坐标为(x,y),对应在像素坐标系上的投影点坐标为(u,v)。其中,ZC表征了相机与实物间的距离,由距离测量模块测得。
根据坐标变换和三角形的相似性,可推导出像素坐标与图像坐标之间的关系:

同理,图像坐标与相机坐标之间存在如下关系:

YC=[(v-v0ZC×dy]/F
式中:dx、dy分别为单个像素在xy方向对应的物理尺寸,(u0,v0)为图像中心的像素坐标,F为相机的焦距。
在用相机采集目标图像时,需保证相机的焦距、物距完全一致,使光轴与被测对象平面保持垂直。本文系统可以借助激光测距仪的辅助垂直功能判定是否保持垂直,所以可推导出相机坐标与像素坐标的关系为:
YC=(av+bZC
式中:ab为待标定参数。
利用此原理,可以计算轮眉的实际距离。为了确保测量结果的准确性,引入二次项进行拟合,以排除其他干扰因素的影响:
H=mh2+nh+l
式中:H为轮心到轮眉边缘的实际距离,h为轮心到轮眉边缘的像素距离,mnl为待标定拟合系数。
最终的轮眉间隙为:
h1=H-h2
图15所示,由中心向外绘制同心圆制作标定板,圆的半径范围为5~75 mm,相邻同心圆的半径相差5 mm。在不同拍摄距离下进行标定试验。
保持相机与标定板间的距离为1.5 m,使用相机进行图像采集,再通过在标定板上取点画圆等步骤来确定标定参数。如图16所示为软件标定界面。
采用标定板的标定方式不仅验证了最小二乘法取圆心的程序,同时也标定了像素与实际距离的转换精确度。通过标定得到式(9)中参数的取值如表1所示。
设相机与标定板之间的距离为1.5 m,采集图像并汇总实际宽度和计算测量值的对比数据及误差,结果如表2所示:尺寸较小(不超过10 mm)时,测量误差在4%以内;尺寸较大(不小于35 mm)时,测量误差均在1%以内。
表2所示的部分实测距离和软件计算测量值绘制成如图17所示的拟合曲线,可以看出,计算值与实测值基本吻合,系统计算准确率较高。
为了验证不同拍摄距离(特别是远距离)条件下的拍摄测量结果,对标定板进行重新标定,以获取新的标定值进行验证。除拍摄距离不同外,控制其他拍摄条件相同,分别在1.5 m、3.0 m、5.0 m、10.0 m处进行车辆轮眉拍摄,然后用测量软件对轮眉间隙进行计算,结果如表3所示。
表3可知,当拍摄距离在一定范围内时,测量系统计算得到的轮眉间隙与实测轮眉间隙尺寸基本符合,误差控制在2%以内。
本文设计了一种基于图像处理技术的非接触式车辆轮眉间隙测量系统。对轮眉区域图像进行预处理、边缘提取后,应用MATLAB软件设计了测量软件,并通过标定板开展标定后,对不同距离下的轮眉进行间隙测量。结果表明,该测量系统的误差小于2%,具有较高的测量精度。
