In order to improve the efficiency and safety of thermal diffusion testing for power batteries, a three-dimensional model of the laboratory is established and gas diffusion simulation analysis is carried out based on actual data from a thermal diffusion laboratory. Regarding the issue of low diffusion efficiency of laboratory gases, the paper proposes an improved scheme to install dual suction ports directly above the cooling water tank. The simulation verification results show that the improved scheme reduces the peak CO2 concentration by 25% and increases the CO2 gas diffusion efficiency by 22.16% compared with the original scheme,, which effectively improves experimental efficiency and safety.

为提高动力电池热扩散试验的效率和安全性,基于某热扩散实验室实际数据建立实验室三维模型并开展了气体扩散仿真分析,针对实验室气体扩散效率不高的问题,提出在冷却水池正上方设置双吸气口的改进方案,仿真验证结果表明,与原方案相比,改进方案CO2浓度峰值降低25%、CO2气体扩散效率提高22.16%,有效提高了试验效率和安全性。

In order to improve the efficiency and safety of thermal diffusion testing for power batteries, a three-dimensional model of the laboratory is established and gas diffusion simulation analysis is carried out based on actual data from a thermal diffusion laboratory. Regarding the issue of low diffusion efficiency of laboratory gases, the paper proposes an improved scheme to install dual suction ports directly above the cooling water tank. The simulation verification results show that the improved scheme reduces the peak CO2 concentration by 25% and increases the CO2 gas diffusion efficiency by 22.16% compared with the original scheme,, which effectively improves experimental efficiency and safety.

新能源汽车动力电池包或系统内由电池单体热失控引发的其余电池单体接连发生热失控的现象称为热扩散[1]。热扩散试验是动力电池安全性的检验标准之一,同时,随着相关强制性国家标准[2-4]的发布,热扩散试验将成为必检项目。
针对动力电池热扩散问题,研究人员主要采用数值模拟和测试相结合的方法开展分析。饶中浩[5]研究发现,传统相变材料(Phase Change Material,PCM)散热系统能够有效降低电池模组内部温度,并提高电池的剩余使用寿命。Gribble等[6]利用差示扫描量热法(Differential Scanning Calorimetry,DSC)开展热分析,阐明了锂离子电池的热失控机理。
为模拟新能源汽车行驶过程中可能出现的问题,在动力电池热扩散试验中,需开展机械滥用(挤压、针刺等)试验、电滥用(过充、过放等)试验和热滥用(加热、高温等)试验,可能发生起火爆炸,产生的大量有毒有害污染气体将迅速充满实验室,若不能及时净化实验室内气体,将极大降低检测效率,甚至威胁试验人员的健康和生命安全[7]。通过动力电池热扩散实验室仿真研究,可以更好地评估电池在不同条件下的热扩散行为,提前识别潜在风险,减少实际试验次数,优化实验室设计,从而提高试验效率和安全性。因此,本文针对热扩散实验室进行建模仿真,并针对气体扩散效率优化开展实验室改进设计。
本文主要针对动力电池爆炸后释放的气体在空间内的流动情况进行分析,二维仿真无法反映整个实验室的气体流动情况,因此本文采用三维瞬态分析。
参考热扩散实验室实际房间数据,通过Inventor进行三维建模和模型简化。实验室内不同规格的两台针刺挤压试验机的精细三维建模对仿真结果影响不大,因此根据整体外观尺寸对其进行简化。针刺挤压试验机及其简化三维模型如图1所示。
实验室整体尺寸为长15 478 mm、宽9 400 mm、高4 529 mm,墙体厚度为200 mm。实验室内布置有长3 100 mm、宽2 900 mm、高1 500 mm的方形水池,壁厚为50 mm,水池内冷却水液面距水池顶部510 mm。实验室设有一个长1 000 mm、宽600 mm的进气窗,一个直径为600 mm的吸气口,与上壁面的距离为950 mm。进气窗的位置如图2所示,建立的热扩散实验室简化三维模型如图3所示,并以实验室地面中心为原点,分别以宽度方向、长度方向和高度方向为x轴、y轴、z轴方向,按照右手定则建立坐标系。
在SpaceClaim软件中,将热扩散实验室三维模型的实体部分去除,仅保留流体部分,并导入Fluent Meshing,采用水密几何体网格划分(Watertight Geometry Meshing)流程对流体部分进行网格划分。
在壁面附近,流体的流动情况变化较为显著,为保证仿真的可靠性,添加5层边界层。针对体网格类型划分,Fluent Meshing提供了四面体网格(Tetrahedral)、多面体网格(Polyhedra)、马赛克网格(Poly-hexcore)、六面体网格(Hexcore)4种方法。多面体网格和马赛克网格可大幅减少网格数量、降低仿真计算量,同时显著提高网格质量,故本文选择多面体网格进行划分,设置增长率为1.2、最大单元长度为493.8 mm,并对关键位置进行体网格加密,如图4所示。
网格划分完成后需检查网格正交质量。网格正交质量的取值范围为0~1,取值越接近1,表示结果越理想,最小正交质量应尽可能大于0.1。本文模型共生成体网格84 094个,网格最小正交质量为0.45,质量良好。
对各类流体运动过程的计算需要求解连续性方程和动量守恒方程,对于含有热传导或可压缩流动的情况,需要求解能量守恒的附加方程,对于含有组分混合和反应的流动,需要求解组分守恒方程,当流动为湍流时,还需要求解附加的输运方程。
利用微体积法求解连续性方程(质量守恒方程):

式中:V为速度,t为时间,ρ为流体密度,∂ρ/∂t为空间某一点处质量的增加量,∇·(ρV)为流出该点的质量。

式中:p为单位面积上的压力,uvw分别为速度的xyz向分量,fx、fy、fz分别为单位质量力的xyz向分量。
能量方程为:

式中:λ为热传导系数,e为单位质量热力学能,f为单位质量力,P为应力张量,qR为单位质量流体所受到的热辐射,T为流体的温度。
物质输运方程为:

式中:Yi为第i种物质的质量分数,通过第i种物质的对流扩散方程预估求得;Ri为第i种物质的化学反应净产生速率;Si为离散相及用户定义的源项导致的第i种物质的额外产生速率;Ji为第i种物质的扩散通量,由浓度梯度产生。
Fluent提供了基于压力的求解器(压力基求解器)和基于密度的求解器(密度基求解器)。压力基求解器是为解决低速和不可压缩流体流动的求解问题而设计的,密度基求解器则主要针对高速流动及可压缩流动。随着算法的迭代和发展,这两种方法可用于求解更多的流体流动问题。
本文实验室内污染气体的扩散符合低速流动情况,且马赫数远小于0.3(速度远小于102.1 m/s),可视为不可压缩气体,因此本文采用压力基求解器。同时,由于需要获取不同时刻污染气体浓度的空间分布情况,本文采用瞬态仿真方法,并在z向设定了-9.81 m/s2的重力加速度。
常用的湍流模型包括标准k-ε模型、重正化群(Renormalization Group,RNG)k-ε模型和带旋流修正的可实现(Realizable)k-ε模型。除常量外,Realizable k-ε模型的湍流动能方程(k方程)与标准k-ε模型、RNG k-ε模型的k方程相同,扩散方程(ε方程)基本不同,该模型适用于多种流动,如旋转、均匀剪切流、自由流中的喷射和混合流、管道和边界流以及分离流等。因此,本文采用Realizable k-ε模型,其输运方程为:

式中:k为湍流动能,ε为湍流耗散率,xixj为各坐标分量,uj为平均相对速度分量,μ为液体黏度,μt为液体涡黏系数,Gk为由层流速度梯度产生的湍流动能,Gb为由浮力产生的湍流动能,YM为在可压缩湍流中过渡扩散所产生的波动,C1=max[0.43,η/(η+5)]、C2为常量,C=1.44,C=tanh$\left(\left|\frac{w}{u}\right|\right)$σkσε分别为k方程和ε方程的湍流普朗特数,SkSε为用户定义的湍流耗散源项,η=Sk/ε,S为平均应变率张量的模量。
与Realizable k-ε模型匹配的壁面函数有标准壁面函数、非平衡壁面函数、增强型壁面函数等,其特点如表1所示,本文采用标准壁面函数。
在Fluent中,可以用守恒方程描述每种组分物质的对流、扩散和反应源来模拟物质的混合和传输,并可模拟多种物质并发的化学反应。此外,处于不同相态(如气态、液态、固态)时的流体或相态相同但运动状态不同的流体共同流动时,可利用多相流模型进行仿真,以清晰获取流体的相界面分布情况。
动力电池发生热扩散并引起爆炸时,将产生CO2、H2、CO和各种碳氢化合物等污染气体,以及颗粒较小的固体污染物。本文主要针对释放的气体成分进行分析,暂时忽略固体污染物的影响。气体的相态和运动状态相同,可采用组分输运模型研究不同时刻各种气体在空间内的浓度分布情况。
在组份输运模型中,需要确定各组分的成分及相应质量分数。电池在不同荷电状态(State of Charge,SOC)下产生的气体不同,SOC为100%时锂离子电池释放的主要气体体积分数如表2所示[8]
表2中所列主要气体外,还有对仿真分析影响较小的少量气体,本文将其用空气替代,其体积分数为5.14%。
i种气体的质量分数为:

式中:Mi=Mri·ni为第i种气体的质量,Mri为第i种气体的相对分子质量,ni=Vi/22.4为第i种气体的物质的量,Vi为第i种气体的体积分数,M为混合气体的总质量。
本文根据SOC为100%时锂离子电池释放的气体体积分数计算各组分的质量分数,可得CO2、H2、CO、CH4、C2H4、C2H6、C3H6、空气的质量分数分别为51.69%、2.17%、25.11%、4.00%、2.40%、1.36%、7.43%、5.84%。
试验过程中,动力电池发生起火和爆炸后,通过预先设定的程序远程控制起重机将动力电池组转移至水池中进行降温和灭火。故设置以下假定条件:水池液面处为动力电池热扩散释放气体的唯一释放源;壁面为等温壁面;吸气口和安全阀进气口均为恒压进口。边界条件的设置如图5所示。
在可压缩流动中,常采用质量流入口(Mass Flow Inlet)和压力入口(Pressure Inlet),但本文仿真中气体可视为不可压缩气体,故选用速度入口(Velocity Inlet)有利于提高仿真的准确性。
由于动力电池发生热扩散爆炸的瞬间,气体速度很大,速度峰值受电池的类型和规格、爆炸环境等因素影响,无法给出通用的具体数值,且动力电池释放气体的时间也不尽相同,故本文采用速度分段函数模拟实际爆炸时的气体释放情况,如图6所示。
湍流强度及水力直径分别设置为5%和1 m。
实验室壁面上设有一个由安全阀组成的进气通道,当实验室内因吸气口持续吸气形成低压时开启通道,引入实验室外部的气体。当实验室内气压高于标准大气压时,需将进气通道关闭,防止污染气体排向室外。
因此,将该进气通道设为压力入口,绝对压力为101 325 Pa,表压为0 Pa。湍流强度及水力直径分别设置为5%和1 m,流入组分设置为空气。
实验室水池正上方设有一个通风管道,在鼓风机作用下,通风口处压强约为100 825 Pa,即表压为-500 Pa。在压差的作用下,热扩散实验室内的污染气体将流入通风管道,最后在清洁系统中经过静电除尘、吸附等净化流程后排向外界。
因此,将该通风管道设为压力出口(Pressure Outlet),表压为-500 Pa。湍流强度及水力直径分别设置为5%和1 m。由于回流中含有的污染气体成分较少,假设回流的成分均为空气。
本文采用标准初始化,将所有空间内的初始表压设置为0 Pa,初始气体成分为空气。
为获得实验室内不同时刻各气体组分的空间浓度分布情况,需采用瞬态仿真。设置仿真步长为3 s、总步数为90步、迭代次数为20次,必要时可在此基础上继续仿真。
为了更好地获得热扩散实验室内气体在不同时刻的浓度数据,设置4个监测点和4个关键监测平面。监测点及其坐标分别为A(3 m,6 m,3 m)、B(-3.5 m,6 m,3 m)、C(-3.5 m,-6 m,3 m)、D(3 m,-6 m,3 m),如图7所示。
监测平面分别为y=0 m平面、x=2.5 m平面、x=-2.2 m平面、z=0.8 m平面,如图8所示。其中,y=0 m平面、x=2.5 m平面经过吸气通道中心。
CO2在各组分气体中占比最高,本文以CO2为例进行气体浓度分析,x=2.5 m截面处不同时刻CO2浓度分布云图如图9所示。
图9可知,在前20 s时间内,位于实验室正中间位置的气体释放源大量释放CO2气体,气体迅速上升充满实验室,在释放源处呈现“蘑菇云”状,气体浓度近似左右对称分布。
第30 s时,可以明显看到释放源的气体释放量大幅度下降,顶部浓度从52%下降到36%,底部浓度最小值为8%。第40 s时,实验室内CO2浓度进一步下降,顶部浓度最大值降低至28%,但x=2.5 m平面右半部分浓度仍大于左半部分。
第60~120 s,浓度进一步降低,最低点已降至0%。同时,x=2.5 m平面右半部分浓度已经小于左半部分,左半部分顶部浓度略大于整体浓度,其原因可能是右侧壁面存在压力进口,实验室存在外界气体流入,CO2被右侧来流气体带入左侧,最终堆积在上部。
各监测点CO2浓度变化情况如图10所示,监测点AD在前10 s达到浓度小高峰25%,之后监测点ABCD均在第60 s左右达到最大值,分别为43%、37%、39%、44%。
各监测点处不同气体浓度最大值如图11所示,5种气体的变化趋势相同,在前60 s时间段浓度上升,第60 s后浓度下降,浓度较高的前5种气体按浓度峰值由大到小分别为CO2、CO、C3H6、CH4和H2
由仿真结果可以看出,实验室吸气效率并不高,为提高吸气效率,本文对实验室结构进行优化。
本文将实验室单吸气口结构调整为双吸气口结构,将直径为600 mm的吸气管道由1个增加为2个,方形水池、针刺挤压试验机、进气窗的尺寸和空间位置保持不变,实验室三维模型如图12所示,双吸气管道空间位置如图13所示。
将三维模型导入SpaceClaim中进行模型缺陷检测,完成后删除固体表面,仅保留流体区域模型,如图14所示。
将流体区域模型导入Fluent Meshing,利用多面体网格进行划分,最终生成体网格的数量为44 736个,网格最小正交质量为0.45。
与单吸气口模型相同,湍流模型采用Realizable k-ε模型,开启组分输运模型,在z轴方向设置-9.81 m/s2的重力加速度,气体组分及质量分数不变。
压力入口、速度入口、压力出口设置不变,区别在于,压力出口边界设置为2个,对应双吸气管道。双吸气口方案模型的边界条件设置如图15所示。
同样设置4个监测点和4个监测平面。监测点坐标与单吸气口相同,监测平面分别为y=0.55 m平面、x=2.5 m平面、x=-2.2 m平面、z=0.8 m平面,如图16所示。y=0.55 m平面经过压力入口侧的吸气通道,x=2.5 m平面经过两个吸气管道中心。
x=2.5 m截面处不同时刻CO2浓度分布云图如图17所示。
图17可知,在前20 s内气体大量释放,气体运动呈现喷射状,截面的右半部分浓度积累较左半部分大,两者相差达到20%。
第30 s时,气体释放浓度下降,实验室内气体整体浓度下降,在顶部两侧略有积累,浓度最高值达到41%。第40 s时,实验室内CO2浓度进一步下降,除释放源表面外,x=2.5 m截面处CO2浓度最高,仅为17%。
第50~120 s,实验室内CO2浓度持续下降,但下降速率降低。在第120 s时大部分位置浓度已到达最低值。
各监测点CO2浓度变化情况如图18所示,在前60 s内,4个监测点处的CO2浓度快速上升,在监测点A取到最高浓度34%,随后浓度开始迅速下降。第95 s后,CO2浓度降低速率放缓。
各监测点处不同气体浓度最大值如图19所示,5种气体浓度变化趋势大致相同,均在第60 s达到最高值。
改进方案与原方案气体浓度变化趋势相同,均在前30 s内产生浓度积累,之后浓度快速下降,最后下降速度放缓,达到理论平衡点。
为分析改进方案对吸气效率的影响,本文以CO2作为参照气体,将各监测点气体浓度的最高值与原方案进行比较,如图20所示。
图20可知:改进方案CO2浓度峰值为33%,与原方案相比降低25%;改进方案CO2浓度降低至5%所需时间为288 s,原方案所需时间为370 s,气体扩散效率提高22.16%。
本文利用热扩散实验室数据进行了三维建模和仿真,并针对实验室气体扩散效率不高的问题,提出了双吸气口方案进行优化,仿真验证结果表明,与原方案相比,优化方案的气体扩散效率显著提高。
