This paper uses the high-altitude bench simulation test method to study the high-altitude characteristics of a non road four stage diesel engine with EGR technology route. It analyzes the changes in emissions, power and fuel economy of diesel engines with the increase of altitude in the EGR technology route, further explores the positive effect of EGR technology on performance improvement in high-altitude environments, and proposes a high-altitude performance optimization calibration method based on the technical characteristics of this model. Adopting this method helps to improve the engine’s high-altitude power performance.

采用高原台架模拟试验法对一款采用废气再循环(EGR)技术的满足非道路移动机械用柴油机排气污染物排放限值(第四阶段)标准的柴油机进行了高原特性研究,分析了该柴油机随海拔的升高在排放、动力性及燃油经济性方面的变化趋势,进一步探究了EGR技术在高原环境中对性能提升的积极作用,并基于该机型技术特点提出了高原性能优化标定方法,以提升高原动力性。

This paper uses the high-altitude bench simulation test method to study the high-altitude characteristics of a non road four stage diesel engine with EGR technology route. It analyzes the changes in emissions, power and fuel economy of diesel engines with the increase of altitude in the EGR technology route, further explores the positive effect of EGR technology on performance improvement in high-altitude environments, and proposes a high-altitude performance optimization calibration method based on the technical characteristics of this model. Adopting this method helps to improve the engine’s high-altitude power performance.

高原环境大气压力低、空气稀薄、氧气含量小,柴油机在高原环境下工作时缸内燃烧恶化、性能下降,故研究高原对柴油机性能的影响对改善柴油机高原适应性有重要意义。目前,国内外学者针对柴油机高原特性的研究多集中于柴油机燃烧过程、污染物排放特性、代用燃料及空气系统优化等方面[1-4],对于采用废气再循环(Exhaust Gas Recirculation,EGR)技术的非道路移动机械用柴油机的高原特性研究较少。为此,本文利用发动机高原模拟试验台架,对一款应用EGR技术且满足非道路移动机械用柴油机排气污染物排放限值(第四阶段)(简称“非道路国四”)标准的柴油机进行不同海拔条件下的性能测试试验,基于试验结果研究该技术对柴油机高原特性的影响和柴油机性能提升方法。
国内外学者对柴油机高原特性的研究主要有3种方法,即热力循环模拟计算法、台架模拟试验法、实地台架试验法[5]。本文采用台架模拟试验法,在2 000 m海拔试验室进行海拔性能测试试验,并利用进、排气高原模拟设备进行其他海拔相关测试试验。该试验方法可以系统对比各参数对发动机性能的影响,试验结果重复性好且成本较低。
本文的研究对象为某公司某款非道路国四发动机产品,其技术路线为EGR+氧化催化转化器(Diesel Oxidation Catalyst,DOC)+颗粒过滤器(Diesel Particulate Filter,DPF),产品主要参数如表1所示。
台架进、排气系统模拟海拔0 m、2 000 m、3 000 m、4 000 m、5 000 m处大气压力状态并控制进气温、湿度,具体控制参数如表2所示。在不同海拔条件下开展外特性和负荷特性试验,采集进气量、增压压力及增压器转速等相关参数和扭矩、油耗、烟度、氮氧化物(NOx)等测试结果,以分析不同海拔条件下非道路国四EGR技术发动机的性能变化趋势。
试验所用发动机采用进气闭环控制,即由进气流量传感器测量发动机进气总管新鲜进气量,并通过调节EGR阀开度实现对进气量的闭环控制,以满足非道路国四NOx排放控制要求。随着海拔升高,大气压力和密度逐步下降,实际进气量减少,EGR闭环调节作用逐渐减弱,直至EGR阀全部关闭。新鲜进气量变化趋势如图1所示。
图1可知,1 000 r/min以下低速区域进气量受海拔影响显著,该区域增压器作用较小,进气量主要由发动机排量和进气密度决定,随海拔升高逐渐下降。1 200 r/min以上转速区域进气量受EGR调节作用明显,由图1可以看出,2 000 m以下海拔进气量接近一致,3 000~4 000 m海拔进气量接近一致,均受到进气闭环控制的影响。其中,1 200~1 600 r/min之间进气量随海拔上升降幅较小,主要是由于该区域不受增压器转速限制,增压器对高原进气量的补偿能力较强。1 800 r/min以上转速区域进气量则因受增压器最高转速限制而呈现明显的下降趋势。
随着海拔升高、大气压力下降,涡轮增压器的涡端背压减小、膨胀比增大、涡轮转速升高,见图2;且增压绝对压力减小,见图3;同时,进气流量降低,压气机压比增大,修正进气流量增加,发动机与压气机联合运行曲线向高压比大流量区域偏移,增压效率偏离高效区,低速区域更接近喘振线,高速区域更接近超速线,见图4。因此,增压器高原匹配时应考虑足够的超速裕度和喘振裕度。
针对本文所用柴油机,增压器转速保护是限制其高原最大功率的重要因素。增压器转速在万有特性中随转速、负荷的升高而升高,整体变化趋势与等功率线趋势一致,如图5所示,且海拔越高,相同转速负荷下增压器转速越高。由图2可知,在增压等压段,海拔每升高1 000 m,增压器转速约升高7%。因此,随海拔升高,受增压器转速保护限制的外特性范围越广,在本文测试试验中,海拔4 000 m条件下1 800 r/min以上转速最大功率受增压器保护限制,海拔5 000 m条件下受限范围扩张至1 600 r/min。
高海拔区域发动机低速动力性受进气量影响而严重下降,该区域过量空气系数较小,发动机燃烧恶化,燃油经济性下降,烟度和一氧化碳(CO)排放量急剧升高。为了保证发动机正常工作,可通过减小喷油量来保证一定的空燃比,减小冒烟等不良现象,但会进一步导致动力性降低。高速动力性则受增压器保护限制,通常可通过减小喷油量来降低废气能量,从而达到降低增压器转速的目的,但同样会导致动力性降低。
该款发动机在不同海拔下的外特性扭矩及动力性损失结果如图6图7所示,由数据对比可以看出:海拔2 000 m处外特性动力性几乎未受影响;在海拔3 000 m、转速为800 r/min左右时,为了保证一定的空燃比和控制烟度,降低了燃油喷射量,扭矩降低了45%,高速区域动力性未受影响;在海拔4 000 m、转速为2 000 r/min以上区域,为降低增压器转速,减小了喷油量,功率略有降低,额定点功率降低了9%左右,低速动力性影响较大,在1 000 r/min以下区域作减油处理,功率损失达到50%左右;在海拔5 000 m、转速为1 600 r/min以上的中高速区域受增压器超速限制,整体功率降低较多,额定点功率最高降幅达28%,低速喷油量、扭矩与4 000 m海拔处基本一致,但空燃比较低,烟度有所增大,如图8图9所示。
有效燃油消耗率是衡量发动机经济性能的重要指标。根据相关研究[6],有效燃油消耗率与机械效率和指示热效率有关,可表示为:
be=$\frac{3.6\times {10}^{6}}{{\eta }_{it}{\eta }_{m}{H}_{u}}$
式中:be为有效燃油消耗率, ηm为机械效率,ηit为指示热效率,Hu为所用燃油的低热值。
本文中各海拔进、排气相对压力控制一致,对环境及发动机水温进行恒温控制,各点功率相同的情况下,海拔变化对发动机机械效率ηm的影响较小。有效燃油消耗率be主要由指示热效率ηit决定,对于同一发动机,ηit的取值与不同海拔下进气量及标定控制策略紧密相关。
非道路国四标准对海拔1 700 m以下区域运行的机械有在用符合性排放控制要求,本文所用发动机在该区域范围内排放控制要求相比高海拔区域更加严格。此区域相关转速下的EGR率更高,过量空气系数更小,轨压及喷油提前角均较小,导致指示热效率ηit相对较低,燃油消耗率be高于高海拔区域,如图10图11所示。
在海拔3 000 m以上区域,排放控制策略基本一致,柴油机的燃烧效率与进气量相关,随着海拔升高,燃油消耗率与进气量变化趋势基本一致,海拔每上升1 000 m,燃油消耗率约提高1%~2%,如图12所示。
随着海拔升高,发动机NOx排放量整体呈现先增高后减小的趋势,在海拔3 000 m时NOx排放量达到峰值,如图13图14所示。这与发动机在海拔2 000 m上、下排放控制策略不一致有关。海拔2 000 m以下区域,进气量闭环控制,随着海拔升高,为保证新鲜进气量一致,EGR阀开度减小,EGR率降低,导致NOx排放量升高;海拔2 000 m以上区域,EGR阀基本关闭,但海拔越高,进气量越小,氧气含量越低,导致NOx排放量下降。随海拔升高,在万有特性图上,NOx排放峰值区域向高转速偏移,如图15所示,可以看出发动机高效燃烧区随海拔升高向高转速区偏移的趋势,这与高海拔地区低转速区进气量下降过快、过量空气系数向高速区偏移有关,如图16所示。
稳态工况烟度采用滤纸式烟度计测量,烟度大小与空燃比、EGR率密切相关,同海拔下外特性烟度呈现“中间低、两边高”的形态,如图17所示。随海拔升高,低转速进气量减小,烟度增大,中高转速区域由于EGR阀的逐渐关闭和“减油”措施,空燃比增大,烟度降低。部分负荷由于空燃比较大,整体烟度较小,且随着海拔升高略有降低的趋势,如图18所示。
EGR技术能够有效降低NOx排放量,是目前内燃机行业NOx排放控制的主要技术手段之一,该技术通过内置或者外置EGR管路将排气中高浓度的CO2再次引入气缸,提高缸内混合气比热容,降低燃烧最高温度,同时降低混合气氧浓度,由此抑制NOx的产生。但该技术会减小发动机的新鲜进气量,尤其是在高海拔地区,空气密度的降低会导致进气量进一步减小,对发动机高原动力性、排烟等产生负面影响。本文通过试验进一步探究EGR技术在高原地区对柴油机性能是否有其他积极影响。
EGR路线柴油机为了保证在排放控制区均能实现废气再循环,通常匹配小蜗壳增压器,以满足中低速EGR阀前与阀后的合理压差需求,但这会导致高速大负荷区域出现排气堵塞现象,排气背压高,泵气损失大,燃油经济性下降。开启EGR可以降低涡前压力,减小发动机泵气损失,在空燃比合适的范围内,发动机燃油经济性和动力性均有所提高。该特性在高海拔条件下对柴油机依然有效果。图19图20所示为该款发动机在模拟海拔4 000 m条件下某一高速工况的EGR特性图。在发动机单次喷射量固定的前提下,随EGR阀开度的增大,涡前压力和空燃比逐渐减小,扭矩表现出“先增后减”的趋势,对应最佳比油耗也出现在中间的某一EGR阀开度上。试验表明,对于高海拔柴油机,在其高速段适当开启EGR对提高发动机动力性和经济性有积极作用。
随着海拔升高,增压器转速升高,过高的增压器转速会导致增压器叶片异常磨损、断轴等质量问题,所以柴油机高原标定中增压器转速保护标定极为重要,通常会通过减小喷油量来降低涡前废气能量,从而达到降低增压器转速的目的,但会减小发动机的输出功率。采用EGR技术可以使一部分废气不通过涡轮做功而直接进入发动机,在保证一定空燃比的条件下,增压器转速和发动机输出功率均可得到保证。
图21所示为该款发动机在模拟海拔4 000 m条件下某一高速工况不同EGR阀开度对增压器转速、增压压力的影响。试验结果表明,EGR阀开启后增压器转速可大幅度降低,EGR阀开度每增加10%,增压器转速下降约4 000 r/min,虽然增压压力也随之降低,进气量略有减小,但输出扭矩和烟度并未明显恶化,如图22所示。
从上述采用非道路国四EGR技术的柴油机高原特性分析结果可以看出,随着海拔升高,发动机在高、低速区域的动力性和经济性明显恶化,科研人员对如何改善高原发动机性能开展了大量研究。朱振夏等人认为增压中冷柴油机具有显著的高原功率补偿能力,并对增压系统进一步的改进方案进行了分类[7];李晓然等人从发动机本体改造、富氧燃烧以及燃料改变等3个方面提出了改善柴油机高原性能的措施[8];韩恺等人对可调复合增压方案进行了仿真研究,结果表明,该方案可明显改善柴油机低速特性并抑制喘振倾向[9]。以上研究从不同角度提出了改善柴油机高原性能的方案,但均需对发动机硬件进行升级改造,增加发动机开发和制造成本,本文结合对非道路国四EGR路线柴油机高原特性的研究,从工程应用角度提出高原性能的提升方法。
利用环境压力传感器识别整车海拔高度并以此对发动机控制进行精细化修正,在满足排放法规的前提下尽可能提升发动机高原性能。
在高海拔地区,随着进气量减小,柴油机压缩冲程终点缸内温度降低,滞燃期变长,燃烧重心后移,经济性变差,提高燃油喷射压力和延后喷油时刻可以缩短滞燃期,提高燃油经济性,但也会减小增压器转速和进气量。在平原地区,这种程度的进气量变化对发动机性能影响较小,但在高海拔地区对缸内燃烧影响明显,这导致高原环境下燃油喷射压力及喷油时刻的标定所需要考虑的因素更加复杂。在不同海拔条件下对燃油喷射压力及喷油时刻进行优化标定,确定最佳喷射压力和喷油时刻,对提高发动机高原性能有积极效果。
本文所用柴油机在海拔4 000 m某一工况下的燃油喷射压力特性如图23图24所示,喷射压力每提高10 MPa,增压器转速下降约700 r/min,进气量也随之降低,燃油消耗量呈上升趋势,烟度总体较小,最佳喷射压力在150 MPa附近。喷油时刻特性如图25图26所示,随喷油时刻提前,增压器转速也呈下降趋势,且降低幅度逐渐减小,进气量略有降低,但受喷油时刻提前的影响,燃烧并未明显恶化,在喷油时刻12°~13°曲轴转角(Crank Angle,CA)下的比油耗基本持平。
为了解决发动机在高海拔地区的增压器超速问题,行业内常规的标定方法是通过减小超速区域供油量来降低增压器转速,但会导致发动机输出功率下降。依据前文分析,EGR技术对柴油机性能的影响不仅体现在对NOx排放量的控制上,而且在高海拔地区也可以作为一种增压器机械放气阀的补充控制措施,对增压器废气能量进行一定的调节,可有效避免因增压器超速保护而导致的功率损失。图27所示为本文所用柴油机在海拔4 000 m条件下,分别采用常规的增压器保护标定方法和采用高原EGR技术的增压器保护标定方法获得的外特性输出功率对比结果,由试验结果可以看出,采用高原EGR技术可以明显提升高转速区域的输出功率。
高原EGR技术应用在采用传统废气涡轮增压器的发动机上,可以在不改变发动机结构和成本的基础上,简便有效地缓解增压器超速问题。
本文对一款采用EGR技术的非道路国四柴油机进行高原进气特性、增压器性能、动力性、经济性以及排放特性研究,着重研究了EGR技术在高海拔地区对发动机的影响和作用,并从产品工程应用角度提出了提升非道路国四发动机高原性能的标定思路和方法,以期为此类产品的开发提供借鉴。
