The response of an aircraft engine to bird strikes has the fan blade as its primary component, and the flight safety of the aircraft is directly impacted by the dynamic damage caused by stress changes. A three-dimensional model of a near-real bird body was established in this paper based on the structural features of the “bar-headed goose”. The dynamic damage of the blade was studied in consideration of the take-off-climb and approach-landing stages where bird strike accidents are most likely to occur for aircraft, with the effects of different impact speeds, fan blade speeds, and bird impact attitudes being taken into account. It is indicated by the results that the axial damage and deformation of fan blades tend to be increased monotonically with the increasing of aero-engine speed and relative velocity of bird strike blades. Additionally, as the fan blade speed is increased, the stress peak value after a bird strike shows a V-shaped trend, with the smallest stress peak value being occurred at 2 005 r/min. Furthermore, as the contact area between the bird body and fan blade at the initial collision moment is increased, both the stress and damage degree of the blade are gradually increased across different postures. When impacted at a 90° posture, the axial damage deformation of the blade is reached to 60.887 mm. Valuable reference for anti-bird strike design considerations for aero-engine fan blades is provided by these research findings.

风扇叶片作为航空发动机遭遇鸟撞后的首要响应部件,其应力变化导致的动态损伤会直接影响飞机的飞行安全。根据“斑头雁”外形的结构特点建立了近真实鸟体三维模型,针对飞机在起飞-爬升、进近-着陆两个最易发生鸟撞事故阶段的飞行工况,进行了不同撞击速度、不同风扇叶片转速以及不同鸟体撞击姿态对叶片动态损伤影响规律的研究。研究结果表明:当航空发动机转速和鸟体撞击叶片的相对速度增大时,风扇叶片的轴向损伤变形程度呈现出单调增加趋势;随着风扇叶片转速的增加,鸟撞后叶片的应力峰值呈V字形趋势,在航空发动机叶片转速为2 005 r/min时,应力峰值最小;当鸟体以不同姿态与风扇叶片碰撞的初始时刻接触面积增大时,叶片受到的应力大小和损伤程度也逐步增大,当鸟体呈现90°撞击姿态时,叶片在轴向上的损伤变形达到60.887 mm。研究结果对航空发动机风扇叶片抗鸟撞设计具有一定参考价值。

风扇叶片作为航空发动机遭遇鸟撞后的首要响应部件,其应力变化导致的动态损伤会直接影响飞机的飞行安全。根据“斑头雁”外形的结构特点建立了近真实鸟体三维模型,针对飞机在起飞-爬升、进近-着陆两个最易发生鸟撞事故阶段的飞行工况,进行了不同撞击速度、不同风扇叶片转速以及不同鸟体撞击姿态对叶片动态损伤影响规律的研究。研究结果表明:当航空发动机转速和鸟体撞击叶片的相对速度增大时,风扇叶片的轴向损伤变形程度呈现出单调增加趋势;随着风扇叶片转速的增加,鸟撞后叶片的应力峰值呈V字形趋势,在航空发动机叶片转速为2 005 r/min时,应力峰值最小;当鸟体以不同姿态与风扇叶片碰撞的初始时刻接触面积增大时,叶片受到的应力大小和损伤程度也逐步增大,当鸟体呈现90°撞击姿态时,叶片在轴向上的损伤变形达到60.887 mm。研究结果对航空发动机风扇叶片抗鸟撞设计具有一定参考价值。

The response of an aircraft engine to bird strikes has the fan blade as its primary component, and the flight safety of the aircraft is directly impacted by the dynamic damage caused by stress changes. A three-dimensional model of a near-real bird body was established in this paper based on the structural features of the “bar-headed goose”. The dynamic damage of the blade was studied in consideration of the take-off-climb and approach-landing stages where bird strike accidents are most likely to occur for aircraft, with the effects of different impact speeds, fan blade speeds, and bird impact attitudes being taken into account. It is indicated by the results that the axial damage and deformation of fan blades tend to be increased monotonically with the increasing of aero-engine speed and relative velocity of bird strike blades. Additionally, as the fan blade speed is increased, the stress peak value after a bird strike shows a V-shaped trend, with the smallest stress peak value being occurred at 2 005 r/min. Furthermore, as the contact area between the bird body and fan blade at the initial collision moment is increased, both the stress and damage degree of the blade are gradually increased across different postures. When impacted at a 90° posture, the axial damage deformation of the blade is reached to 60.887 mm. Valuable reference for anti-bird strike design considerations for aero-engine fan blades is provided by these research findings.

飞机在起飞-爬升、进近-着陆两个阶段过程中,最易受到外部冲击损伤而导致安全事故[1]。其中,飞鸟的撞击已经成为航空安全领域一个日益严峻的问题[2]。根据空客统计的数据显示[3],飞机所有前向的部件均有不同程度的鸟撞风险,其中仅航空发动机风扇叶片和进气道就占比高达41%,航空发动机作为飞机的关键构件,其在飞行过程中如若受到鸟类等外部物体的撞击,可能会造成严重后果[4]。 2019年8月15日,俄罗斯乌拉尔航空U6178航班在起飞后遭遇鸟击,造成两个引擎失效,最终飞机紧急降落在机场附近的农田中。2024年11月10日,海南航空HU438航班在起飞阶段右侧发动机遭遇鸟击,为确保安全机组迅速决策按程序返航。鸟撞飞机事故的频繁发生,突显了飞机在飞行过程中受到外部冲击安全性能的重要性。
当鸟体与发动机叶片发生撞击后,鸟体会被打散进入发动机进气口,可能会导致发动机风扇叶片的变形和断裂[5],该种情况可能引发发动机的喘振,严重时会导致发动机的停车和起火,对飞机的飞行安全构成严重威胁。航空发动机风扇叶片作为鸟撞航空发动机的首要响应部件,其性能直接影响到飞机的飞行安全。因此,对航空发动机叶片在鸟撞事故中的动态响应特性进行深入研究具有重要意义。
在每一个新型号发动机研制中,地面实验是必须的[6],但在鸟撞飞机研究领域,受制于试验法的高成本,可重复性低等原因,该研究领域多用数值模拟的方法进行研究,其具有成本低、安全、高效等优点,基于此中外学者目前多采用数值模拟的方法进行鸟撞航空发动机叶片的相关研究。此外,中外学者为简化仿真过程,鸟体模型多用胶囊体、圆柱体等模型代替真实鸟体[7-8]。Meguid等[9]基于Ansys/LS-Dyna软件,研究了半球形圆柱体、直圆柱体和椭球体鸟体模型在不同的长径比下撞击柔性航空发动机风扇叶片的冲击行为。结果表明,撞击初始阶段鸟体与目标之间的初始接触面积会对峰值撞击力产生显著影响。鸟撞击刚性面板和柔性风扇叶片的长宽比对标准化冲击力和冲量几乎没有影响。Wang等[10]研究了真实鸟击对宽弦钛合金风扇叶片抗鸟击和气动性能的影响,对旋转式风扇叶片分别进行了实际实验和数值研究。最后通过胶囊鸟体模型仿真分析与实验结果进行对比,验证了基于SPH方法的显式动力学数值模拟能够准确模拟鸟击对风扇叶片造成的损伤。王斌等[11]基于PAM-CRASH仿真软件建立了“圆柱体”鸟体模型,发现大鸟撞击相比于中鸟鸟群和小鸟鸟群,对于叶片的撞击结果更加恶劣。郭应文等[12]通过建立“胶囊体”鸟体模型,研究不同鸟速与不同撞击角度下发动机风扇叶片的动态响应,得出相同速度下,发动机轴线成30°角斜撞击时比平行于发动机轴线撞击时的损伤大。
为研究发动机叶片在工作中受到鸟体撞击后的响应特点,现建立近真实鸟体模型,通过SPH法进行深入研究,该方法可以模拟鸟与叶片碰撞被打散后的运动行为,能够为提高飞行器安全性和优化设计提供一定的理论支持。
CF6-50是通用电气公司的一种高涵道比涡轮风扇发动机,如图1所示,本文研究以该型号发动机为原型进行建模并开展数值模拟分析。
该涡扇发动机的风扇主要是由叶片和轮毂组成,叶片数量共有38片。选取该部分建立叶片的三维几何模型。
叶片采用TC4钛合金材料进行数值模拟分析,其杨氏模量为135 GPa,密度为4 430 kg/m3,泊松比为0.33,初始屈服应力A为1 060 MPa。本文研究采用 Johnson-Cook 本构模型描述TC4钛合金的应力应变关系[13-14],其参数如表1所示。

式(1)中:σs为塑性流动应力;n为硬化指数;T*为无量纲温度;m为软热化指数;B为硬化常数;C为应变速率常数;ε为等效塑性应变; ε · *为无量纲应变率。
采用四/六面体单元划分网格,共有214 114个单元。将航空发动机风扇叶片的建模进行简化,将叶片的根部与轮毂视为一体。整体有限元模型如图2所示。
目前,国际上多用胶囊体、椭球体等简化模型进行数值模拟分析[15],但简化鸟体模型的外形与真实鸟体之间存在着一定的差距,因此,为使仿真结果更加精确,本文研究以斑头雁为原型建立鸟体三维几何模型,如图3所示。
依照图示鸟体比例简化鸟喙、翅膀等部位,构建起近真实的斑头雁鸟体模型。
为更好地描述鸟体受到撞击后的响应情况,选用SPH法进行网格划分,SPH方法是一种纯拉格朗日,具有无网格、自适应属性的流体动力学求解方法,该方法中每一个粒子都具有独立的质量、密度及物理属性。SPH法通常分为两个关键步骤:第一个是场函数的积分表示;第二个是粒子近似表示[16]

式中:W为光滑核函数,由于W函数在数值计算中难以直接实现,通常用连续函数W(x-x')作为其近似,x-x'为水平方向上的差值,h为定义光滑函数W的影响区域的光滑长度;Wij=W(xi-xj,h),其中ji为粒子编号;mjρj分别为粒子j的质量和密度;N为粒子的总数。
本文研究拟合图3“斑头雁”外形,在建立鸟体模型后生成了9 170个SPH粒子。为简化计算,该鸟体模型下肢腿和脚部结构省略。鸟体翼展为700 mm,身体纵向总长为523.5 mm,质量为2.5 kg,如图4所示。
鸟体与叶片的钛金属材料不同,鸟体是由肌肉等构成,为了模拟近真实鸟体的变形情况,使得仿真结果更加精确,因此本文研究中鸟体采用MAT_NULL本构模型,密度ρ取值为950 kg/m3。鸟体状态方程采用EOS_LINEAR_POLYNOMIAL方程,其压力表示为

式(4)中:μ=ρ/ρ0-1,其中,ρ/ρ0为当前密度与初始密度比值;E为材料当前单位体积内能;C0~ C6 为状态方程系数[17-19];鸟体状态方程参数如表2所示。
将航空发动机风扇叶片面盘分成3个部分:叶尖区、叶中区和叶根区。假定飞鸟可能飞向3个区域中的任何位置,则可以计算出鸟体飞向叶尖、叶中和叶根区域的概率分别为PfjPfzPfg,Syj为叶尖区域面积,Syz为叶中区域面积,Syg为叶根区域面积,Sq为整个叶片区域面积[20],如图5所示。

由式(5)可得鸟体飞向叶尖的概率最大,概率为40.2%。因此,本文研究选取发动机叶片的叶尖区域为研究对象,并让叶片以左旋方式旋转,进行数值模拟和损伤性能的研究。叶片旋转方向如图6所示。
鸟撞事故发生在飞机起飞-爬升和进近-着陆阶段的概率相对较高。图7所示为1990—2018 年美国民航飞机各阶段发生鸟撞次数[21]
飞机在不同飞行状态下的发动机叶片转速各不相同,飞机在执行飞行任务时各阶段的风扇转速均有明显区别。图8所示为飞机飞行五阶段。
本文研究中选取某型航班其中一次飞行时,单次起落循环风扇转速波动统计数据[21],如图9所示。因为飞机在起飞、爬升和降落阶段发生鸟撞的概率明显高于其他阶段,而831、2 005、2 769 r/min 3个转速在起飞、爬升和降落阶段均有出现,因此本文研究中选取该条件为发动机转速变量。
飞机在不同阶段有不同的飞行速度,因此本文研究选取不同鸟体撞击速度进行分析。飞机在不同飞行高度时的发动机转速也不相同,因此选取不同发动机转速进行分析。飞鸟撞击时,因为飞机在不同飞行阶段的俯仰角度是不断变化的,因此鸟体在撞击航空发动机风扇叶片时的姿态也各不相同,因此选取不同鸟体姿态进行分析。
在鸟撞事故发生时,因为撞击速度和风扇叶片转速不同,会导致与鸟体发生撞击的叶片数量不同,即鸟体并未与全部叶片发生碰撞,仅有一部分叶片受到了鸟体冲击,因此文本研究中仅选取一部分叶片进行分析研究。图10所示为仿真模拟整体模型。在撞击发生时,最先发生撞击的为1号叶片,因此对1号~6号叶片进行分析研究。叶片编号如图11所示。
选取不同速度撞击、不同风扇叶片转速撞击和不同鸟体姿态撞击3个条件进行研究。风扇叶片在被撞击前,会因旋转而产生初始应力,因此需要先得出风扇叶片的初始应力分布。风扇叶片在0.4 ms,转速为831、2 005、2 769 r/min时的应力如图12所示。从图12可知, 叶片在0.4 ms,转速为831、2 005、2 769 r/min时的应力值分别为27.859、161.92、308.24 MPa。
本文研究选取的撞击速度为鸟体与风扇叶片的相对速度:140、160、180 m/s。该条件下的航空发动机叶片转速为831 r/min。

图13所示为叶片在140 m/s、160 m/s、180 m/s鸟撞条件下的应力云图。表3所示为叶片在140、160、180 m/s鸟撞条件下,在1.5、3、4 ms时刻的应力大小,以及在撞击过程中的应力峰值大小。
在对不同速度下,鸟撞航空发动机叶片进行研究后,得出当速度从140 m/s变化到160 m/s,再到180 m/s时,叶片的应力大小呈增加趋势。当速度达到180 m/s时,叶片的应力值峰值最大。这表明在高速飞行时,撞击速度越大,叶片受到的应力更大,可能导致更严重的损伤。
图14所示为鸟撞航空发动机叶片在不同速度撞击条件下的应力随时间变化情况曲线图。图15所示为在不同撞击速度条件下叶片的轴向变形量随时间变化趋势,其变形量峰值为递增趋势,最大变形量分别为18.631、23.8、29.637 mm。
曲线趋势清晰地表明了在不同撞击速度条件下叶片所受应力与叶片在轴向方向上损伤变形量的变化趋势。
对不同发动机转速下,鸟撞航空发动机叶片进行了研究,转速为831、2 005、2 769 r/min。该条件下的撞击速度为140 m/s。
图16所示为叶片在831、 2 005、2 769 r/min鸟撞条件下的应力云图。
表4所示为叶片在831、 2 005、2 769 r/min鸟撞条件下,在1.5、3、4 ms时刻的应力大小,以及在撞击过程中的应力峰值大小。
随着转速从2 005 r/min减小到831 r/min,叶片因撞击所受的应力值逐渐增加,当转速从2 005 r/min增加到2 769 r/min时,叶片因撞击所受的应力同样逐渐增加。
图17所示为鸟撞航空发动机叶片在不同风扇叶片转速条件下的应力随时间变化情况。图18所示为在不同叶片转速条件撞击下,叶片的轴向变形量趋势,其变形量峰值为递增趋势,最大变形量分别为18.631、20.747、54.715 mm。
曲线趋势清晰地表明了在不同转速条件下鸟撞风扇叶片的应力变化及叶片在轴向上的损伤变形量趋势。
在实际鸟撞事故发生的过程中,鸟体撞击风扇叶片的姿态会出现多种情况。鸟体姿态选取为绕Z轴0°、绕Z轴45°、绕Z轴90°。如图19所示,该条件下的叶片转速为2 769 r/min,撞击速度为140 m/s。
图20所示为叶片在0°、45°、90°鸟撞条件下的应力云图。表5所示为叶片在0°、45°、90°鸟撞条件下,在1.5、3、4 ms时刻的应力大小,以及在撞击过程中的应力峰值大小。图21所示为鸟撞航空发动机叶片在不同鸟体姿态下的应力随时间变化情况。随着撞击姿态角度的增加,鸟体与叶片初始接触面积增加,叶片的应力峰值的大小逐渐增加,并在90°条件下达到最大,应力峰值为1 324.3 MPa。这表明在不同鸟体姿态下,与叶片初始接触面积增大,则叶片受到的应力会逐渐增加。
图22所示为在不同鸟体姿态条件下叶片的轴向变形量随时间变化趋势,其变形量峰值呈递增趋势,最大变形量分别为54.715、56.341、60.887 mm。即90°姿态撞击下的叶片轴向最大变形量大于0°姿态和45°姿态下的轴向变形量,且0°姿态与45°姿态的轴向变形量基本相同。曲线趋势清晰地表明了风扇叶片在不同鸟体姿态条件下叶片的应力变化及叶片在轴向上的损伤变形量趋势。
通过数值模拟的方法,研究了TC4钛合金风扇叶片在不同鸟撞速度、不同鸟体姿态以及不同发动机转速下的鸟撞力学响应情况,并得出以下结论。
(1)当航空发动机叶片转速达到831 r/min,鸟体相对风扇叶片撞击速度为180 m/s时,叶片应力峰值为1 221.5 MPa,高于相对撞击速度140 m/s与160 m/s的叶片应力峰值,其叶片损伤最为严重,这表明随着撞击速度的提高,会导致叶片所受应力及损害程度增加。
(2)鸟体以不同姿态撞击风扇叶片时,鸟体与叶片初始接触面积的增大,将导致风扇叶片所受应力和损伤也会随之增大,且在90°撞击条件下,在相同时间内应力增长最大,叶片损伤最为严重,表明鸟体初始与叶片接触面积越大,对叶片造成的撞击损害会更为严重。
(3)在鸟撞发动机叶片过程中,随着风扇叶片转速减小,叶片转速在831 r/min时,叶片受到撞击后的应力大小高于转速2 005 r/min时发生撞击后所受到的应力大小,随着转速的增加,当转速为2 769 r/min时,此时叶片发生撞击后的应力最大,三个条件的应力峰值呈现V字形趋势。随着风扇叶片转速的增加,叶片因飞鸟撞击而在轴向上的变形量呈递增趋势。这表明发动机风扇叶片的转速大小对叶片损害程度有显著影响。
