Aiming at the problem of frequent switching due to transient link changes in the heterogeneous network of indoor visible light communication (VLC) and radio frequency (RF) communication, a decision-making mechanism based on spatio-temporal characteristics for VLC/RF networks were proposed. Firstly, in the offline sampling stage, the database was constructed by processing and converting feature data such as spatial location, bandwidth, received signal strength, delay and signal-to-noise ratio of indoor grid points into proportional weights in the controller. Then, in the real-time decision-making phase, the terminal feeded the collected feature data back to the controller to determine the location of the user terminal by comparing it with the information in the database of the controller, and the prioritized link of the current location in the database was extracted and connected. Finally, the link decision model was used to derive the network communication index in real time, and the optimal link was solved by aggregating the proportional weights of the links in the database with the network communication index through the decision function, and the communication quality was improved using the resident timer. Simulation results show that the switching algorithm effectively reduces the average number of switching times and switching interruption probability compared with the traditional fuzzy logic switching algorithm and the vertical switching decision algorithm with equivalent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The algorithm can realize intelligent management of indoor heterogeneous networks and improve the quality of user experience.

针对室内可见光通信 (visible light communication, VLC) 与射频 (radio frequency, RF) 通信异构网络中易因瞬态链路变化而导致频繁切换的问题,提出了一种基于时空特性的 VLC/RF 网络决策机制。首先,在离线采样阶段,通过对室内网格点的空间位置、带宽、接收信号强度、时延与信噪比等特征数据,在控制器中对特征数据进行处理并转换成比例权重,构建数据库。然后,在实时决策阶段,终端将采集到的特征数据反馈给控制器,通过跟控制器数据库中的信息比对来确定用户终端位置,提取出数据库中当前位置的优先链路并连接。最后,利用链路决策模型实时推导出网络通信指数,通过决策函数对数据库中的链路比例权重与网络通信指数聚合计算,求解出最优链路,并使用驻留定时器提高通信质量。仿真结果表明,本文切换算法与传统的模糊逻辑切换算法和等效信噪比 (signal-to-noise ratio, SNR) 垂直切换决策算法相比,有效降低了平均切换次数、切换中断概率。本文算法可以实现室内异构网络的智能化管理,改善用户体验质量。

针对室内可见光通信 (visible light communication, VLC) 与射频 (radio frequency, RF) 通信异构网络中易因瞬态链路变化而导致频繁切换的问题,提出了一种基于时空特性的 VLC/RF 网络决策机制。首先,在离线采样阶段,通过对室内网格点的空间位置、带宽、接收信号强度、时延与信噪比等特征数据,在控制器中对特征数据进行处理并转换成比例权重,构建数据库。然后,在实时决策阶段,终端将采集到的特征数据反馈给控制器,通过跟控制器数据库中的信息比对来确定用户终端位置,提取出数据库中当前位置的优先链路并连接。最后,利用链路决策模型实时推导出网络通信指数,通过决策函数对数据库中的链路比例权重与网络通信指数聚合计算,求解出最优链路,并使用驻留定时器提高通信质量。仿真结果表明,本文切换算法与传统的模糊逻辑切换算法和等效信噪比 (signal-to-noise ratio, SNR) 垂直切换决策算法相比,有效降低了平均切换次数、切换中断概率。本文算法可以实现室内异构网络的智能化管理,改善用户体验质量。

Aiming at the problem of frequent switching due to transient link changes in the heterogeneous network of indoor visible light communication (VLC) and radio frequency (RF) communication, a decision-making mechanism based on spatio-temporal characteristics for VLC/RF networks were proposed. Firstly, in the offline sampling stage, the database was constructed by processing and converting feature data such as spatial location, bandwidth, received signal strength, delay and signal-to-noise ratio of indoor grid points into proportional weights in the controller. Then, in the real-time decision-making phase, the terminal feeded the collected feature data back to the controller to determine the location of the user terminal by comparing it with the information in the database of the controller, and the prioritized link of the current location in the database was extracted and connected. Finally, the link decision model was used to derive the network communication index in real time, and the optimal link was solved by aggregating the proportional weights of the links in the database with the network communication index through the decision function, and the communication quality was improved using the resident timer. Simulation results show that the switching algorithm effectively reduces the average number of switching times and switching interruption probability compared with the traditional fuzzy logic switching algorithm and the vertical switching decision algorithm with equivalent signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The algorithm can realize intelligent management of indoor heterogeneous networks and improve the quality of user experience.

由于高速互联网以及大量连接设备的出现,使得射频 (radio frequency, RF) 通信的频谱资源瓶颈日渐凸显[1]。在这种情况下,可见光通信 (visible light communication, VLC) 技术以其高传输速率、低干扰、频谱资源丰富等优势从诸多通信技术中脱颖而出。然而,VLC技术存在光强衰减迅速、覆盖范围有限的问题,导致移动用户难以获得稳定且有效的通信服务。现有文献提出将 VLC 与射频系统相结合,构建一个覆盖范围广、通信质量高、可靠性强的网络体系,来缓解视距传输的中断问题。文献[2]中在长期演进技术(long term evolution, LTE)、无线局域网(wireless local area network, WLAN)、VLC 融合网络下,提出了一种情景感知网络选择方案,获得了更好的传输性能。文献[3]使用 RF 作为 VLC 系统的补充技术,通过硬开关 (hard switching, HS) 和软开关 (soft switching, SS) 方法实施,提高了系统吞吐量。文献[4]中提出了一个对于可见光通信与射频通信异构网络的调查式介绍,从系统设计的框架,在网络架构、小区部署、多址接入等方面来证明异构网络对独立网络的优越性,并且说明了异构网络的应用潜力。通过异构网络的融合,各种无线接入技术得以相互补充,进而显著提升网络资源利用率。
在无线异构网络中,网络切换分别有水平切换和垂直切换两种方式。相比较于水平切换,垂直切换是用户移动性管理的核心技术。因此,合理构建移动用户网络切换决策算法是保障异构网络性能的关键。文献[5]中提出了一种基于隐马尔可夫模型的 VLC-WiFi 系统的自动垂直切换(vertical handover, VHO) 算法,降低了模型的计算复杂度并准确地预测了下一次切换。文献[6]提出一种基于网络分组的切换判决算法,该算法通过对网络的综合性能比较,缓解了负载不均问题并提高了网络性能。文献[7]提出了一种基于多属性和神经网络的异构集成网络垂直切换算法,该算法采用网络下载速率作为预测目标来选择最优的无线网络进行垂直切换决策,有效提高了切换成功率。文献[8]提出了一种基于通信盲区停留时间的横向-纵向协同切换策略,利用信号接收机的误码率确定室内通信盲区,减少信道传输中的多径干扰的技术,有效提高了信号通信的稳定性与通信质量,并且降低了功耗。文献[9]中提出了一种用于室内可见光通信异构网络的实时应用分类垂直切换方案,确保了即使在改变运动模式的情况下也有有效的切换决策,确保了稳定的通信质量,显著减少了不必要的切换成本,提高了用户体验质量。
考虑到无线异构网络场景的高动态性及其所引起的不确定性的问题,结合室内定位、历史数据、实时模糊系统模型,提出一种考虑时间和空间的网络决策机制。从用户移动位置、历史指标数据等多个维度入手,利用模糊逻辑系统聚合指标推理计算网络通信指数。建立移动用户的链路切换服务,构建实时链路决策模型,从而提高网络资源利用率与用户满意度。
本文中室内 VLC/RF 异构网络通信系统,系统场景如图1 所示。室内同时存在 VLC 节点 (access point, AP)、RF AP 和控制器,在该异构网络中,RF AP 被安置在房间的角落且能够覆盖整个房间的射频信号。天花板上安装若干个 LED 并配有光电 (photo detector, PD) 接收器,每个 LED 包含众多低功率 LED 芯片。移动用户终端与固定用户终端分布在房间中,每个终端配有一个 LED 和一个 PD 接收器。AP 与每个终端之间存在双向无线光链路,传播路径为视距链路 (line-of-sight, LoS),每个终端与控制器单独连接,终端之间不能直接通信,且由于房间内存在障碍物,VLC 链路中存在遮挡的影响。
VLC 信道模型由视距链路和反射链路 (non-line-of-sight, NLoS) 两部分组成,根据相关文献的研究,每条 VLC 链路都由视距传输分量和光反射分量组成,但由于接收方配置的 PD 接收器接收到的95%总功率都来自于 LoS 分量。因此,本文中仅考虑 LoS 链路的影响。
模糊系统作为一种能够处理不确定和模糊信息的智能系统,具有很好的适应性和鲁棒性,被引入到异构网络垂直切换中。模糊系统可以根据模糊规则和模糊逻辑推理,处理并解决模糊和不确定的问题,从而提高异构网络垂直切换的准确性和可靠性,本文中采用低维多级模型,结构分为三级。
(1)模糊化模块:模糊化将参数值用模糊语言集合来表述,通过隶属度函数的计算,将参数值映射到 [0,1] 区间内,生成相应的隶属度值,该数值用于量化参数在模糊集合中的隶属程度。本文模型中隶属度函数使用高斯、三角形和梯形隶属度函数结合设计,将模糊语言变量划分为高 (B)、较高 (PB)、中 (M)、较低 (PS) 和低 (S) 五个等级。本文设计的隶属度函数如图2所示。
(2)模糊推理模块:模糊推理是系统中用于推理功能的模块,根据系统输入的不确定性信息,模拟人脑的思维过程,以提供恰当的决策结果。为了降低系统开销,本文中采用低维多级的模糊模型,根据参数的模糊逻辑等级,构建一个精确且高效的模糊规则库[10]。经过精确的模糊推理过程,可以得出通信指数的模糊数值。模糊规则如表1所示。
(3)去模糊化模块:去模糊化是一个重要的环节,要求可以精确表达隶属度函数的计算结果。通常采用的方法包括重心法和最大隶属度法等。在对比这些方法时,发现重心法具有独特的优势:即使输入信号发生微小变动,其输出结果也会相应地发生调整。本文中的去模糊化模块均采用重心法,表达式为

本文中主要研究 VLC 到 RF 网络决策的过程,当启动决策时,通过离线阶段构建的数据库和实时阶段使用各种物理指标与模糊逻辑链路决策机制的协同决策,并且引入驻留定时器机制,能够有效感知和衡量不同网络性能,并作出更准确的切换触发判断。
(1)离线采样阶段。在离线阶段,需要在控制器中建立一个数据库。将室内区域进行网格化处理并使用接收设备对各网格点逐个采集,将各点空间位置、接收信号强度、时延、带宽和信噪比等数据处理并计算。考虑到两种网络所采用的接入技术不同,简单地比较两种信噪比并不合适。因此,将最大传输速率相等作为条件,利用等效转换方法对两种网络进行转换。在固定信噪比和带宽的场景下,RF 信道和 VLC 信道的香农容量公式为

式中:rRFrVLC分别为 RF 与 VLC 的最大传输速率;γRFγVLC分别为 RF 与 VLC 的信噪比;w 为带宽;ΓRF为在通断键控 (on-off keying, OOK) 调制时,将香农极限对应信噪比与所需的信噪比取差值,再用此差值减去编码增益6 dB,ΓRF = 3 dB[11];γVLC为未编码 OOK 调制的信噪比阈值与对应香农极限的差值11.4 dB[12],再减去编码增益6 dB[13],γVLC = 5.4 dB。当可见光和与射频通信系统提供给用户相等的传输速率,即rRF=rVLC时,求解此方程,就可得出γVLCγRF的关系为

由式 (4) 可得,传输速率相同时,将RF的接收信噪比γRF转换为等效信噪比γRF(VLC)。图3所示为VLC 与等效 RF 信噪比关系图。控制器通过计算得到转换的 RF 等效信噪比后,结合当前位置的物理指标计算得出比例权重,将比例权重高的链路定义为优先链路,建立室内分布数据库并在控制器中储存。
(2)实施决策阶段。当用户终端进入室内后,首先与控制器连接传输信号,采集 VLC 和 RF 信道的实时特征数据,将滤波后的数据上传至控制器,通过数据来确定终端的位置,提取数据库中的历史信息并优先选择数据库中当前位置的最优链路连接。在此基础上,使用决策模型对 VLC及RF信道进行推理,采用重心法求解出两种信道的推理结果,输出的推理结果是网络通信指数。VLC与RF信道的切换阈值计算公式为

式(5)中:DVLCDRF为 VLC 与RF 信道的切换阈值;PVLCPRF为 VLC 与RF信道的比例权重;WVLCWRF为 VLC 与 RF 信道的网络通信指数。当控制器得到 VLC 与 RF 的切换阈值以后,对 VLC 的通信指数和 RF 的通信指数取差值。引入差值门限是为了进一步比较当前链路和目标链路的网络状况,如果目标链路的通信质量仅略优于当前链路,则无需切换至目标链路,从而降低终端在执行切换方面的开销。
目标链路DT与当前链路DS的差值为

将ΔD与本文设定的切换门限 Dth 进行对比,ΔDDth时,触发网络链路切换;否则,不触发网络链路切换。针对可见光通信系统中易被短暂遮挡和阻塞,从而使其在各链路间频繁地切换的问题,本机制使用驻留定时器来改善。当终端使用可见光系统通信时,由于终端运动或阻塞而使通讯受阻,则启动该定时器。当定时器被启动后,开始计时等待,若超过驻留时间的最大值,启动链路切换,相反,若未超过则不启动链路切换。
β1β2设为可见光通信系统中正常通信和中断通信的平均时长,则11与12是 VLC 链路从中断通信到正常通信和正常通信到中断通信的速率。所以链路中断通信后的复原概率为

式(9)中:tmax为驻留时间的最大值;CB为可见光通信系统中断通信的次数。选择适当的驻留时间最大值是提高整个系统性能的关键。tmax的最佳取值依赖于实际的室内环境,想要同时兼顾瞬态与稳态两种特性,就需选择一个最适合当前室内环境的值。所以离线采样阶段中,根据实际室内环境反复采集并模拟仿真,从不同的驻留时间中选出最适合的值。由于室内通信环境存在动态性与不确定性,因此,当某个位置的决策结果与数据库中记录的优先链路存在差异时,将其记录到控制器中。如果在相同的位置,链路决策的输出结果与数据库中记录的优先链路有多次差异,超出控制器的临界值,就会将该位置的可见光与射频通信的链路比例权重再次计算并更新到数据库中,从而提高了决策的准确性。
本文中采用MATLAB软件对所提出的切换决策机制进行仿真。建立一个室内房间模型,在房间中设置2个 VLC 与1个 RF,假设 RF 信号能够覆盖整个房间。终端在室内进行随机移动,可见光通信系统会由于终端位置变化,从而出现随机通信中断或信号减弱情况。将房间信号划分为20个网格,对单个移动终端进行研究。为了验证本文所提机制的优越性,本文将其与传统的模糊逻辑切换算法、等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法方案进行对比分析,因此本文采用切换中断率、平均切换次数与用户满意度来进行度量。
图4所示为本文提出的 VLC/RF 决策机制(I-FUZ)网络状态图。图5所示为模糊逻辑切换算法(FUZ)网络状态图。图6所示为等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法网络状态图。通过比较图4图5,可以发现在模糊逻辑切换算法中,一旦检测到RF的网络通信指数高于VLC的网络通信指数,便立即进行接入。而在 VLC/RF 决策机制中,若目标链路与当前链路的网络通信指数差值超过设定的切换门限,则启动驻留定时器。驻留定时器结束后,若 VLC 的网络通信指数恢复到高于 RF 的水平,则决策机制判断无需切换网络链路,以减少终端通信链路的切换次数和中断率。通过比较图4图6,可以发现在等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法中,由于仅考虑单一物理指标,移动终端容易在网络间频繁切换,导致切换次数增多,从而使移动终端无法获得稳定的网络通信服务。
图7所示为驻留时间的变化情况。随着采集时隙的增加,通信信号被阻塞的次数也增加,导致驻留定时器启动次数增多。驻留时间随着通信信号被阻塞的概率变化。当阻塞概率增加时,驻留时间减少;相反,驻留时间增加。通过驻留时间的变化,可以提升终端通信网络的连续性。
图8所示为本文机制和传统的模糊逻辑切换算法 (fuzzy logic, FL)、等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法的用户满意度,用户满意度通过网络通信质量与切换损耗的比值体现。由图8可知,本文算法的用户满意度均高于其他两种算法。本文中考虑了切换损耗这一参数,使得决策结果基于网络和用户的结合考量。相比之下,模糊逻辑切换算法和等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法未考虑切换损耗这一因素,因此判决结果未考虑用户端。如果网络通信质量较好但切换损耗较高,网络性价比会降低,从而影响用户满意度。
图9所示为三种算法的平均切换次数对比图。可以看到,传统的模糊逻辑切换算法平均切换次数较高,等效SNR 垂直切换决策算法较低,这是因为等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法将最大传输速率相等作为条件,把 VLC SNR 转换为等效的 RF SNR 用于切换触发,避免了其他干扰,可有效减少网络切换的次数。而本文提出的机制由于引入了室内定位系统以及驻留定时器,且将切换次数作为优化目标,因此其切换次数相比单纯的模糊逻辑切换算法更低,进一步能降低切换的乒乓效应,提高用户服务体验。
图10所示为在相同室内条件下,三种算法的切换中断率变化趋势。可以观察到,随着实验次数的增加,本文算法的切换中断率始终低于其他两种算法。模糊逻辑切换算法和等效 SNR 垂直切换决策算法均采用固定阈值,导致终端容易在网络间频繁切换,因此切换中断率较高。相比之下,本文算法在决策过程中考虑了用户的实时室内位置,并采用了驻留定时器机制,使得切换决策更加灵活,并有效地降低了切换中断率。
本文提出了一种基于时空特性的 VLC/RF 网络切换决策方法,分别介绍其中切换决策的两个阶段,包括离线采样阶段及实施决策阶段。在离线采样阶段,使用控制器将室内网络状况分格计算并存储,在终端进入室内时获取室内网络反馈信息,从而节约了对用户所处位置网络状态进行判断所需的时间。在实施决策阶段引入驻留定时器,可以使网络选择策略更加灵活,有助于快速确定接入目标网络。仿真结果表明,本文决策算法与传统的两种算法进行对比,切换中断率与切换次数下降明显,能够提供更高的用户满意度,为用户提供更优质的网络体验。
