Grouting pavements are susceptible to cracking, which can significantly reduce their service life. For this reason, water-borne epoxy resin (WER) was added to the grouting materials to improve the performance of grouting asphalt mixtures. Grouting materials with different levels of WER were prepared and characterised for their flow properties, setting time, mechanical strength and micromorphology. The road performance of the grouting asphalt mixtures was evaluated through wheel tracking test, low-temperature bending test and water immersion Marshall test. The results show that, WER can form a membrane structure on the surface of hydration products, improving the flexibility of grouting materials. However, it also delays the setting time of grouting materials. The addition of WER slightly diminishes the high-temperature performance of grouting asphalt mixtures, but improves the low-temperature cracking resistance and water stability of grouting asphalt mixtures. In particular, 7.5% WER increases the low-temperature destructive strain of grouting asphalt mixtures by 29.2%.

灌浆路面容易发生开裂问题,影响路面服役寿命。为此,在灌浆料中添加水性环氧树脂(water-borne epoxy resin, WER)来改善灌浆复合混合料的性能。制备不同WER含量的灌浆料,并对其流动性能、凝结时间、力学强度和微观形貌进行表征。通过车辙试验、低温弯曲试验和浸水马歇尔试验对灌浆复合混合料的路用性能进行评价。结果表明,WER可以在水化产物表面形成膜结构,有利于提高灌浆料的柔韧性,但会延迟灌浆料的凝结时间。WER的添加会小幅度降低灌浆复合混合料的高温性能,但能提高灌浆复合混合料低温抗裂性能和水稳定性。特别地,7.5%WER使灌浆复合混合料的低温破坏应变提高了29.2%。

灌浆路面容易发生开裂问题,影响路面服役寿命。为此,在灌浆料中添加水性环氧树脂(water-borne epoxy resin, WER)来改善灌浆复合混合料的性能。制备不同WER含量的灌浆料,并对其流动性能、凝结时间、力学强度和微观形貌进行表征。通过车辙试验、低温弯曲试验和浸水马歇尔试验对灌浆复合混合料的路用性能进行评价。结果表明,WER可以在水化产物表面形成膜结构,有利于提高灌浆料的柔韧性,但会延迟灌浆料的凝结时间。WER的添加会小幅度降低灌浆复合混合料的高温性能,但能提高灌浆复合混合料低温抗裂性能和水稳定性。特别地,7.5%WER使灌浆复合混合料的低温破坏应变提高了29.2%。

Grouting pavements are susceptible to cracking, which can significantly reduce their service life. For this reason, water-borne epoxy resin (WER) was added to the grouting materials to improve the performance of grouting asphalt mixtures. Grouting materials with different levels of WER were prepared and characterised for their flow properties, setting time, mechanical strength and micromorphology. The road performance of the grouting asphalt mixtures was evaluated through wheel tracking test, low-temperature bending test and water immersion Marshall test. The results show that, WER can form a membrane structure on the surface of hydration products, improving the flexibility of grouting materials. However, it also delays the setting time of grouting materials. The addition of WER slightly diminishes the high-temperature performance of grouting asphalt mixtures, but improves the low-temperature cracking resistance and water stability of grouting asphalt mixtures. In particular, 7.5% WER increases the low-temperature destructive strain of grouting asphalt mixtures by 29.2%.

灌浆复合混合料是在多孔沥青混合料(空隙率为20%~30%)中灌注水泥基灌浆材料而形成的一种复合材料[1],作为一种“刚柔并济”的路面材料,其由骨架嵌挤型的多孔沥青混合料与密实的水泥基材料共同抵抗车辆荷载作用[2-3],可以有效缓解因高温重载条件引起的车辙病害,且密实的水泥基材料还可以阻止水分对混合料内部的侵入[4]。因此,灌浆复合抗车辙路面常被应用于高温重载路段[5]。但由于硬化后的水泥基灌浆材料与沥青混合料的刚度差异较大[6],灌浆复合混合料在低温或者循环荷载作用下容易产生开裂,严重地影响了灌浆沥青路面的服役寿命[6-7]
对水泥基灌浆料进行增柔设计,有利于改善灌浆复合混合料的抗裂性能[8-9],研究人员通常采用纤维、胶粉等材料提升灌浆料的柔韧性[10]。但纤维和胶粉会降低灌浆材料的流动性能[11-12],导致灌浆料在多孔沥青混合料内的灌注效果不佳,且对灌浆复合混合料的抗裂性能提升幅度较小,难以满足工程应用的要求[13]。作为建筑领域常见的聚合物材料之一,水性环氧树脂(water-borne epoxy resin, WER)是环氧树脂以颗粒或液滴的形式分散在水中形成的稳定体系[14-16],其固化后具有良好的机械强度、柔韧性、耐化学腐蚀性和黏结性[17-19]。环氧树脂颗粒能够在水泥的水化产物上覆盖成膜,水化产物和聚合物两者相互交织[20-21],使得聚合物水泥材料兼顾强度和柔韧性[22],主要表现为抗折强度、黏结强度和柔韧性的提升[23-25]
鉴于WER的特点,以灌浆复合混合料的水泥基灌浆料为研究对象,评价WER掺量对水泥基灌浆料流动性能、凝结时间、力学性能及微观形貌的影响。并以此为基础,综合评价WER对灌浆复合混合料路用性能的影响,并提出WER在水泥基灌浆料中的最佳掺量,为灌浆复合抗车辙路面工程的抗裂设计提供相关参考。
采用水泥基灌浆料和WER(固含量为55%)进行WER灌浆料的制备。灌浆料的水固比(用水质量与水泥基灌浆料质量的比值,用水量为WER中的水量和新加水量之和)均为0.35。水泥基材料和WER的性能指标如表1表2所示。分别制备了WER固含量占灌浆料质量比为2.5%、5%、7.5%和10%的灌浆料,具体配比如表3所示。在拌和前先将WER和水进行搅拌混合,再将其与灌浆材料进行搅拌,搅拌300 s后将其倒入模具中在室温[(20±1) ℃]下养护至试验龄期。
采用SBS(styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer)沥青、玄武岩集料和石灰石矿粉进行多孔沥青混合料(PAC-13)配合比设计。PAC-13的级配设计结果如表4所示,沥青混合料的最佳沥青用量为3.7%。PAC-13试件的空隙率为24.7%,并且配合比设计结果满足析漏和飞散试验的相关要求[27]
将拌制后的灌浆料浆体均匀地灌注到多孔沥青混合料的空隙中,直到浆体已经充满多孔沥青混合料的空隙,完成后将试件置于标准条件[温度(20±1) ℃,湿度90%]下养护14 d。
依据《水泥基灌浆材料应用技术规范》(GB/T 50448—2015)[26]和《公路工程水泥及水泥混凝土试验规程》(JTG 3420—2020)[28],采用截锥圆模法获取灌浆料的扩散直径来评价其流动性能;采用维卡仪测试灌浆料的凝结时间;采用灌浆料的7 d抗折强度和抗压强度来表征其力学强度,抗压试件的尺寸为40 mm×40 mm×40 mm,仪器加载速度为50 N/s,抗折试件的尺寸为160 mm×40 mm×40 mm,仪器加载速度为2.4 kN/s。
将养护龄期14 d的灌浆料(A0、A5、A10)样品破碎成小块进行干燥,并利用扫描电子显微镜(scanning electron microscope,SEM)来表征灌浆料的微观形貌,设置加速电压为20 kV,放大图像倍数为1 000倍。
依据《公路工程沥青及沥青混合料试验规程》(JTG E20—2011)[29],对灌浆复合混合料开展高温车辙试验,低温弯曲试验和浸水马歇尔试验,以评价灌浆沥青混合料的高温性能、低温性能和水稳定性能。
图1可以看出,WER对灌浆料流动性能的影响效果较小。一方面,WER与水混合后,液体组分的黏性大幅降低,不会对流动性能产生较大的影响;另一方面,WER会在水化体系中引入气泡,而WER液滴及其引入的气泡可以发挥良好的润滑作用,提高了水化体系整体的流动渗透作用。
图2中可以看出,WER灌浆料的凝结时间均大于普通灌浆料,而且随着WER掺量的提高,其凝结时间显著提高。其中,A10初凝时间和终凝时间分别是A0初凝时间和终凝时间的4.3倍和8.3倍,表明WER会延缓水泥基材料的水化过程。这是因为,部分WER颗粒会包裹在水泥颗粒表面,阻断了水泥颗粒之间的接触,影响了水泥颗粒之间的相互搭接凝聚速度,进而延缓了灌浆材料的水化过程。
图3可以看出,WER灌浆料的抗压强度均低于普通灌浆料的抗压强度,且灌浆料的抗压强度随WER掺量的增长而降低。具体地,与A0相比,A10的抗压强度降低了24.0%。这是因为WER为柔性材料,具有较好的柔韧性,同时WER液滴将少量气体引入水化体系中,在灌浆料水化体系内部引入了“微小气孔”,未填充的气孔结构使灌浆料的密实度下降,有效受荷体积降低,因此灌浆料的抗压强度随WER掺量的增加而逐渐降低。与抗压强度变化规律不同,随着WER用量的增加,灌浆材料抗折强度呈现先增大后降低的变化趋势。与A0相比,A2.5的抗折强度提高了5.0%,A10的抗折强度降低了21.3%。在WER较低掺量下,WER提高了其柔韧性,且WER的引气作用导致灌浆料内部的“微小气孔”数量较少,对其受力截面的有效受荷面积影响较小。随着WER掺量的增大,尽管WER还能进一步提高其柔韧性,但是由于其自身的引气作用,气孔对抗折强度的影响要高于WER的增韧效果。
为了更好地评价灌浆料的柔韧性,采用灌浆料试件的压折比来评价灌浆料的柔韧性,计算结果如图4所示。由图4可知,WER灌浆料的压折比均低于普通灌浆料,随着WER用量的增加,灌浆料的压折比呈现先减小后增大的变化趋势,表明WER的添加有利于提高灌浆料的柔韧性。A7.5的压折比降低幅度最显著,与A0相比其压折比降低了22.0%。
图5(a)中可以看出,A0内部存在大量簇状的钙矾石(AFt)和不规则的C-S-H凝胶,两者相互连接构成三维网络结构,水化产物形成的体系致密。由图5(b)图5(c)可以看出,WER附着在灌浆料水化产物的表面,形成一层膜结构。这是因为随着水泥水化过程的进行,WER在水泥浆体中失水成膜,WER薄膜相互连接与水化产物共同形成相互交织的网络结构,并且随着掺量的提高,形成的薄膜覆盖面积增大。由于WER薄膜的柔韧性较为优异,灌浆料水化产物之间的韧性得到提升;同时,由于其本身具有引气作用,会使得水化体系内部蓬松多孔,密实度下降,但是过量的WER会严重影响水化体系的密实程度,这会对灌浆料的力学强度产生不利影响。综上分析可知,WER的在灌浆料内部的成膜裹覆作用有利于提升灌浆料宏观的韧性,但是过量WER的引气作用会对灌浆料的力学性能产生不利影响,这解释了第3.3节灌浆料强度的变化规律。
根据灌浆料的试验结果,灌浆料A10不仅需要消耗更多的WER,而且其力学性能降低最明显,结合材料性能和降低材料成本的目的,本文中将灌浆料A10剔除,采用灌浆料(A0、A2.5、A5和A7.5)制备了4种WER灌浆复合混合料,并分别命名为G0、G2.5、G5和G7.5。
图6可以看出,不同灌浆沥青混合料均具有较高的动稳定度,其动稳定度均超过10 000 次/mm。WER灌浆复合混合料的动稳定度均低于普通灌浆复合混合料,而且WER灌浆复合混合料的动稳定度随着WER用量的增加而逐渐降低。其中,与G0相比,G7.5的动稳定度降低了13.9%。不同灌浆复合混合料均采用相同的多孔沥青混合料,因此导致灌浆复合混合料高温性能下降是由于灌浆材料引起的。因而,灌浆复合混合料高温性能下降与灌浆料抗压强度下降有关。
图7中可以看出,随着WER掺量的增加,灌浆复合混合料的破坏应变提高,而劲度模量降低,表明WER可以有效提高灌浆复合混合料的低温抗裂性能。与G0相比,G7.5的破坏应变提高了29.2%,其劲度模量降低了21.2%。由灌浆料的强度测试和微观结构可知,WER在灌浆料的内部覆盖成膜,并与其水化产物相互交织,灌浆料的柔韧性提高,使得WER灌浆料与基体沥青混合料的刚度差异减小,一方面有利于灌浆料与基体沥青混合料产生更好的协同变形,进而提高灌浆沥青混合料整体破坏的应变;另一方面,灌浆沥青混合料整体的韧性得到提升,有利于提高灌浆沥青混合料破坏前的变形能。最终宏观试验表现为WER灌浆复合混合料的破坏应变提升,劲度模量下降。
图8中可以看出,WER的添加会降低灌浆复合混合料水浴0.5 h和48 h后的马歇尔稳定度。随着WER用量的增加,灌浆复合混合料的马歇尔稳定度降低,与G0相比,G7.5的马歇尔稳定度降低了13.5%,这也验证了灌浆复合混合料高温稳定性的试验结果。灌浆沥青混合料的残留稳定度均高于90%,表明灌浆复合混合料的水稳定性较好,而且WER的添加会进一步提高灌浆复合混合料的残余稳定度,但是灌浆复合混合料的残余稳定度变化较小,表明WER对灌浆复合混合料的水稳定性影响相对较小。
采用WER对灌浆材料进行改性,进而对灌浆复合混合料进行设计,研究了WER对灌浆材料流动性能、凝结时间、力学强度和微观形貌的影响,并通过制备灌浆复合混合料对其路用性能进行评价。得到的主要结论如下。
(1)WER对灌浆材料的流动性能影响较小,但会延长凝结时间。10% WER使灌浆料的初凝时间为普通灌浆料的4.3倍。
(2)WER在灌浆料内部形成膜结构并与水化产物相互交织形成网络结构,少量的WER有利于提高灌浆材料的柔韧性,过量的WER会降低灌浆料的抗压与抗折强度。
(3)WER会提高灌浆沥青混合料的低温抗裂性能和水稳定性,但是会降低其高温稳定性。其中,7.5%WER使灌浆沥青混合料的破坏应变提高了29.2%。
综上所述,WER可以用于灌浆复合混合料的设计,未来的研究中可以考虑采用多种聚合物材料对灌浆料进行设计,并结合路用性能和施工成本进行优选。
