To investigate driving workload on mountainous expressways, a naturalistic driving study was conducted utilizing an eye tracker to capture drivers' eye movement data in a realistic driving environment. Employing the change rate of pupil area, average saccade time, blink frequency, and fixation time ratio as primary indicators, a quantitative driving workload model was formulated through a combined weighting approach. This model aimed to reveal the driving workload evolution mechanism in typical scenarios of mountain expressways such as bridge and tunnel clusters, tunnel clusters, and short distances between tunnels and intersections. A clustering algorithm was applied to determine the classification thresholds for driving workload, thereby identifying high-risk scenarios characterized by heightened workload. The results show that the types of bridges within bridge-tunnel groups, the length of connection sections between tunnel groups, and the proximity of tunnels to interchanges significantly influence driving workload. A positive correlation was observed between driving workload and bridge size, whereas driving workload exhibited a negative correlation with the length of connection sections between tunnel groups and the distance from tunnels to interchanges. The thresholds of high, medium and low intensity levels of driving workload on mountain expressway are 0.54 and 0.26. Scenarios with bridge-tunnel groups composed of large or super-large bridges, tunnel groups with distances less than 300 m, and tunnel-to-interchange sections with distances less than 400 m were classified as high-risk driving workload scenarios. It is advisable to implement an intelligent lighting system within expressway tunnels, establish light-reducing structures at tunnel entrances, and in scenarios where tunnels are located in close proximity to interchanges, consider installing designated lane-changing zones within suitable tunnel sections to facilitate smooth lane transitions.

为研究山区高速公路驾驶负荷,组织驾驶人自然驾驶试验,使用眼动仪获取驾驶人自然驾驶状态下的眼动数据。以瞳孔面积变化率、平均扫视时间、眨眼频率和注视时间占比为关键变量,使用组合赋权法建立驾驶负荷量化模型,揭示桥隧群、隧道群、隧道至互通小间距等山区高速公路典型场景驾驶负荷演变化规律。运用K-means聚类算法,确定基于欧式距离度量的不同等级驾驶负荷阈值,界定高驾驶负荷危险场景。结果表明:桥隧群桥梁类型、隧道群连接段长度、隧道至互通间距均显著影响驾驶负荷;驾驶负荷与桥梁大小呈正相关,与隧道群连接段长度、隧道至互通间距呈负相关;山区高速公路驾驶负荷高、中、低强度等级的阈值为0.54和0.26;大桥或特大桥组成的桥隧群、间距小于300 m的隧道群以及间距小于400 m的隧道至互通路段为高驾驶负荷危险场景;建议在隧道内应用公路隧道智能照明系统、隧道洞口设置减光构筑物,隧道至互通小间距场景可考虑在隧道内适宜区段设置允许换道区域。

为研究山区高速公路驾驶负荷,组织驾驶人自然驾驶试验,使用眼动仪获取驾驶人自然驾驶状态下的眼动数据。以瞳孔面积变化率、平均扫视时间、眨眼频率和注视时间占比为关键变量,使用组合赋权法建立驾驶负荷量化模型,揭示桥隧群、隧道群、隧道至互通小间距等山区高速公路典型场景驾驶负荷演变化规律。运用K-means聚类算法,确定基于欧式距离度量的不同等级驾驶负荷阈值,界定高驾驶负荷危险场景。结果表明:桥隧群桥梁类型、隧道群连接段长度、隧道至互通间距均显著影响驾驶负荷;驾驶负荷与桥梁大小呈正相关,与隧道群连接段长度、隧道至互通间距呈负相关;山区高速公路驾驶负荷高、中、低强度等级的阈值为0.54和0.26;大桥或特大桥组成的桥隧群、间距小于300 m的隧道群以及间距小于400 m的隧道至互通路段为高驾驶负荷危险场景;建议在隧道内应用公路隧道智能照明系统、隧道洞口设置减光构筑物,隧道至互通小间距场景可考虑在隧道内适宜区段设置允许换道区域。

To investigate driving workload on mountainous expressways, a naturalistic driving study was conducted utilizing an eye tracker to capture drivers' eye movement data in a realistic driving environment. Employing the change rate of pupil area, average saccade time, blink frequency, and fixation time ratio as primary indicators, a quantitative driving workload model was formulated through a combined weighting approach. This model aimed to reveal the driving workload evolution mechanism in typical scenarios of mountain expressways such as bridge and tunnel clusters, tunnel clusters, and short distances between tunnels and intersections. A clustering algorithm was applied to determine the classification thresholds for driving workload, thereby identifying high-risk scenarios characterized by heightened workload. The results show that the types of bridges within bridge-tunnel groups, the length of connection sections between tunnel groups, and the proximity of tunnels to interchanges significantly influence driving workload. A positive correlation was observed between driving workload and bridge size, whereas driving workload exhibited a negative correlation with the length of connection sections between tunnel groups and the distance from tunnels to interchanges. The thresholds of high, medium and low intensity levels of driving workload on mountain expressway are 0.54 and 0.26. Scenarios with bridge-tunnel groups composed of large or super-large bridges, tunnel groups with distances less than 300 m, and tunnel-to-interchange sections with distances less than 400 m were classified as high-risk driving workload scenarios. It is advisable to implement an intelligent lighting system within expressway tunnels, establish light-reducing structures at tunnel entrances, and in scenarios where tunnels are located in close proximity to interchanges, consider installing designated lane-changing zones within suitable tunnel sections to facilitate smooth lane transitions.

山区高速公路受复杂地形与地质条件限制,存在较多桥隧群、隧道群及隧道至互通小间距等典型场景。其道路环境频繁变换,易给驾驶人造成较高负荷,极易发生交通事故。在“人-车-路-环境”系统中,人因导致的交通事故占90%,且驾驶人行车过程中80%的交通信息由视觉提供[1]。因此,研究道路环境对驾驶负荷的影响机理,并界定高等驾驶负荷危险场景,优化交通构筑物组合布设,使驾驶负荷维持在适宜水平,对于保障山区高速公路安全运营具有重要意义。
驾驶负荷评估方法包括主观测量法、绩效测量法和生理测量法[2]。主观测量法通过调查问卷或量表评估驾驶负荷,如WP(workload profile)、NASA-TLX(national aeronautics and space administration task load index)和SWAT(subjective workload analysis technique)等,但较为主观且实时性较差。绩效测量法是利用驾驶人行车过程中的驾驶绩效来评估驾驶负荷,如行驶轨迹偏移、反应时间等,但数据提取较为困难。生理测量法则是测量驾驶人眼动、脑电和心电等生理指标,能客观评估驾驶负荷,且具有较高真实性和实时性[3]
国内外学者围绕驾驶人行为开展了大量研究。Vishnu等[4]研究发现瞳孔直径可以作为评估驾驶负荷的客观指标。Calsavara等[5]分析了晴朗和有雾两种情景下高速公路驾驶人视觉特性。Du等[6]以视觉振荡持续时间表征隧道出入口处的驾驶负荷。阎莹等[7]采用因子模型探究了隧道侧向宽度对驾驶负荷的影响,发现增加侧向宽度可以降低驾驶负荷。吕贞等[8]使用眨眼和瞳孔指标研究了草原公路不同路段的驾驶负荷,发现在草原公路超车时驾驶负荷突变性最大。易刚等[9]基于驾驶人心电指标探究了高密度互通立交场景下主线车流量对驾驶负荷的影响。徐进等[10]探索了高密度互通立交出口分流段和匝道段驾驶人注视转移分布特征。胡月琦等[11]对比分析了不同经验驾驶人在高速公路特长隧道的注视及扫视行为特性。陈孟柯等[12]研究了高速公路隧道内不同区段的驾驶人视觉特性。梅家林等[13]基于瞬时瞳孔面积频率加权速度评价了特长隧道入口区域不同时段及区段的驾驶负荷。万利等[14]利用平均注视持续时间等指标评价高速公路隧道3种侧向宽度下的驾驶人视觉负荷特征。丁旭等[15]首次提出“瞳孔面积相对变化强度”概念并建立其与照度和车速的数学模型。
综上所述,当前研究多聚焦于隧道、互通立交等单一交通构筑物场景下的视觉特性与驾驶负荷分析,而针对桥隧群、隧道群、隧道至互通小间距等复杂组合场景的对比研究尚显不足。鉴于此,通过自然驾驶试验采集山区高速公路桥隧群、隧道群及隧道至互通路段的驾驶人眼动数据,使用组合赋权法构建驾驶负荷量化模型,运用K-means聚类算法确定驾驶负荷分级阈值并界定高等驾驶负荷危险场景,最后针对危险场景提出交安改善策略,以期为山区高速公路交通构筑物布设提供理论依据,为提高山区高速公路安全运营提供技术参考。
试验选取重庆绕城东互通至开州互通路段作为试验路段。路段总长为306 km,共有隧道49座,大桥及特大桥7座,互通37座,存在多个桥-隧-互通组合场景。从中选取4组桥隧群、6个隧道群及6个隧道-互通小间距路段作为研究对象,探究山区高速公路场景下桥梁、隧道及互通立交等构筑物复杂组合对驾驶负荷的影响机理。试验路段详如表1所示。
本次试验采用Tobii Glasses眼动仪采集驾驶人眼动数据。该设备采样频率为30 Hz,精度高、易佩戴,能够实时采集驾驶人视觉特征。使用ES-1339R照度计采集试验路段的光照强度,准确率高、反应迅速,能够有效提取光照强度。选择本田奥德赛作为试验车辆,并在车辆前后挡风玻璃处安装行车记录仪,全程记录试验过程中车辆前后的交通环境,为后续数据分析和时间戳提取提供支持。试验仪器如图1所示。
试验共招募17名被试驾驶人参与试验。其中,男性驾驶人12名、女性驾驶人5名。驾驶人年龄在24~55岁,平均年龄为35.8岁;驾龄在3~20年,平均驾龄为8.4年;所有被试驾驶人均视力良好,能安全顺利完成驾驶任务。
选择天气晴朗、能见度良好的时间段开展实车试验,试验路段车流状态为自由流,被试驾驶人能按自身驾驶习惯自由驾驶。17名驾驶人轮流在试验路段完成1次往返驾驶任务。驾驶人全程佩戴Tobii Glasses眼动仪,采集其在试验路段的眼动数据,利用ES-1339R照度计记录桥隧群场景桥梁段和隧道内外环境照度,并标记车辆进出试验路段关键时间节点。为控制试验误差,使用拉依达准则法( 3 σ准则)剔除原始数据中明显偏移其他样本值的异常值。
绘制驾驶人瞳孔面积变化率、平均扫视时间、眨眼频率、注视时间占比的变化图,分析各试验场景下驾驶人视觉特征变化规律。
瞳孔面积变化率能有效表征驾驶人瞳孔波动程度和驾驶负荷[16],计算公式为

不同场景下驾驶人瞳孔面积变化率变化误差带图如图2所示。桥隧群场景A、D瞳孔面积变化率显著高于场景B、C,根据实测桥隧群照度数据,场景A、D荔枝乌江大桥和驸马长江大桥的照度分别达53 525、60 210 lx,而隧道内照度仅为373~1 925 lx,隧道内外照度差值大,瞳孔变化剧烈;隧道群场景E~J瞳孔面积变化率呈“N”形变化,且场景E离散程度最大,场景J离散程度最小,即隧道群连接段长度越短驾驶人个体差异越明显,越容易采取异常驾驶行为;隧道-互通小间距场景K~P瞳孔面积变化率依次增加,且场景K、L、M瞳孔面积变化率显著低于场景N、O、P,即间距过短时,驾驶人需在短时间内执行换道操作驾驶负荷较大。
平均扫视时间是指总扫视时间与总扫视次数的比值,可有效表征驾驶环境复杂程度、信息的获取难度及提取效率[17]
不同场景平均扫视时间变化误差带图如图3所示。桥隧群场景D、A平均扫视时间显著高于场景B、C,隧道群E~J及隧道-互通小间距场景K~P的平均扫视时间均随间距的增加而缩短。
眨眼频率是指单位时间内眨眼次数,与驾驶负荷呈负相关[18]
不同场景驾驶人眨眼频率变化误差带图如图4所示。桥隧群场景B、C眨眼频率显著高于场景A、D,隧道群场景I、J显著高于场景E、F、G、H,互通-小间距场景间距越短驾驶人眨眼频率越低。
注视时间占比表示注视时间与行程时间的比值,反映了驾驶人注意力分配情况,可表征视觉信息处理难度[19]。驾驶人注视时间占比变化误差带图如图5所示。桥隧群场景A、D注视时间占比高于场景B、C,隧道群及隧道-互通小间距场景注视时间占比均随间距增大而减小,且同类间距下隧道群注视时间占比高于隧道-互通小间距场景。
构建一种融合标准间相关性法与熵权法的组合赋权模型,用于量化山区高速公路驾驶负荷。标准间相关性法综合了标准差系数法、主成分分析法和均方差法的优点,全面考量了指标变异性和相关性;熵权法则有效捕捉了指标离散程度。组合赋权法可实现其优势互补,故基于标准间相关性法和熵权法构建山区高速公路驾驶负荷量化模型。
标准间相关性法(criteria importance though intercrieria correlation,CRITIC)是一种基于评价指标对比强度和冲突性的客观赋权方法,以标准差和相关系数反映指标对比强度和冲突性,该方法可同时考虑指标变异性大小和相关性。
基于标准间相关性法可得到第j个指标的客观权重( W j 1):

式(2)中: σ j r i j分别为第j个指标的标准差和相关系数;ij分别表示样本和指标。
熵权法(entropy weight method,EWM)是一种基于信息熵理论的客观赋权方法,计算指标信息量确定其权重,能够充分考虑指标间的离散性。

因不同评价指标之间量纲不同,直接分析原始数据会干扰计算结果。为去除数据量纲影响,需将原始数据标准化处理,使数据转换为统一标准值。
本文中采取离差标准化处理原始数数据,将指标线性变换,使数值映射在[0,1]区间。公式为

式中:xij为原始数据;yij为标准化后数据。
选取瞳孔面积变化率(X1)、平均扫视时间(X2)、眨眼频率(X3)及注视时间占比(X4)作为驾驶负荷表征指标。其中,瞳孔面积变化率、平均扫视时间、注视时间占比为正向指标,选用式(5)标准化;眨眼频率为负向指标,选用式(6)标准化。
以17名驾驶人在4个桥隧群、6个隧道群、6个隧道-互通小间距及4个普通路基路段等20个场景的视觉指标为研究对象,即确定340个评价对象和4个评价指标,以此建立山区高速公路驾驶负荷(M)量化模型。
分别利用标准间相关性法、熵权法计算各指标的权重 W j 1 W j 2,得到权重结果如表2所示。
再计算标准间相关性法-熵权法组合权重,公式为

由式(7)计算得到山区高速公路驾驶负荷(M)量化模型为

根据式(8)计算17名驾驶人在20个试验场景的驾驶负荷值,分别绘制桥隧群、隧道群、隧道-互通小间距、普通路基段的驾驶负荷量化结果变化图。
桥隧群场景驾驶负荷变化如图6所示。驾驶负荷大小排序依次为D、A、B、C,驾驶人在场景D的驾驶负荷维持在0.8,在场景A基本维持在0.6,场景B、C驾驶负荷在0.2~0.4范围内。
隧道群场景驾驶负荷变化如图7所示。驾驶负荷大小排序依次为:E、F、G、H、I、J,驾驶负荷随连接段长度缩短而增加。
隧道-互通小间距场景驾驶负荷变化如图8所示。驾驶负荷强度大小排序依次为:P、O、N、M、L、K,驾驶负荷随间距减小而增高。
普通路基段驾驶负荷变化如图9所示。驾驶负荷基本维持在0.05~0.2,表明普通路基段驾驶负荷较低。
利用K-means算法将17名驾驶人在山区高速公路特殊路段(4个桥隧群、6个隧道群、6个互通-隧道小间距)以及4个普通路基段(共20个场景)的驾驶负荷值聚类分析。
使用SPSS软件将340条驾驶负荷值聚类分为高、中、低3个驾驶负荷等级。聚类结果如表3所示。
根据表3可确定驾驶负荷分级阈值为0.26、0.54。当M≥0.54时为高等驾驶负荷,驾驶人精神负荷较高,驾驶负荷强度趋近于极限,易产生危险操作;当0.26≤M<0.54时为中等驾驶负荷,驾驶人精神较为舒缓,视觉信息处理能力较强,行车安全性最高;当M<0.26时为低等驾驶负荷,道路信息刺激较小,易造成分心驾驶,存在交通安全隐患。
针对山区高速公路各试验场景,分别以17名驾驶人的驾驶负荷平均值作为各路段的驾驶负荷,按照负荷分级标准评价其驾驶负荷等级。各试验场景驾驶负荷评价结果如表4所示。
根据驾驶负荷等级评价结果,归纳高等负荷场景的共同特征,以此界定高等驾驶负荷危险场景。
(1)桥隧群场景A、D驾驶负荷强度分别高达0.61、0.82,为高等驾驶负荷,且两者桥梁构筑物为大桥或特大桥,故将大桥或特大桥组成的桥隧群定义为高等驾驶负荷危险场景。
(2)隧道群场景E、F、G驾驶负荷分别高达0.80、0.65、0.56,为高等驾驶负荷,且各隧道群连接段均小于300 m,故将连接段小于300 m的隧道群定义为高等驾驶负荷危险场景。
(3)隧道-互通小间距场景N、O、P驾驶负荷强度分别高达0.54、0.66、0.78,为高等驾驶负荷,且各隧道-互通路段间距均小于400 m,故将间距小于400 m的隧道-互通路段定义为高等驾驶负荷危险场景。
本文主要得到以下结论。
(1)基于标准间相关性法和熵权法构建了山区高速公路驾驶负荷(M)量化模型:M=0.286X1+0.25X2+0.250 5X3+0.213 5X4;利用K-means聚类算法确定了山区高速公路驾驶负荷高、中、低3个强度等级的分级阈值为0.54和0.26。
(2)桥隧群桥梁类型、隧道群连接段长度及隧道至互通路段间距均显著影响驾驶负荷。驾驶负荷与桥梁大小呈正相关,与隧道群连接段长度、隧道至互通间距呈负相关。
(3)大桥或特大桥组成的桥隧群、连接段小于300 m的隧道群和间距小于400 m的隧道至互通路段等3类场景为高等驾驶负荷危险场景。
(4)山区高速公路高等驾驶负荷场景,隧道内外光线差异较大,建议在隧道内应用公路隧道智能照明系统、隧道洞口设置减光构筑物,减少隧道内外光环境差异;隧道至互通小间距场景,可考虑在隧道内适宜区段设置允许换道区域。
