Traditional Chinese medicine is an important cultural and ecological resource in China. Relevant national or local regulations and standards set clear requirements for the packaging label design of traditional Chinese medicine, creating hard constraints that guide traditional Chinese medicine packaging design. creating hard constraints that guide traditional Chinese medicine packaging design. Under these circumstances, the packaging design information for traditional Chinese medicine was organized, a packaging box template that complies with these constraints was created, and a design environment with hard constraints was established. Using the packaging design of “Jiangzhong Jianwei Xiaoshi Tablets” as an example, the existing packaging box was studied as the research object. Eye-tracking technology was employed to capture eye movement data on all six faces of the packaging box and its unfolded view. Key indicators, such as fixation time and heat maps, were used to analyze image attention and the importance of drug information. The current packaging information layout was systematically evaluated, and directions for improvement were proposed. Finally, through design empowerment, the drug information and layout were re-matched and arranged, producing a packaging design plan that guides traditional Chinese medicine packaging design to achieve efficient optimization and innovation of visual information under standardized conditions.

中医药是中国重要文化生态资源。国家或地方相关法规标准对中成药包装标签设计提出明确要求,成为指导中成药包装设计的强约束条件。在此情况下,梳理中成药包装设计信息清单,并绘制符合约束条件的包装盒模板,搭建设计强约束环境。以“江中牌健胃消食片”包装设计为例,将现有药品包装盒作为研究对象,通过眼动追踪技术分别对包装盒六张单面图以及展开图进行眼动数据捕捉,以注视时间和热区图作为关键指标分析包装盒区域关注度及药品信息重要度,对现有包装信息布局进行系统评价,并提出改进方向。最终,通过设计赋能,将药品信息与版面重新匹配布局,输出包装设计方案,指导中成药包装设计在规范化前提下实现视觉信息高效优化设计。

中医药是中国重要文化生态资源。国家或地方相关法规标准对中成药包装标签设计提出明确要求,成为指导中成药包装设计的强约束条件。在此情况下,梳理中成药包装设计信息清单,并绘制符合约束条件的包装盒模板,搭建设计强约束环境。以“江中牌健胃消食片”包装设计为例,将现有药品包装盒作为研究对象,通过眼动追踪技术分别对包装盒六张单面图以及展开图进行眼动数据捕捉,以注视时间和热区图作为关键指标分析包装盒区域关注度及药品信息重要度,对现有包装信息布局进行系统评价,并提出改进方向。最终,通过设计赋能,将药品信息与版面重新匹配布局,输出包装设计方案,指导中成药包装设计在规范化前提下实现视觉信息高效优化设计。

Traditional Chinese medicine is an important cultural and ecological resource in China. Relevant national or local regulations and standards set clear requirements for the packaging label design of traditional Chinese medicine, creating hard constraints that guide traditional Chinese medicine packaging design. creating hard constraints that guide traditional Chinese medicine packaging design. Under these circumstances, the packaging design information for traditional Chinese medicine was organized, a packaging box template that complies with these constraints was created, and a design environment with hard constraints was established. Using the packaging design of “Jiangzhong Jianwei Xiaoshi Tablets” as an example, the existing packaging box was studied as the research object. Eye-tracking technology was employed to capture eye movement data on all six faces of the packaging box and its unfolded view. Key indicators, such as fixation time and heat maps, were used to analyze image attention and the importance of drug information. The current packaging information layout was systematically evaluated, and directions for improvement were proposed. Finally, through design empowerment, the drug information and layout were re-matched and arranged, producing a packaging design plan that guides traditional Chinese medicine packaging design to achieve efficient optimization and innovation of visual information under standardized conditions.

药品包装设计中,准确、有效的信息传递对保障用户安全至关重要。药品包装不仅起到保护产品和提供必要信息的作用,同时也承担着指导正确用药和防止误用的职责。然而,目前药品包装设计存在诸多问题,影响用户对药品信息的理解和使用。对用户而言,药品包装常因信息过载或不足而导致关键信息不明显;某些药物规格不同但包装相似度极高,易引发严重用药错误。对企业而言,不符合标准和规范的药品包装或将面临严重处罚。当前,国家针对不同药品出台系列法规政策,以指导药品包装设计规范化、标准化。
大多学者致力于研究直接接触药品的材料与药品本身的反应作用、密封方式等,以提高包装安全性和保护性,而忽视了对用户认知的考虑[1]。从设计角度而言,马钰焓等[2]构建AHP-TOPSIS(analytic hierarchy process-technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution)融合模型,优化老年人药品包装信息可视化设计,以提高其用药信息读取准确性和效率;徐丽等[3]从交互行为角度对云南白药胶囊产品包装设计进行研究和再设计;李玥瑶[4]基于互动式设计和可持续理念指出药品包装设计中信息图形化的设计发展方向,等等。由此可见,药品包装视觉设计主要关注老年人、儿童等特殊用户群体的需求满足,在药品外包装信息设计方面相对薄弱,缺乏面向广泛用户人群的普适性设计和解决方案。
包装信息布局设计是对视觉元素的功能性排列[5]。Chen等[6]指出设计排版在视觉注意力和信息传播方面有显著影响,褚英帆等[7]的研究成果也显示出不同信息布局将影响视觉绩效。在信息布局研究中,戚春华等[8]、Zeng等[9]强调了信息量和优先级对用户认知的影响;Zhang等[10]分析了颜色编码和布局编码在视觉搜索中的作用,指出规则颜色分布和较大同色区域的布局能够使用户视觉搜索效率和体验达到最佳;Shao等[11]则通过视觉流动方法设计实验,表明用户对图形化信息的辨识度高于文本。可见,关注药品包装中的信息布局优化,合理分配信息模块,能够提高包装设计的读取和识别效率。
随着技术进步和市场需求变化,药品包装设计复杂性和重要性不断增加,设计研究依旧存在挑战[12]。设计师必须在满足相关法规标准的同时,考虑药品包装信息布局准确性和检索效率[13]。因此,现通过眼动实验与用户行为分析,探讨强约束条件下中成药视觉信息布局和优化设计。
约束条件定义了设计边界和基本要求,为设计决策提供可行域范围[14]。付双乐[15]在社会研究中指出院校能力与审批政策是强约束,社会服务需求则是弱约束。同样的,在设计过程中,强约束和弱约束共同构成设计限制和目标。弱约束强调设计偏好和优先级,可根据设计项目适时调整,具有灵活性。强约束则是明确规定或强制执行的规则,意味着在设计活动中必须满足的约束条件,是设计活动开展的基础和前提。强约束具有强制性、明确性和普遍性,能够规范设计行为,提高设计可靠性。然而,强制性约束条件可能造成创新受限、设计难度增加等问题,探讨包装创新设计与强约束机制间平衡关系,需充分考虑两者相互影响与协同作用,以实现最佳设计效果。
对于药品而言,包装信息布局与检索需求高于审美需求。以设计为主导的包装改进需立足于相关标准、规范等强约束条件上。在药品包装设计中,药品标签设计标准、规范或文件不仅确保包装设计合规性,同时也是药品顺利进入市场的关键保障。国家食品药品监督管理局颁布了《药品说明书和标签管理规定》(第24号令)《药品追溯码标识规范》(NMPAB/T 1011—2022)《药品管理法》等标准文件,地方或区域也制定地方性标准和要求,对药品标签设计提出明确要求和规定,构成药品包装设计强约束环境。因此,药品包装设计活动开展和实践需要以此为背景和前提,输出符合规定条件的可行性方案。
考虑到包装设计受外形尺寸、形式结构等多方因素影响,本次将以个案研究揭示统一规律,探讨药品包装设计中视觉信息布局策略。以“江中牌健胃消食片”(0.8 g×8片×4板)外包装为例,该规格外包装盒尺寸为114 mm×63 mm×28 mm,盒型结构、包装材质、内包装形式等无关因素暂不考虑。以此为前提,以法规标准为强约束条件,梳理中成药包装设计信息清单及通用模板。
在强约束视域下,明确中成药包装设计信息清单是视觉信息布局的基础。药品包装也称药品标签,法规明确药品标签以说明书为依据,其内容不得超出说明书范围[16]。综合考虑各项法规要求,筛选、梳理与包装设计相关信息,特别是对外包装设计要素有明确规定的条款,梳理如图1所示中成药信息清单。其中,中成药外包装必需体现信息类目包括通用名称、成分、性状等20项,不良反应、注意事项等部分信息限于包装尺寸等因素可标注“详见说明书”;商标、图案、企业标识等7项内容取决于企业注册及报批情况,可选择性体现;说明书标题、说明书核准日期等6项信息主要用于介绍说明书本身,与药品使用或特性无直接关系,无需在外包装中体现。
中成药包装设计信息清单作为强约束条件,系统化整合了外包装图文等视觉信息,指导后续设计内容,避免信息遗漏,实现对药品外包装信息有效管理。此外,信息清单作为包装设计中具体内容的体现,其优先级和重要度将影响设计方案布局和输出。
强约束条件对包装盒部分信息进行位置布局的明确规定和示范,并在约束条件下开展其余设计行为。根据强约束条件下外包装版式规范,整理信息并确定设计要素,制订如图2所示的横版、竖版两种中成药包装盒正面视图模板,辅助设计实践,快速生成符合法规的视觉方案。
中成药包装设计正面模板主要规定非处方药专有标识、注册商标以及药品通用名称等内容的具体位置布局。此外,对包装使用字体、颜色等也有规定,全面确立了外包装设计关键信息要素。本次研究对象“江中牌健胃消食片”现有包装为横版,忽略版式方向对信息布局影响,以横版模板为原型基础进行后续设计操作。
为减少用户读取信息时视觉资源占用,提高信息检索效率,本次实验引导被试者对现有包装进行浏览,通过眼动实验测试用户对外包装区域关注度及视觉注意力分布,识别信息重要度和优先级。其目的在于,确定清单中信息类目优先级,合理布局信息位置和突出方式,使重要信息便于识别与读取。
此外,有效平衡各类信息分布,避免过于集中或分散,确保设计美观性和易读性[17-19]
为保证实验可行性和结果可靠性,本次实验招募20名被试用户,其中男性11名,女性9名,年龄范围在18~40岁。被试者均受过高等教育,具有阅读和理解能力,且所有被试者身体健康状况良好,视力或矫正视力良好,没有影响阅读的眼部疾病。
使用佳能GX3080扫描设备对“江中健胃消食片”包装盒进行高清扫描,形成电子文件,并使用Photoshop对扫描图片二次处理,优化扫描过程中造成的图片质量问题,并对包装盒展开图进行版面位置调整以适应屏幕尺寸。设置图片底色为纯白色,分辨率为12 500×7 031 dpi,位置居中。最终得到6张清晰的包装盒单面图和1张展开图作为实验观察样本。对图片编码,依次记为A面(正面)、B面(左侧面)、C面(下侧面)、D面(背面)、E面(上侧面)、F面(右侧面)和图X(展开图)。
实验由一台PC机控制,使用高分辨率Tobii X2-30眼动仪设备进行实验,使用ErgoLAB3.0软件编写设计实验程序,并对实验数据进行记录和处理。此外,控制实验环境在安静、光线合适的室内进行,如图3所示。
测试开始前,向被试者解释本次实验流程和注意事项,并对每位被试者进行眼动追踪设备校准,保持与显示屏静坐距离为60 cm。具体任务及步骤如下:
任务一,以包装盒展开图X为本次任务研究对象,以各个面为基准绘制6个兴趣区域(area of interest, AOI)。设置总实验时长为65 s,任务开始后进入空白界面,持续5 s,集中被试者视觉注意点。之后,自动切换为图X,被试自由阅读,设定观察时间为60 s,记录被试者浏览数据。
任务二,指导被试者按照平时阅读习惯自主依次浏览6张单面图,不设置时间限制,可自由阅读任何部分。任务程序中设置“开始实验”界面,被试者准备好后自主点击鼠标,正式进入阅读界面。当阅读完成后,点击“结束实验”按钮,完成测试。
任务三,眼动实验结束后,将“江中牌健胃消食片”包装盒样品为实验对象,观察被试与真实样品的行为互动,录制整个实验过程,定性分析用户行为模式,观察记录被试者浏览包装盒次序。
测试结束后,收集所有数据,从系统中导出兴趣区域数据、视点数据以及合并热区图,利用Excel和SPSS软件对数据统计分析,生成相应指标。实验测试任务如图4所示。
选定注视时间、热区图为实验测试指标,分析数据结果,确定被试者关注度高的兴趣区域和具体信息类目[20-21]
(1)注视时间。即被试者基本注视情况,如注视次数、总注视时间占比等数据。通过量化用户在包装盒各部分的停留时间,判断用户对不同视觉信息的注意力,评估包装盒上信息传递有效性和分布合理性,确定获得视觉注意力最多的区域或版面。注视时间长的区域通常表明设计引起用户兴趣,有助于药品识别和信息传递,反之则需要改进。
(2)热区图。即用户注视热点区域,直观展示被
试者对包装盒的视觉注视点分布情况。通过不同颜色可视化区域关注度级别,显示用户查看药品包装盒时注视次数或时间最多的区域,揭示被试者对药品具体信息类目的识别速度或兴趣程度,从而为优化包装盒布局和视觉引导提供实证依据。
为确保后续统计结果的有效性和可靠性,对数据进行筛选和检验。使用SPSS Statistics 27对数据进行方差齐性检验,AOI注视次数、AOI注视总时间占比的显著性水平均大于0.05,方差齐性假设成立。进一步对方差结果进行分析,使用ANOVA单因素方差分析检验各项指标显著性水平,均小于0.05,说明用户对六面视觉注意力分布有显著差异,可进一步研究具体每个面信息布局对注意力的影响。
对图X兴趣区关键指标进行均值统计,如表1所示。A面和D面平均注视次数分别为41次和37次,注视总持续时间占比分别为23.36%和23.87%,意味着A面和D面是被试者关注的重点区域,为主要关注区域。C面和E面注视次数分别为23次和24次,注视总持续时间占比分别为16.79%和20.82%,总体关注度适中,为次要关注区域。B面和F面注视次数分别为7次和4次,注视总持续时间占比分别为7.45%和4.09%,对应数值明显较低,为边缘关注区域。
将被试者对图X的阅读过程可视化,输出热区图,如图5所示。结合药品包装盒各部分信息分布情况概述区域关注度,进一步探究用户关注区域和信息分布的关系。结果显示,被试者视觉注意力分布在药品信息集中区域,尤其是文字信息密集部分。具体表现为,A面和D面区域面积最大,信息分散,未能形成系统化热区,但视觉注意力分布占据较大比例;C面和E面信息量大,分布紧凑,用户注视点较为集中;B面和F面也形成了相对集中的视觉热区,原因在于该区域信息布局简洁,被试者关注点较为单一。
结合被试者阅读习惯分析被试者操作行为视频,可以发现:85%被试者拿到包装盒后通常会旋转检查,以便观察不同角度。被试者最先浏览盒子正面视图A面,然后向下翻转浏览上侧面E面,回转至A面,向上翻转浏览下侧面C面,之后查看背面视图D面。因A面与D面信息完全相同,故D面浏览时间较短。最后,被试者通常查看包装盒左侧面B面和右侧面F面,因尺寸面积限制,信息体量较少,通常不做详览。因此,用户对包装盒的关注度次序一般为A面、E面、C面、D面、B面和F面(图5)。
A面-F面单面热区图如图6所示。可以看出,A面和D面信息分布相同,红色区域主要集中在“健胃消食片”“江中”“咀嚼”以及图案部分,表明被试者对药品通用名称、商标、图案、用法和企业名称等信息有较多关注。B面展示药品产品批号、有效期和生产日期,用户视觉热区主要集中在“有效期至”以及钢印印刷日期。C面包括功能主治、商品条码等信息,分布密集。被试者注意力主要集中左上区域,重点关注功能主治、规格、用法用量等信息。E面展示药品和企业基本信息,信息密度大。被试者注意力主要分布在左中上区域和右中区域,重点关注信息包括药品名称、成分、生产企业和联系方式等信息。F面主要展示商品条码,用户注意力分散在条形码附近。
从重要程度来看,药品包装视觉信息可划分为关键信息、次要信息和其他信息。其中,药品名称、商标、图案、功能主治、生产企业等为关键信息,成分、规格、用法用量、有效期、上市许可持有人等为次要信息,性状、商品条码、不良反应等重复出现或相关度较低的为其他信息。信息等级决定设计优先级,中成药包装设计与优化需要考虑信息重要程度,确保关键信息显著突出,以满足用户对重要信息的获取需求。
结合展开图区域关注度和单面信息重要度研究结果,挖掘“江中牌健胃消食片”包装视觉信息布局需要解决的问题,主要包括:部分关键信息未能放置在用户主要关注区域,导致信息可能被忽略或需额外查找;药品信息分布不均,信息层次不清晰,不同重要度信息未能明确区分,部分信息未能有效突出;信息表现方式单一,多以文字为主,缺乏视觉层次感和吸引力,等。为优化中成药包装设计并合理化信息布局,提出以下设计策略。
(1)基于信息重要度适配用户关注区域。用户在查看包装盒各部分时,注意力资源有限,且在短时间内优先关注正面、背面等特定区域。设计时,明确包装盒六面的层级关系,并将信息清单划分在合适区域。将关键信息放置在主要关注区域,重复或强调药品核心信息;次要信息布局在次要关注区域,补充并完善信息呈现;通过添加图案、颜色色块或互动设计等方式提升边缘区域实用性及关注度,保持设计一致性。通过有效建立信息和区域的关系匹配,确保用户在最短时间获取重要信息,提高信息传递效率和用户满意度。
(2)增强各单面信息层级布局。聚焦各单面的信息层级关系,以用户群体阅读习惯为依据,遵循从左到右,从上至下的浏览次序,调整具体信息类目优先级。在信息布局设计中,将关键信息放置在用户视觉焦点区域,即版面上方或中央,提高信息传递效率;采用分栏、分区等布局方式,引导用户视线;通过增大字体、色彩对比等方式突出视觉表达要素,增强可视性。通过提升关键信息表达,明确次要信息布局,简化边缘信息设计,引导用户快速获取药品信息。
(3)创新信息表达方式。从设计审美角度出发,以恰当的表现方式增强信息可读性和可视性,提升用户阅读体验。设计时,采用简约风格,呼应药品专业、严谨的产品特性,选择与品牌形象契合的色彩基调、图标元素,避免过多装饰;将大量文字信息可视化,使用表格、图形等多样化方式增强信息表达效果,辅以底纹或背景颜色突出强调;通过网格、框线或视觉动线等分段展示信息,引导用户视线,捕捉重要信息,提升信息传递和检索效率。
根据上述研究结果,为深化“江中牌健胃消食片”的品牌形象和产品印象,维持其市场影响力和品牌识别度,故保留原包装图案元素,着重从信息布局考虑包装重新设计与升级。在中成药包装信息清单和通用模板的指导下,确定药品名称、非处方药标识和江中商标的具体位置,明确外包装基础模板,“江中牌健胃消食片”包装盒展开图及效果图如图7图8所示。
设计方案提取品牌主色作为重要元素,将图案信息和文字信息等内容有效且系统的联系起来,增加设计整体性,并对信息进行分解筛选,实现对信息层级划分和有效布局。
A面将“功能主治”作为重点信息居中展示,保证用户能快速了解药品功效作用,并将服用方式“咀嚼”移至版面水平居中位置,以主色调绿色色块为底色强调信息内容,并将企业名称置于正面视图底部中心,版面整体形成文字与图案交叉的层次结构。D面重复强调A面中药品名称等关键信息,在此基础上做信息加工,将次要信息“成份”“用法用量”“规格”以网格形式引导区分,并提取品牌商标“江中”外形轮廓作为标题底色形状,从设计审美角度形成呼应关系。将“忠告语”分布在版面居中位置,强调并提醒用户关注并谨慎用药。
C面主要信息为“药品上市许可持有人”,将企业信息、联系方式等用户关注的内容布局在独立版面,并增加绿色色块强调信息内容。E面涵盖其余边缘信息,使用网格框线对信息进行视觉区分,提高信息分布清晰度。此外,将用户关注度较高的产品日期等内容移至E面,并为其增加底色色块,配合喷墨或激光打码形式,提高日期与底色视觉对比,增强信息表达效果。
B面作为用户关注次要区域,使用绿色色块突出“企业名称”,并将图形化文字“江中制药”置于版面中央,将该区域作为信息传递和建立品牌识别的模块,增强信息一致性,起到宣传作用。F面在测试中并未体现出明显问题,且与条码操作互动能够吸引用户注意力,故保留原设计。
对比优化前后的设计方案,优化后的药品包装在强约束条件下具有实际应用和推广价值。在用户视觉体验方面,通过信息层级调整和版式设计,强化视觉突出重点,帮助用户直观获取关键信息;在信息检索效率方面,优化后的排版逻辑更清晰,关键信息在用户测试中显示出更高的可读性和检索速度;在迭代成本方面,药品包装外盒变更不涉及显著的成本增加,有助于企业在市场竞争中实现更具性价比的产品迭代和品牌形象塑造。理论上,若投入使用,改进后的方案能有效提升经济效益和社会效益,预期将改善消费者用药体验,特别是在快速决策的医疗环境中,降低潜在药品安全隐患,提高产品满意度和信任度,其在真实场景中的应用效果和用户反馈将作为约束条件服务于新一轮迭代。
与其他快消品包装设计相比,中成药包装设计研究尚存差距。加强包装设计创新性和标准化,开发强约束条件下包装设计策略与路径,是推动中成药市场化、商业化的有效途径。以中成药相关标准法规为强约束条件,从信息布局视角对中成药包装盒进行设计解读,通过眼动实验测试包装区域关注度和药品信息重要度,对现有包装信息布局进行系统评价,提升研究科学性、准确性。然而,包装盒作为立体的研究对象,其信息布局设计与用户操作行为、药品认知程度等因素密切相关。未来,需进一步综合用户心理、体验设计等多维视角,系统分析各因素对视觉信息影响,从而深入探索和优化药品包装盒在强约束条件下创新设计的社会价值和现实意义。
