Noise signals are added to the signal during transmission, resulting in changes in the amplitude of the signal, thus affecting the reception sensitivity. In order to study the relationship between noise and sensitivity, two signal-to-noise ratio calculation methods were used, and digital filtering, pulse peak extraction and half-amplitude point calculation were processed on the signals, which in turn complete the judgment and sensitivity calculation of DME(distance measuring equipment) signals, and based on which the relationship between DME judgment and the size of signal-to-noise ratio was analyzed. The results show that when the signal-to-noise ratio is small and the signal strength is sufficiently small, the accuracy of the DME judgment is greatly affected by the noise signal, which will lead to the reduction of the ranging accuracy.

信号在传输过程中会有噪声信号的加入,导致信号的幅值发生变化,从而对接收灵敏度造成影响。为了研究噪声与灵敏度之间的关系,采用两种信噪比计算方法,并通过对信号进行数字滤波、脉冲峰值提取和半幅点计算处理,进而完成DME(distance measuring equipment)信号的判决与灵敏度计算,并基于此分析DME判决与信噪比大小之间的关系。结果表明,在信噪比较小且信号强度足够小时,DME判决的准确性受噪声信号影响较大,从而会导致测距精度降低。

信号在传输过程中会有噪声信号的加入,导致信号的幅值发生变化,从而对接收灵敏度造成影响。为了研究噪声与灵敏度之间的关系,采用两种信噪比计算方法,并通过对信号进行数字滤波、脉冲峰值提取和半幅点计算处理,进而完成DME(distance measuring equipment)信号的判决与灵敏度计算,并基于此分析DME判决与信噪比大小之间的关系。结果表明,在信噪比较小且信号强度足够小时,DME判决的准确性受噪声信号影响较大,从而会导致测距精度降低。

Noise signals are added to the signal during transmission, resulting in changes in the amplitude of the signal, thus affecting the reception sensitivity. In order to study the relationship between noise and sensitivity, two signal-to-noise ratio calculation methods were used, and digital filtering, pulse peak extraction and half-amplitude point calculation were processed on the signals, which in turn complete the judgment and sensitivity calculation of DME(distance measuring equipment) signals, and based on which the relationship between DME judgment and the size of signal-to-noise ratio was analyzed. The results show that when the signal-to-noise ratio is small and the signal strength is sufficiently small, the accuracy of the DME judgment is greatly affected by the noise signal, which will lead to the reduction of the ranging accuracy.

测距器(distance measuring equipment, DME)主要用于测量飞机到地面台之间的距离,用于飞机的航路导航及进场着陆引导,用户对其系统的测距精度要求比较高,因此研究干扰测距器测距精度的原因及其改善方法就具有十分重要的意义[1]。随着大规模集成器件技术以及数字信号处理技术的发展,DME的测距精度越来越高,考虑到DME在民用航空中的重要应用及在区域导航中扮演越来越重要的角色,其灵敏度提高也至关重要[2],这样测距器可以得到充分的完善和改进[3]
综合目前国内外的发展来看,无论是军用导航领域还是民用导航领域都对DME系统的测距精度都有越来越高的要求,同时伴随着卫星导航的发展对无线电导航领域的冲击。在役的机载DME设备急需提升测距精度来适应导航领域的飞速发展。
信噪比估计作为通信系统的重要参数,可为各类算法提供参考数据[4]。可以反映信号的质量和可靠性,信噪比越高,表示信号越清晰,通信效果越好。DME测距器与信噪比的关系是DME测距的一个重要影响因素,因为信噪比直接影响了DME判决的精度和灵敏度。为了解决实际中DME信号强度对判决的影响问题,通过仿真接收机对DME信号的处理过程来得到基带信号,以此研究基于不同的方法计算DME信号的信噪比大小以及不同方法的计算转换关系,并测量出接收灵敏度的范围,为DME测距精度提供了坚实的理论基础。
DME信号的判决在这里主要运用的是半幅度检测技术[5]。捕获询问信号是DME地面设备的一个重要功能组成部分[6-7],而对于DME判决目的是检测出DME高斯脉冲信号是否满足询问脉冲要求,进行半幅检测判断出的触发矩形脉冲信号决定了DME的距离测量精度。精密测距器(precision distance measuring equipment, PDME)是把DME的高斯脉冲对信号换为上升沿更快的高斯脉冲包络,从而更好地判决出测距触发脉冲[8]。传统的对导航精密测距技术的研究是基于模拟视频检波的方式实现[9]
本文中利用的判决方法是在检测时一路半幅检测模块功能从接收到的脉冲信号中判断出最大值,也就是信号峰值;另一路对峰值进行半幅衰减,得到一个半幅点值,将其输入到幅值比较模块中;对原始脉冲信号与半幅检测模块中求得的半幅衰减点值进行比较,大于等于半幅衰减峰值则输出高电平,小于半幅衰减峰值则输出低电平,这样便形成了触发矩形脉冲信号[10-11]。对于得到的矩形脉冲信号,判断每个脉冲的宽度大小,若符合询问脉冲脉宽要求(3.5 μs±0.5 μs),即可作为下一级触发脉冲。
选取采样率为40 MHz,频率1 MHz的正弦信号来对信号进行幅度调制,利用MATLAB生成周期为12 μs的高斯钟形脉冲函数来生成询问信号[6],函数公式可以表示为

式(1)中:x为时间参数;μ为均值;σ2为方差。生成高斯脉冲如图1所示。生成间隔12 μs的高斯脉冲对作为基带信号,载波与基带信号相乘得到调制后的基带信号并发射。
在幅度调制后的基带信号传输过程中加入高斯白噪声,计算公式为

加噪声时,要先利用基带信号求出信号功率,此文的方法一种是取调制后信号每个脉冲尖峰然后求所有峰值的均值计算信号功率,另外一种是取信号包含尖峰的3.5 μs宽的脉冲求均值计算信号功率。在时域计算信号的功率利用计算公式为

同时,固定需要的信噪比,利用式(3)先计算出噪声功率,最后生成噪声信号。在MATLAB中可以表示为

设计流程框图如图2所示,DME调制信号属于幅度调制信号,选用非相干解调(包络检波)的方法对接收到的信号进行解调。调制信号IQ (in-phase, guadrature)解调[12],对同相、正交支路求平方和,再求平方根,再经过低通滤波器滤除信号的噪声,得到包含噪声的信号[13-15]
低通滤波器采用的是FIR(finite impulse response)型,采样频率设置为40 MHz,通带频率为1 MHz。经过低通滤波器的目的是滤除噪声对基带信号的影响,从而可以更加精确地进行下一步的半幅判决。
滤波器使用时会对信号产生一定的时延,对滤波延时进行补偿后,便可利用补偿滤波器时延后得到的基带信号进行半幅判决。对信号分成两路,一路进行半幅衰减,找到所有脉冲的峰值的大小和位置;另外一路对信号进行延时;最后将两路信号进行比较,大于等于半幅衰减峰值则输出高电平,小于半幅衰减峰值则输出低电平,这样便产生了矩形脉冲信号。
对形成的矩形脉冲信号的脉冲宽度进行计算,若符合询问脉冲脉宽(3.5 μs±0.5 μs),即为询问信号作为下一级脉冲[16]
DME信号是调幅信号,与OOK(on-off keying)调制信号同理,采用OOK调制的信噪比计算方法,即

式(7)中:SNR为信噪比;E(x2)为信号幅值的均方值;E(n2)为噪声幅值的均方值。得出的信噪比作为本文提出的方法的对比标准,从而研究上述提出的两种方法的误差大小。
利用得到的补偿滤波器时延后的信号来计算信噪比,一种方法是利用峰值法求解调后的信号信噪比;另外一种方法是利用均值法求解调后的信号信噪比。
在峰值法生成噪声信号的基础上,利用峰值法计算解调后的基带信号的功率和信噪比。先找到信号中的所有高斯脉冲尖峰值,再求它们的均值来计算信号功率,选取只含噪声信号的一段数据来计算噪声功率;根据求得的信号和噪声功率,利用式(2)计算出的功率得到信噪比。
在均值法生成噪声信号的基础上,利用均值法计算解调后的基带信号的信噪比。对于信噪比计算,找到信号脉冲包含尖峰的3.5 μs宽的脉冲求均值来计算信号功率,选取只含噪声信号的一段数据来计算噪声功率。最后根据信号功率,利用式(2)计算出的功率得到信噪比。
按照本文中方法,在48 μs时间内的波形,生成的高斯脉冲对作为基带信号经过正弦调制得到调制后的信号,以10 dB信噪比和均值法生成噪声信号为例,并对中频信号求模值,如图3图4所示。利用MATLAB软件对DME信号进行仿真和信噪比计算,仿真过程中通过不同噪声信噪比得出与矩形脉冲判决之间的关系。
低通滤波器是根据采样率和信号频率设置通带频率1 MHz,128阶的FIR滤波器,信号通过滤波器前后的波形如图5所示。接下来对信号进行延时补偿,如图6所示。最后得到的DME基带信号,用来完成下一步DME矩形脉冲的判决。
计算信号的功率主要运用两种方法:峰值法和均值法。MATLAB利用高斯函数生成基带信号后可求得信号功率,再根据信噪比分别用两种方法计算得到噪声信号。根据ICAO(International Civil aviation Organization)的规定,DME信号的信噪比应满足以下条件:在最大覆盖范围内,DME信号的信噪比应不小于6 dB;最小覆盖范围内,DME信号的信噪比应不大于30 dB;因此下文以信噪比5 dB和信噪比30 dB为例。
以峰值法生成噪声信号为基础,再利用峰值法计算信噪比,在此对比初始生成的基带信号和中频信号解调后的基带信号,这里以信噪比5 dB和30 dB为例,如图7所示。不同噪声下,OOK和峰值法计计算信号信噪比进行对照,如表1所示。
表1所示,给出了当SNR=5 dB时,峰值法计算的信噪比误差为1.52;当SNR=30 dB时,峰值法计算的信噪比误差为1.25误差。这是由于随着SNR变大,信号强度变大,噪声强度变小,对信号的干扰减小,所以造成误差减小。
以均值法生成噪声信号为基础,再利用均值法计算信噪比,在此对比初始生成的基带信号和中频信号解调后的基带信号,这里以信噪比5 dB和30 dB为例,如图8所示。不同噪声下,OOK和均值法计计算信号信噪比进行对照,如表2所示。
表2所示,给出了当SNR=5 dB时,均值法计算的信噪比误差为1.42;当SNR=30 dB时,均值法计算的信噪比为1.03。利用均值法生成噪声信号,解调后再利用均值法计算信噪比,由于SNR变大使得噪声影响减小,故此误差相应减小。
通过对上面的测量结果分析可以看出,上面用到的都是接收信号解调经过滤波器后的噪声信号求噪声功率减小了,导致计算的信噪比比理论值大。
根据对比表1表2,两种计算方法与OOK调制方法计算的信噪比进行对比,均值法计算的信噪比误差比峰值法更小,故此均值法更加准确。但结合实际情况,峰值容易观察波形获取,同时峰值法与均值法又有一定比例关系,所以可以通过找到峰值求出信噪比再转换为均值。将峰值信噪比转换为均值信噪比的公式为

设置上面计算的5种不同的信噪比,利用半幅检波的方法对DME基带信号进行判决,从而得到每个高斯脉冲的矩形脉冲信号。接下来计算矩形脉冲宽度,并判断出满足3.5 μs±0.5 μs要求的矩形脉冲信号。
图9所示为不同信噪比下根据半幅检波的方法得出的矩形脉冲信号。
对得出的矩形脉冲的宽度进行计算,检验是否满足宽度在3.5 μs±0.5 μs,以便在之后作为下一级触发信号。从图9中可以看出,在信噪比越小时,噪声的幅值越大从而越接近半幅值,这样会导致判决出的矩形个数出错,从而影响之后的距离精度,故此DME判决与信噪比大小至关重要。
接收机采集到的信号采样率40 MHz,取4 ms时长的信号,即160 000个采样点长的信号。在运用峰值法和均值法的两个方法下,计算输入不同的信号强度下的信号信噪比。同时,观察信号强度与DME判决得到的矩形脉冲之间的关系,下面时域如图10所示以-10 dB和-90 dB的信号强度为例。
按照上面两种方法计算信噪比,在基带信号半幅衰减后,找到峰值与基带信号的交点来判决原始基带信号,大于等于的信号部分赋值高电平,即得到了矩形脉冲信号。如图11所示为以-10 dB和-90 dB情况下的判决结果为例。
发射时设置的5种不同信号强度的信号,经过解调处理后,利用峰值法和均值法来计算信噪比大小,结果统计如表3和折线图12所示。
根据ICAO的规定,DME提供最小接收信号强度为-87 dBm;DME信号的信噪比应满足以下条件:在最大覆盖范围内,DME信号的信噪比应不小于6 dB。通过以表3计算出的信噪比以及图11(b)分析可知,在输入信号强度是-90 dB时,此时信噪比小于6 dB,这时噪声强度过大对信号的影响很大,导致波形产生畸变以及噪声幅度很大接近衰减后的半幅值,从而造成DME判决误差,这样矩形脉冲个数和宽度判断出错,无法满足宽度3.5 μs±0.5 μs的要求,所以在设置发送的基带信号的强度时应大于-87 dB。
利用接收机采集天津机场DME的询问信号和应答信号,多个飞机发射频率为1 082 MHz的询问信号,对接收的信号进行处理得到基带信号进行分析;地面产生频率1 019 MHz的应答信号,得到中频信号和处理后的基带信号进行分析。
直接对获取的询问器处理后的基带信号进行DME判决,得到信号的矩形脉冲信号,并计算得到矩形脉冲宽度,判断是否满足3.5 μs±0.5 μs要求,如图13所示。同时,利用两种方法计算数据信号的信噪比,分析信噪比和判决矩形脉冲信号宽度。
一种是接收机收到中频信号,先对信号进行解调处理,再进行DME判决得到矩形脉冲信号,如图14~图16所示。利用两种方法计算信号的功率和信噪比,分析信噪比和判决得到矩形脉冲信号。
另外一种是对接收机收到处理后的基带信号进行DME判决,得到矩形脉冲信号。
利用图16时域波形中,计算信号和噪声的功率,最后利用峰值法和均值法两种方法计算信噪比,如表4所示。
DME判决的准确性与信噪比的大小有着密切的关系,信噪比越小即噪声强度越大对信号的影响越大。对于信噪比的计算分析可以得出,半幅均值法计算的信噪比误差相比峰值法更小。通过对发射不同强度下的信号进行测试,得出在信噪比大于6 dB,同时DME提供接收信号强度大于-87 dBm时可以有效判决DME信号,并且矩形脉冲宽度符合ICAO要求。利用机场真实数据验证,在DME信号频段内,询问信号和应答信号解调得到的基带信号的信噪比在符合要求的情况下,能够准确利用DME判决得到符合要求的脉冲触发信号。
