Thermoplastic resin is the main film-forming material of hot-melt marking coating, and it can guarantee the mechanical properties and service life of hot-melt marking. By changing the type and content of the resin, the influence of the resin on the mechanical properties of the hot-melt marking coating series was studied. The results show that the resin type has little influence on compressive property and wear property but has a significant impact on adhesion property, shear property, and adhesion property. At the same time, with the increase of resin content, the compressive strength increased first and then decreased, and the wear property, adhesion property, shear property, and adhesion property showed an overall increase trend. When the resin type is C5 petroleum resin and the content is not less than 20%, the hot-melt marking line has excellent mechanical properties.

热塑性树脂作为热熔型标线涂料主要成膜物质,保障了热熔型标线的力学性能和使用寿命。通过改变树脂的种类和含量,研究其对热熔型标线涂料系列力学性能的影响。结果表明:树脂种类对抗压性能、磨耗性能的影响较小,对附着性能、抗剪性能以及黏附性能影响大;随树脂含量的增加,抗压强度先增大后减少,磨耗性能、附着性能、抗剪性能和黏附性能呈增长趋势。当树脂种类为C5石油树脂、含量高于20%时,热熔型标线具备优异的力学性能。

热塑性树脂作为热熔型标线涂料主要成膜物质,保障了热熔型标线的力学性能和使用寿命。通过改变树脂的种类和含量,研究其对热熔型标线涂料系列力学性能的影响。结果表明:树脂种类对抗压性能、磨耗性能的影响较小,对附着性能、抗剪性能以及黏附性能影响大;随树脂含量的增加,抗压强度先增大后减少,磨耗性能、附着性能、抗剪性能和黏附性能呈增长趋势。当树脂种类为C5石油树脂、含量高于20%时,热熔型标线具备优异的力学性能。

Thermoplastic resin is the main film-forming material of hot-melt marking coating, and it can guarantee the mechanical properties and service life of hot-melt marking. By changing the type and content of the resin, the influence of the resin on the mechanical properties of the hot-melt marking coating series was studied. The results show that the resin type has little influence on compressive property and wear property but has a significant impact on adhesion property, shear property, and adhesion property. At the same time, with the increase of resin content, the compressive strength increased first and then decreased, and the wear property, adhesion property, shear property, and adhesion property showed an overall increase trend. When the resin type is C5 petroleum resin and the content is not less than 20%, the hot-melt marking line has excellent mechanical properties.

道路标线能够引导道路上的各种车辆安全行驶,对车流的分道行驶、导流等具有重要作用,同时也有美化道路的效果[1]。良好的道路标线可提高30%以上的运输效率[2]。截至2022年底,全国公路运行总里程达到535万km,道路标线用量达到5亿m2以上。随着公路总里程的大幅度增长以及既有公路老旧标线重新施划,每年需消耗大量的标线涂料[3]。道路标线根据采用的涂料种类不同分为4种:热熔型标线、溶剂型标线、双组分标线和水性标线,最早使用的道路交通标线是溶剂型和热熔型标线,其中热熔型标线应用占比达到80%以上[8]
目前,热熔型标线存在的主要问题为使用寿命短,在交通量较低的路段为2~3年,重交通路段仅有0.5~1年,远短于路面的养护周期。频繁的标线养护需要多次交通管制,浪费人力,且造成拥堵。热熔型标线的主要病害为玻璃珠掉落、涂料开裂、涂料脱落、涂料磨耗,如图1所示。热熔型标线的病害原因主要是涂料与玻璃珠的黏附性能、涂料的抗剪性能、抗压性能、附着性能和磨耗性能等力学性能不足。树脂作为热熔型标线涂料主要的成膜物质,一方面保证涂料与路面的附着性,另一方面,保证对颜料、填料和玻璃珠的黏合作用,是热熔型标线涂料力学性能的主要影响因素。为保证标线的功能,热熔型道路标线应具有以下性能:①鲜明的标识性,规范和引导车辆和行人;②良好的反光性,在夜间指明方向;③较短的不粘胎干燥时间,以便快速开放交通;④与路面的附着性能、耐磨性能,保证标线的使用寿命;⑤良好的耐候性能,经受各种环境的考验;⑥足够的抗压强度,防止重载车辆碾压下发生的碎裂、脱落等病害;⑦ 与玻璃珠良好的黏附性能,保证高逆反射亮度系数[9-10]。热熔型标线要具备以上性能,需要其具备优异的力学性能。因此,研究树脂对热熔型标线涂料力学性能的影响,有利于提高标线的路用性能和使用寿命。
针对以上问题,本文研究了树脂种类和含量对热熔型标线涂料力学性能的影响,其中力学性能包括涂料与玻璃珠的黏附性能、抗压性能、抗剪性能、附着性能和磨耗性能。通过力学性能研究确定最佳树脂种类和含量,提升热熔型标线的力学性能和使用寿命。
热熔型标线涂料通常由热塑性树脂、玻璃珠、颜料、填料、助剂等组成。树脂将各种组分结合在一起,以形成均匀的涂层,并对路面产生附着力。热塑性树脂通常选用松香树脂、C5石油树脂、C5/C9共聚树脂,其性能指标见表1。颜料为金红石型钛白粉,填料选用石英砂与重质碳酸钙,流平剂选择聚乙烯蜡,塑化剂选择白油。
热熔型标线所用的玻璃珠主要包括内混玻璃珠和面撒玻璃珠,分别为国标1#和国标2#玻璃珠[11],其粒径分布及其他指标参照《路面标线用玻璃珠》(GB/T 24722—2020)。
热熔型标线涂料是由以热塑性树脂为主要成膜物,配以颜料、填料、反光材料、助剂等充分混匀制成。热熔型标线涂料需要对其进行加热熔融方可具备流动性和操作性,其加热熔融的温度为210 ℃,搅拌速率为200~500 r/min,搅拌熔融时间为30 min。本文选用C5石油树脂、C5/C9共聚石油树脂和松香树脂研究树脂种类对涂料力学性能的影响,并选用C5石油树脂研究树脂含量对涂料力学性能的影响。
将熔融的热熔型涂料倒入预先准备的20 mm×20 mm×20 mm的模具中,每组试样的数量不宜少于3块。将试模放置于水平桌面,待其降至室温后取出试样于室温条件下放置24 h,采用万能试验机测试其抗压强度,测试试件如图2所示。
首先,在模具内部涂覆脱模剂。然后,将熔融后的热熔型标线涂料注入模具空腔内,使其自流平,并在模具的中心位置开设一直径约7 mm的孔洞。待其冷却至室温后,取出试样。将试样于室温下放置24 h后进行磨耗性能测试(图3)。磨耗测试条件为荷载1 000 g,磨耗200转。每组试验不少于3块试样,试验结果取其平均值。
将熔融的热熔型标线涂料涂抹在剪切模具上,并将其黏合、冷却、养护24 h。采用万能试验机测试其抗剪强度(图4)。每组为3个试样,试验结果取其平均值。
附着性能按标准《漆膜划圈试验》(GB/T 1720—2020)进行拉拔强度测试(图5)。通过设置指定拉拔头的接触面积、拉拔速率,采用附着力拉拔仪测试附着力大小及破坏面积。预先采用砂纸对钢板进行打磨处理,并在其表面涂抹熔融的热熔型标线涂料,待其冷却至室温并养护24 h后将拉拔头黏附于其上方,待放置4 h后,进行拉拔测试。每个样品测试3次拉拔强度,并计算其平均值。
按照《漆膜耐磨性测定法》(GB/T 1768—1979)的要求制作磨耗性能试样。首先,在模具模腔涂脱模剂。然后,将熔融试样注入内腔,并立刻在距离涂料表面竖直方向约30 cm高度位置撒布玻璃珠(国标1#玻璃珠),使其自由落体,要求撒布全部覆盖涂料层,玻璃珠用量约50 g。待其冷却至室温后,取出试样。将试样于室温下放置24 h后进行磨耗性能测试(图6)。测试条件为荷载1 000 g,磨耗500转,测试玻璃珠的质量损失。每组试验不少于3次,试验结果取其平均值。
图7所示,3种树脂制备的标线涂料在25 ℃的抗压强度在19.0 MPa附近,显著高于标准要求(12 MPa)[12]。其中,C5石油树脂制备的涂料抗压强度最大,为19.0 MPa;C5/C9共聚树脂制备的涂料次之,为18.9 MPa,松香树脂制备的涂料抗压强度最小,为18.6 MPa,最小值与最大值差异仅0.4 MPa。3种树脂制备的标线涂料在60 ℃的抗压强度差异也很小,最大值与最小值仅相差0.7 MPa。因此,石油树脂的种类对热熔型标线涂料的抗压强度影响不显著。
以C5石油树脂含量对标线涂料抗压性能的影响为例。不同树脂含量的标线涂料在25 ℃的抗压强度均超过17 MPa,显著高于标准要求。抗压强度随树脂含量的增加呈先增大后减小的趋势,峰值(21.7 MPa)出现在树脂含量为17%时。当树脂含量增至25%时,抗压强度最小,为17.7 MPa,较峰值下降了18.4%。因此,制备涂料的树脂含量并非越高越好,这可能是因为当树脂含量增加到一定程度时,树脂的脆性导致涂料整体的抗压强度降低。在60 ℃条件下,涂料的抗压强度随树脂含量的增加而提高,表明树脂能提高涂料在高温下的抗压强度。为确保涂料在常温和高温条件下良好的抗压性能,推荐树脂含量范围为17%~23%。
树脂的种类对标线涂料的耐磨性能影响较大,如图8所示,均显著低于标准要求(80 mg)[12]。由C5/C9共聚树脂制备的涂料磨耗质量最低,仅为17.65 mg;C5石油树脂制备的涂料次之,为24.8 mg;松香树脂制备的涂料磨耗质量损耗最高,为25.75 mg。虽然由C5/C9共聚树脂制备的涂料抗磨耗性能最佳,但涂料颜色深,为保证标线涂料内混玻璃珠的有效裸露和标线持续的逆反射亮度系数,首选C5石油树脂作为热熔标线涂料的树脂。
以C5石油树脂含量对标线涂料磨耗性能的影响为例,不同树脂含量的标线涂料质量磨耗介于23~36 mg,均显著低于标准要求(80 mg)。标线涂料的质量磨耗随树脂含量的增加而逐渐降低。当树脂含量为15%时达到最大值(34.7 mg);当树脂含量为25%时降至23.0 mg。这可能是因为树脂含量的增加增强了对填料(重钙粉和石英砂)和玻璃珠的裹覆性和黏附性,使其更难因磨耗而脱落。当树脂含量从15%增加至17%时,质量磨耗值下降比例最大,为22.5%,涂料磨耗性能显著提升;当树脂含量从20%增加至25%时,质量磨耗值下降幅度减缓,仅为7%。因此,如需提高涂料的磨耗性能,可适当提高树脂含量,当树脂含量达到20%时,涂料具备优异的磨耗性能。
图9所示,C5/C9共聚树脂和C5石油树脂制备的涂料的附着性能相当,拉拔强度分别为2.01 MPa和1.97 MPa,松香树脂制备的涂料拉拔强度最差,为1.58 MPa,相比C5/C9共聚树脂下降了23%。因此,树脂种类对标线附着性能的影响较小。
以C5石油树脂含量对标线涂料附着性能的影响为例,涂料拉拔强度随树脂含量的增加整体呈增大趋势。这可能是因为随着树脂含量的增加,涂料的流动性增强,进入基面空隙的涂料更多,与界面黏附得更为牢靠。其中,树脂含量为23%时,涂料的附着性能最好,拉拔强度达2.13 MPa;当树脂含量为15%时附着性能最差,仅为1.76 MPa,较最大值减少17.4%。因此,树脂含量的增加能显著提高涂料与基面的黏附性能。当树脂含量达到20%时,涂料具备优异的附着性能。
图10所示,C5/C9共聚树脂制备的涂料抗剪性能最优,抗剪强度为0.33 MPa;松香树脂制备的涂料次之,为0.26 MPa;C5石油树脂制备的涂料最差,抗剪强度仅为0.18 MPa。因此,树脂的种类对标线涂料抗剪性能的影响很大。
以C5石油树脂含量对标线涂料抗剪性能的影响为例,不同树脂含量的标线涂料所测抗剪强度分布介于0.2~1.0 MPa,且随树脂含量的增加整体呈上升趋势,这可能是因为树脂含量的增加提高了涂料内部的黏结性,从而增强了整体的抗剪性能。当树脂含量为25%时,涂料的抗剪强度最大,为1.0 MPa。此外,当树脂含量由20%增加至23%时,涂料的抗剪性能提升显著,抗剪强度增加了0.25 MPa,增长了139%,从23%增加至25%时,增加了0.57 MPa,增长了133%。因此,树脂含量对涂料抗剪强度有显著影响,尤其树脂含量超过20%时,抗剪性能增强较为明显。
树脂的种类对涂料黏附性能影响显著,C5石油树脂制备的涂料黏附性能最优(图11)。C5石油树脂制备的涂料玻璃珠磨耗质量最低,仅为209 mg;C5/C9共聚树脂制备的涂料次之,为312 mg;松香树脂制备的涂料最差,玻璃珠磨耗质量高达398 mg,相比C5石油树脂组增加了近1倍。
涂料的玻璃珠磨耗质量随C5石油树脂含量的增加呈下降趋势(图11)。这可能是因为树脂含量的增加增强了涂料与玻璃珠的黏附力,提高了涂料的流动性,使玻璃珠嵌入涂料的深度更深、树脂对玻璃珠的裹覆面积更大,从而玻璃珠能更牢固地黏附在涂料上而不掉落。其中,当树脂含量为23%时,涂料黏附性能最佳,玻璃珠磨耗质量最低,仅为102 mg;含量为15%时,涂料黏附性能最差,玻璃珠磨耗质量为651 mg,较最小值增加了550%。说明树脂含量对涂料黏附性能影响显著,当树脂含量达到20%时,涂料表现出优异的黏附性能。
为验证以上研究的实际应用效果,在溧马高速(K259+262-K260+762)一车道虚线开展热熔型标线试验段并跟踪观测,结果见表2
本文的热熔型标线在施工初期逆反射亮度系数达到了357 mcd/(m2·1x),远高于设计要求,甚至达到III级标线标准。尽管在1年后出现亮度衰减,但仍保持在190 mcd/(m2·1x)以上,表现出优异的亮度稳定性。普通热熔标线在交通量大的路段使用寿命仅为0.5~1年,而本文优化后的热熔标线实现了1年以上的无养护使用,这使得交通管制频率减少,降低了维护成本。
综合分析树脂种类和含量对热熔型标线力学性能的影响和实际工程应用效果,得出以下主要结论。
(1)由C5石油树脂和C5/C9共聚石油树脂制备的涂料的力学性能较优,且差异较小。C5石油树脂的颜色更浅,因此,C5石油树脂为热熔标线涂料的首选树脂种类。
(2)当树脂含量在20%以上时,热熔型标线涂料表现出优异的力学性能,有利于延长标线的使用寿命。
(3)提高了热熔标线的路用性能和使用寿命,使热熔标线在高交通量条件下依然能够保持良好的性能,对热熔型标线涂料的开发和推广具有重要意义。
