Digital image processing technology and finite element simulation software based on ABAQUS were adopted to analyze the cracking damage and related influencing factors of asphalt mixture at the meso level. At the same time, zero-thickness cohesive force units were inserted at the asphalt mortar and aggregate-mortar interface to conduct finite element simulation of asphalt mixture SCB(semi-circular bending) test and analyze the cracking process of asphalt mixture at the meso level. The effects of pre-cut depth, specimen thickness and support distance on the cracking characteristics of asphalt mixture were investigated by using the load-displacement curve and fracture energy obtained from the cracking of the specimen. The results show that the deeper the prefabricated incision and the smaller the thickness of the specimen, the worse the anti-cracking performance of the specimen, and the anti-cracking performance increases first and then decreases with the increase of the distance between the supports. The anti-cracking performance of the specimen is the best when the distance between the supports is 80 mm.

为了深入分析沥青混合料在细观层面的开裂损伤及相关影响因素,采用数字图像处理技术,基于ABAQUS有限元模拟软件,同时在沥青砂浆及集料-砂浆界面插入零厚度内聚力单元,对沥青混合料SCB(半圆弯曲)试验进行有限元模拟。分析细观层面沥青混合料开裂过程,结合试件开裂得到的荷载-位移曲线与断裂能探究预制切口深度、试件厚度、支座间距对沥青混合料开裂特性的影响。结果表明,试件预制切口越深、厚度越小,试件的抗开裂性能越差,而随着支座间距的增大,抗开裂性能先增大后减小,在支座间距为80 mm时,试件的抗开裂性能最好。

为了深入分析沥青混合料在细观层面的开裂损伤及相关影响因素,采用数字图像处理技术,基于ABAQUS有限元模拟软件,同时在沥青砂浆及集料-砂浆界面插入零厚度内聚力单元,对沥青混合料SCB(半圆弯曲)试验进行有限元模拟。分析细观层面沥青混合料开裂过程,结合试件开裂得到的荷载-位移曲线与断裂能探究预制切口深度、试件厚度、支座间距对沥青混合料开裂特性的影响。结果表明,试件预制切口越深、厚度越小,试件的抗开裂性能越差,而随着支座间距的增大,抗开裂性能先增大后减小,在支座间距为80 mm时,试件的抗开裂性能最好。

Digital image processing technology and finite element simulation software based on ABAQUS were adopted to analyze the cracking damage and related influencing factors of asphalt mixture at the meso level. At the same time, zero-thickness cohesive force units were inserted at the asphalt mortar and aggregate-mortar interface to conduct finite element simulation of asphalt mixture SCB(semi-circular bending) test and analyze the cracking process of asphalt mixture at the meso level. The effects of pre-cut depth, specimen thickness and support distance on the cracking characteristics of asphalt mixture were investigated by using the load-displacement curve and fracture energy obtained from the cracking of the specimen. The results show that the deeper the prefabricated incision and the smaller the thickness of the specimen, the worse the anti-cracking performance of the specimen, and the anti-cracking performance increases first and then decreases with the increase of the distance between the supports. The anti-cracking performance of the specimen is the best when the distance between the supports is 80 mm.

沥青路面在车辆荷载及温度应力反复作用下,沥青混合料内部产生缝隙,随着荷载的持续作用,裂纹逐渐发展,导致路面结构强度下降,并逐渐发展为贯穿路面的裂缝,导致路面结构产生宏观破坏,从而使路面的服役寿命缩短。
近年来,对于沥青路面裂缝的研究大多基于宏观试验,如小梁弯曲试验、半圆弯曲(semi-circular bending,SCB)试验、四点弯曲试验等。半圆弯曲试验已经引起研究人员的关注,其基于断裂力学原理,最初应用于岩石断裂性能研究,后来则被应用于沥青混合料的疲劳性能试验。美国AASHTO试验规范中也包含相关内容,成为沥青混合料抗开裂性能评估中的一种常规方法,在国际上得到广泛应用[1]。半圆弯曲试验具有广泛的适用性,试验所需半圆试件既可以利用旋转压实试验或击实法通过切割得到,也可以在沥青路面上取芯得到,操作相对简单[2]。同时,该试验以试件破坏时所需的断裂能作为评价沥青混合料抗开裂性能指标,受力情况更符合沥青路面实际承受车辆荷载的状态,可以更好模拟沥青路面裂纹扩展行为,以反映沥青混合料的抗开裂性能[3-4]
目前,国内对于SCB试验的研究虽然有了一定的进展,但传统的加载模式不仅要求严格控制预制切缝的位移发展速度,并且对试验设备也有较高的要求,同时也在一定程度上忽视了沥青混合料内部微观结构对其抗开裂性能的影响。随着计算机技术的飞速发展,数值模拟方法已经有了广泛的应用。与实验室试验相比,数值模拟具有成本低、便捷快速的特点,但受限于计算技术,以往对沥青混合料的数值模拟大多基于其为均质材料的假设,导致模拟结果与实际实验结果存在较大误差[5]。而图像处理技术在沥青混合料中的应用,可以有效解决上述问题,利用该技术能准确获取混合料的微观结构信息,如集料特征、孔隙结构等,结合有限元模拟技术,便可以对沥青混合料的内部结构进行细观重建和虚拟仿真[6]。吴昊等[7]基于内聚力模型对再生沥青混合料低温断裂性能进行了研究,并与试验结果进行了对比,结果表明采用有限元模型得到的断裂参数与室内试验结果一致;相比于集料同分布模型,集料随机分布模型各评价指标的变异性系数整体更大,表明集料分布状态对开裂结果有一定影响;当计算样本足够多时,这两类模型获得的抗裂参数变化规律一致,可有效评价再生沥青混合料断裂性能。
为对沥青混合料半圆弯曲试件的细观开裂损伤和断裂行为进行模拟,在ABAQUS有限元模型中采用内聚力模型(cohesive zone model,CZM),即在有限元网格中引入内聚力单元,从而方便高效地实现材料裂纹的萌生和扩展问题,这种方法的运用对于研究沥青路面的裂纹特性提供了一定的帮助。
基于此,本文结合数字图像处理技术与有限元仿真模拟软件,基于内聚力模型,将沥青混合料中的集料、砂浆以及界面等细观结构进行了构建,对SCB试验进行有限元模拟,研究预制切口深度、试件厚度、支座间距对沥青混合料开裂特性的影响规律,以期为在细观层面研究沥青混合料的裂纹扩展行为提供一定的方法与思路。
内聚力模型(CZM)是一个在损伤力学框架下根据断裂力学原理而开发出的力学计算方法,主要用来模拟黏结面逐步剥离的行为。已经在水泥混凝土、沥青混合料、陶瓷等材料的裂纹模拟中得到广泛应用。如图1所示,CZM的本构关系由内聚力区域单元的“牵引-分离定律”所确定,该定律描述了界面上黏聚力与单元厚度方向上两个面之间相对位移的关系。CZM采用线性、双线性、指数和多项式等几种常见形式,根据现有研究,双线性内聚力模型更适用于模拟沥青砂浆和沥青-集料界面的开裂行为。
双线性内聚力模型的t-δ曲线如图2所示。图1图2中,δ表示裂纹面的位移情况,而T则表示内聚力大小,Tc代表材料的力学强度,即内聚力能达到的最大值,也可称为开裂强度,δf代表裂纹面的最大位移,也称为失效位移,δ0代表内聚力达到Tc时裂纹面的位移,Gc则是断裂能,即材料在从初始加载到完全破坏过程中吸收的能量[8]
利用ABAQUS有限元模拟软件中的内聚单元(cohesive element),可以实现双线性内聚力模型,在此模型中,通过试验可获取断裂能Gc和抗拉强度Tc等主要参数。模型引入损伤系数D来描述材料破坏程度,在双线性CZM 模型中,D的表达式如式(1)所示。在裂纹形成过程中,随着荷载的增加,D值从0逐渐增加至1。当D为0时,表示材料未受损伤;当D为1时,表示材料已经发生断裂[9]

式中:δmax为加载中裂缝面相对位移达到的最大值。
对AC-13热拌沥青混合料在中温条件下的半圆弯曲开裂试验进行有限元模拟,根据相关文献[4],该材料的相关黏弹性参数及断裂力学参数见表1表2
沥青混合料开裂破坏的形式有3种,分别为沥青胶浆的破坏、沥青-集料界面破坏、集料的破坏,在本研究中为便于建模分析,将集料设置为刚体,因此,破坏的形式主要为前两种,故在沥青胶浆与沥青-集料界面插入零厚度内聚力单元,在图3图4中用红色标出。
本研究所建立的SCB试验有限元模型如图5所示,压条的上部和下部都被设定为刚固体,压条与沥青混合料之间形成面对面的接触,可以传递压力。模型的两侧完全自由,上压条的顶端受到垂直向下的荷载作用,加载速率为5 mm/min,下压条被完全约束,即无法发生旋转和移动。
基于ABAQUS有限元软件将SCB细观模型在荷载作用下的裂纹演化过程分为4个阶段,如图6所示。依次为:①试件初始加载阶段。此时在集料-沥青胶浆界面、支座及预制切口处出现了明显的应力集中现象,支座处主要表现为压应力,而集料-沥青界面处以及预制切口处主要表现为拉应力,由于初始阶段试件承受荷载较小,界面处及切口处虽有受拉应力即将开裂的趋势但并未产生裂纹;②裂纹萌生阶段。随着上部支座位移的增大,试件承受的荷载也随之增大,试件最先在预制切口处产生了裂纹,同时沥青-集料界面处也萌生了微小裂缝;③裂纹扩展阶段。随着荷载的持续增大,裂缝随之沿着集料-沥青胶浆界面向试件顶部扩展,由于在定义材料属性时,将集料视为刚性材料,因此集料并没有产生破坏;④试件失效阶段。当试件承受荷载达到最大,对应的荷载-位移曲线到达最高点时,试件达到强度极限,裂纹贯穿SCB试件,无法继续承受荷载,试件失效。
为了便于控制沥青混合料半圆试件开裂过程中裂缝扩展路径,在进行SCB试验时一般需要制作预制裂缝。因此,将预制裂缝深度设置为自变量,范围15~25 mm,步长为5 mm,即15、20、25 mm,试件大小参照小马歇尔试件尺寸,即半径R=100 mm,支座间距d=80 mm,厚度H=40 mm,通过有限元模拟分析得到的半圆试件开裂过程中的荷载-位移曲线如图7所示。可以看到,在加载初期,曲线基本呈线性状态,随着位移的增大,荷载表现出非线性增长的趋势,且有一定的锯齿状,这主要是由于试件中集料分布的不均匀性所导致的,随着位移的持续增大,荷载达到峰值,试件也随之破坏。在达到峰值后,荷载-位移曲线缓慢下降,这主要是由于沥青混合料的黏弹性性质所导致的,即试件开裂后,其还有一定的强度。分析不同切口深度试件的荷载-位移曲线可以看到,随着切口深度的增大,试件破坏所需的荷载峰值随之降低。
为了更好表征沥青混合料的开裂损伤,引入断裂能(Gf),即能量释放率进行分析,断裂能越大代表沥青混合料抗开裂性能越好,反之越差。断裂能与试件切口深度之间的关系如图8所示。由图8可以看到,随着切口深度的增大,断裂能随之变小,表明其抗开裂性能变差。
对于沥青混合料半圆试件而言,试件厚度也是影响其抗开裂性能的因素之一,合理的试件厚度既能够方便试验操作,又能够保证试件在内部温度均匀[8],因此,将半圆试件的厚度H设置为变量,研究试件厚度为20、30、40、50 mm时沥青混合料的抗开裂性能,此时,试件半径R=50 mm,支座间距d=80 mm,预制切口深度20 mm,模拟得到的荷载位移曲线及断裂能变化分别如图9图10所示。
在进行沥青混合料SCB试验时,支座间距的不同也会对试验结果产生一定的影响,将支座间距分别设置为0.6d、0.7d、0.8d、0.9d,即60、70、80、90 mm进行分析,其他参数为试件半径R=50 mm,试件厚度H=40 mm,预制切口长度20 mm,得到的结果如图11图12所示。
图11图12可以看到,随着支座间距的增大,荷载峰值先增大后降低,断裂能也呈现出相同的趋势,在0.8d即支座间距为80 mm时出现最大荷载峰值和断裂能,这表明当支座间距为80 mm时沥青混合料半圆试件的抗开裂性能最好,间距过小或过大都会导致其抗开裂性能降低,这主要是因为当间距较小时影响开裂的因素主要为切口底部的拉应力,而间距过大时,主要是支点处的剪切破坏影响开裂损伤[11]。结合以上分析可以得到,在进行试验时选择支座间距为0.8d时,试验结果较为稳定。
(1)基于图像处理技术,结合有限元模拟软件,插入零厚度内聚力单元,相比于传统的试验模拟,可以更好地在细观层面对沥青混合料SCB试验进行模拟分析,可以清楚地看到,破坏形态主要为沥青胶浆的破坏和沥青-集料界面的破坏,模拟结果与实际破坏形式较为吻合。
(2)基于ABAQUS有限元分析软件对沥青混合料SCB试验进行模拟分析可将其开裂过程分为4个阶段,即初始加载阶段、裂纹萌生阶段、裂纹扩展阶段、试件完全破坏,能够对沥青混合料半圆试件的开裂过程进行较为准确的模拟。
(3)结合试件开裂得到的荷载-位移曲线以及断裂能可以得到,试件切口深度、厚度以及支座间距均会对沥青混合料的开裂特性产生影响。试件预制切口越深、厚度越小,试件的抗开裂性能越差,而随着支座间距的增大,抗开裂性能先增大后减小,在支座间距为80 mm,即0.8d时,试件的抗开裂性能最好。
