瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院Yiwen Chu等团队,提出并实验验证了一种基于机械谐振器的量子计算架构。该系统将超导transmon量子比特与高次谐波体声波谐振器(HBAR)组合在一起:前者负责快速运算,类似量子计算机中的“CPU”;后者拥有多个相干性较高的声子模式,可用于存储量子信息,类似一块“会振动的量子内存”。2026年5月28日,该研究成果发表于《Science》。
超导量子比特基于约瑟夫森结构建,可在约5 GHz微波频率下工作,操控速度快;HBAR则像一块微型“三维声学腔”,由蓝宝石或硅等晶体材料构成,能够约束并反射晶体内部传播的高频机械声波,也就是声子。问题在于,超导量子比特产生的是微波电信号,如何才能把这种电信号“写入”晶体,转化为可存储的机械振动?
研究团队在晶体表面沉积了一层圆顶状压电氮化铝(AlN)超薄膜。压电材料具有电—机械转换能力:当外加电场作用于材料时,它会发生微小形变;反过来,当材料受力形变时,也会产生电信号。借助这个“物理翻译官”,超导量子比特产生的局域微波电场被转化为蓝宝石晶体内部一涨一缩的纵向体声波。由于蓝宝石晶格纯净、损耗低,这些极其微弱的晶格振动能够维持较长时间,从而成为一张高质量的“声学便签”。
在微观世界中,粒子可以处于不同能级、位置或振动状态的量子叠加;但对质量更大的宏观机械系统而言,量子叠加态极易受到环境扰动而崩溃。2023年,该团队曾利用HBAR谐振器,使一块质量达16.2 μg、约含1017个原子的晶体产生机械振动,并让其处于“向左振动”与“向右振动”的宏观量子叠加态。这一实验刷新了处于空间位置叠加态物体的质量纪录,也证明宏观晶体振动可以保留量子特征。
有了长寿命存储介质,下一步就是让存储在其中的量子信息真正参与逻辑运算。在实验中,研究人员将transmon芯片与HBAR芯片倒装键合,并置于低温铝腔中进行读取和控制。量子信息首先存储在HBAR的声子模式中;当需要执行操作时,系统通过iSWAP门——一种可在2个量子系统之间交换量子态并附加相位的量子逻辑门——将声子模式中的量子态交换到transmon上;完成运算后,再通过iSWAP门将结果转回声子模式中存储。
研究团队进一步实现了单量子比特门和受控任意相位门,构成通用量子门集合,并成功运行了量子傅里叶变换(QFT)和量子周期寻找(QPF)算法。
