四川大学水利水电学院/山区河流保护与治理全国重点实验室刘兴年等团队,系统揭示了高喜马拉雅地区河流演变过程中的气候信号及其驱动机制,为预测高地河流未来演化及其对生态环境、基础设施和全球生物地球化学循环的影响提供了新视角和新证据。2026年5月14日,相关研究成果发表于《Science》。
河流的天然弯曲与河型演变是塑造行星地貌最古老、最普遍、最具活力的地表动力过程之一。传统观点认为,受河道自组织调整和环境噪声干扰,难以从河型动态中准确识别出气候信号。尽管不乏假说提出气候信号能够突破河流自组织过程约束,但长期以来缺乏实地观测证据。
为攻克这一难题,研究团队长期扎根青藏高原腹地,在气候敏感性极高、河曲自由演变的高喜马拉雅地区找到了破局关键。基于多年野外考察和长达40年的卫星遥感数据分析,团队系统查明了3大流域超过1500 km河道的河曲演变特征。
研究结果表明,与1980—2000年相比,2000—2020年间,非受限河道迁移、裁弯取直、河道改道,以及单一河道与多汊河道形态之间转换的发生速率大约翻了一番。这种河道形态动力学加速主要源于气候变暖背景下冰冻圈退化:冰川融水和泥沙通量增加,冻土河岸稳定性下降,从而增强了河岸侵蚀和河道侧向迁移。
该研究首次在北极以外地区系统证实了气候变暖驱动河型演变加速的经典假说。
