石英是生产单质硅的关键矿物。由于硅在电子、太阳能板和建筑行业的需求增长旺盛,石英的开采压力不断上升。通过高能耗冶金工艺从石英矿石中提取硅后,一般利用Müller-Rochow工艺进行铜基催化反应,最终产出氯硅烷。该方法可提供90% 的有机硅前体,但其使用的化学工艺可追溯至20世纪中叶,因此生产效率很低。例如,该工艺能耗水平高,需在300℃高温条件下进行,而且在催化剂降解过程中会产生硅铜合金副产物,以及含重金属和氯化烃的有害废弃物。有机硅回收则能够保护日益紧张的自然资源,同时最大限度降低能耗,有望为解决这些问题提供有效途径。
Vũ等介绍了一种化学方法,该方法利用氯化镓和三氯化硼将有机硅废料解聚为氯硅烷,在40℃的溶剂中反应2 h,将有机硅中的高强度硅氧键转化为硅氯键,从而切断聚合物长链。这种方法能够定量产出(收率近97%)二甲基二氯硅烷,并达到石化工业应用所需的纯度。传统的回收化学工艺会产生闭环结构的硅氧烷大分子,需进一步分解才能获得氯硅烷,而Vũ等提出的方法可以通过单次反应获得氯硅烷。这种更精简的化学工艺,可以使再生氯硅烷重新用于当前的生产工艺,有望避开生产有机硅采用的高能耗冶金工艺和Müller-Rochow催化工艺。
Vũ等揭示了利用三氯化硼和氯化镓进行协同催化的化学机制,旨在突破硅氧键与硅氯键交换的热力学障碍。计算表明,氯化镓本身无法降低反应活化能,但添加三氯化硼后可以实现化学反应的热力学可行性。Vũ等的研究表明,硼对氧的高亲和力可以削弱硅氧键,进而降低反应能垒,氯化镓则可以提升反应速率。这一协同作用促使氯从硼向有机硅转移,从而高效形成氯硅烷。此外,该研究还证实,反应中使用的致癌溶剂二氯甲烷可替换成危害较低的替代物质。在90℃条件下利用甲苯进行反应,同样能实现氯硅烷的定量产出。还有其他一些能溶胀有机硅交联网络的溶剂,可以促进催化剂有效扩散,提高收率,但反应时间略长。这些发现证明了改用环保溶剂且同时确保反应效率的可行性。
