This paper firstly clarifies that development of new renewable energy under "dual carbon" goal will benefit urban areas in PM2.5 and O3 pollution, and then summarizes such improvements in air quality in terms of the energy transitions in electric power, heating, steel and cement, transportation and other industries. In addition, limitations of the current research are also addressed.
