By reviewing the history and social context of agricultural technological development in different stages since the founding of the People's Republic of China, it reveals that China's agricultural science and technology has experienced three periods, lagging behind others, catching-up and leading in certain areas. 农业科技进步在保障中国粮食安全、推动农业以及国民经济的长期可持续发展起到了至关重要的作用。通过对新中国成立以来不同阶段农业科技发展的历史及社会环境的回顾,发现中国农业科技进步经历了从落后到赶超再到部分领先的过程,进一步分析了中国农业科技发展的动因与本质、范围与对象、社会需求等内在属性特征,总结了中国农业科技发展的主要成效和经验。最重要的经验在于坚持党的领导,充分发挥中国特色社会制度的优越性,坚定不移地推动农业科技创新。中国农业科技当前还面临着“多维度”的复杂问题,需要坚持绿色发展理念和质量兴农战略,重点推进农业科技创新。

The fundamental solution to agricultural modernization lies in technology. Agricultural technological advancement plays a crucial role in ensuring China's food security and promoting long-term sustainable development of agriculture and national economy.
