At the same time, the EU put forward seven green action plans and four supporting safeguard measures, as well as a clear emission reduction roadmap for the EU steel industry. This article discusses the background and significance of the Green Deal,and describes the requirements specified for various industries within the EU to achieve carbon neutral. This is then followed by a technical and economic comparison analysis for the technical route adopted in the steel road map.
