In 2020 the population of Asia reached 4.641 billion, accounting for 59.54% of the global population. Asia has long relied on importing potash fertilizer from Europe and the US. Thailand-Laos Mesozoic potash giant metallogenic belt has a predicted KCl prospect resource of more than 57 billion tons, of which Thailand's predicted KCl prospect resource is more than 43 billion tons. This article analyzes the Thailand's potash resource endowment, geography, infrastructure and other aspects, and believes that Thailand has the material condition for rapid development of a large potash base in Asia. With the in-depth development of the "Belt and Road", the promulgation of Thailand's new mineral law and the development of companies such as International Petroleum Corporation have shown the prospect for Thailand-Laos to establish a strategic potassium base in Asia. 钾是农作物生长所必需的三大营养元素之一。通过分析泰国钾盐资源禀赋、地理、基础设施等,认为泰国具备较快规划发展为亚洲大型钾盐基地的物质条件。老挝钾盐资源开发的成功,也证明具有相同资源类型的泰国钾盐资源具备开发的可行性。随着“一带一路”倡议深入开展,泰国新矿产法的颁布、国际石油集团等公司的开发,展现出建立泰国-老挝亚洲钾盐战略基地的前景。建议相关国家和企业及早谋划建立泰国-老挝亚洲大型钾盐基地,为亚洲建立大型钾盐战略基地。
