Taking the heat-sensitive phenomenon in clinical moxibustion as the starting point, the paper has explored the laws of occurrence of the phenomenon, traced the original definition of acupoints, put forward the theory of acupoint sensitization, innovated the HSM technology and evaluated its efficacy based on evidence, conducted basic research, built a new theoretic system of heat-sensitive moxibustion, and finally opened up a new world of heat-sensitive functional regulation of human body surface.
